Full Paisa Vasool!
It was long weekend and most of the city folks were outside to enjoy a nice break, but unfortunately all our plans to travel did not happen and we had to manage enjoying four days of holidays at home and what better way than pigging out.
We were a family of 15 members and a sudden plan to go out is very taxing if there are no reservations but then the question of going somewhere near and good place gets solved thanks to Cloves.
We had senior citizens, youngsters, kids and of course middle aged people, so to get a place suiting to most of their requirements was a challenge in it itself.
Clove was suggested by one of my friends who is also a foodie, its ambiance is decent, has bar and has decent parking space.
Its easily located and is in same area as of Maiya's. Now lets drill down to food and service which forms the basis of this review.
We ordered veg and non veg platter and waited and waited and waited. So either you need to have loads of time to kill or patience for the hot morsel. Kids were the first ones to show impatience and I had to request the staff to get it fast for more than 2 times, but once the yummy food arrived we immediately forgot the delay as the taste made up for it. We ordered lasuni kabab and the chicken melted in our mouth. The roti naan, balti murg, chicken which was boneless and soft. In rice items we ordered the fried rice and biryani which also good. For veggies the platter was really good with lot of items we non veggies were full of envy of as our platter had only four varieties but six in veggies. Clove special veg gravy and curd rice with one more veg gravy was ordered.
Once the taste of food and quality is good half the battle is won but service killed the whole fun, at last when the bill arrived we were surprised that it was below our expectation and it brought a big smile on my sisters face, who was paying for it as part of treat !
The staff were apologetic for delayed service hence I don't mind giving this place another chance.
It's tough to find a good place for Non-Vegetarians in Jayanagar but Clove makes up for the scarcity.
We went there in a group of 7 + 1 (Child) after lot of research and it is worth it.
As its T20 season they had projectors and LCDs showing cricket. Ambiance is decent and Food is very good (though not excellent), particularly keeping the price in mind.
Non Veg Chicken Platter was good and worth the price, it contained 20 pieces of chicken or 4 or 5 types (don't remember it exactly), priced @ Rs500/-
Veg Platter was good too, Paneer was soft and tasted like paneer.
Balti Murgh (Rs180/-) and Kadai Paneer were good too
Chicken Biryani was average. Rice was tastier than chicken pieces :-P
Note: They serve alcohol too.
Definitely worth trying and it is good option for a casual dinner in Jayanagar
