BIG CHEATS......STAY AWAY!!!
These guys are big cheaters.I used to be a regular visitor of this place. Last week i went to there. I paid the bill amount with my debit card. Without asking me they swiped my card twice....and money got deducted from my account twice. I logged in to my system then and there and showed them the transaction from my online bank account. Still they were not agreeing. And on top of that, one of the staff out there was behaving so very rudely with us. He shouted and said on the face that "I am sorry we will not pay u pack the money". Thankfully the bill amount was only Rs. 385. Though I liked their food and ambiance and visited the place multiple times, but now I am not going to step in there ever.....
To Ocean: Very bad guys!!! u are clearly showing us how bad ur business is going that u have to cheat people for money like this. Guess u have already ruined your status already.......
Awful!! Beware of this place
I have my own reservations the moment I see the word "Family Restaurant" along with the name of the restaurant.. but I m not here to discuss that :-)
One of my friends and I had been there for lunch today. We ordered for a pomfret Tandoori and a Pepper Chicken Steak. I want to be a little generous in calling the pomfret tandoori 'edible'. The chicken steak was horrendous. Folks if you know the superlative of horrendous, please feel free to substitute it. The meat itself was okay. But the preparation was screwed up. It was dipped in some dark brown pepper gravy and was given some vegetables(kind of oily fried ones) and rice(dark brown which resembled 'puliyogare'). We had just two peices of chicken and wasted all the rest. The waiter came smiling and removed the plates later and did not even have the courtesy to ask why we had not taken the meal.
Okay, I am going to sum up :-)
Whats not good here...
1) cheap plastic plates they server their guests
2) no one has any idea on whats on their own menu(the waiter couldnt differentiate a cocktail and a mocktail)
3) Poor taste and presentation
4) Very dark ambience (but again some might like it)
1) My mug of draught beer was great(yes.. I managed to get my quota of alcohol for the day!!)
2) Pricing is reasonable
3) Nice pop music with decent speakers
I would never even think of visiting this place again unless THEY pay ME for having THEIR food!! (which is unlikely) :-)
Overhyped Food not fresh/pathetic
Went for the first time - Had mexican chicken salad - WAS OLD AND PATHETIC.The salad mix was more like Kimichi Salad and they gave whole fried pieces of chicken all mixed up in tomato sauce :)
CHICKEN BURRITO - Again horrible. The wrap was SO HARD and thick and they did something such that all the ingredients stuck to the wrap. Since the wrap was hard, thought could eat atleast the fillings
WILL NEVER STEP IN AGAIN and mind you, its not so cheap for the kind of pathetic food they serve.: CHicken burrito - 170 and chicken salad - 120.
Awesome Mexican Food & Peaceful Ambience
A damn cheap & affordable place with good mexican food but limited Indian varieties & liquors (I think this makes the ambience gud!).. Not a great place for Indian food lovers... Service can be better.. Veggies shud try Malai kumbh & Veg chilli Mexican main course.. Yummy!
Good Food !!!!
Been to there two times with friends, tried fried rice, prawns biriyani and mutton biriyani.
The food is tasty and not at all pricy as well. Biriyani is having some extra ghee taste which make is very delicious. Had sweet corn chicken soup, costs around Rs70, which is again good and economic.
Descent food and family friendly environment
We went to this restaurant as family with children and enjoyed a few drinks without having to listen to loud music like other pub and restaurants.
Had nice grilled chicken and Shashlik which was I have tasted once in London.....it was really nice and we would like to go back here again.
Disappointing experience they do not know service
Very disappointed. We came to this restaurant searching and we had horrible experience. We started our order with some starters and some beer. When we got the starter in one of them we found string of steel may be it is steel wool used to clean. When we informed them about the same they were not apologetic. We told them to cancel all orders and we gad to walkout by paying bill for beer. Horrible place do not go there and risk your life.
Limited Menu, Real bad service
Since its called Ocean, I thought it would have lots of Sea Food and thought of taking Mom and Dad on their anniversary! It was very disappointing. The menu has limited choice. Don't be carried away by the lower end price, the quantities are also less. Barbecue Pompret was just the size of my little 2 year old nephews palm! The service was horribly slow. The resto is not kid friendly! And they got main course before they could even finish serving all the appetizers. I did cancel the delayed starter and the manager was forcing us to take it. When I asked him to give it to me as complimentary, he promptly made a fuzzy face and took away the dish from the table, instead of actually trying to retain our lost faith in their service. They dont have electronic bills and they make them on small pieces of paper like low class bar n restos do. Dont go here and waste your time and money. My experience wasn't worth it, lucky the food was not too horrible or poisoning!
we used the snapdeal discount coupon here on a saturday night. no issues there - the service was excellent. the sea food is exceptional. the chicken starters were ok. the mexican was awesome.
everything priced under 200. beer is cheap. major kudos: they serve budweiser unlike so many that serve only crappy kingfisher.
excellent place. loved it.
Awesome food, but pathetic service
We went here to celebrate my promotion. Ordered some mouth watering dishes in the starters, pasta and fettuchi. Food was really good, amazing but the service was so pathetic I cant even express. We ordered at around 9.30 and finished our food by 11.30 only because we were not served. The gap between the dishes was so much that we were carving like anything... Don't know will visit this place again or not...but it is sure that you should not visit this place if you are too hungry.. Price wise also it is moderate
Good food and ambience
I went there with couple of friends and ordered Mexican Burrittos and chicken Peri Peri which we quite good compared to many other restaraurant and fast food joints we have tasted.
Ordered sizzlers and kababs which came out very well. Though the environment is quite dim, we appreciated the intention of using energy efficient lighting.
Over all we liked food and setup.
We reached the place at 12:45 pm and found that we were the only customers. A quick look at the menu (which has more of Mexican, a bit of Italian and of course Indian), and I pitied the limited choices for my veggie friends. We started with mocktails, which took half an hour to arrive. My Fruit Punch tasted more like mango syrup-- too diluted, too yellow, and too sweet. I have never ever seen a yellow fruit punch before.
Our Vegetable Spring Roll was too teeny-weeny (excusable for Rs 60) and too soggy. For the main course, we ordered Jamabalaya Veggie, which turned out to a tangy-yet-spicy-but-soggy fried rice, Penne Primavera (which tasted not-so-bad), and Fajita with Tiger Prawn (which was 3 corn chapattis with tiger prawns cooked in some sweet sauce) and an assortment of chutneys. The order took more than 45 minutes to arrive with two reminders.
Portion is good but the cutlery in which it was served was bad. More like what one would expect at a Santhi Sagar.
They had only 5-6 items under Desserts and when we ordered one, pat came the reply unapologetic tone that there were no desserts. The bill, however, came faster than our order even before we had finished eating and the guy stood there until I paid, which I found very annoying.
The ambience is good but too dark. The lighting is dim (you have to squint to read the menu card) while the music is loud. The waiters are few and confused: getting the courses before clearing the plates and getting the bill before we called for one. The service is really pathetic. We stepped out at 2:15 pm pitying the other customers who had just arrived.
great menu, not-so-real food
Took a few friends along to Ocean for a lunch outing. This restaurant has a neat semi-formal feel to it on the inside, although I would have liked the lighting to be a lot brighter. The meny is really good, and has a lot of variety of some familiar international cuisines. Between all of us we tried some peri peri chicken, the chimichanga, chicken fresco, and a vegetarian penne pasta. We also ordered a paneer kebab and sheekh kebab for starters, and a few slices of garlic bread (with and without cheese). The drinks order included draft beer and one of their cocktails. We asked for the starters to be served along with the drinks.
The beer was really good, unlike some of the diluted stuff you sometimes get at many other places these days. The cocktail was average, not very well made. The food, however, was a total disappointment. The starters were served last, and the rest just appeared one by one with a gap of several minutes between each dish. None of it was authentic, and most of the main course dishes were just really not tasty at all, whatever they were. The chicken fresco was absolutely tasteless, and the peri peri chicken didn't have much of a peri-peri taste to it at all. The kebabs were average, and the pasta was served in a milky sort of white sauce. Prices are low for this type of food, so all in all I'd say its a place to go mainly to sample the beer, and keep the food quality expectations low.
