1522 - The venue for many office parties and not so quiet hangouts with friends. Located conveniently close to both work and home, 1522 became the venue for many mid week and weekend parties. Good food, great starters, reasonably priced booze and comfy seating - the recipe for a good pubbing experience with friends.
Recommendation - If you come to Malleshwaram for work or pleasure and are looking for a spot to catch a chilled beer, then this is the place for you!
1+5+2+2 = A Perfect 10!!!
What do you get when you add the numbers 1+5+2+2? It equals 10! Maybe because after you visit this place, you will feel it's a perfect 10.
1522 - The Pub, was previously known as White Horse. It is located on 17th Cross, Malleshwaram, just after the Milk Colony Bridge which connects Malleshwaram and Rajajinagar. If you are looking for a place to chill out on the weekdays, then this is the place for you. I had visited this place a few months ago on a Monday evening, and must say after I entered the place, it was packed though it was a weekday. So you can imagine how jam packed it will be on weekends!
Once you enter 1522, you will feel as if you have entered a pub located in Europe. My friend, who had recently been to Europe told me that the interior, ambiance of 1522 reminded him of a pub he had visited in UK. You have the option of sitting at a table, or even at the bar. As it was IPL Season, many people had come to catch the match and enjoy with a few drinks and yummy food.
We sat at a table in the corner. As there were three of us, it was the right place to be seated as it was away from all the hustle and bustle. They have a huge menu which will make you think twice before ordering, as everything looks so tempting! As far as the drinks are concerned, you have a huge list to choose from. I settled for the usual, a Bacardi Breezer, while my hubby and friend ordered for Kingfisher Draught Beer in a pitcher.
Now time for the appetizers! Being a big fan of cheese, I usually order something which includes this. We ordered for Chilly Cheese Toast which is a plate of 8 slices of toast covered with cheese and topped with green chillies and tomatoes. The quantity is just right for three people, but if you are a huge cheese fan like me, then it's better to order two plates of this! The next vegetarian appetizer we ordered was for Mixed Veg - Lemon. This was a plate of mixed vegetables, green chillies and a dash of lemon juice on top. Both of the vegetarian appetizers were quite filling and tasted great. Therefore, I did not order anything for the main course.
For the non-vegetarians, we ordered Devil's Chicken, Egg Pepper Dry, and Chicken Chilly Boneless. I was told that the Devil's Chicken was the winner out of all the three dishes ordered. It had a unique flavor which stood far from the usual chilly and pepper ones. Chicken Chilly Boneless is included in the "Classics" section of the menu. The Devil's Chicken is part of the "Specials" menu. Even the NV's were quite full on the starters and decided to pass on the main course.
1522 offers a wide variety of Appetizers such as Soups and Snacks and Main Courses for both Vegetarians & Non-Vegetarians. They have Weekend Specials too which include Coastal Dishes such as the famous Chicken Ghee Roast, Chicken Sukka, Mangalore Kori Rotti, etc. Or you could settle for Chinese Dishes as an Appetizer or even Main Course.
The Drinks List is endless with so many choices of Beers, Cocktails, Mocktails, Whisky, and Shooters to choose from.
We spent about 3 hours there and I must say I was surprised to find the place so crowded on a weekday! They have a smoking/non-smoking section as well. The place has a nice ambiance with soft, contemporary and classic rock playing in the background. The waiters are friendly, and service is good too. The prices are reasonable and the bill came to Rs. 1300.
1522 is the perfect place to hang out on a Girl's Night Out, a First Date, a lazy weekend, or to relax after a long day at work.
Cheers to 1522!
