Average food, substandard service
The Corner House restaurants/ice cream parlours seem to be quite popular in Bangalore, but the Marathahalli location is quite awful.
Food: Had the vegetable dosa. Its very oily, has a thin layer of overcooked vegetables with no taste.
Service: It is self-service place. You pay at the cashier, receive a yellow receipt and a white receipt and submit the yellow receipt to the counter to get your food. It was my first time at this place and didn't know about this system. The cashier only gave me the white receipt and the food counter guy wouldn't give my food without the yellow copy. I had to go back to the cashier and fortunately he was able to find the yellow copy on the floor near his desk. The cashier was polite but the food counter guy was extremely rude for no reason.
The place is dusty since it is open-air and next to parking lot with vehicles coming and leaving continuously spitting out their exhaust fumes on to you and your food.
The best dosas, ice creams, chaats, etc.
I have visited this wonderful place innumerable times and have come out as happy every time, without exception.
To sum it all up - "They are the best in everything they prepare. Period."
I have had some of the best chats here (priced nominally at around 30-45 bucks). The alliance of the masalas is all perfect. Simply mouthwatering.
Believe me, once you have a dosa here, you'll never like it anywhere else but here. They are prepared with pure (Nandhini) ghee and even the chutneys and sambhar provided with it are superb.
Coming to the main item of Corner House - Ice creams and desserts - I can't describe them much as I have had less of these, but whatever I have had (DBC, HCF, Fresh strawberries with ice-cream, etc. ) I've liked it.
Seating available: around 100 to 120 approx.
Cons: Heavy rush in the evening on weekends.
