It was beautiful and spacious restaurant with very comfortable seating. Their menu has a good choice of multiple cuisines.the continental cuisine we ordered was really good. The fish and chips, the chicken pot pie, the sizzler were satisfying. The chicken tikka and paneer tikka is a must try. The fried rice is really good. It's light and flavourful.Service needs a slight improvement otherwise this is a great restaurent
No Respect for Customer , Very Bad Service
Recently we went to this place for lunch. We got a table and as soon as we started eating, one of them came and asked us to leave the table as that was for someone else. If they had already reserved that table, should not have given it to us.
After 30 min of waiting, we got a table again. They served one starter for non-veg. No veg starter. We asked for a welcome drink, they served after 10 min. But they were not serving any starter.
One of us asked why they are not serving anything, they asked us to speak to their manager. And manager pretended that he is too busy..
After 30-40 min, they got a few starters which were half cooked. Blood was coming out of chicken but we had already started eating the main course.... But everything was over .. Just had rice and daal. Taste of food was very bad.
When their manager turned up, he arrogantly said sorry .. And that's all... very bad behavior.
I strongly recommend to avoid this place.
Avoid - Bad Service
We were a team of 20. After 30 min of waiting, I got a choice of eating 2 pieces of Gobi, 1 Piece of Baby-corn, 1 Momo piece, 1 Paneer Slice.
Even after asking for the starters, they were very slow and in fact reluctant to serve.
The desserts, had pastries of small sizes, which didn't even fit in a spoon. I didn't feel like picking one of those to eat.
Starters were served only to the table and I had no option to pick myself (the idea is to make you eat less). A big no no for vegetarians, as it is not value for money.
I strongly don't recommend this place.
We went out as a team of 12 to Peacock restaurant. Great Food variety for buffet lunch, and of course tasteful, Courteous Staff, Value for money (I must admit, it is bit expensive side), nice ambiance, interesting street view sitting area in first floor, quick service.... so what else you need. Would highly recommend this place.
Only one this strange we noticed is, placing the eagle idol in the entrance of the restaurant where the name of the restaurant is "PEACOCK". !!!
The best food and ambiance!!
The thing I love about Peacock is the fact that there are three lip smacking cuisines with a wide variety of delicious dishes available. The ambiance is simply beautiful and the service is amazing as well. My favorite part about Peacock is the sizzlers and the deserts as they are mouth watering. I have been to Peacock a number of times and every time I go there, I only leave to be coming back for more. There is always something new to try and the atmosphere there is perfect to go with family or friends. According to me, it is one of the best restaurants in Bangalore and is worth the visit and the money!
best starters and desserts
the starters are a combination of indian and chinese. very fresh and good tasting.
the live counter serves chaats ( not too great), nachos. pasta (very good) momos and satays.
the main course is good but the rotis are not very hot. the service is good, not too intrusive. the best i liked were the desserts- about 15 varieties and all great.
must visit .
I have been looking at this place for a long time as I live really close by and have always wanted to go in. Yesterday evening I got my opportunity when I recommended this place to a friend and he willingly agreed that we could eat dinner here. Happily we parked the car on a convenient side road and strolled along to the restaurant. We then spent a few minutes standing outside it and wondering how to get up to it (it was on the first floor of a building). After a lot of peering around, my friend asked a security guard who obligingly pointed out the way to us. It was through another restaurant called Creme and Crust. I felt this was a little odd as we had to walk through nearly the entire length of this restaurant before we got to the passageway containing the private stairs and lift to Peacock. The lift had beautiful doors though and there was an interesting looking string fountain near the lift entrance. We took the stairs and I admired the ornate banisters. The restaurant was empty as it was really early - just gone 7 pm - and so we had our choice of seats. I chose a pair of seats near a window and we settled down comfortably. These seats were in a private alcove which was great as we not only had a view but also privacy. The waiter brought us the menus and we looked through them carefully before settling on a glass of Buttermilk for me, a dish of Dum Mutton Biriyani which we both going to share and a Boondi Raitha which i wanted. The waiter after taking our order brought us a complimentary starter - papads of different types and fryums. He also brought us the customary chopped onions and mint sauce which passes for a salad in India. We munched on the papads and fryums and enjoyed them. I also tried some of the mint sauce. It tasted good. Dinner arrived shortly and so did the Buttermilk. We both enjoyed the Biriyani, Raitha and the curry that came along with the Biriyani. There was also a complimentary bowl of Raitha which came with the Biryani and we enjoyed that as well. The Buttermilk however was dreadful. I think the chef probably hadnt mixed it well as the water and curd looked seperate to me. There was also no straw. Not one to create a scene for something so trivial though, I drank my way through it. Feeling full after dinner we decided against dessert and asked for the bill. It was very reasonable - cheap infact, considering the place has a fine dining tag attached to it. After my friend paid the bill and munched on some Saunf we left. All in all, a great place with lovely decor, good music, nice food and good service. Certainly a place to try out once, provided you find the entrance to it.
i think chicken prices are high on weekends/evenin
I agree with you. I always feel ripped off when people charge more on weekends and dinners.
Cant get the logic. guess we are foolish to shell out more "!!!!!!
hope more restaurants take cue from them and alter the pricing structures.
the food i agree is good. the variety great and the service is good as well
spicy works for me so l like it here.
going for a family outing tomorrow for dinner hope it meets upto expectations.
There prices of buffet dont change at dinner or weekends.
I appreciate that. I can never figur out why other places have differential pricing. Guess ingredients become more expensive on weekens!!!!!
Quality is good.
Starters good but a little on spicy side.
Service is good too.
Hope they dont increase prices on weekends and dinners. Just keep it honest and clean
Can Burrp Please Consider A Zero Star As Well?
How bad was it? Let me put it this way - my normally reasonable vocabulary is stunned by the abysmal nature of the food, and words that come to mind won't be allowed on this family friendly site.
We went for dinner to peacock recently for dinner, for a special occasion. On reaching the restaurant, we found that they had a buffet option. Most diners seemed to be doing the buffet, so we decided not to go a la carte.
And then began the descent into culinary hell.
The starters - veg and non-veg were saltier than the dead sea, and with as much taste as my leather chappals cooked in ghastly amounts of spice.
What they passed off as chicken tikka, seemed to be the dried up portions of the chicken tikka probably served to nawabs - don't get excited - i mean, chicken this dry and old could only be leftovers of a meal served to the first nawab of hyderabad.
Everything was salty, and badly cooked with terrible quality ingredients. Except strangely enough, the paneer dishes ., I guess they have a good paneer supplier. But that;s about it.
The dinner seemed cheap at 495 plus taxes, but when you try to eat what they are serving, you are reminded that you would be better served by eating your money in one rupeee notes - with a bit of seasoning , it would be better than this disaster,.
If you read my previous reviews, you will see that I am rarely this angered by a dining experience.
But quailty this abysmal can only mean that they don't care now. Make as much money as possible, before shutting down this place.
Because with food like this, it's only a matter of time before this peacock is exposed as a crow with painted feathers.
One of the best!
This one never lets me down. Took a few guests for an Indian dinner here and they just loved the food. The chaats were outstanding. We ordered a whole lot of kebabs and chaats as we didn't want to eat any main course and they have some really nice kebabs, the melt in the mouth kinds...wanted to Thank the chef for making our evening so special.
Superb place for vaggies ..
Have been once last week with my friends :). enough variety on veg/non-veg, nice ambiance...it was a good b'day celebration there. Chat was also good ..:)
It's not only starters but also sweets, ice -cream...were also superb
Got al most 10 yummy options to end up the lunch.
dont miss it
heard a lot about Peacock, but i din't have the time to go there.
Anyway i decided to go there with my friends.had awesome starters the best i have ever had. really out of this world.
This is my second visit here and the food was sooo soo satiating that I got really tempted to post another review here ! This time however ,certain changes were noticed than what was observed couple of months back when Peacock spread its feathers for the first time on 100 Ft Rd .The menu card now is almost like a mini -book with extensive options including Oriental,Indian,Thai and Continental cuisine. We stuck to the Indian fare though. For starters , chicken shorba and hariyali chicken - went on to order. we all ordered different dishes and had a bit of each,
the food was amazing
Brilliant Starters & Desserts
The starters are very nice and the desserts even better. Apple Pie with Custard is a "Must Have". The main course was average. I am yet to try the buffet which would probably change my opinion about the main course. If you are lucky you find a magician and mind reader showing you some nifty tricks. Want to give a 4/5 but reducing one star because the price is on the higher side.
I did not expect it to be so good after having lunch buffet at other places around Bangalore. This one was a real surprise. 20+ of us had been to Peacock for Lunch. Started with starter and it went on for so long, we're almost full with the starters. We had 6-7 starters including Veg and Non-veg and all of them were so tasty.
Lot many options for main course.. couldn't try much since wanted to save some for desserts... Poori and Batura were also served for main course.
Now, it's time for desserts. There were few varieties of mousse, gulab jamoon, rasogulla, ice cream scoop... all corresponding to around 10+ items... tasted almost all of it and it was yummy...
Planning to visit again sooner!!
Yummy food and courteous staff
This one is a surprise. The food is reasonably priced and really yummy. I had the tandoori platter. The kebabs were juicy and succulent. The sarson ka saag and makki di roti was also authentic. My husband arrived late and the waiter offered to reheat everything! He did and brought it back again with garnish and everything. I would highly recommend it.
Good place for group dining
Ten of us had been to Peacock for lunch on a weekday and opted for buffet. The starters are served on the table and they do a good job of serving till we are done with starters; this gives you as a group time to talk instead of running to the counter. The live counter for pav bhaji and pasta is the prime attraction; I must say that the pasta was very tasty. The main course is same as other similar restaurants except for poori and batura, which again was a surprise addition. The ambiance is good, nothing extraordinary. The place is slightly pricey when compared to say Chutney Chang or Cafe Masala, which have comparable buffet spread.
a total of 15 desserts both Indian and continental were laid out on the spread buffet. All absolutely fresh.
the spread buffet includes 2 soups, 3 salads- indian and continental, 7 veg dishes 4 non veg dishes.
the bread basket included the regular roti naans, parathas and puri and bhature.
Great. the service gets a tad slow during service of starters and chaats, but the restaurant was quite full, so that was probably ok.
the food on the buffet is outstanding.
a must visit.
Awesome place for Veggies
I have been there once last tuesday with my team on one of my friend's suggestion :). Amazing ambience, lot of variety on veg/non-veg, and good service satisfied the team on b'day lunch celebration...:)
Generally in buffet we don't get much options in Veg, but in Peacock it was amazing to see (not only see but also to have :P )
those many variety of veg starters specialy chat was too good.
It's not only starters but finishing was also superb :)
Got alomost 8-10 yummy options to end up the lunch :)
Second Visit -Equally Amazing !
For starters , chicken shorba and hariyali chicken - generous amounts of pepper were sprinkled in it making the shorba extremely pungent ,so much that I had to abandon it and thankfully ,my husband finished it ! Hariyali chicken was succulent tender pieces well marinated with a spinach and cheese batter and griled.. Taste was good ,though I would vote for their Malai Tikka anyday.. For mains, we had Bhuna Gosht .While i gorged on Panner Kulcha the husband chose Garlic Naan . The mutton was very well cooked with just the right amount of spices and went superbly well with our choice of indian breads . The main highlight of our dinner was the lip-smacking gajar ka halwa .. It was super delicious and came loaded with a lot of calories , but we were beyond caring !! :P
What stole the show was the fact that since shorba and starters came in really late (arnd 30 mins of wait time) ,we were served a complimentary veg oriental starter and another round of complimentary Oreo chocolate mousse !!!! :) :) These little things edge out the best of restaurants from the average and Peacock is certainly the best of the Lot on the 100 ft Rd.
Our total bill was 1.7k. We will visit again !!!!!! :) :) :)
Real Good Indian Food
i heard a lot about Peacock, but i din't have the time to go there.
Anyway i decided to go there with my friends. we were a group of 8
we had awesome starters the best i have ever had. really out of this world.
went on to order. we all ordered different dishes and had a bit of each,
the food was amazing . this place really knows how to satisfy the taste buds.
people if you don't try you'll be missing out on some amazing food.
please keep up the suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper work. cheers
Do they even know the meaning of Buffet??
Before I begin,I ask you guys to look at the profiles of the people who have given this place a 5 star rating. Some have posted reviews with 5 stars 2 or 3 times.Does that ring a bell??
It was a special occasion as our Project Manager was blessed with a child and also he had just been promoted as the Vice President and our team wanted to celebrate. After going through the reviews of so many people who have given this place 5 star ratings,it was a natural choice for my office team to choose this place for team lunch.
The place with its swanky interiors gave us high hopes that the buffet worth approximately 700 bucks would be excellent. But as it started rolling,we realized that we had actually expected way too much out of this place.
It would be very polite of me to say that the starters and the main course were below average. But the worst part was the desserts(??).They asked us whether we wanted gulab jamuns, ice cream or carrot halwa. All of us order gulab jamun/carrot halwa with ice cream and what do we get?? They first give us vanilla ice cream, wait for us to finish it and then give us gulab jamun/carrot halwa and the dessert is over!!!
For Rs.700 people expect more than just swanky ambiance, they expect excellent quality of food and a standard that is distinguishable from ordinary and cheap restaurants. If the management concentrates on that instead of posting fake and paid reviews on reliable and reputed sites such as Burrp they may expect revisits.Else it will just be a 1 time visit with more negative reviews to follow.
I doubt most of the below mentioned reviews r from the management of peacock as they have only rated peacock , Some times i feel i should stop visiting burrp as reviews are rigged., nw slowly people are loosing faith on burrp as everything s fake,, We went this place for team lunch and guess what it was a big big disaster, we went for over priced buffet which costs 700 rupees each, and the worst part is it was limited buffet, food quality was very very bad, roti had become hard, and disaster was desserts, they gave single scoop ice cream, carrot halwa without sugar, People who come here for to see review plzzz avoid this resturant., its a big big disaster., overpriced without quality ., we are still nt able to forget the disaster lunch and blame ourself for choosing this place..!!
the best sunday brunch!!
Peacock is a place I have always loved! After the Sunday Brunch last week, I was so happy and I am definitely going to keep coming back for this brunch very often. My whole family loved it and it was very peaceful and relaxing as my 5 year old and 7 year old were very occupied with the different distractions the restaurant provided them. This was a treat to my husband and myself as we could have our bit of relaxing and fun too. The best way to spend a weekend and the best way to enjoy and relax. The menu was so elaborate and so tempting, the music was amazing and the service was lively. I AM DEFINITELY COMING BACK FOR MORE!!!
was at this place yesterday with 13 other colleagues, this place is huge- in terms of food quality quantity and service!!!
we all felt that the place is the THE BEST for staff lunch. fabulously prepared food, extremely fresh- with impeccable service. we had at least a gang of 5 guys waiting on our table ably led by Arun. great stuff, 100% fresh, started wondering if they make any money on this or not. no compromise anywhere, from the word go, everything moved very well- right till we got the little surprise in the finger bowl- we were completely bowled over.
will be back and recommend to others too.
Was here last evening with a group of friends- the place was brimming with people from a single group maybe 50 or more. A lot of activity- almost hectic and a little disconcerting if you want to relax. But does add to the excitement. The music was nice and the service efficient despite the crowds. A lot of other tables and people chatting and enjoying added to the buzz.
We ordered starters and drinks- both were good. The chicken tikka was outstanding the drinks were strong and not diluted as compared to a few other places i have been to.
We had a selection of thai, chinese and indian. The combination worked very well for us, the quality was very satisfactory. Changed my order for the dessert twice and the server was very patient and polite. My friends made changes to their dessert selection too and had the same experience.
Our outing was very very satisfying- would recommend the place to all. A very good addition to the 100 ft road diner scene.
good food...authentic dishes...
found the fish & chips brilliant.considering have had this many a times in london & places in india too,its was really authentic as i would have expected it to be for the price i pay for this dish.i would have been furious & gone if it wasnt right.the fish, the chips & the sauce are so made for each other.all compliments to the chef,he obviously did a great job i conveyed my happiness to him.the prawn wrapped in abcon was okay.certailny not as good as the fish n chips.cheers Jai Hind.
fresh food, fab service
A new concept for group office lunch. The economy buffet is a great concept which does not let you get up, everything from the welcome drink to dessert is served on the table. The food comes piping hot from the kitchen and is very tasty. The ambience and service are uncomparable to any other place. The price well that is the surprise package- 495 includes everything for both veg and non veg. We were 15 persons , 10 opted for non veg and 5 for veg. The starters were fantastic, the service very efficient, with the cutlery being changed after every course. The experience was great, we left very happy. The place was quite full and a tad noisy on friday afternoon, but the food was very definitely well worth the price!!!!!
there are more expensive options if you have the time and budget.
Fine Dining Expeirince
Awesome staff with fine dining ambiance. Perfect for a team lunch or treat. The starters have a great choice for vegetarians too. Have been there twice and each time got more than expected. The food and starters both are tasty. If you are looking for a relaxed meal with fine dining experience and price, you have got this as the right choice. Strongly recommended.
Get more than promised

great food like before
this is my second visit to this place, the ambience is wonderful as before, the food and service a lot better.
we landed at 3, for lunch and were informed about the ongoing chaat festival, where the entire chaat menu is at a good discount.
yummy chaats alongwith mango lassi was superb.
the menu now includes the chinese and thai which is extensive .
wud definitely go back with my friends for the chaat festival before it gets over.
seated in the inside chambers dressed up in soft pink hues, you overlook the beautiful tree lined 100 ft road below adding to the dining experience. The view on a weekday is lazy and relaxed.
The food itself is very good with all the different cuisines retaining their original flavors.
The continental is particularly very nice, so is the chinese.
The chaats are very authentic and nice and spicy. The sweets particularly the kulfi was not upto the mark, the falooda being too sweet.
the service was warm and personal.
It was nice to come back .
Interesting, but just once...
My husband and I visited peacock last weekend. Much to our surprise when we asked about the drinks menu and happy hours, rant came the statement that its a dry day due to some temple festival (definately a first time I have heard of this, except for 2nd oct!). So then we settled for some mocktails..one a coffee-chocolate combo and other a strawberry concot. Both of the drinks were okay, definately tasted better ones though. We then ordered a paneer appetiser which was decent...soft paneer whcih was cooked to a good extent. The mains which were ordered were a twist on fajitas and an Afghani sizzler . The Fajitas were okay, though quite oily, but the sizzle just about made me rethink why I visited this place. The sizzler was supposed to be a combo of afghani rice (which turned out to be coriander rice with 2 channas and 2 potato pieces!), stuffed capsicum and tomatos and was quite sad! After our experience with the mains, we decided to skip the dessert. In total, a bill of 1.8k would definately make one consider if its value for money
Go at your own risk!!
Peacock is amazing place to be when you want to be alone, hardly find people here:) I read the review and went to this place. I was so disappointed by this place and the people who has provided a good review to this Restaurant. Now i realized the management has hired some people to write reviews... if you see the people who dine here and write reviews are the people who does not like any place in Indiara nagar.lolz... isn't funny. Bad decor, highly priced, ill behaved manager...not even worth a try
Well.. to be very honest.. the name of the restaurant kindda made me avoid it till now.. but yest a few of us thot of giving it a try... And we very happily surprised... if u let he name pass by.. the drinks were nice.. and the food was very well made. awesome.. ..Infact we hogged so much that all of us felt like taking a nap right there... Even Biryani was pretty good.. and they had happy hours Saturday lunch time :) Loved it.. wud def visit again...
multi cuisine and all day convinience
These guys at Peacock really take guests suggestions seriously. The conversion to multicuisine is based on guest feedback, which is really admirable. The all day dining definitely gives flexibility to dine at your conveinence . You do not see dissatisfied look of the waiters if you check in for a meal at 3 pm because they are due to go on a break in a short while !
The place has truly evolved into a sizzler house with a variety of Indian and continental sizzlers selling like hot cakes.
The inclusion of chinese and thai ( in a weeks time) would definitely add to the appeal of family crowd.
A sure winner, increasing crowds add to the atmosphere, and live music on saturday evenings fill in the place to the brim. The music is wonderful with a fine mix of Indian, english and spanish songs is rivetting.
worth a visit
Great ambiance, good decor. Attentive and good service.
Went for the sizzler festival and ordered a grilled chicken sizzler and a vegetable dum biryani sizzler. The chicken sizzler was very tasty, the vegetable biryani had a good flavor but was not spicy enough.
A little expensive on the pocket but worth a visit.
First thing that strikes you as you enter is the cozy warmthness in and around.
Next thing you notice is the Swaroski crystals and the nice rich ambience around.
As you are seated and your eyes start to roam, you start noticing the colors and the fine dine arrangement around.
Pick of the list. The awesome food.
If you are a meat lover, this is the place to be.
Tender meat, well cooked , the right amount of spice and the exotic taste.
We ordered for one non-veg and one veg platter and immediatly found out why this place was rated high.
I was accompanied by my parents , my wife and my daughter who took no time to empty all.
INdian Breads were on Order and some Lamb biryani which just soothed our gastrics.
Desserts were a different experience all together....just enjoyed every mouthful here.
Yes, I do agree that this is a lttle heavy on the wallet.
But if Indulgence is a sin , then what is not.
Ambience 4 /5
All in all good reminiscence
With friends wanted to try out new dining experience. . . based on friends suggestion and excellent reviews decide to try this restaurant.
Why visit Peacock again?
1. Great ambience
2. Great live performance (a Saturday night special)
3. Great stewardship
And most important reason for getting ourselves there. . .
4. Great culinary.
We were faltered by the interiors at first, then food we had ordered mocktails, chicken & mushroom starters, soup, dum-briyani, palak paneer (out of the world), naan and a chaat (little disappointed here) I was not expecting a dosa in moong daal aloo cheela.
This was perfect icing on the cake. We had two of our friends bday celebration as well so they got us a cake from cream and crust. It was mouth-watering brilliant!
All in all good reminiscence
Worth a Try; Definitely reinventing the cuisine
We have been to this joint for snacks in the evening at 4pm today. Will spell out the specifics : ordered Paneer Udaigiri; Gulab Jamoon with Rabdi and Dahi Puri
Food: simply delicious. Paneer is luscious, soft n tender, gently charred with good coat of mint chutney; accompanied by swirls of zestly marinated onions, accentuated by two chutneys: mint with garlic and lightly peppery hot chutney...truly delicious.
Same as the case with the dahi Puri. They are crunchy outers with thick dahi dolloped with pomogrenate pearl. Yummy.
Jamoon is just heavenly, with the delicately light sugary syrup with kesar/cardmom and absolute soft core that is floating in that syrup. Best part is the flaky yet condensed rabdi that gives unique texture to the palette.
Wonderful core offering.
Service: absolutely unobtrusive yet attentive and timely service. Perhaps bit of attention to cleaning up the table could have swept us off the floor
Billing: absolutely what you see is what you got; correct, accurate; no hiccups
Bathrooms: spick n span; perfect. Keep it up
Ambience: there seems to be distinct disconnect between the name/brand, cutlery, overall ambience and background piped music. Guess they could have thought about it better and executed with same perfection to accentuate that authenticity and bit of ethnicity would have given the environment really wonderful ambience. it seemed to me bit out of place; not with the outlandish decor. Definitely decor, color coordinates, furniture, cutlery, menu cards, table clothes should have been well coordinated befitting the niche position that it aspire to be in. This is sore point, to the visual delight of the customer.
Price Point: seems to be reasonable for two persons given the quality of food and service; not becoz of ambience( am totally discounting on it).
What can be better: may be lunch buffet/dinner buffet and good spread of snacks such as bhajis/fryums/fritters of different variety that suits a particular time of the day.
What is most admirable: open, transparent, upfront proactive admission that the platters are not yet ready though mentioned onthe menu.
Kudos. Keep it up.
Great North Indian cuisine
We had been to Peacock yesterday, it was an awesome place to dine in. Great food , good music, great ambience and excellent service. Our team loved the way the food was presented and served. The starters were very great especially the platters in both veg and non veg options, the biryanis were awesome and ofcourse the desserts. The only item which was average was the soup-tomato shorba, may be others may like it as the taste varies from each individual. Overall was great and would wish to dine again....
All day dining
Peacock brings in the very welcome All day dining to north Indian Cuisine. No breaks between 4 and 7pm
The entire menu is on offer through the day.
The place is awesome, a very classy ambience, the food is great as well. The chaats are specially great.
The service is warm though a bit muddled. A great palce to relax as the seating and ambience is very very good.
Loved the experience
We went there for my B'Day. Ambiance and service was nice. Very good North Indian food.. but one of the dish (dum aalo) was uncooked it was disappointing rest all were very good. Nicely done Panner and dal makhani.
A must go place for North Indian food lovers.
They gave us free cake as it was my B'Day... loved this gesture....
For sure will be visiting again....
The great Indian feast
Already bursting with a gazillion culinary options, 100 Feet Road gets another fine-dining destination with Peacock. An Ana Hospitality venture (the same people who gave us Woodstok (Resto-Cafe) and Crème n Crust (patisserie), Peacock is an indulgent experience, ideal for a special meal replete with the classics while giving the nod to innovation.
Like its namesake, the restaurant too is done up in a melange of rich hues with shades of blue dominating the spacious setting. Bright lights, paintings and wooden accents complete the picture proving to be an apt precursor for the lavish meal ahead.
Going beyond just a pretty face, Peacock scores high on what we look forward to the most in a restaurant exquisite food. Offering its guests primarily North Indian fare with major contributions from Awadh, Punjab and Delhi, Peacocks extensive menu includes chaats, shorbas, curries, tikkas, biryanis, main course platters, thalis and Indian desserts.
For vegetarians, you could start off your meal with Paneer Makhmali (the paneer is a freshly-made and melts in your mouth) or even choose the Peacock Special: the Vegetable Crispy Kebab. For the carnivores amongst you, the Ajwain Tikka which is sole fish marinated in a heady mix of yogurt, roasted pineapple, ginger chutney and, well, ajwain is a sure-fire winner.
But the show-stealer has to be the Banno Kebab! Inspired by the imagery of a bride who is covered in ghooghat, the dish is a spin on your average kebab that comes swathed in a foamy blanket of egg-white. The spongy crunch of the egg adds an interesting texture to the crispness of the chicken.
Peacock is one of those rare restaurants to offer main course platters. A combination of Indian breads and the choicest of curries, these platters leave you deliciously satiated. We tried out the Sarson ka Saag with Makki Roti and it was done to perfection; the creaminess of the saag complementing the cracker of the roti to the hilt.
But if you are looking to go all out, Peacocks thalis are a must-try. The Maharaja Thali takes its name seriously and treats you to a meal fit for royalty. The thali service includes welcome drinks, kebab platters, soups, chaats, a green salad, eight types of curries (!), Indian breads and desserts! *Phew*
A word of caution though Peacocks is an extravagant experience. So you better be carrying a rather plump wallet when you walk in. That apart, Peacocks culinary magic is sure to have you spell-bound.
burrp! says: *** 1/2
Average meal for two: Rs 1,200
Dining at it's finest
As you step into the newly opened Peacock In indiranagar, you are immediately amazed by the posh interiors. The blue and red velvet seating and the crystal chandeliers give the place a magical look. All the dishes are beautifully presented and served by helpful and friendly staff. the food is something definitely worth trying, fresh non-oily and delicious. The chaats are served on elegant dishes and taste better than any other chaat in the city. The private areas and the bar area were my favourite. Looking forward to the next time I can go there and enjoy a delicious meal again!
Out of this world
Step into Peacock and you feel you are transported into an unbelievable setting of pure opulence! You feast your senses on the finest decor the most luxurious interiors and a very warm welcome. The staff is extremely motivated under the very capable and pleasing persona of the manager Mr Sharma, the service is exemplary.
The picture perfect setting is extended to the fabulous food which is dished out very stylishly and tastefully.
The dishes are true to their origin, very authentic north Indian. The veg kebab platter consists of succulent mouth watering kebabs. In the krispy kebabs, non veg the chicken is melt in the mouth on the inside with covering batter crisp.
The tandoori rotis and paranthas are outstanding.
The black daal is delicious, reminding you of the old Peacock restaurant on Residency Road.
The mouth watering desserts are a class apart, the gulab jamuns being out of this world.
The finger bowl needs a special mention as it is very innovative and utilitarian- go for yourself and find out what is special !
Lip smacking Delicacies
Although a new opened places at the 100 Ft Road (3 bulidings away from e-zone) , it's here to stay for long !!!
Plush blue velevets resembling the peacock feather colours and crystals adorn the restura ,giving it a rich look and feel . Food is delicious and is sure to satiate the meat-eating tastebuds !! :) My husband and I were ushered in very warmly by the maître d which was soon followed by placing the orders. We chose Chicken and Nalli ka Shorba and Banno Kebabs as starters .Banno Kebabs are chunks of chiken kebabs wrapped in egg fritters and tasted heavenly. For main course we stuk to Butter Naan and Dhaniya chicken which were pretty delicious too. By the end of Main Couse , we were very stuffed and couldn't dare a sweet dish but the maître d ensured we did not leave the place without trying at least sumthing from the menu which he insisted was Complimentary ,so after much "bargain" we settled for 1 Gulab Jamun for both of us !! I have NEVER tasted such gulab jamun in my life , it jus melts in the mouth ,so soft and spongy ,just perfect !!
The dinner experience was extremely feel-good and the tastes lingered on for longer than usual !!We enjoyed every minute of our dinner here . Our total was a decent 1.3k inclusive tax.
Must visit for all foodies !!!! :) :) Wil definitely recommend to those who love heavy Indian meals .
simply the best
Was at Peacock last evening with family, the place reeks of opulence, right from the bill boards outside the property to the floor (Italian Marble), swaroski crystalls, Bose music system, The Blu- the bar, everything is stylishly outstanding.
The food is as expected great, the service though well meaning is a little confused. The Maharaja Thali, the nonveg is spectacular, it is so filling , you need a crane to take you to the car.
The liquor, both indian and imported find a place on the menu, the happy hours are on, so a plus .
I would go back , as I feel it is a great value addition to the array of restaurants on the 100 Ft Road. None of them are anywhere close to this.
Spent a lovely afternoon lunching at the newly opened Peacock Restaurant on Indiranagar 100ft Road last weekend. A lovely ambiance in the colour of the Peacock's plumes and a smiling maitre'd greeted us and made us comfortable as we sank into the plush seating of the Restaurant. I was happy to note that a portion of the seating overlooking the busy thoroughfare has been curtained off to accommodate for a private party. The menu was well laid out with lots of variety and descriptions which tempted us to try out almost all the items on the menu, especially the kebabs! However, since we had a movie to catch and were in a bit of rush, we decided on giving the the starters a miss, settling for the main course straight up. We ordered Tomato shorba, which was rich, creamy and flavoursome, followed by a main course of bhindi dopyasa, dhania murg, Chicken dum biryani and some butter naans. All the dishes were uniformly nice. However, I would've preferred the Biryani to have some masala as it tasted a little bland. It would be a grave overlook if I don't mention the service here. The waiters are extremely courteous and well-trained. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience at Peacock and I would recommend it to all burrpers looking for some sumptuous Indian food.
Situated on the main 100 ft Road, Indiranagar, it is a gem of a place.
fabulous interiors, lovely food and fantabulous service makes it a must visit. The plush interiors transport you into a totally 7 star ambience where the great food being dished out makes the dining experience heavenly.
notable on the menu are the lamb preparations, and the chaats.
will definitely go again.
awesome awesome awesome
Right from the signboard to the italian marble interiors and svarosky lights with a bose music system to boot, everything seems to be expensively and tastefully done.
The food was the best we have had for a long time in Bangalore. Reminded us of the food we enjoyed at the erstwhile Peacock restaurant (though the management denies any connection with the old Peacock). The makkai ki roti with sarson saag platter was the best offering out of the food we ordereds at the restaurant. The jalebi and the gulab jamoon were outstanding. the menu had on offer a large variety of chaat items and an equally large variety of kebabs. A very exhaustive list of vegetarian and non vegetarian curries were listed, some we tasted, were good.
The Maharaja Thali (vegetarian) had huge portions and very good tasting stuff. Covered almost everything you could eat, from the soups, salads, chaats, kebabs, subjis, daal roti, desserts, served tastefully in elegant silver thaalis.
The service was well meaning but a little confused. A great place to unwind with family or entertain guests and your boss.
interiors and ambience 5/5
Amazing ambience and food
Walked into Creme and Crust last evening with friends looking for channa bhatura, the manager directed us to the first floor of the building where Peacock has just opened. Took the lift and when we walked out we were taken in by sheer opulence, absolutely 5 star interiors. For a second you get confused if you are entering a five star hotel restaurant or just another diner on 100 ft Road.
The service is exemplary, the chole bhature I had tried on an earlier occasion at Creme and Crust, where they had introduced some of the food from the kitchen of Peacock about a month ago, so I settled for a soup (Nalli ka Shorba) a lamb based soup, which was made very well. I am a great lover of chaats, so I ordered some paani puri and aloo tikki chaat- it was very nice. Only the paani could have been a little more spicy. But I do not know if you would like it to be such in a fine dining environment. I anyways let the manager know.
My friends ordered a non veg platter, which was very good, the chicken was well marinated and soft, the mutton was done very nicely and so were the other meats. The platter was big and value for money, In the main course we ordered Rann, paneer makhani, daal and fish molee. An assorted bread basket was ordered ( though not on the menu) and a keema naan. The dishes were very hot and well done, the black daal was probably the best.
We were very full when the manager suggested we taste the desserts as all are made in house and are very good. We picked only one, the gulab jamuns, these were very light and cooked just right.
We felt the prices though a bit high were justified if you take into account the ambience , food and the service.
Walked out very satisfied and extremely full.
