Simply Classy

Walking into the beautiful Oberoi property, it is difficult not to be overwhelmed by the emphatic ambience and the extremely hospitable staff ( they're so well trained that it makes you wonder what you did to deserve this kind of reception).
The restaurant is located at the very end on the east side.
Two of us visited for dinner to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant ambience however is a lot more informal, and makes you feel at ease. With class and an old world regal charm, the restaurant impresses throughout. Although they do not serve main course in an outdoor environment, the adjoining bar does serve kebabs and other appetizers outside. Given a lovely breezy night, we would have enjoyed our meal more in an open environment. However, the next best option is to take a table that overlooks their sprawling garden. It might be a better idea to visit the restaurant for lunch, as the view is more pronounced then.
We opted for the a la carte menu. The menu is extensive, with options from Indian, Mediterranean and other cuisines. We ordered the well-reviewed seafood pizza and chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate fudge sauce.
The seafood pizza was a bit of a let down. It didn't pack a punch in terms of flavour, nor did it deliver on the crispiness of the crust. Also, perhaps the dough was not made bubbly and springy enough.
The brownie with ice cream was a no-competition show stopper. A fudgy brownie with a moist, intensely chocolatey interior ( molten chocolate!), coupled with a dense and creamy vanilla bean ice cream topped with a chocolate fudge sauce is sure to send you to another level of bliss.
(Find the attached photos).
The prices will make your wallet a lot lighter. Save the visit for a special occasion.

Breakfast buffet

Wide range of food. everything was fresh and tasty. eggs were made fairly well. different north indian, south indian and continental options. Everything one would expect at a 5-star hotel morning spread (including the slight bias towards foreign diners) - but no 'wow' factor.

Average food but nice ambiance

The restaurant was empty when my husband and I arrived. We took this as a poor sign but were pleased with the service and overall the food was good. I ordered the chicken tikka makhani and he ordered the tenderloin lasagna. The chicken was good but the lasagna was nothing like Italian style lasagna. It was tasty but actually far too meaty then pasta-ish. The service was great (what do you expect where you are paying $$$) and a few other guests came in but in general I think the restaurant only really is attended by Oberori guests.
