big disappointment. no value for money.
We have been looking longingly at all the chocolate inside everytime we pass by the Lounge. We finally went in and as i normally judge a pastry/dessert shop by its 'tiramisu', we had their tiramisu. We had trouble finishing even half of it. It was not even close to being a 'tiramisu'. Had the name been something else, it was still pretty bad. Even the coffee was just passable, nothing to rave about. We will definitely not be going back nor recommending it to anyone even if they cut their prices in half.
Have been very regular here.....we know bliss delivers....every occasion of our friends and family is taken care by Bliss....They are just so full of ideas and innovation....The cakes they do are par beyond a Five star hotel also....
Dropped in last evening and was amazed to see the New Addition to the Cake range, its simply Mouthwatering....
Every time i have a Family function and Bliss cakes are served....i i am asked is "where do you get it from"...i wold definitely recommend Bliss to all my friends and family....
Up there with the best
Bliss had a nice atmosphere, the decor was lovely and the service from staff was amazing. I tried several chocolates but my favourites were the Masala Chai, Hazelnut Crunch and the Blood Orange. They were amazing. These chocolates were up there with the best I have tasted from around the world. I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend Bliss chocolate to all my family and friends.
The worst chocolates I have ever had.
A box of assorted chocolates from this place (must be from their UB city outlet)came to me as a gift by one of our international visitor, probably they felt the place looks premium and so the quality should be, tasted 2 varieties of them, one was of mint flavour and the other of some things smeared with gold color. Managed to eat the mint one with difficulty and was about to spit the other one, I could feel putrefied foul sensation while swallowing, I think the cocoa butter used had become stale. When I felt some kind of uneasiness in the stomach that night I couldn't resist the urge to give them a feedback, called their UB city outlet the guy said the gold colored was of suguarfree variety and that might be the reason I felt that way, oh my god, what an explanation, hats off to him for this.
I would say even the commercial brands like Lindt, Mars or products like cadbury's silk tastes far better than these which are claimed to be premium ones.
Copy of Max Brenner SHIT SHIT Place...
Was there in banglore on weekend went to Bliss chocolate lounge which is actually copy of Max Brenner from Australia.. i ordered the hot chocolate which was decent Spanish Churros it was awful ...soggy and can taste the bad oil in the churros..waffle i was happy i will get some thing like Max brenner but it was shocking... no comments about this place will never go back again...if you copy something please be good at it..
Good chocolate, great latté
The best caffe latté we have found in Bangalore. The espresso I had was a too watery and had no crema.
The chocolates are good but somehow not up to the Godiva or Neuhaus level. Cakes are beautiful and taste good also.
It has a nice atmosphere, and is a welcome respite from the horrendous noise and music blasted in the Forum Mall.
Not That Great - Chocolate wise
I have been eyeing this place for quite a while now and finally got the chance to try it out. The decor is absolutely amazing and the seating is great. I particularly loved the waterfall located near one of the end walls of the restaurant and my friend and I sat down comfortably, close to it. The chocolates on display are innovative but I was disappointed with their taste. I ordered a steeply priced (Rs 40 each) Banana truffle and a Masala Chai (tea) chocolate which I didn't really enjoy. I didn't find the Banana truffle bananaey enough. The Masala Chai chocolate also didn't seem to have a filling remotely reminiscent of Masala Chai, though my friend said it did. The chocolate snack which we ordered next, was equally disappointing - a chocolate waffle with honey and chocolate sauce. The chocolate waffle wasn't what I expected and it was too flat and not really of nice-tasting chocolate. The honey was fine but, the chocolate sauce.. well I have had much better. Service was excellent. No fault to be found there. The music was also great as was the lighting. The menu is quite extensive and they did have a very yum-looking selection of cakes at the "cake display" counter. The average rating that I would give this place, is merely because the chocolates and chocolate snack which we had, didn't live up to my expectations of what good chocolate should taste like. However, I am willing to give this place another shot, maybe primarily because it is the only place of its kind in Bangalore and I do so love chocolate.
I second yuvna.damani
I had been to Bliss twice. Both the times it was disappointing!
First time I ordered a certain hot chocolate (cant remember the name). it was served lukewarm and was too sweet. When I mentioned this, the owner said, If the drink is boiled, the chocolate gets a burnt taste.
I thought, the store just opened and they have teething problems, will be ok soon.
So I went again after a few weeks and ordered a chocolate cake. It was too sweet! Tasted like some accidentally poured a jar of sugar into the cake batter!
All this for sky high prices: the drink - Rs. 100, the chocolate cake Rs. 90.
Since I am a chocolate lover, I might go there just once more to see if they have improved. If they haven't, I might say "Adios, Bliss".
A place like bliss really does have a lot of potential, what with the nice interiors and lovely branding. But it was a let down completely.
I agree with the previous review about the stale cake. They not only taste, but even look stale!
Even the prices are sky rocketing for the sort of product they offer. The variety didnt whet my appetite as well.
I would think they cater to the cash rich and time poor residents of Whitefield who have no other choice than to stop by when they get a choc. craving.
Don't think I'd visit them again in the near future.
Not worth the hype
Went there last weekend after reading a few reviews - it was no big a deal honestly. Yes, the quality of chocolate they use was good - but we didn't like the stale (alteast 4-6 days old) cakes. You know it is stale the minute you take a bite of it. Though, we all agreed that the quality of choc they used was good - it isn't enough for us to go back to. We tried the Mud Pie, some truffles (which were just about ok), and the Fudge Cake.
For a chocolate place, they can do MUCH better! It was below our expectations.
This place is incredible... the decor is one of the best in Bangalore, and the products are amazing... as it is a new concept we were told that a limited menu is on offer and more products will be brought in over the next few months... the current line up is impressive enough though!! they have chocolate cakes, hot chocolates, milkshakes, pancakes, waffles, spanish doughnuts and of course chocolate pieces!! one of the best "date places" in Bangalore too... i think my friends and i have found our new hangout!!
Expected more out of the Chocolate
It is called "Chocolate Lounge". Definitely lives up to the lounge. Reminds me of an expensive Cigar and wine lounge, with the wood flooring, plush leather couches and nice lighting.
The Chocolate part leaves more to be desired. I mean, the entire milkshake section has nothing specifically chocolate. Even the cakes, the choice is really small for some place which has chocolate in the name. Don't get me wrong, the taste is great, but it doesn't live up to the hype the name creates.
Places like Painted platter and Corner House have more chocolate variants in the menu!!
Overall, worth one visit, you'll figure out there isn't much to go back there for, unless you are having a chocolate craving and are in whitefield.
