Biriyani Heaven !!!

I'm one of those persons who believes that Biriyani is the greatest dish ever made. It's food for not just your stomach, but your soul as well ! I'd go to any lengths to lay my hands on a Biriyani. Hell, I could even fight a war over it maybe !

Having said that, over the years I've been searching for the best Biriyani in town and of all the places (and various types of Biriyani) that I've been to, I can categorically say that HBH is the best !!! { I'd prefer the Malabari style any day (because I'm basically a Malabari) but this Hyderabadi one is quite high on my list too }.

Every time I visit HBH I decide that I'd try something other than Biriyani but that pledge breaks the moment I step in to this place and the amazing aroma of Biriyani spices wafts into my nostrils and senses. So all I have tried is Biriyani and some other Chicken starter items, which I must say haven't disappointed at all.

I always order Biriyani and top it off with a Sweet Fresh Lime Soda and Maghai Pan from the store outside. All-in-all this is not your "fine-dining" place but the Biriyani served here is undoubtedly one of the finest in Bangalore. So just go all out and enjoy :) !!!

Delivery Service is Bad !!Do Not Order From This Place

We from Dell Computers, Domlur have been ordering from Hyderabadi Biriyani house for ages (almost like 5 years) and although the food is good, the delivery service definitely needs improvement. While they charge us INR 30 as delivery charge (while all others deliver for free) they are always hesitant to come inside the premises and deliver the food. Even on 1st October 2013, we ordered for 4 Chicken Biryanis and the delivery guy even before he started from his place called and asked to come to the main road and when we asked where was he, he informed that us that he is starting from the restaurant. We asked him to come inside to which he rudely replied he can't and wants us to be standing out while he arrives. We asked him to come and give us a call which he refused to do. So for what effing reason are we paying the delivery charges. He was rude during the entire conversation which is absolutely unacceptable. Further when he came he arrived only with 3 chicken biryanis instead of 4 and after talking with the restaurant guys he went back with an assurance to get the 4th biryani. We paid the money for 3 biryanis along with the delivery charge of INR 30. He came after 90 minutes with the fourth biryani and again a delivery charge of INR 30. When we asked why do we need to pay the delivery charge again although we made an order of four biryanis and it is their mistake that they only brought three the first time, he denied and said that we need to pay the delivery charge of INR 30. Although we returned the Biryani and decided never to order from Hyderabadi Biriyani house, we ask Burrp to communicate to Hyderabadi Biriyani house. If they are ready to lose their daily order of few thousand bucks from Dell as we are now thinking of enlightening all the employees of Dell about this misbehavior and fraudulent way of the restaurant. Just to give you an example, entire Dell orders a minimum of INR 10 K - 12 K order every single day. Hope they would be happy to know that they would be losing this entire order soon.

Worst Biriyani

Chicken biryani was the worst, in quality it was very very bad. Even kebab was just colored red, there was no taste , no crispiness. Even the price is not worth. Please avoid going here.

Authentic

For authentic Hyderabadi biriyani , this is the place to visit in Bangalore. Excellent quality food served and tastes real good. My wife is a big fan of Mutton Biriyani and Chicken Biriyani, me being a vegetarian, Veg Biriyani (Call it OxyMoron) , but that too is really good, only problem while taking away the food is their attitude as someone complained here. They behave as if they are doing some charity even after taking around 160 Rs. per plate. That attitude should change. Rest OK.

Its not the old Biryani House

Went for a take away last week and the biryani gave was sticky as if the rice was over cooked and when asked about the same to the one who is sitting in the counter said " Rice was coming as the production was not upto the mark and in March to Sep we will get rice" that was shit reason and its not first time as i had experiecned the same so many times .
Things to remember before going there
1.)Dont take a parcel for biryani as most of the rice will be sticky and rest is masala
2..)Throw away if its spicy bcz it was not fresh to cover the stinking smell they add the chilli powder
3.)Never and ever take a parcel for dry items .. will surely get shocked ... dont order for cool drinks/lime soda u will be screwed.

Rest all is upto u who wants to go .. its just a suggestion

Service SUCKS!!!

The attitude SUCKS even if it is for a home delivery. I think they should hire someone who is well behaved. May be they think they can survive the competition in this industry with just their biriyani. BUT, that has started sucking too. It has lost its QUALITY & QUANTITY. The price has increased and the quality has decreased drastically. Also, the order is always forgotten or delivered late. They blame us for delivering delay. WTF!!!!
No more a Hydrabadi Biriyani fan!! BUH BYE!!

Ignore the customer at your own peril.

P.S - No option to skip rating so giving one star :P

Now an Ex-loyal customer!

Good Biryani, but Fading service

I have visited this place umpteen times in the past 2+ yrs. I loved their Mutton Biryani to be precise. Infact I have on many occasions got many of my colleagues along with me to lunch there.
Their service is decent (after you remind them of your order though)!

But of late their service is failing them and the staff is also rude in their behavior. The other down side of dining here is that they accept only cash, which can be a pain at times when you are (or your friend is) throwing a treat.
They definitely got to start accepting card/coupon payments.

Due to waiters' rude behavior, I've almost stopped visiting them since during my last 2 visits, I had to leave my plateful of Biryani due to their annoying, arguing & I-don't-care attitude.

Visit them but don't expect much in terms of service.

Biryani is gone from good to worse

I have been eating Biryani since 2005 and the food quality is getting worse and last time when I had picked since 2 weeks ago the food was overcooked and the biryani was like a white rice.

Less Spicy/tasty

I am regular to Hyderabad Biryani since its inception on Airport Road. It used to be very spicy and tasty during early days, but now it ruined... less tasty/spicy. Even the price is being increased quite often. One more biggest drawback is they neither accept SODEXHO nor CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS, this is really non-sense.

The House of only Biriyani n nothing else...

I have a theory on restaurants: You go to restaurants either for the food, or for the company or for both. What further aids this decision making are price, ambience and service.

Hyderabad House is one place I’d go only for the food. I don’t think they even intended to work on their ambience. It’s not the place where you can bond with your buddies, or gossip about the hot new girl who joined your office or bitch about your team mates over beer, bones and bonhomie. Nope….. you just go there, have the biriyani and walk out feeling satisfied with the taste. Period.

In the days of our dads and moms, fine dining used to refer those restaurants whose names ended with Sagar (prefixed by ‘Sukh’ or ‘Shanthi’), Bhavan (Arya, Saravana etc, etc) and the like. And the ambience at Hyderabad House would fall into this category – you’ll have waiters dressed up in waistcoats that they’re not used to, you’ll have air conditioners which are never switched on and you’ll have the waiters who bring your food with one dish stacked above another with the underside of one dish resting on your biriyani. But you would not mind as you don’t expect them to be otherwise.

It’s for the food that you’ll most probably have to stand in queue to get a seat on Friday afternoons. Yup, Friday afternoons get very crowded here and you would need to wait for a while to get a table. We worked out of this situation by making sure we reach there by 12:30. After 1, it’s almost definite that you would need to wait.

Where is it: We went to the one on HAL Airport road, and it’s situated on the first floor next to Papa John’s Pizza, near the Total Mall(landmark). You might have issues with parking, but two wheelers should not have any problem. There is a small road adjoining the building and you could park down this road.

Food: The food is easily good, nothing earth shaking however. Another commendable good thing is that my vegetarian friend also found something she liked. The obvious recommendation here is the biriyani – both chicken and mutton. The meat is well cooked, soft and tender and the spices are well blended in with the rice. It’s not too spicy either. The last time the four of us went there, we ordered two chicken biriyanis, one mutton biryani and Chilly chicken… the herbivore amongst us ordered Paneer Tikka and Butter Naan. All of us were happy with the food and washed it down with chilled Sprite. I personally think two biriyanis can be shared between three light eaters, but we had a heavy eater amongst us, namely yours truly :). We were quite full with it so we never really ventured into the desserts section.

Ambience: The ambience, as I mentioned earlier, is not really great. And I don’t think they intend on making it any better either. It’s clean and gives you that ‘Shanthi Sagar’ feel. The AC seems to have a grudge with us as it never seems to work when we’re around but since we never felt excessively warm, we always tend to overlook it.

Service: Again, not exactly the best in the world – but the thing is, you don’t expect any better service here. You would just expect them to take your order, bring your food and fill your empty glasses. And they do that. Of course, they might have a finger in your ware while bringing it over, you might find the glass may be unclean or a dish may be brought rested on top of another; of course, it’s not always but if you do find them doing the above, don’t be surprised. You’re just here for the food. Just like some 30 others in front of who’ll be waiting in queue for the same. :)

Our bill for 2 chicken biriyanis, one mutton biriyani, Chilli chicken, Paneer Tikka and Butter Naan with three Sprites came to around Rs 800/-, which is kinda decent.

Only suggestion is – be there at 12:30, if you going for a Friday lunch. We keep going there at least once a month for the yummy biriyani, so I’m a follower of the House of the Hyderabadi (oh by the way, my hyderabadi friend says that the food in this house is closest to authentic hyderabadi ?). Nevertheless, good biriyani. :)

Best Hyderabadi Biryani at Bangalore

Again based on thr Burrp's recommendation I tried out the Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani..for some one who has stayed in Hyd for 15 yrs its something which is one of the best hyderabadi biryani which bangalore can offer...the other place in bangalore for best hyderabadi biryani would be Matru's Palace in 9th Block near Ragigudda temple..its a good competitor for this joint..both places the biraynis are nice and spicy..giving you the authentice hyderabadi flavour..Rates are again more than average around Rs140 for Mutton Biryani.

Veg Biryani?? WTF

The Biryani tastes good, being a vegetarian I ordered a Veg Biryani, and guess what ?? I found a piece of a Chicken Bone. The Manager looked at me as I did a crime showing the bone to him and the waiter simply took the bone away "unrepentantly" with a twisted face as of this a regular thing. Probably they serve Veg Biryani minus the chicken. I never turned up there again. I would suggest all the Vegetarians not to order biryani there.

Unbeatable biryani at unbeatable price

When the name of the Restaurant clearly announces its expertise, why make a fool of yourself by ordering anything else!!
Just use your fingers to eat it and you would not want to wash them.

This place has the best veg-hyd biryani in bangalore. All the rest of the places with similar names are only imitations of the real hyderabadi biryani this place serves.

Good biriyani, but other stuff awful

Great chicken biriyani. But the mutton in mutton biriyani was really rubber solid. The raitha and side curry were really bad. Prawn fry was really awful - I was left wondering whether I was eating prawns or some rubbery stuff. Service is ok, not that great. They have realized that people come there anyways, so they dont bother even if you complain about any bad food item.

A great take-out joint

My honest two cents: the biriyani is mind blowing. If you like hyderabadi biriyani it will wow you beyond words but trust me you don't want to wait here to be served. The wait is gruelling and frankly seeing other people being served while you wait is painful. So just call ahead and get a take-out. Enjoy the awesomeness that is hyderabadi biriyani.

Wonderful Biryani

We recently ordered Biryani from Hyderabadi Biryani to our office for team lunch.

It came on time and was delivered hot. Both the veg and the non-veg ones were exceptionally delicious. I had Mutton and Chicken Biryanis and both of them were mindblowing. Mutton in the biryani was cooked perfectly and the aroma had thoroughly seeped into the rice. The quantity in one biryani is sufficient for 2 people and they do not skimp on the number of meat pieces in the biryani (unlike a couple of other places). Overall, I would vote it to be the best mutton biryani in the town for this price. Absolute value for money.

Couple of negatives were - Raita with the biryani was very watery and average in taste & the mirchi salan was extremely hot and spicy. So accompaniments remained essentially untouched.

My suggestion for the home delivery - make the deliveries in boxes and not in plastic packets.

Definitely worth a try for those wanting to taste authentic Hyderabadi biryani.

Great Biryani

This place is located adjacent to Kemp fort (now total mall). Parking for 2 wheeler can be done on side road. No parking spots available for 4 wheeler.

Ambience is traditional and average. Service (especially if you are ordering standard items like dum biryani) is fast and slightly hurried in rush hours.

Though the place serves all kinds of veg and non veg food, people come here for non veg food only. And especially biryanis.

The biryani's have good aroma, and taste. Very yummy. The cost is around 250/- per head, which is good value for money in my opinion.

My only grouse against the place is their inconsistent home delivery policy. Everytime I call them for home delivery, they have a different policy on whether they will deliver at home or not.

Yummy Biryani

This place is probably one of the few 'no strings attached' places , where they mean food ----and food is the top priority.
The sitting is decent. The food is really good, apt quantity for an indiviual. A special chicken biryani for one person is around Rs. 180-190 and comes witha dose of curry and salad. The biryani will have atleast one leg peice and one more chicken piece.
The place is only and highly recommended for biryanis. The lassi, curd, lemon juice are streictly decent and slightly over priced for the quality. But biryani i maintain is really worth every penny.

finally biryani...

moved to bangalore from hyderabad about a year back and had been looking for a good biryani joint. (thanks to burrp i have found the other mandatory joints like chinese, burgers, mughlai etc). it took me a year and a lot of hit and trial to finally chance upon this place that came as close as i can expect to paradise from hyderabad.
slightly oily and spicy but on the whole a great option. they have other branches i think one definitely on residency road i think...
the ambience is average but so is the price so its ok.

Meri sapno ki biryani

This place lives up to it's name as a Biryani house. The main fare on offer is Biryani and it's as authentic Hyderabadi as it gets. If you're a health freak, you want to stay away though. The biryani is greasy and made with tons of ghee. I haven't tried very much else here though they have a pretty comprehensive andhra food menu. The biggest issue I have with this place is the total lack of any parking space.
