We went to this place after checking the reviews and all the 5 of us utterly disappointed. Starters - Chk lollipop and lemon chk were good. But then not briyani. They say it is a DUM briyani and they only what they mean by. None of us have any plans for making it back.
Interiors and Service is good.
Best For Take Away
We have ordered Biryanis several times from Biryani zone. Quality and taste are generally good with a reasonable in price. It has almost become a weekend affair for me. They have an efficient home delivery service in the area. There are kebabs and a few curries on the menu. But I wouldn't look beyond the biriyani here.
Delicious Butter Chicken!
I knew that this place serves one of the best biriyanis in town. This time however I decided to try their other fare. Ordered Roti and Butter Chicken. Was in for a pleasant surprise. Butter chicken pieces were nice and tender and the gravy was amazing.
Now I have more than 1 reason to go back to Biriyani Zone!
Never felt so threatened before!!
Thought of trying this joint with friends on Friday noon and sincerely, I have never come across such restaurant in my life. Wish I could say anything about the food but could not have the chance to try it. The attendant was absolutely hostile! HE LITERALLY FOUGHT WITH US, only short on threatening with dire straits because I asked him "twice" about the waiting period. Next came the manager; a person who was quite interested to just prove his point no matter what said to him. Left the place with a bitter taste promising to myself that I would never visit it again.
dum biriyani dum ka na sakthe ek se kum
this place can't be described. authentic biriyani cooked in fire wood is what the tagline reads and this place lives up to that to the fullest extent. crowded on weekday afternoons so you must imagine how shtunning it is. not a bad ambience but not so good either. service is sooper fast. ideal lunch course : take 150 rs - a starter and a "dum" biriyani - sweet pan. I don't think you should expect more than this. I would say hog manje hog :D
I am a Connoisseur Biryanis and a die hard fan of Mutton Biryani in particular. I read good reviews on Biryani Zone and want to give a try. I went there with my family last month.
The dine in place is barely decent enough but decided not to opt for dine in with family after seeing the ambiance and crowd there. Instead opted for a Take Away.
Ordered 1 Mutton Biryani (Rs. 140) + 1 Chicken Biriyani (Rs 130). This was sufficient for three of us. They also have family pack. To my pleasant surprise the order carefully packed and piping hot was ready in 3 minutes. It was still very hot after I reached home 20 minutes later.
Mutton Biryani: ----------------- Tasted as authentic as you can get any where in Bangalore. It is better than the Hyderabad Biriyani house in all respects. The quantity is generous and more than what I expected. There are 4 to 5 medium size mutton chunks tender, flavorful and tasted heavenly. My wife and daughter who normally don't prefer mutton gave a thumbs up to my surprise. Even I could slurp the tasty marrow from one of the bone Shank.
Overall I would give 4.5 out of 5. It would have been 5 but for the Rice which is more on the softer side and the Spice level which is certainly higher even for the palate of an Andhrite like me.
The Mutton Biryani at Goodluck Cafe, Pune comes very close to this in taste, though the rice variety they use there is much thicker and inferior. I make it a point to Visit Goodluck cafe for its Mutton Biryani when ever I travel to Pune which I does often.
Chicken Biryani: ------------------ This is equally good.. na.. Better. The quantity is generous here . 2 big Chicken pieces + a small one. I can't find a suitable adjective to describe how good the Chicken pieces tasted. Right level of tenderness and texture and the Spices are well absorbed by the pieces. My wife and daughter also concur with me on this.
Normally I do not like chicken leg pieces. I do not know what magic the Chef did on these leg pieces they tasted the best I ever had.
The gravy that was served tasted like authentic Mirchi Ka Salan but I didn't find any Green Mirchi in the Gravy! Though Chicken Biryani in Hyderabad Biryani House is comparable to this, the Gravy served there is bad.
Overall I would give 4.5 out of 5. It would have been 5 but for the Rice which is more on the softer side and the Spice level which is certainly higher. I am now hooked to Biryani zone. Lets see how consistent they are.
Third time in 2 weeks! And I still can't get enough of the chicken biriyani at Biriyani Zone. True to its name, the Biriyani here is really good. If you enjoy hot/spicy food make sure you ask for a double masala Biriyani and fresh lime soda to go with it. The only grouse i have of the biriyani here is that the chicken pieces are massive. I am somehow not a great fan of big pieces of chicken/mutton in a biriyani.
They don't serve soups, but have a variety of starters of which Sholay kabab is a must try. The meat is generally tender and the preperation is complete.
