Dosa on Firewood
My friend and I had noticed this place a few times while loafing around in Jayanagar. The 2 foodies decided to try this out on a weekend evening. Its a very small place divided into 2 sections. The inner one being the kitchen where they make Dosas, Paddus and others and the outer section was for the queue to place the order and collect the orders and also a small slab provided that could be used to stand and eat. Known of the Benne Dosa, there were no 2 thoughts before placing the order.
The TRP of this place is, they use fire wood to make the Dosas here! This was the first time I came across something like this in Bangalore to make Dosas!!!
Both of us ordered for Davanagere Benne Dosa and we got it after a time gap of 15mins. There were already a few waiting for get theirs before ours. The Dosa is thick and Crispy, however failed to impress us with the taste. I dont know what, but there was something lacking. Not sure if it was coz of the batter. Due to loads and loads of butter, the Dosa was indeed heavy and our plan of trying the Paddu was dropped.
An average place and one could try to taste and experience something different. Especially the dosa made on firewood.
