Well i usually dont do reviews, but this experience certainly deserves that i spend time doing it . It was my father birthday, and i wanted to make the day special and the choice of roof top restaurant for dinner puran da dhaba on Richmond road, turned out to be just right. Yummy food, starters and chats they were serving t unlimited wowww no word *****excellent staff (always smiling, always welcome, ) and awesome live music ,and kids fun area was very good , the restaurant ambiance superb, you feel some were I am in heaven, Whether you are a foodie or not , this place is certainly worth a visit. Again and again. You going to have deserts there is an options you can learn how to make jalabi.
Puran da dhaba does not need any introduction but still for those who do not know about it...It is a paradise for all foodies who love Indian Tandoori dishes that too unlimited. Barbeque puran da dhaba is the place where I can go again & again & can never get bored because of excellent food quality, brilliant taste & extremely good service. Every time I dine there I have memorable experience whether it is with my family or friends or official dinner. They set hot tandoor in your table & as per your preference of veg or non veg will get unlimited starters but dont think if they are giving you unlimited starters they will compromise in quality, taste of each starter is different and so good. They will keep on bringing starters until you beg them not to bring more but best is yet to come which is their buffet which comprises of variety of salads, soups, live lalabi, more than 8 typs of chats, sarson ka saag maki da roti all live, main course items, freshly made Indian breads, biryani & 5 -6 options in desert. They have separate menu for drinks & that is charged separately. Live music was mind Bl
Plus the open air ambience makes it a good place to enjoy a nice Bangalore evening weather.
The service is excellent ****

Maine course which was awesome. Overall, we all loved the place; worth a visit and value for money, there is choicebuffet & you can order from menu also
PURAN DA DHABA, THE BEST RESTAURANT, IN CITY I have ever eaten in my entire life.
IN the words of my friend, "you can blindly try anything on the buffet menu and it will certainly be tasty". This sentiment and the fact that it offers an unforgettable experience keeps to thinking about the place, long after your meal. They were serving unlimited vegi& non vegi starters awesome
WE went there for a small celebration and ordered fev drink atmosphere o god great. Were they serving unlimited chats. Lassi.paneer tikka, tandoori chicken. I dont have word to explain .. Easy to see why it is popular. A well deserved reputation and very highly recommended
We went there to celebrate a small occasion and we were happy to have chosen this place!! The food is fantastic and the service was very good too; the paneer was super soft and my wife loved the chicken. There was also a corn starter which was awesome. Overall, we all loved the place; worth a visit and
very nice place to drink& dine
Been to this place multiple times...so don't have write much. I found this place to be really good, known for starters, they were serving unlimited tandoori chicken, fish tikka, chicken tikka, sheek kebab paneer tikka, ect really I dont have count Maine course and desserts. Varity is not just for non veg but extended to veg as well. Makki de roti and sarson ka saag, tooooo good One suggestion - to have complete course meal, balance your diet at each course else you'll end up like me flying directly to desserts after starters :) which roof tof open air is not a bad choice.
very good family dhaba
We were a team of 20 members, experience. Lets start from beginning....
This hotel belongs to pride group and so the expectation level goes a notch higher with the name itself, heart of the city like this place very rare, parking experience was not bad we had valet parking.
Its located on 6th floor, a roof top Punjabi dhaba rustic ambience with interiors replicating typical village of Punjab India.
it was very big as the open space was already filled with people from office, shopping etc so suggest even if you book be there early .
Food: The spread was very lavish for the budget, they really outdid our expectation in some areas like, chat counter, desert and specially golas which is very rare. Starters two type one was tandoori chicken mutton sheek kebab awesome. veg starters with paneer. Tandoori fruit chat.. That was very good, with channadal and yam kabab..
Main dishes. Were dal makhani..the mother of all dals paneer curry, , veg biryani and on non veg main course, mutton Rogan josh biryani, macchi curry excellent dont miss sarson ka saag& make de roti .i newer head before any were awesome
Desert section a bit low on range but high on taste there was jamoon which was good, filled with typically Punjabi style my colleagues with sweet tooth were highly impressed..cham cham and cut fruits with ice cream!!
Live music was good -------------
So a good getaway for families who are looking for whole some meal within budgeted price line, ranging from young to old ones with chats and goals to keep young ones busy till their worried moms finish meals
Good food - but not worth the price
After reading other reviews, we booked the place for a group of 10 friends 2 days in advance. The dinner was on friday, so obviously we had expected a lot of crowd. But to our surprise, we, along with one other family were the only customers there. Starters were horrible and the singer, singing some classical songs, completely turned off our moods. The service was good.
When we booked the place, they had reserved 3 tables for us in the open. It started raining in the middle of our meal and they didn't have any provision to block it. We asked for change of seats (under a roof), but they had reserved that place for someone else. I didn't see that table fill for the entire night we were there.
Main course was awesome. Dal makhani, sarson da saag and makki di roti are complete winners here. That changed our whole perspective of the restaurant.
Good place to go, if you are in a group.
Bottom line is, food is good, but is it worth the price of the buffet - nah!!
We had been to this place on 03.03.2012.To be on safer side we tried to do the table booking but we were informed that booking is closed and there is no seats available. We had tried to do booking on 02.03.2012 and had received the same response from the staff.
Despite the info shared by the staff we decided to have a walkin in 03.03.2012.
We found that the place was crowded as informed by the customer service representative. We were hardly made to wait for 15 min before we got a seat.
I was under the impression this place is not good for vegetarians and only for meat lovers. I think it was proved wrong. Impressed with ambiance, the staffs were friendly and helped us distinguish the veg and non-veg guests. The deal was too good where they served a unlimited tandoori chicken, paneer tikka, mutton sheek unlimited barbeque starters with hot grill, buffet (with loads of veg/non-veg dishes, Overall the package was so filling it was just 575 per person. and so. The staff took care to serve extra starters too. Overall experience was good.
Not worth the cost
As heard in the Radio or other advertisement, thought it to be a fairly good restaurant but the overall expectation came was too bad. Very slow service (needs a big time improvement) Starters were amazing but the main course was not good. Chef was quite running around with no decency to server the customers at the buffet counter. Serving decency NILL. Not worth the money. Good ambience with live music ...need to change the male singer... thumbs up to the female singer
Aaah! Now this is a place that actually serves authentic Punjabi fare here in Bangalore. Puran da dhab the pride hotel roof top Punjabi Dhaba is the place. I went there for dinner last evening with the family. As usual had to wait for around 20-25 mins to get a table. But the wait's worth it and to keep you occupied you .
Now before I go any further, let me tell you this is a fancy place (no expensive food& liquor . Also not a place for people who carry their calorie calculators with them while eating out. Overall This place is a good for din Good service**** beautiful view
Good starters. Limited main course. Open air
The first impression when I entered the place is "This looks fancy" and the restaurant is on rooftop with 'okay' views of the city. This is a dinner buffet place and I went in for the vegetarian one. The food is fairly decent, but can be better.
The starters were the best part of the entire course (though the salt was tad too less to my liking). Starters are served at the table and the service is quite good, but that can be attributed to the recent opening. The gobi was good, paneer tikka was nice, and the aloo tikki amazing! They also throw in couple of samosas and certain chats. Must add, they are generous with their serving.
The main course is a let down however. Just one type of rice, no curd rice (I know this is a punjabi restaurant, but I'd say curd rice is staple), no papad (atleast i couldn't find them). Was happy to find out that there was butter milk, but absolutely no salt. There was the Naan (I had ordered for Kulchas!) But they were more crunchy than I would have liked. No phulke or lassi (isn't that a punjabi cuisine pre-requisite?).
The price, Rs. 1375 for two, with taxes. For that price there are better restaurants around. My personal pick would have been BBQ Nation or if I was particular about having punjabi, then I'd go to Punjabi Times.
Final word, if you like a windy night out, dinner under the stars and OK with limited choice of food, this place fits the bill. Can't comment on the non-vegetarian food (I prefer to kill plants only)
