so much to eat in only rs.500 bucks, awesome !

We went for buffet lunch and we kept eating. We were sheepish in the beginning to ask for rates and when we saw the bill was nothing. Our bill was only 2000 bucks as 1 person was vegetarian. Good food - my classic all time favs - lemon coriander chicken soup and fish garlic pepper in starters and green fish curry in main course. Chicken satay and chicken dish were also good. Must eat here !

Dinner @ Barbeque Factory

I visited Barbeque Factory Koramangala today. We were 25 people; invited my family and friends. I am very much disappointed with the quality of food they serve. Rice is half cooked, Naan's were cold. Serving food is slow. Starters were limited and main course is less. Desserts were given in a plate as prasada. This is not a good place if you want to have good food.

Do.not.burst. - was the only thought on my mind when I left the place. Thankfully, I didn't. This place does not disappoint.

With starters made to perfection. Followed by a world class main course, the biryani made me regret stuffing myself with the starters.

Then the dessert, these sweet mouthfuls of bliss were designed so that your hand and mouth function involuntarily, as the rest of your body rages you to stop.

I am surprised I made it out unharmed with nothing but the ultimate joy in life - a stomach filled with food for a king!

Thanks to the BARBEQUE FACTORY and the smartest waiter and all their hospitality.

Great Food, Great Service

Had been to BBQ Factory for a treat. The ambiance was very pleasing and well furnished and we were seated immediately even without booking. Paintings are worth a mention as they are very very good.

First we were asked for Veg or non-veg course, and later served Veg soup which was kind of a poor start. On asking for non-veg soup option there was none. The soup was tomato soup which was 'bland'.

Then came the starters. Veg friends complained starters to be average but non veg ones were amazing. Prawn, chicken 2 types and mutton were all Tandoori kebabs. They were juicy and some of the best kebabs eaten in a long time. Service is worth mentioning as they would come up and ask the starter we would like to have and serve them piping hot even though they took 5 min from request time to serve. Worth the wait I would say.

Main course, Butter chicken (bad) and mutton spicy curry (good) with 3 Indian breads. Need more variety of Indian bread and Butter chicken?? Come on, you guys can dish out better curry after the starters we were served.

Chicken Biryani, was very tasty with cold raitha.

Dessert, gulab jamoon, RAS GULLA (NICE TASTE), vanilla ice cream scoop with chocolate sauce was good

Other than starters and Chicken Biryani which were the highlight, nice time

Nice Food and Service

This is the third time I am visiting this place and to my surprise this time they changed their menu a lot. The kebabs were changed and loved the tangdi kebabs and potato filled with peanuts etc. Infact I liked all the kebabs I went for. I loved the dips they had with it and the manager explained that they have changed the dips as well. Main course had prawn curry and roghan josh with other things. Great work guys, will suggest it to my other colleagues as well.

Very Average! No Way Compared to Barbeque Nation!

Very average food and service! The starters were served at the table(no BBQ grill on the table)...But it is hard to keep track of what starters they have for the day (since we are at the mercy of the waiters to serve us)... It was frustrating to see that every 10 min a waiter would come to our table and say "All starters over! Shall I get main course..." When we still had to get a few more starters.

The food was also very average in taste and variety (few vegetarian options). We went to this restaurant with a lot of expectations and it truly let us down!!! I don't feel like visiting this place again anytime in the near future!

This is really sub-par when compared to Barbeque Nation which truly gives a true dining experience (with a BBQ grill on the table, lots of starters and very courteous staff).

If you're a true non-veg kebab freak like me, you're sure to love the Barbeque Factory. My favorite is their Grilled Butter Fish and Murgh Tikka Kesari. An amazing place for kebabs! I would recommend it to everyone.

Excellent food especially starters, good ambience and nice service.
Only tip - if you are going for dinner, make sure to go there early, around 7 pm as it gets crowded around 8:30 pm.
And 5 stars for the hospitality shown by the manager.
Yummy food after a day long fast- What else do you want?

Starters delight!

BBQ never ceases to amaze me. The place has a very good ambiance and the waiters here are very friendly and courteous. The place is a delight for Non Vegetarians but doesn't mean it is any less for the veggies too.
Unlimited starters are the best. The aloo and pineapple is top class.
Apart from the unlimited starters, they have 6 different varieties of main course dishes and 7 typers of desserts.
The waiters here don't accept tip and that's something that must be commended.

Delicious Food

It was my nephew's birthday and we planned to celebrate it at the Barbeque Factory. It was a splendid evening and all of us had a fabulous time. The food was delicious, the starters were a total stand-out for me! Loved the place, keep it up guys!

Fine Dining But No Wow Factor !

It was my first time that I entered a restaurant without any recommendation /suggestions from friends and relative . I saw some good reviews on the net and thought of giving it a try .

First and foremost , we were late (arrived at 3:30PM) for the lunch buffet and still we found the personnel very cordial and patient in serving us the food . So I must say , excellent on that front .

Taste : The food is limited in variety but the taste is exquisite. I liked the fish starter and the nan preparation . The mutton prepared was soft and tender and the chicken crisp.

Variety of Food : The variety served is limited if you compare the price of the buffet . The starters are quite tasty ; however since it is served at the table and there is a definite delay and hence the wait for the next starter ; the fun is missing .There are two varieties in main course : Naan ,Chicken Curry , Mutton Curry and Dal & Chicken Biryani.

Deserts : It is pathetic in terms of variety and content . You will get only one ice cream , one tiny gulab jamun and a skinny sour mango . I was dissapointed.

Service and Promptness : I will not rate it bad but the service is ok . They provide you what you ask but are not prompt is asking and proactive service as expected .However the floor manager is quite decent and keeps asking whenever possible . However if you compare this to BBQ nation service , it is lacking way behind .

If you are looking for some quite time with your family and not looking for some great variety and appetizers , it might be the place on a week day . However , you should not be expecting much and start comparing with BBQ nation & Indijoes . If you are , you are in for disappointment. I would rate it as average !!! :)

Awesome Barbeque

Food worth price. Must say the barbeques are great !

The main courses could be better though. But by the time we finish our starters, we are so full that we hardly concentrate on the main course.
Nice ambience and service too.

Disappointing

After going through the reviews we decided to try this. But it was really disappointing. Only starters were good. Main course was average. Nothing great. Dessert was a waste. There was nothing good for dessert. And the worst part was billing. Initially we were 6 people so we ordered for 6 buffet but later one person didn't have anything (other than dessert) but still they charged for 6 people saying since we ordered for 6 people we have to pay. We told them you can charge for desserts but still they did not agree to it.

Overall not worth the price...Even service was not good.

was matching its menu as displayed in site :)
V GOOD 5 NV starters, even veg was good. veg tikki was expectional.
main course was fine..good to see 3 mutton dishes. prwans was missing :(
service is good.
Sad thing is everything is served to the table, no live barbeques, so ur tastebuds shd wait for ur fav ones.
Desserts - 0.5/5... really there is lot of improvement s req in this section.
Overall it was Satisfactory

Waste of money!!

Visited this place with gr88 expectations but BBQ Factory didnt work out for me AT ALL..The place looks good but music way too loud, we had to even ask to turn it down. The biggest shock was dirty plates..3rdly ur cold drinks not properly chilled, just average.
In non-veg section the mutton shikampuri was delightful. Turn-off was the paratha which got served alongwith. Rest of the fare was just average. Main course no, not even mentionable. Desserts horrible, one of the small scoopy bowls was actually broken in which I was served. Time to buy new crockery guys...
Veg fare was equally disappointing. All they served were potatoes, atleast the large chunkr of it. Probably the cooks in BBQ Factory are under the impression that veg food is not interesting enough, so they put extra effort in spicing up the veggies(potatoes+panner tikka). It was unnecessarily spiced up so much so that my friend couldnt eat and kept refusing one potato dish after another. Paneer tikka also lacked any pleasant taste otherwise it should have.
All in all hole in the pocket for a horrible lunch. I seriously doubt if this restaurant could continue with such ordinary fare for a longer time.

Awesome is the right adjective

I recently visited Barbeque factory on a weekday for lunch. Let me mention that I am a non-vegetarian and my wife is vegetarian.

1. Service was good. We were quickly attended.
2. Menu was quite impressive. I had the best of Tangdi, chicken tikka, mutton seekh kebab. Fish was also soft and good. Truly awesome, no exaggeration here, given the fact that I am very choosy about taste and do not praise easily( my wife know it well :) . Also let me point out that it is superior to what I had in BBQ nation.
3. Main is another area where this place scores over BBQ nation way too ahead. BBQ nation is only for starter lovers and is a complete dis-appointment for main course. They have quite good options in Main course too.
4. My wife never wanted to accompany me in BBQ nation as it is only a delight for non Veg. She found this place right for her too. She enjoyed the veg starters and main course here. So we got good place with equally good veg and non-veg options.

What Is miss:

1. Prawns was the only thing I missed on the menu.

Good Food, Average service

I visited Barbeque Factory for the Valentine's Day Dinner with my wife. The food was good, the service was so so. Since we pay for both, I would like to mention a few observations here.

It was 2-3 couples when we entered, we were given a warm welcome, everything was going fine till the hall was half filled when the staff lost track of what's going on.
It was not a regular buffet where you go and get desired portions of your food, nor it was like barbeque nation where starters are bombarded on to your table till you say stop. I guess the system was to serve everything right at the table. So we started off with soup, some juice and water melon pieces. Then came a few kababs, the problem was you would not know if you have missed something. There is no order, the staff just roams around looking for empty plates and serving them based on their own wish. After having the fish and chicken kababs, one leg piece, the captain came and asked if we wanted to start the main course, I asked if they were serving prawns too as it was there in the pamphlet they showed when we entered. He replied that you didn't ask someone for it ? So he sent some prawns, 3 pieces precisely, I waited some 15 mins for the next set of 3 pieces, I asked them if have to wait for 15 mins between every portion of kababs ? The reply was that with all these customers it is expected. You should cater to a size you can handle. Isn't it ?

I think they need to find a way to organise the service. One should ensure every guest has been served all the items on the menu. If there is some item that could not be refilled, the staff instead of hiding or taking diversions just before the guest's table can let them know so.

I am a big fan of barbeque nation but had no intentions of comparing the two when I entered here. But with such little difference in cost and so much difference in service and amount/quality of food, I must say, you have a long way to go, forget Barbeque nation but to match the standards of a genuine Barbeque Restuarant.

So service needs to be improved. I guess the pani puri walah can keep better track of his customer's count of servings then these guys. Food is good. Liked it. But don't serve it as you want to save it for tomorrow.

Heaven for Non Veggies

This place is a must go for all non veg lovers. I am a frequent visitor to this place and have never had any complaints with regards to food, so far. The concept of spicy pineapple and honey paratha is really unique. I also like having watermelon with strawberry syrup poured on top of it. This is followed by chicken kebabs, fish starters, mutton seekh kebab and of course the veg starters (in case there is a veg person in ur group). Of the 6 times I have visited this place I have never been able to have the main course, simply because the starters itself are so sumptuous and filling.
I would, however, request the team to change the menu every 2-3 months and introduce other unique dishes.

TIP - Beware of the guys responsible for Valet Parking as few items were stolen from my car :(

Best place for Barbeque!

This is a great place for starters. The main course is fabulous as
well but by the time you start on the main course you are so full of
starters, it is somewhat difficult to get anything else down.

For the desserts, my personal favorite is ice cream and gulab jamuns,
although the diplomat pudding is awesome too (high time to change
dessert varieties)

Well worth the money. Best place for team lunches.

Candle light Dinner

Well we (me & my significant half) ended up at Barbeque Factory one evening for a dinner we had a great candle at our table and nice food served at our table after we were asked veg or non-veg, we said veg well then the food started coming at regular intervals without disturbing our conversation we never realized that we ate so much including so many starters, mains desserts etc. the bill was pretty decent around 860/- for two people for so much stuff. I am recommending this to every person I have met till now, than my significant half said that it would be better if I put their review online.so yes I recommend this place.

Too expensive as compared to Barbeque nation

Food is good but it is highly expensive as compared to the variety of starters, main-course and desserts. Can go once!.....Paying too much for less varieties doesn't make sense ...i would prefer BBQ nation next time if i have to pay so much! Ambiance is very nice only thing is customers cannot relish live barbeque as in BBQ nation has.

Worst service, waste of money!!

I was there with my friend on a thursday afternoon, it was heavily crowded thoughi have booked the table before they din make any arrangement for the table, anyhow i managed to sit with my friend, I read the reviews in burrp.com before going there, I think most of them are visiting the restaurant for a project party or something like that, bcz of that reason they have a hyped projection of the restaurant..
I'l list down few drawbacks;;
1. It's not a good place for couples.
2.its not at all calm, Not at a good ambience.
3.thebuffet is not like we choose, they choose and they serve.. (this spoils the purpose of buffet)
4.too expensive for what u eat.
5.no welcome drinks like BBQ nation.
6. No much variety of starters.

Only good thing was, The staffs were polite..

Fast, friendly and good value for money

This was my first visit and the first experience was disappointing - the lift had broken down and my mom-in-law finds it difficult to climb stairs - esp the trek up the 3 floors. But Samson and his team of 4 people just hauled her up on a chair and up the stairs. Now thats going the extra mile.

Whats more the food was good, service was very fast, people were very responsive and made sure that everyone was being attended to routinely. There were no frills and the price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity. There were some foods that were standard but there were others that were unique and stood out and made it special (of course - to each his own).

We're not big fans of dessert - so this was not at all concern for us - but may be for those who love variety in their sweet stuff. But overall excellent - Samson brings a lot fo energy to the place and his staff seem to reflect that enthusiasm.

Lastly, but by no means the least, there is valet parking...

BFF with BBF ..

I've been here a few times already and this review is long overdue. BBF is the place to go if you have a hankering for good kababs. This buffet meal is worth the cost and is VFM in my book. The concept isn't new of course but the service and quality of the food here surpasses the run-of-the-mill fare dished out by similar concept restaurants. They have a variety of dishes that you get to sample and they serve it with a smile. The service is outstanding. The staff clearly have been trained well in customer service. They offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian buffets. The dinnerware put in front of you is marked accordingly so there is no confusion among the waiters. Every dish is made fresh and served on your table. The food is delicious. The grilled pineapples with strawberry glaze is a great start to the meal. They have a huge selection of appetizers which are brought out one after the other. Just when you think there can't possibly be anymore, they bring out more. You can take your pick of chicken, mutton, fish & prawn appetizers along with vegetarian goodies like paneer tikka, gobi, babycorn, potatoes etc The honey paratha with minced mutton kabab deserves a special mention. You will want to pace yourself. Don't fill up on the appetizers because you will regret it when the main courses and desserts arrive. An array of delicious curries brought out in tandem and served with warm Indian breads hits the spot. The meal ends with a selection of tiny portions of desserts. The decor is lovely, beautiful paintings adorn the walls and the lighting is good. The music is relaxing. The dining area is very spacious. They also have little kiddie corner where there are bean bags and toys for the children which is a very nice touch. This one certainly goes on my recommend list. Let's hope they keep it up.

Best restaurant in B'lore for dinner

Went on 28th of November 2012 for friend's birthday party, What can i say this is the best quality food I've ever ate in my whole life.

BEST BEST BEST (heaven for non-veg lovers)

Ambiance 4/5
Food quality 5/5
Service 5/5
Non veg 5/5

I liked

Everything specially the honey paratha with mutton kabab.
Prawn curry and butter chicken, I don't think any other restaurant can match their
taste.
Non-veg Biryani no words to express the taste.
Desserts were really good presented and really good in taste.

Disliked

Well till I didn't find anything may be next time they will give me chance :D

BEST BEST BEST

Non veg dinner 530
veg dinner 430
(inclusive with taxes)

Note : The dinner isn't a buffet type dinner, they will serve from starter to desserts on your table, but don't worry while leaving the restaurant you can't take a proper walk because of full stomach, they will constantly serving the food on your table, you won't find your plate empty.

Decent food, average service

Been there yesterday as a group of 5. Their concept of buffet served at the table is not new, but they seem to be doing a better job at avoiding wastage compared to similar places. The ghee and honey paratha with the mutton patty was the highlight of the meal, it just melts in your mouth. The kebabs were good, would have given a better rating if not the fish. Deep fried fish that is undercooked in the center was a disappointment. In the main course, the prawn gravy was the best. Prawns can get overcooked quite easily but what we had yesterday was just right. The dessert spread was disappointing, wasn't much of a spread actually. Gulab Jamun, Jelly custard (they had a fancy name for it - 'diplomat pudding'), vanilla ice cream and a coconut milk drink. The coconut milk drink was very refreshing but everything else was very average.

They have a serve in style of service and you dont have the personal barbeque as in bbq nation.. but the food is actually good here considering the price what I paid. This place unarguably has the best barbeque in town.. The fact that they let u have your own barbeque on d table is just too good. This place has the best starters you can think off in chciken, mutton, fish, prawns ,paneer and if you go on a spl. day u might even get crabs barbequed. The ambience is just terrific and they usually have a guy playing live music. The service is extraordinary brilliant here. It is a lil expensive but then good things come at a price.

FAN TAS TIC

Well i usually dont do reviews, but this experience certainly deserves that i spend time doing it . It was our annivarsary and i wanted to make the day special and the choice of restaurant for dinner turned out to be just right. excellent food , the most excellent staff (always smiling , always welcome, always eager to serve) and awesome music , the restaurant was thoughtful enough to keep spare CD's for guests who like their music collection that as soon as we let them know that the music was good lo we had a CD in our hands without even asking for it. Whether you are a foodie or not , this place is certainly worth a visit. the only feedback i can give is that all the starters arrived too fast which is ok for hoggers like me, but our parents found it a little fast so maybe they can tune the serving speed to the rate at which people empty their plates.

I personally wouldn't recommend it to, too many people. This was my first time visit here and a few of my friends definitely swear by this place, so I guess you have to be prepared to expect the good and the bad from this restaurant. Although Their food is slightly on the spicier side - which suits me just fine. They served us Shikkampuri Kababs - with Honey parathas (a first time for me)...which I must say - was quite tasty. Full of flavour. I was surprised to know they did not have The Fish was extremely soft and fresh..made very well.

This is one of those paces where we headed - on one of those EXPERIMENTAL MOOD days. The board was not so visible so I mentioned the same to the Manger he gave a decent reason that the place was getting started and there were quite a few things to fix.

Unlike the other places (where you have buffet), they keep serving the starters at your table and you can repeat based on your liking. Since it was starting there was a big delay in getting the things to us. The starters most of them were very good. So were the main course and the dessert. The ambiance is very good, perfect for one of those romantic nights :-)

The service is excellent and the staff very courteous. I am guessing they are much better off now that its been months since it started. Will go here again just to make sure I thought right about the place.

I am not sure why I would suggest this place to you - because its expensive. And thus I can suggest many other places to you.

Pretty nice place

I went with a friend straight from office. We sought to escape the unlovely realities of life.
We were given honey-kabab-parathas, various barbecues, and some pretty run-of-the-mill starters, main course, and desserts.

The food is good, the waiters are quiet, and overall, the place is good. Not stand-out, though.

Good

Sometimes, I love it when I don't have to choose from a range of wonderful sounding food. This is what is fantastic about a place like BBQ factory. Everything that comes to the plate is very sophisticated and tasty to boot. . and there is no shortage of elements for vegetarians either. . Its a great place to take the family out to or even on a semi-rowdy friends night out!

Very Good Kebabs and good food

This is the second time I am going to this place and loved the food here. Kebabs are fresh and yummy. Both veg and non- veg kebabs are good.
We were seated on the sofa and could see the open kitchen. The ambience was good.
The starters are 6 veg and 5 non veg are all great and goes with honey paratha. The service seems to fine the manager said there is a bit of delay as few of the staff from north east left and few new staff were still in training.
They didn’t charge my 4year old as they said kids up to 4years is free. The price also seemed good for a Thursday 430 for veg and 530 for non-veg and inclusive of all taxes. Value for money. Desserts were good and had a good time.

An aweful experience (disgusting)

On 17/09/2012 we had been to this restaurant and the experience was horrible.First of all the the service was too bad , every item to serve they were delaying 10 to15 mins our plates were empty but still they waiters were not bothered to serve the items on time. The starter items were kind ok not bad but the non veg main menu was too bad to mention. In short they are not par with a any good restaurant.I will never visit this restaurant in my life :-x again

On my visit to Bangalore had amazing kebabs

I went to this place last week Thursday with my friends and the place was full. There were people waiting in queue. Therefore an advance booking will be advisable. They start with a soup and then watermelon with the strawberry dressing which was yummy. Then comes the series of kebabs. There were 11 kebabs all together and we tried all - 5 non veg and 6 veg. Liked most of the kebabs in both veg and non-veg. The kebabs were freshly made and main course was equally good. Service is also good and Waiters are friendly. Liked the Ambience and being a Thursday the price was good too 430 for veg and 530 for non-veg all inclusive of taxes. Fri, Sat Sun their price are 499 and 599 again inclusive of taxes which seemed quiet reasonable to me for the quality and variety of kebabs and food served. Will visit again and recommend to friends too.

Average Food,Over priced for the spread& quality

Just behind Sony World in Koramangala, this restaurant is in a tough place to get in and out. They have a set menu which is served on the table which is INR600 for non veg and INR500 for veg. They serve some fruits and soup in the beginning. Soup was very average and there was only one option (tomato). What about the strictly non-vegetarians? The kebabs were 2 chicken and two mutton and one fish. Out of which 2 kebabs were good (chicken tandoor and sheek kebab). Fish was battered and fried and not hot (very bad). Main spread consisted roti's, dal and butter chicken and biriyani. None of them were exceptional, just average.
The desserts were below average and they served coconut milk in a glass, I was not sure what to do with it! I have seen my wife making stew using that!! Ambience is not so appealing. You dont feel like you are sitting in a restaurant claims to be equal to other famous barbeque joints in bangalore. Service was pretty good.

Overall an average restaurant. They can rethink the price or the spread and ambience to stay on in the league.

I am a real customer and know well that you have a set menu. Even though I beg to differ your claim that it is kitchen to table. Maybe true for your kebabs. Not for anything else for sure. I will soon visit your place again and will be happy to review if I see an improvement. All the best !

Neither Barbeque nor Factory. Overpriced

They should remove the word 'Barbeque' from its name. In the starters, there was only 2 items (1 veg/1 non-veg each) barbequed. No prawns. Fish deep fried. Definitely not expected in a factory called barbeque. Otherwise, rest of the starters were decent.
We went on Saturday 1pm, with booking in advance. Till next 30 mins, when they had hardly 3-4 tables full, they hadn't served anything apart from onion (looked bad) and chutney. After they served starters, each item once, they didn't had courtesy to ask to serve some more. Even after we reminded them 4 times, one waiter kept asking to go for main course.
Tastewise main course was ok but had limited items, and again no one cared to repeat the items. We asked for plain Roti, no one got it for 20 mins. Dessert was limited (again) and not great either.

If I rate BBQ Nation as 8(out of 10), it deserves 3.

Not recommended. Will not be visiting this place again.

1) Went for lunch with my 9 colleagues for lunch buffet on a weekday.
We made the reservations in advance which was confirmed.
The starters were just awesome. We loved the Shikumpuri kebab,
pineapple kebabs, mushrooms, butter fish etc. Aloo bharwa really good.
The other non veg starters were also well done and served in plenty.

The staff is hospitable and helpful. The main course was equally good
with chicken curry and prawn curry. Liked the panneer curry and dal
milijuli too. Desserts were good .Small gulab jamuns were yummm!

Overall..a great experience and loved the veg kebabs and food equally.

Good Kebabs

We had a Corporate Team Lunch in Barbeque factory recently. The ambiance is good, the staffs are courteous and friendly. The best part I liked was that the prices were inclusive of taxes Weekdays Mon to Thurs: 430 veg and 530 non – veg so didn’t have a surprise payment of another 30% to top it which other similar restaurants usually charge. All of us liked the variety in the starters shikampuri was yum melting in the mouth as they say. Binged on the butter fish as well. Veg starters were equally good pineapple kebab was good and panner was soft. After all the starters there was little space for main course however I binged on it too. Taste was good and authentic north Indian taste.

Mouth watering Kebab's

Went with my family to this restaurant last weekend food was good
both Veg and Non Veg Starters and main food. They have an elaborate
buffet spread and everything is served on the table. The very tasty
food liked all the kebabs and staff was very courteous and prompt. The
bad after effects which are common when you eat out was almost nil
even though I hogged on both veg and non veg starters and main course.
The starters were prepared as per order and was fresh. We enjoyed it.

Great Kebabs Enjoyed it

One of my friend suggested this place. The food was Great ,great ambiance and I would say lasting taste of the amazing customer service.
Barbeque factory may seem like a clone for one of the more successful restaurant in town however there is no comparison neither in food or ambience or the great guys always smiling and serving there. . they start with the melt in the mouth - shikampuri kabab which sets the tone for the great kababs to come, tandoori chicken without color, then the chicken tikka and angarey seekh kabab , fish kababs were good ( thou they should Grill the fish instead of frying it. ) anyways they gave us the second helping of fish which was grilled . the staff is so well trained that they don’t say no to any of your requests ( no company policies here ,unless you ask for a discount )we had gone there with a very skeptical mind however no one compares to their standards of service ,which is equivalent to any good five star hotels in the city.we tried BBQ on a Saturday and we are so convinced about it that we would be going to The great Indian Thali next which seems to be run by the same management cheers !!

Good food and serivce

3.5 stars actually. Was here last week and found it to be a very decent experience. The biggest mistake Ajay(manager) has done is with the name of the restaurant which whether he likes it or not draws parallels with Bangalore latest fad that is BBQ nation. When you call it a BBQ factory what you do expect is a deluge of meat options. what it does offer though is a twist on the the regular Indian buffet. The food though is great. The kebabs are succulent and surely do feel they have been made in smaller batches(per table) and you dont get the mass produced taste and feel. We were 4 ppl all meat eating and we thoroughly enjoyed the (tandoored/grilled/BBQed) starters meat and veg. The main course was the usual dishes of chicken(dont remember name) dal makhni and biryani. Though these are the usual dishes on any buffet you can easily say that they have been cooked by someone with a good culinary experience. The dessert though were quite a disappointment esp the diplomat pudding. It tasted too artificial like one you get at the regular cafes. To summarize: The ambiance is easy and classy at the same time. The service is top notch. The waiters know what they are serving and are really courteous. I did feel rushed initially with the kebabs rushing in faster than we could gulp them and we did have to make it explicit know before they slowed down.Ajay i think makes it a point to talk to all the customers and we did have a nice chat about the nice paintings all around the restaurant. The service is the best i have experienced in blore. The price i did feel was over by atleast 50-80 for what they offer. Put some more option like shrimp and crab and then may be the price is right.
The dessert have to improve.......

Not worth the money. Highly overpriced

I was reading very good reviews about this restaurant. Finally got an opportunity to try this place yesterday night. Our group mainly consisted of Non-Vegetarians.

The "buffet on the table" started with soup and Watermelon slices. It was followed by two chicken brabeques, mutton kebab and fish kebab. These were nothing out of the ordinary. Please dont assume this is anywhere close to BBQNations. Its just ordinary kebabs/bbqs.

The main course was more disappointing. There was just a very bad chicken biryani ,chicken gravy, dal makhani , gobi curry and naan/roti.

Also as someone mentioned below, the desserts were served in small plastic cups. There was ice-cream, jamun and a custard. Overall I think the buffet is worth close to 350 bucks and nothing more.

Going through the posts below gives us an impression there are roughly 3 out of 4 customers are extremely satisfied. I think someone is paying for the positive reviews about Barbeque Factory. Every time a negative review comes its masked by "vah excellent, experience like never before " reviews by these paid junkies.

PS: I am sure now Manager would reply apologizing/questioning what I said about BBQ Factory. Well my opinion is forever gonna be the title of this review.

Just another restaurant with a hefty price

Was reading a lot of reviews about this restaurant and decided to try it out last friday for our team lunch.

I couldn't find anything so great about this place other than the heavy cost of buffet.

Here is what you get for 600 rs per head
Starters:
1. mutton Shikampuri kebab - just fine
2. mutton sheek kebab - good
3. tandoori chicken - just fine
4. chicken tikka - just fine
5. fish kebab - not good.

And for main course you just have one chicken gravy and a very bad chicken biriyani.

desserts - nothing fancy here also
1. gulab jamun - not so good
2. ice cream - usual store bough one
3. diplomat pudding - not good

For all these 600 rs??

had a nice experience

Leaving apart soup not served hot, all the starters were awesome, perfectly cooked. we fres liked Fish, smoothly melts in the mouth. Food is not much spicy as south Indians prefer, yeah but optimal. Waiters were well dressed and served us very well. The Manager himself was personally taking care of all the things which was very notable. It was a buffet but no queues but ppl served and they served what ever we told them too. Name of the dishes were told before we ask and then served. We loved the starters and biryani was also good. Little disappointed to see no alcohol, at least wine and beer would look good on menu. Ambiance is optimal, music was good, paintings on the wall were good (actually they were on sale felt like dining in a Art Show), overall very good tummy full and happy cheers

Good but not so Great

Had been waiting for a while to dine at this restaurant. Quite a few reviews both positive and negative prompted me to check this place out.

Well, i did get this oppurtunity recently.

Let me briefly explain what i quite did and did-not like here and would hope gets into the Diaries of the owners. Again these are my personal opinions and needs no debates !!

Ambience and Service are good. While not too overbearing, the waiters ensured we dint really get bored waiting for the food to arrive/replenish.The concept of Buffet at the Table was a nice one.

Moong Dal shorba was very mildly spiced and tasted excellent ... prompted me to go for another portion.

Being the Vegetarian, i hate Mushrooms of any sort in my food. And if one of the Starter/Kabab for the day happens to be Mushroom, i would be highly disappointed and this is what exactly happened much to my dismay! So it was Starter minus One for me.
The Sweet potato, Pineapple and the rest i must admit were yummy.

The Watermelons with strawberry sauce (or whatever that was) tasted like plain sweet watermelons and nothing fancy. Could this part of the meal be made something more different and worth trying??

Honey paratha (which i was told needs to be had with the kabab in the center) was something i disliked.Took away the taste of the kababs and felt a little too wierd to be eaten standalone or with the chutneys/gravies.

Main course ... Rotis good, dals and the baigan bharta good. Pulav (with peas) not something i relished. Wish they had something more spicier/tastier like Dum biryani and the likes.

Dessert - Gulab Jamun yumm, ice-cream ok-ish. The funny sounding Diplomat pudding a definite Dislike (a jelly based pudding).
The main course and dessert section perhaps needs a serious relook.

Veg meal/pp/weekday costs Rs.430

I wonder if the menu on weekends are more interesting leading to loads of good reviews on Burrp.

All said and done, with some improvements to the menu, BBQ Factory might be considered for a Re-Try !!

Very good, 4.5 stars

Was at bbq factory over the weekend and was totally stumped .....awesome food, the starters/ kebabs are superb and the variety , was amazing ....there were so many that actually u donot need a maincourse ....the service was amzing too, fast and courteous, the waiter waiting on us exactly knew when i was ready for the next helping , excellent service ....the sweet potato tandoori and the pineapple tandoori were so delicious that even my one year old son was encouraging me to feed him more...I can talk only abt the veg starters bcoz we tried only veg but am sure the non veg stuff was jus as perfect.....

the only flipside was the maincourse , i mean its not bad but when the beginning is sooo good, u expect it to continue so, but the main course gravies were all sweet, there was variety but all of them tasted some what similar but again they bounced back with the desserts -- the gulab jamun was soft and the jelly was nice .

overall, the place is highly recommended and I will def go again and again .....

very good ambience and food

I went to barbeque factory with my hubby. When I entered the restaurant I thought it was like every other high standard restaurant with only presentation and normal food. My viewpoint totally changed once I started having their mouthwatering kebab's. There were so many variety of Kebab's and all of them were unique in their own taste. How could I forget their customer service. These people came again and again to us asking to serve more and more kebab's as they were unlimited. I have never seen such a customer service. In other places they dont even ask the customers again until and unless customers ask for it. My Birthday is on the coming wednesday and I am planning to take my office colleague.

I had heard about this place from one of my colleague and had been
thinking of going to Barbeque Factory since the last one month however
was tied up with work. Wanted to check out the kebabs and the much
heard about main food. Good I tried it...the place has been set up
nicely, staff is also very friendly and the best part was the food, kebabs were
upto the mark and the mains also not to be missed. Priced rightly not
to put a hole in my wallet so was impressed. Keep it up. Personally
told the manager that its been a year since I had such good north
Indian food in Bangalore.

Side by side great foodie paradise !! great ART!!

Two great restaurant side by side The great Indian Thali and barbecue factory , this whole building is full of restaurants , however these two restaurants are run by Ajay Alexander , that probably gives them an edge. the food is great in the ambience part which is very classy ,plus the art exhibition they are conducting to support the Kannada artists gives them a a very humane outlook, the food is exeptional as well honey paratha with shikampuri kabab , watermelon with strawberry vinegrette dressing and lots more. will be back.

Nice fusion music, good food

My family of 4 with 2 kids went to eat in Barbeque Factory today and it was a decent experience. The place is pretty big and open with room to breathe and a nice decor. We were seated and then asked to choose Veg/Non veg. Given this was our first time, it would have been nice to be informed how many courses of food there are and the order in which it will be served by a Host/Hostess when we were seated. We did not realize that the menu card was trying to convey that info until after leaving the restaurant. Anyways, what I really enjoyed was the interesting collection of Fusion music that was playing today, selected by Ajay. So thanks for that.

Don't have to stand in a queue for food(buffet)

If people need to learn customer service they should go to this place, you didn’t like anything tell the manger immediately and they try to make it differently for you , what I liked most was that even if it was like a buffet ,you don’t have to stand in a queue holding a plate in your hand , and serve yourself the food , well what’s the point of spending so much and still you have to work to get your food :) every thing comes to your table and the feeling is that its total value for money ,they have some thing like this in toscano in weekday lunches too.

Moderately good food, poor service

A small group of us from work went to Barbecue Factory for lunch. The restaurant is well appointed, comfortable chairs with the tables spaced apart so you have some privacy. The manager came up and explained what he called the 'concept', which essentially boils down to "we will serve you stuff, you eat'.
Soup was reasonably good. This was followed by something odd: a slice of watermelon covered with strawberry jam. They said this was to 'clean the palate' before tasting the kababs. This was somewhat silly, because the kababs were so heavy with masala that you don't need to 'clean your palate' to taste them.
The chicken tikka was good. Shikampuri was served with honey paratha, which could have been given a miss. The shikampuri itself was somewhat overwhelmed with masala.
The rest of the kababs all tasted exactly the same: you could not tell the difference with your eyes closed. Some of the veg kebabs were again smothered in sickly sweet strawberry sauce, pretty much spoiling them. There was also a batter fried fish, where you could not taste the fish at all because the masala in the batter was overwhelming.
For the main course, there were fairly standard rotis and gravies.
Desert was again fairly standard: some pudding (with more strawberry sauce on top), gulab jamuns, ice cream.
Coming to the service, the staff, though courteous, are in such a hurry to serve all the tables that its impossible to request anything from them: one of them also spilled soup on one of the customers.
Finally, do not try to give any feedback to the manager: he becomes abusive if you say anything even remotely negative, even if you say it politely.
All in all, it did not seem worth the Rs 600. Would have expected similar quality of food and service in the 300-400 range.

Nice Hospitality of Ajay, M.D.

Today we went to Barbeque Factory, Koramangala with my family, a group of six people, four non-veg. and two veg. Initially the speed of service was very slow but later on it improved. After serving soup, next watermelon was served which I found a little awkward as generally it is served as desserts. Paneer and pineapple was awesome, after one serving a little strawberry jam was put on pineapple pieces which didn't taste so good thats why we pointed out it to Ajay. My son and daughter-in-law didn't like the fish as it was deep fried so it was pointed out to him and he took great interest in cooking shallow fried fish and serving that which they liked. We got impressed by his hospitality and keen interest and concern in applying what customer wants which indicates growth and development of someone in the hotel industry.

BBQ factory USP is awesome food & Ajay

Before I start let me admit upfront that we are big BBQ and BBQ nation fans. We had our reservations when we decided to try BBQ factory. First things first, food is awesome and while service is slow, gives you time to chat up with Ajay!

Few salient points to this place and our visit:
1) This place may not score a #1 in terms of number of dishes on the buffet spread, but if you take the food that tingles your taste buds or total dishes : dishes that you truly like, this place scores a near 100%
2) Extreme flexibility - we tried the fish, however, it didn't appeal to us much. Ajay was much concerned and enquired what wasn't upto the mark with the vietnamese basa. We shared the feedback that probably the batter had high "ajwain". He took our critique and got us the same fish tawa fried without the batter. We loved it in the new avatar.
3) Good food goes very well with a good conversation, at least with us. And Ajay served both pretty well.

All in all, a good place to have on the map in Bangalore.

OK food with unpleasant service

This place is right behind the street from my house and we have been thinking of being there for quite some time. Finally on 14th Feb evening we had some guests coming over and we thought of trying this place out. Looking at the location( uptown place with some of the best restaurants around) and the concept I had high expectations.
But it was an unpleasant experience after all.
Its a spacious place and the ambiance was good with open kitchen and good interiors. The food was OK. Uncooked mutton and veg Shikampuri kababs kind of kills your tastebuds and very oily tandoori pieces, Chicken Tikka was pretty good and saved the grace. Main course was not bad.
Now the service part.
Let alone they coming and asking for service, its like they literally forget what you request them. You need at least 3-4 reminders with maddened faces to get served. We were in a group of five people and it took them more than 90 minutes to complete the first round of servings. It was a really annoying experience and even one of our guests joked and told this place should be named "Ghajini Factory". One of the waiters confirmed me about the complementary soda with the meal. The bills comes and I find all of them charged. I checked with the manager and he just denied it.
So it’s a OK place and try it once of you don’t get a reservation at “other” barbeque places and forget it.

Good food but a little tacky

We went here for lunch. The food is really good. Great kaabas perhaps among the best available in Bangalore. The staff were also very nice and kept asking us if we wanted repeats. A good experience if one wants to go out to just eat. Its not a place to go expecting fine dining. I noticed the dishes in which the main course was served had some curry dripping on the sides. This is a small thing but along with something in the atmosphere which I cannot quite pin down made me feel things were a bit tacky. Having said that I cannot take away from the kababs and the smiling staff which were really the heroes of the place. A must go when one is in a large group. I wont recommend this place for a romantic meal.

Ajay- I appreciate your response. I think taking such positive criticism so well will only make yourb restaurant even better. As I said I cannot really put down the reason for this feeling very clearly. One suggestion I can make is perhaps for tables right at the end you can perhaps have a small table set up near the table so that the servers dont need to walk the entire length of the restaurant when they serve. I agree your kitchen is transparent and was very clean.

Great Kebabs!

We visited Barbeque Factory on a weekday. It's a large place with plenty of room. There were a few tables taken that night.

Like most kebab places, they have a set menu which offers veg and non-veg fare. In the non-veg section, their gosht shikampuri kebab and murg tikka were excellent. The gosht shikampuri is wrapped in the honey paratha. It melts in your mouth. The variety of chutneys offered as accompaniments suit nearly everyone's taste- imli chutney, coriander chutney and mint chutney. The chicken tikka is unusually good - soft and succulent. Similarly, for the mildly spiced afghani murg. In addition, they had machi kandhari, the expected seekh kebab, which they called the jaipuri seekh. These are just the starters!

In the main course, there was the murg pasinda, baigan bharta, kali dal and chicken dum biryani and naans. By the time you reach the main course, you are rather full. This holds true for me, since I went all out with the starters and took second helpings. I think this is where they could possibly cut down. Less options in the main course would work.

The dessert was again quite large in variety- gulab jamun, pudding and ice cream. We shared the plate between the two since we had already overdone ourselves for the night.

This owner/manager was rather gracious and asked us how we were enjoying ourselves. The staff was attentive without hovering over us. In all a great experience, we would definitely go back for the kebabs. Although, we do wish that they serve alcohol soon. It's well-priced for what they offer and the best in that price range when it comes to kebabs.

Great food and value for money

I had gone to this restaurant with my friends. This was the first time I was visiting this restaurant and the food was amazing.
This has a fixed menu with on the table buffet system. The price for non-veg buffet is 534(inclusive of all taxes). We were first served the tomato soup, which was not all that great...we felt it was a bit too salty.
The starters were very good.. especially the ghost shikkampuri kabab with honey parantha. We even tried out the veg starters and all of them were pretty good.

The service was pretty good and fast. And most importantly the staff and the waiters were very friendly.
Later as all the tables were occupied, the MD of the restaurant Ajay Alexander was giving a helping hand and serving food.He is a very friendly person and made sure that we had each and everything on the menu and enjoyed it. Not very often do we see hotel owners giving a helping hand and interacting with the customers...

Later we were served the maincourse which was also very good. The Chicken dum biryani was amzing unlike in other restaurants where the main course is compromised for starters.
We all had overeaten by now but the desserts was yet to come.
Gulab jamoon,icecream and Diplomat pudding.
The pudding was the stand out.. we ordered one more of this.. its just one of those things which melts in your mouth, leaving the flavour behind.

If you are looking for a place similar to barbeque nation and do not want to spend as much, then this is the place to go to.

One suggestion to Ajay would be to have a bigger hoarding outside the building.. otherwise this restaurant goes unnoticed...

Not all that great

Took my teammates to this place for a treat. Starters were good but main course was absolutely disappointing. Not worth the price. They give a 10% discount only for team lunches with more than 10 people.

The valet parking attendant parked my boss's car in a No-Parking zone for which my boss was fined.

Chicken Tikka, Butter Chicken, Kabab at it best!

This is my second visit to this place and I have to admit this probably some of the best food I have had in Bangalore. Both the times I visited was for lunch. They have a set menu for Veg and Non-Veg. You get 5 starters (2 - chicken, 2 - mutton and 1 - fish) for the Non Veg.

The dal and butter chicken for the main course is delicious. Prices have gone up since the last time. But the taste and quality is fantastic! All I can say is try it to know it.

Please maintain the great quality!

No fish like barbeque factory fish !!

This is my 10th visit ( I am going to write a review every 10 visits) They now have the best fish in Bangalore, the best part being they are happy to serve you what you want how much ever you want, amazing customer service!! they could do with some more seats in the restaurant. Their mains seem to have improved to a great extent, however it seems to me that when I am so full of the starters maybe I judge the mains too harshly, they have afterall the best dal makhni you can get in town plus the methi chicken was really awesome , the biriyani was great so was the gulabjamun and diplomat pudiing, they could do with some innovation with the desserts.

Barb-e- queue Factory :)

Last evening we decided to dine out and the first name I recalled was "Barbecue Factory". I had read the reviews here and wanted to visit considering the number of 5 and 4 stars they have received from fellow burrpers.

For reservation I called 9686269976 it wasn’t picked up. 47505325 didn’t seem to connect so I called Just dial and was asked to dial 41505325 instead. I was able to book a table for 8:30pm.

To my surprise, I received a callback from 9686269976. It was Mr. Alexander. He returned the call once he saw my missed calls. He apologized and also confirmed my reservation. Now this is 5 star customer service! Impressed!

We reached, the valet parking folks were quite helpful and the receptionist very courteous. we were given a table of our choice ( We needed a sofa on one side as my 26 month old niece at times can be quite a handful on chairs).
The menu looked interesting and the soup arrived as we were done scanning through the menu card.
The soup was light and truly an appetizer. The four of us downed it in a minute or two. We don't prefer heavy soups and this one was terrific.
The mutton kebabs were superb and the chicken starter was one of the best I ever tasted! Fish was very well done as well.
Honey glazed parathas were unique. The chicken biryani was fresh and tasted great.
The bhindi masala tasted divine! in fact I asked for a second large helping of it! one of the best I've ever had!
The desserts were nice. The ice cream, pudding and the jamoon were authentic. The pudding was irresistible to say the least.

Overall, I would rate 5/5 for the quality and the quantity of the food served.

Feedback number one:
One cannot serve customers so slow. Once the soup and the 3 starters were done, it appeared the folks forgot us until they saw us yawning over empty plates.

While this happened, we wanted to confirm again what else was on the menu card, and the card came only post 3 reminders and 15 minutes of wait.

By the time the rotis/Naans arrived, we had nibbled off our chicken curry/Bhindi masala . So the curries had to come again! :)

Post asking twice for the bill, I volunteered to go to the counter and swipe my credit card. My niece by this time had become restless and wanted to go .

Mr. Alexander intervened after he saw me near the counter. He apologized and assured this feedback was noted and this would be taken care of. I appreciate that. He also came out to the lift lobby to apologize and explain again. I have already shared with 4 of my friends who work in the customer service industry this fine example of ownership. It’s critical for people in charge to interact with customers. Trust me this customer service attitude will work wonders if proactively executed.
I wish we spoke to him earlier. This dinner for me and my family was a lot of waiting over some great food. Having a feedback form circulated at the table probably will help capture these process improvement opportunities early. If he hadnt intervened, this review wouldn’t be pleasant to read :)

Second feedback would be to go green. we noticed that 2 out of 3 dessert bowls were plastic/disposable ones. 4 adults and a child had accumulated 7 plastic bowls. This adds to significant landfill and recycling them is expensive and non eco friendly. Not expected out of a fine dining place.

The final feedback would be to include a couple of salads and increase the choice and number of desserts. They had 3 great desserts, but their industry has set precedence by having half a dozen of desserts at least. Maybe a pastry, a macaroon and another Indian sweet would help.
Bbq factory have some great cooks and a greater commander. An efficient logistics to deliver food on time will make them the best in town!

Excellent.....!!!!!!

I went to Barbeque Factory after hearing a lot of good reviews from my friends....but my experience there far exceeded what I had heard. The staff took care of our baby when we were having food - was very much surprised by the gesture; hence we could focus more on the food. The ambience, food and service were awesome...a special mention must be made of the mutton kebabs, the fish and the hyderabadi biriyani. The desserts were also delicious - ice creams and puddings were amongst the best I have had in Bangalore. All-in-all...a wonderful dining experience....a must place to go for a foodie in Bangalore........:)

Best North Indian Buffet I have had in Bangalore

Just came back after having one of the best North Indian Buffets I have had in Bangalore. Mouth-watering starters followed by nice main course and desserts ( I did not have much space left in my tummy after the overfill of starters I had) :) And that wasn't even the best part about the place, the customer service was awesome!

I would really recommend the place to anyone looking for a great North Indian buffet in either veg or non veg.

(We did go to the place a few months back and totally hated the food; the only reason for going back was the owner (Ajay Alexander); he took our feedback that day and did not charge us a penny out of the normal 3500 odd bill; so we wanted to go there and give it another shot and thank god we did!!! I am going to keep coming back to this place whenever I crave good North Indian food.

All the best with your venture Ajay!!!

Excellant food...Must go place for foodies

We went to BBQ factory, reading thru the various reviews on Burrp.
And so take my word, every word written in here is true. I would just jot down my reviews in bullet points.

What you would Like:

- The location and ambience is really good.
- The starters, be it chicken tandoori, fish, tikka are just awesome, fresh succulent and well cooked.
- The signature dish i thought was the honey partha, with a kebab made of hung curd and meat. Out of this world taste.
- The fish kebab was fresh and steaming hot.
-The Tandoori, I thought would be in my opinion among the very best in Bangalore, not like what you get at the other popular BBQ outlet nearby.
- It was well cooked in tandoor, succulent and juicy. You would not require any dips and lemon to make it more tangy.
- The manager and owner Ajay were present themselves and looked like were taking real interest in ensuring customers satisfaction.

What you may not like:

- Though we had a booking, the hostess at front desk was little clueless and helpless at the beginning.
- The initial service was a bit slow, but that may be due to heavy rush of the new year.
- The main coarse , i thought, could not keep up to expectations set by the starters.
- The biriyani, was a little bland, being Hydrabadi style one.
- Gulab jamun was the instant " Gits " type ones.

But lets not criticize. To sum up, it was a wonderful experience. And its worth every penny of it, they charge , which is very moderate I thought.
I would highly suggest this place and is a must go for foodies, who have a taste for Kebabs.
