Ruh presents Bollywood Night featuring DJ Kapzsegh spinning the best of Bollywood tunes. Wine & Dine in Arabian Tents, FREE Entry & Free Shooters.
Time: 7pm onwards
Very nice place for North Indians
Ruh is a very fashionable restaurant to visit and this place is becoming popular with the young and elite crowd. The menu card boasts of a wide variety of dishes ranging from the Mediterranean to North Indian. This is a must try place for the crowd looking for a good time, a great ambiance to settle down and enjoy sumptuous meals. Everything on the inside of the restaurant is fascinating except the outside of the building which looks scary and dingy. No proper display boards either to make your search for Ruh easy. My wife loves the place, so do my kids and insist on Ruh on all our outings.
Great Food and Service
Very Good Food is served here. This is the place to be if you are really hungry and want to have a great Evening.
The staff is very professional and very attentive in taking your order. We were there last month, had been here before a year back too, I had always liked their theme.
We sat and waited for 10 minutes after which a waiter came to our table with their paper menus. After we ordered the food was on our table after 20 minutes but was hot and looked freshely prepared.
We also met their manager and she was very polite. Nice
Bad quality food, poor service and very costly
One of the worst place I ever visited in Bangalore. Hardly anything from the drinks menu were available, food quality was way below average (not fresh), service was pathetic. I visited there for Dinner with 2 other families and I came back disappointed.
I found the behavior of one of the service staff very weird, he didn't add some of the items in the receipt and later on told me that credit card machine is not working properly so I can pay him cash and I ended up paying part of the bills in cash as the machine didn't work the second time...
Bad taste in the mouth
Having lived in the same locality for more than 4 years, never heard about this eating place.
Went to the place with ,my colleagues for a lunch. Was shocked to see that this was scrammed between two buildings. Parking inadequate and dingy. The edifice of the building is not at all appealing to the eye.
Too much of decoration and anointment in the insides... No subtlety and too much in the eye. Food was bad and did not taste fresh. The desserts were limited and did not excite anyone.
A big no-no for anyone wanting to explore this
Bangalore’s Best Food Restaurant
This place is the only one is Bangalore which reminds me of Spain or Italy. The food is great especially good with its freshness and flavour. By far it's the best Mediterranean restaurant I have been to in this city. Weekends are mostly crowded so its good to book your table in advance or end up waiting. Love the Arabian music with the beats sets your feet tapping. Nice to visit on a Sunday evening with family.
The worst place to go to.
My team went here for lunch yesterday, but only after we'd discussed our meal plan with the manager. The manager told us that he'd be happy to customize the lunch as per our needs. However, their service and food disappointed us a lot. Their staff lacks absolute knowledge, including the manager too. We were not at all pleased inspite of spending so much money. I'd suggest nobody to go to this place. I wouldn't have given them even a single star.
Great Buffet Lunch
We were a corporate team and went there on Friday for Lunch. The spread was really cool must say salads, starters, mains we were in for a real treat and ending with the ice cream was really chill. Must go place for their buffet spread with over 40 items.
On 25th Nov 2014 we went for a team lunch to a restaurant near by name RUH close to Eco Space, Bellandur, Bangalore. We were surprised by the way they are charging for a single water bottle. For a bottle priced Rs. 20 they are charging Rs. 45 and on the top of Rs. 45 they are adding VAT and service tax extra. On confronting with the manger, the excuse we got is you go to any bar you will find beer at high price as compared to a normal wine shop. Please find the attached bill along with this message. The way per water bottle was charged was very unusual. First they have increased the price of the water bottle by 125% and then they add taxes too. If they add taxes on the print price I can understand. But first increasing the price and then adding the taxes its really unusual.
very bakwas and extremely expensive... have a look at the bill...I have a separate bill for 4 water bottles with MRP Rs. 20. Open the image to see the steep price of water. By price of water u can make out how expensive it is...
BAD Review for RUH
Service is very slow, they make customers wait for long periods of time, we reached there at 12:30 PM and got the food on our table at 2:30 PM.
They have their own way to convince, they won't let you go and will only continue to keep you waiting.
This happened twice and so I am drawing the conclusion that service is very poor and very late.
Disgusting Food, Unprofessional and Rude Management
Went to this restaurant two weeks back. The ambience of the restaurant is different, based on the Arabian theme. But, the red lights used in the inner section makes the place look spooky. I went to this place with my friends. We ordered naan, dal makhni and murgh methi malai. We got the food after one hour fifteen minutes after complaining thrice. The owner seemed very rude and unreasonable as we were the only people in the restaurant. When the food finally arrived, we got another shock. The naan was half burnt, dal makhni tasted stale and the chicken of the murgh methi malai was too stiff as if stored in a refrigerator for a couple of days. The food they serve was terrible. When we complained to the owner, she started arguing saying, " How can the food be bad?"
Her arguments sounded silly and unreasonable. She stated blabbering that no one has disliked the food ever.
The owner was very rude and the most un-hospitable restaurant owner as she was busy defending her point instead of accepting the fact. The price of the food is too high compared to the quality served. We were all frustrated by the behaviour of the owner. We just paid the bill and left the place without having the food. I can put up with bad food but never with bad service and unacceptable behaviour. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would prefer to starve but never visit this restaurant ever. Ruh is bad, and so are owners !!
Ultimate Hangout with Friends
Been there more than five times now and enjoy their cool settings inside, goes well when you get high on their cocktails. Enjoyed the on table buffet which was very nice indeed. Will definitely take my friends there again and again and also recommend you to try.
Best Corporate Hang Out
Was here all last week with my team of 36 members, we really had a great time at Ruh restaurant. The music was very nice; they were playing some English and Arabic tracks. The buffet was a complete meal and ended with a sweet tooth halva and ice cream. This time around the buffet was actually laid out on the table for us, which was actually more comfortable than each member going about here and there. The waiters were quick on their feet and the manager was all well dressed for the occasion. We had booked a week before hence there was no confusion and everything went about smoothly. Thanks to the Ruh team for making our event a success. This is the place I would recommend for all corporate parties.
Get Good Food here
The right place for you to enjoy a meal, the food out here is excellent. The Murg Dum Biryani is really tasty here. The Dal makhani is also very nicely prepared by their chef. Also try dishes like Mutton Biryani, Peas Pulao, Ghosht Rara, Special Dhaniya Kheema Mutter.
Going there in a group too is very nice, I was part of a team outing there and I like their buffet meals too. The down side is their service is a bit slow and sometimes you just have to keep waving at the waiter. The inside sections are well set with sofas for a comfortable time together with family or with friends. I really enjoyed chilling out with my beer and their really enjoyable music.
The managers are very helpful, they suggest the best dishes to try out. Go to Ruh for a good time.
Super Cool Restaurant
We were a team of 36 members and booked a place at Ruh on Friday for lunch buffet, must say my coworkers had a great time and a great meal with some great Arabian music. My team mates appreciated my choice of restaurant as I had introduced Ruh to them. I am a regular visitor to Ruh and go there with my family and friends. The buffet was super cool with a welcome drink, 5 starters, 5 main course, three varieties of rotis and rice and 2 desserts, a complete meal. Our table was ready the moment we entered and mineral water bottles on the table. We sat all together and relaxed and in 5 minutes our welcome drink on the table. Very good service, overall a good experience. Definitely I would introduce Ruh to all my friends and relatives too.
Pathetic Food n Burns your Pocket
I have to give a rating between 1 to 5, since there is nothing less than that.
I really regret being there, such a pathetic restaurant with very expensive menu.
- Ambience may be good with Arabian + Punjabi theme, but food was really really really BAD. I cant even compare it with roadside stalls
- Service was utterly bad, but they charge for services too... Dont know why!
- Every item there is really expensive and for that food... No Way.
** Never ever try that, many very good hotels are out there for the same amount you spend and with a much better ambience.
- Wash room was awful n stinky.
- Stair case, the entrance and the Parking were like being welcomed to HELL..!!
** Writing the review to help others not because of anger or frustration..!!
Worst Restro in Terms of Restro Common Factors
This restaurant is one of the worst restaurants in my list which I will never ever visit and also not recommended to anyone.
Poor piece of service
Full of mosquitoes
Entrance is that bad that I planned to step back
It really spoiled my day
Give Ruh a Try, This Place is Definitely Worth You
If you are a foodie this is the place for you cause the food here is excellent. The buffet quantity too is really satisfying. The Falafel Shawarma is my favorite here, also you could try their other Mediterranean dishes like Lamb Targine and Chicken in Orange and Tequila Sauce which is out of this world. Even their Indian dishes deserve credit with items like Mutter Methi Malai, Makai Palak, Kadai Vegetable, Ghosht Rara, Special Dhaniya Kheema Mutter and their Macchi Masala are worth praising. Drinks too are great. Their barman tosses up the bottles and churns out great cocktails for you, try their guava flavoured cocktail which is especially good. So as I said about food at Ruh youll have nothing to worry about.
If youre a large group then you have to book cause they actually cut out a menu especially for you and get it prepared and you can choose your dishes. Everything on their buffet menu is really great. Not very spicy but the flavours can be appreciated. Their pricing is also cool, Rs 591 for non-veg buffet on a weekday and Rs 625 on weekends is very good for their excellent food and good service compared to other restaurants who charge more and offer less.
The down side is their parking, little space to park your car and sometimes at the entrance you have to wait for long to get another car out of your way.
To say something about their interiors, well it depends on the persons perception. It could be a real chill-out kind of interiors or too jazzy for you. But as there are different themes you could select yours, the Arabian or the Spanish. Most of the crowd sits in their Spanish section maybe because of the A/C inside or what I dont know. But they really have cool seating inside their Spanish section, its called broken house or candle light area, we saw a couple seated inside and candles lit all around them, this section also has water surrounding it and rose petals strewn all over the footsteps. The manager explained that the exclusive seating area is for romantic couples and you can book it at an additional cost of Rs.3000 which includes a cake but is excluding food. That seating area was also really cool.
Coming to the service part, you will never have a problem on a weekday but weekends and the crowds definitely the service slows down, but at that time the best thing you can do is first chill out with a beer or your liquor and take it real slow and youll find that the service is not that bad.
The managers are most helpful here, they actually take time out and explain to you, about the place and about the best items on the menu and at the end of the meal they also give you their feedback forms and later you receive a call too asking how was your experience at Ruh.
Again if you want a good meal and a nice cozy place here it is.
We were a couple and wanted to celebrate our Wedding anniversary and I wanted to surprise my husband in a very very special place and one of my friends suggested Ruh Restaurant. She told me they had an exclusive dining area specially for couples on a romantic date or celebration. So I decided to call and book a table, a lady spoke to me and told me all about the arrangements. She had also taken my email ID and sent me the pictures of the Ruh Candle Light Area and I was pretty impressed just seeing the pictures of their candle light area candles lit all around with blue kind of water surrounding it like an island.
I blindly booked the place wishing nobody else had taken it because they only have one area and only one couple can book at a time lunch or dinner. I paid Rs.3000 extra for the Candle light area and extra for the food we had ordered. It was actually a tiny amount compared to the satisfaction and the happiness that we experienced and the surprise and love for my husband was just too much to take.
They paid extra attention to me and my husband and extra care was taken to every detail. I was especially impressed with the service and the food thats why I wanted to write this review and tell others about my experience.
Thanks to Ruh and their staff again for making my wedding anniversary special.
Great Mediterranean Food
One of the few restaurants in Bangalore that serves very good Mediterranean food and wherever you stay in Bangalore atleast one visit is a must. Even their Indian dishes deserve credit. Actually I stay in Bellandur and I find Ruh is the only good place around Marathally, Sarjapur road Outer ring road, and I wouldn't try any other restaurant or I would end up sick. The ambience is very cool and cozy types and service makes up for a more happy moment. Highlight of the day for us was their Falafel Shawarma. Highly recommended place
Mutton Biryani the Highlight
Although, I went here almost a year back, I still remember the mutton biryani they serve there. It was a small team outing and we were a little disappointed with the parking but then the good part was we enjoyed a great meal here. We went for dinner and they offered us their A/C tent seating inside which was really comfortable. We were a group of 17 members and walked in on a Saturday evening and found the place packed with people. One of our friends was throwing the party and he selected Ruh. I really praise him for that, we had a great time and soon sometime I will be taking my family along with me. Once through our drink the kick and the music sailed us through the evening with the crowd and people all busy and waiters running with food to the tables. A busy restaurant on weekends and its a nice place to visit if you are a gang and want a good place to drink, good food and good service. Ruh is also one of the best restaurants though its a bit on the expensive side, its really worth the money you spend. What else can you want once you enter the restaurant? Food and Drinks and cool interiors to relax and enjoy the evening and some lovely soft music to go with it.
One of the best Mediterranean and Indian Cuisine restaurants in and around Bangalore. As you enter you feel your in a different atmosphere with soft Arabian music playing in the backdrop. Lots of tiny lights lit up all around you. The interiors are amazing. The Sofa in their tent seating is very comfortable. Well a really well done place and you have different types of seating's too like the swing seats, very nice for the kids and the candle light area, the manager told me that it was the exclusive dining area for couples and also for people celebrating their birthday's and anniversaries. Ruh seemed to have renovated, new cushion covers and even the flooring seems to have changed.
We were a team of 45 and opted for the lunch buffet on a Thursday afternoon and before reaching we got a few calls from Ruh, they told us that everything was ready. The manager led us to our table, the tent area they called it and we waited for about 7 minutes and our welcome drink a mock-tail chilled with ice was on our tables. Later after all our discussions we were ready for Lunch and again we called the manager, he informed that everything was ready and we could serve ourselves. Mineral water bottles and glasses we already on the table the moment we arrived. The buffet was perfect and everyone appreciated the well cooked food especially the murg biryani was perfect with the gravy. Both the veg and non-veg dishes were very impressive. I could boast about the chicken wings tasty as ever. And to finish it all off in a sweet way came the jamoon and the ice cream. Service was also very good since there was always someone around if you needed anything. Ruh Restaurant sure can cater to a large audience, their service is good.
Corporate Chill Out
The Best Restaurant I have been to so far for real good food, good service and a great time together. All my team mates thanked me for choosing the right place for our team lunch. As we entered, the welcome drink, a chilled refreshing mock-tail was served to us. We relaxed and took time looking at the interiors and were discussing about it. Really amazing interiors. The person behind the interiors sure is very creative. The manager walked to us and explained politely that our food was all ready at the buffet counter and we could get our plates and serve our food. But we were waiting for all our team mates to arrive and then start our lunch. Listening to soft music playing we were busy chatting till all our gang arrived and then soon we settled for our buffet lunch. Really well prepared hot food from starters to main course and as we were all hungry we were filling our plates to the brim. Overall a very comfortable place to enjoy corporate lunches.
Worst Place to Visit
Worst Place I have ever been to...Complete waste of money and spoiled my evening..
NO good food
There was actually no variety and I can count only 2-3 dishes nothing more than that. Delay in serving
NO good service
Service is a big failure
Looks good only on photos...Not worth the money
Great Corporate Hangout
We had been there last Thursday and the treat we received from Ruh was fabulous. We were 26 members in all and Lunch was sponsored by our company. We had booked a place in their Spanish section and asked them to a table so that we could all sit together. We walked in at around 12.30 pm and could hear the loud beat of music which felt like a party was going on inside. The manager guided us to the table, it was comfortable seating inside their tent area. The ambience inside is just amazing and cozy as well. Water was immediately served on our table, then followed by our welcome drink and soon the starters, we hardly waited. All of us were in conversations with various things to discuss about. Special thanks to Ruh for serving us such delicious dishes, personally I really enjoyed their Murg Dum Biryani which with Raita was exquisite. The food is absolutely fantastic, not too spicy, thus my overseas clients loved the food. The service too was very efficient. By far, all my visits to Ruh have been wonderful and it is a great place to enjoy great food.
Most Romantic Restaurant in Bangalore
Just one visit and I am in love with this romantic restaurant as they call it. I was visiting with my family, 12 members in all. We chose to go there Friday evening for dinner. We called, a lady spoke to us and booked us a table. Their parking area was a little cluttered. We parked our car in the bottom of the building and took a lift straight to the top floor. The entrance was really nicely decorated with tiny lights and blue red lights hanging from the ceiling. They gave us a seat inside their Spanish section which is ac and was cool there. Really nice lights all over decorated and also darkness around. Their tent sating is really comfortable inside small tents. The manager handed us the menu, which looked quite cheap for such a big restaurant, we went through the menu and decided to try some Mediterranean dishes before we go for our regular rice and gravy. Perfect cooking and perfect garnishing, very well cooked dishes. When we entered the restaurant was almost empty but as we sat there, the entire section was filled with a hip crowd. Service was good but a bit slow, they also offered us free lime soda at the end of our meal. The music was just a beat going through the whole evening but was soft. A nice restaurant for a hearty and heavy meal which is light on the wallet. Would be visiting often.
Ruh reminds me of tasty delicious mouth watering food - would always go to Ruh for my weekend Lunch and Dinners. Also I have suggested Ruh to my colleagues who love the place's interiors and decoration and one of my friends who are a couple had also booked a candle light area once - they said they just loved the place and food and service. Thanks Ruh
Tasty Food and Amazing Variety
I took my parents to Ruh last Sunday for lunch. At first we were surprised at the super cool Spanish music playing. It is well done up and some people who arrived were taking photos of the place! We settled to order from their Mediterranean menu. We ordered Barra Kabab, Malai Kofta , Mutter Methi Malai really delicious must say. Every single dish tasted unique and was tasty. The Ghosh Kalimirchwala was especially good, I have had quite a number of food experiences in India however there are very few places in Bangalore where you really get the best and Ruh is one of the best with international quality. The staff took good care of us and helped us have a good time. Their parking place is dingy and dark. We had to call them to put on the lights but otherwise we had a great time.
Worst Experience ever..
Yesterday we booked the table for Ruh at bellandur for buffet . It was 9 people.
When we went in there we had a surprise. The hotel manager said that buffet has to be ordered by phone itself. That too this was informed to us after half an hour of waiting. This is no where mentioned in the sites.
Then they advised us to order a separate A LA CARTE and same was ordered. When we ordered, the order was too delayed from the normal time.
Now coming to the billing part, this is the worst thing I ever saw here. We ordered some 22 rotis and 22 rotis were served. When billing we were billed for 27 Rotis and that too above that they told we ordered a paratha. The paratha was written in a separate waiter bill which we never ordered..
Such a horrible experience we had Please never ever go here. If you at all want to go please check your bill properly and then only pay otherwise you will lose extra money out of your pocket
For Poor service, Manager gives the reason that few days back the old manager left and he also took all the boys with them.
A Great Place for Food and Wine
We were a large group of 23 members and were having a send off party. One of our friends suggested Ruh since he had been there with his family many times. Though their reviews were not so good, still most of the members decided on Ruh. We called and booked a place and also the lady who spoke to us fixed us a set menu with liquor. We were taken for a ride with their cool interiors. We had a great time and left late with memories of our dear friend leaving us. Sure a hot spot for diners.
A V O I D This Lousy Place!!!
Rating 0 least -- 5 best
Service - 0
Food - 0
Value of Money spent - 0
Place - 0 ( Dust all over - Lousy) - no proper lift service to reach floor.
If you hate yourself and your loved ones take them to this place. Observe carefully all 4 and 5 raters have common language so :) take my word or its not bad to loose time and money if you have extra.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER- UNCHI DUNKAAN FEEKA PAKWAN
We visited this place recently and are very very very DISAPPOINTED.
Not only with the careless staff, poor and slow service but tasteless and non presentable food too.
Imagine on Sunday evening you went out with friends to enjoy and have fun but return home late (because of super slow service) with anger and an empty stomach (tasteless food you couldn't finish and some dishes which were ordered and never came till 11 pm) . Finally prepared something at 11:00 pm. Ever happened with anyone?? I don't think so.... :-(
They served the starter in 1 hour and that too without any sauce or green chutney, even after reminding them thrice.
We finished that ok type Starter without chutney and asked for main course which we ordered with the starter itself but it didn't come ...Waited for one more hour Asked the different staff members and finally spoke to manager also, but no use. After 2 hours also, they told us rice is still not cooked and we have not much staff. GOD knows what kind of rice they prepare?
We asked for the best in veg and non veg dishes and what they served was daliya type of dish with some sambhar type of curry poured on it and in non veg full plate of rice with some dry tomatoes(non chew-able) and a few small pieces of chicken in it DISGUSTING!
The drinks we ordered (SEXY SUNRISE) was simply canned real juice (even a child can tell from the taste) but they charged RS 175 + service charge for this and refused to admit it... TOO MUCH!!!
After such an awful treatment we checked the bill and noticed that they added "papad" , which was never served I think this is a prize winning worst experience... Please Please DON'T EVER THINK OF GOING TO RUH or prepare something at home before heading for dinner as you may have to come back and look for options.
Attaching the bill also, just have a look.
I Suggest They Should Shutdown
One of the worst place ever visited. Table not laid even after the food was served. And the best part, the roof started leaking because of rain. And as mentioned earlier in one of the reviews, the manager went in to hiding when called for. I think the owner should think of something more than just saving money, at least a good roof SIR. Just by calling yourself a seven star group does not make you one. Please reconsider closing this place down. Would never visit any of your 3 restaurants again.
We'd visited Bangalore Central mall for no particular reason and we came across Ruh. An elegant and must say very romantic place, the staff here are just average. We were looking out for a good drink followed by a good meal and we got more than what we bargained for. We sat in a tent, royal tent this was a cool corner to chat and a waiter decided what we ate and it was good. Though their music was loud they reduced the volume on request. The also have a good variety of cocktails, we were in a mood to try different drinks. All in all a good drink, good food and romantic place. Ruh is one of the best places to be in.
ultimate food experience
This is one of the best restaurants for real good food. Me and my family just walked in there by accident and were pleasantly surprised to find the real cool decorated restaurant inside. The soft spanish guitar music playing. We settled in the spanish tent seating area and soon a waiter was getting us mineral water, handed us the large menu and suggested we try some mediterranean dishes. The food was really great and tasty
It upholds the tradition of pathetic service on Outer Ring Road, leading the pack even ahead of stalwarts like Phileas Hogg and Taste of Rampur. After being to this place, the roadside tea shop would feel like a five star hotel.
Absolutely hapless management and waiters who seem to have just doped up and come out for service. We saw guests from every 2nd table shouting at the waiters. Food was getting served on wrong tables. Water was served a whole half hour after taking the seat. High volume, low fidelity music kept blaring on the "Sufi" night with some random clown giving "live" table beats to music playing off pirated mp3 USB stick. All this when at least three to four guys seemed to be there pretending to be owners/managers (one guy pointing to tables, another roaming in a dracula coat, another one who's duty was to hear the guests' shouting).
Arguably the single worst fine-dining experience I've had in Bangalore. I have read people giving low ratings and heaping pretty high abuse for places which are actually quite OK - but trust me, this place really sucks and is best avoided like you'd avoid a visit to your in-laws.
Excellence At Its Best
Ruh is the best place for really good food and really fast service. We were a group of 35. Went there on a Friday evening and they also had live music playing. We had booked in advance. We had a great time there. They had an entire section reserved for us and they called it the tent seating. Really comfortable sofas. We all could sit together. Water and the starters came in immediately after we sat down. The murg dum biryani they serve is amazing.
Ruh Is Not A Place For A Firends Get Together
Really a very bad place if you are looking to spend time with friends. The staff is so oblivious of your presence. The hospitality is so bad that they dont even care to serve drinking water when guests arrive. A pathetic management. The manager goes hiding in to the corner when things go wrong and everyone tries to pass the buck around and does nothing to ease the problem faced by customers. They ask you to accommodate and adjust when they fall short of space, but will never adjust on their tarrifs.
I will recommend a corner snack wala or a Sagar tiffin place above this restaurent any time.
We were told that Ruh serves some of the most authentic and a wide variety of Mediterranean, Persian and Lebanese dishes and some great Indian dishes too. And I have to say I was not disappointed. We were a group of 10 people and we tried out loads of stuff from across the menu. I have to say it was a fantastic experience. Right from food to ambiance to service, Its a must visit. Can't wait to go back again.
3 Different Ambiance Under One Roof.
A real good Mediterranean food , we tried a lot of stuff. Pizza platters (baby pizza ) pita varieties are really good.I liked the decor ,a complete white at the entrance , and once you get in, the arabic decor . The food is authentic and being close to my office , I recommend some1 close to belandur. Try it is worth it and its cheap.
After hearing all good things about the place, we went for a team dinner, around 20 of us.
The place looks great with a very nice ambiance but the service is awful.
The waiters all looked like they had no clue what they were doing, they didn't understand what we were asking for, they couldn't serve the food well and they just seemed extremely ignorant.
We went there at around 7:30 for a buffet, and they made us wait till 8 before the first set of starters turned up. They took around half an hour to even serve us water.
Among the veg starters was one paneer dish and 2 varieties of potato, both of which could have easily worked as aloo-sabzi instead of a starter of the real kind.
The non-veg had 3 types of chicken dishes, one of which wasn't even cooked well. There was no other meats available for starters.
After this finished, which was by around 8:20, they made us wait another hour before the main course was sent in. We sat there for an hour, before the first set of food trickled in.
In spite of repeated requests, they kept asking for 5 mins.
This took so long, that most of us left even before the desserts came in.
All the bad service and waiting left a very bad impression on all of us about the restaurant.
Tasty and delicious and a place that is inviting, be it the waiters dressed in cool jeans and white shirts. This is definitely a place not to miss for special occasions. They also have a candle light area with water surrounding and this place is for special occasions. The place gets really crowded weekends so better to book. We had a great time at Ruh with the best of Mediterranean and Indian food.
NEVER EVER GO THIS PLACE!!!!
A BIG NO !!!!
I went to this place on valentines day with my wife... And it was the not bad... it was the worst... worst of all... We could hav had in road side gobi manchurian stall... First we were given a lame place for dinner when they charged 1.5k only for seating... Later we got 4 starters which were not tat good.... After sumtym they got on my nerves... Told to clear plates and spoon nd they did... later for half hour or so... We neither had cutlery(Fork spoon nd knife) nor water to drink... Nd we were hunting for sum server or manager to get their attention... Nobody was around... then there was a guy with full english accent (looked like a owner/partner) and i explained him politely tat i had no water & cutlery... then he went inside the kitchen after few mins.. He is murmerring loudly using 'F*#K' word in front of customers...
Then the real torture... we ordered chiken with orange juice & sauteed with taquilla... OMG!! It never tasted like orange nor tequilla or nethin... it was the worst thing i ever had... same plight was the couple next table... they ordered sumthin with lamb.. nd we got it for our table... all were cluless... then I passed the plate to next table... Then came the grand item!! The bill... Rs.4000/- its not about money... but this place was never worth even for free!!!! PLS DO NOT EVER THINK ABOUT GOING TO THIS PLACE!!!!!
Very nice ambience decent food.
I went to this place with a date on a suggestion from a friend and boy that was some date. This place is very exquisite and I love the shacks that they have.. Must say you dont expect this good a place near Belandur. The food is not all that great though they have a mix cuisine of arabian, mediterranean and indian and it is little heavy on the wallet. But I would recommend people to go here for the ambience the food is just the bonus..
Ruh-Resto Bar Yummy Place
I had an awsome experience after visiting Ruh.It presents diners with the ultimate restaurant experience. The ambiance around it is pretty good. The food quality is too good. Overall, it was a worth a visit place if you guys are looking for a finer place for your food.
Tasty really Tasty
You want to really yourself and have great yummy food just go to ruh on bellandur outer ring road and you will get the best of indian and mediterranean food along with great cocktails and mocktails. we were a team of 45 members and booked prior to going and found the place really packed on a thursday evening. Really quick service, easy place to park, kind and polite waiters, everything was on our table. This was the best experience, compared to the pathetic restaurants we had been to earlier.
This place was a huge disappointment. We went there for our team lunch after looking at the photos on their site. the ambiance was good but the food was sub standard. The prices are also sky high. On returning I heard similar reviews from almost all my friends. I for one, am never returning to Ruh again!!
Worst food !!
Have been there for one of the team party given by company ...it was worst food i have ever had in bangalore that too it was costliest dinner...Ambience is really superb, so people may go for ambience but not for food..rate wise also it's expensive..
So for me it's 2/5 only because of good ambience !!
this was my fourth visit to ruh i have always been a big fan of the restaurant mainly coz of the ambience & also the food has always exceeded our expectations specially the starters..but the experience this time however was very disappointing..it seems they have changed their chef ...starters were average,we ordered potli kabab, malai chicken tikka & one more paneer starter...in main course bhuna chicken was horrible ,achari vegetables was the best out of all the things ordered...but far below our expectations....
Tasty Mediterranean Treat
Went to ruh on a Saturday evening with my family and found the place exhilarating one can get lost in its charm. The place I found was realy good for relaxing especially if you had a hardweek and want to refresh and rejuvenate yourself. A place to get hooked to with irresistible mediteranean dishes. Dishes that are out of this world are veg crostini platter made of sun-dried tomato pesto, mushroom and marscapne, babagnush, balsamc spinach and feta, humus and kalamat olive, black olive tapende. Non-veg crostini platter made from chicken, smoked salmon and horseradish, tuna and cucmber, shrimp and jalepno, rosemary lamb with hummus, sweet mustard chicken with smoked cheese, prawn, papaya and saffron chicken. Non-veg mezze platter made from hummus, babaghanush, tabbouleh, cacik, mukhallil, lamb sambousik kibbeh lahme, dijaj-bil-zatar served with pita bread and lavash chips is really mouth watering and tasty. The other must trys foods are orange and olive salad, smoked chicken salad, garlic bread with smoked cheese, chicken wings, chicken shawrma, smoked chicken and sun-dried tomato paella is another treat for those who have never tried it before. And the best way to complete your experience here is the hot chocolate fondant or tiramisu. Requested them to give me a copy of their menu and they did. If your serious about getting some real good food with some excellent service then you cant miss ruh.
Great team outing
A team outing in ruh is the most amazing experience what with their lavish buffet lunch from the soups to starters and main course to the desserts its a mouth watering treat for the senses. We were a team of 18 guys and 6 ladies looking out for a nice place near by our company and somebody suggested ruh and everyone was like yes, thats a really great place to enjoy and relax, since it was a friday and knowing that we could relax the weekend, we werent in a hurry. The waiters bought in the menu and aah the mouth watering dishes turned up on the table soon after. All of us stopped mid way our conversation and were busy munching away at the tasty lahori sabzi seekh kabab, paneer tikka, murg ka soola and murg gilafi kabab for the starters section. We really were filled when the murg dum biryani came in, and still didnt want to miss the malai kofta with plain rice was just amazing. Ending our meal with the kulfi falloda was just perfect. Overall a great experience, the best place for group dining and families.
Food quality / service sucks big time
I really wonder how does this restaurant could survive for so long. i will any way speak to owner of this restaurant .
We went for team outing, around 15 people. we choose to go for buffet. now i can narrow down my feed back in below sections.
Do not what one can like about that ambiance. as soon as we enter to room, room freshener was used. I hate this kind of place, after paying so much of amount . going to such a dirty place, not my cup of tea.
It was not at all professional. the way there manager was talking, it was as if i am having free lunch in TAJ, where they are telling me, its your choice whether you want to have or not.
one of the worst place i have ever been in bangalore. i am a person who eats out for at least once in a week, and that too at good places.
here we choose fixed menu Buffet. buffet was suppose to give me freedom of what i want to eat and when . but here they restricted the order too .
Truly speaking if it would not have been team outing, i would not even have paid a singe Rs there. i would have just walked out.
you are charging as good as BBQ nation, and food quality was bad compare to any Govt hostel.
i hope some one from hotel group will see what you are serving there.
Ruh is a celebration
What was suppose to be an ordinary evening dinner turned into a pleasant surprise of stunning extravagant entertainment with tasty mediterranean and indian food. We spoke to the manager there and he explained they have three different sections inside moroccan, arabian and spanish. Could hear soft spanish music playing in the background. The smart waiter dressed in a white shirt and wearing jeans handed over the menu to us. The menu had a lot of dishes and hard to choose, we settled for the mouthwatering al-harira soup, falafel shawarma, murg dum biryani and sweet corn & mushroom crepes. The courteous waiters and staff help you in having a great time.
The ambience is on top of the world when all lit up and with three different sections you get confused what or where to choose to sit. But I noticed its always packed inside their AC Spanish section so me and my husband always head there. Their candle light area looks very very impressive with candles lit all around you and the blue waters below with red lights all above. My husband and me being foodies ourselves, loves food and if we are not doing it we are dreaming of it. So we had to find him a very very nice place to munch ourselves to heaven. Here the indian and mediteranean food offers a lot of variety, value for money and you get a bit confused what to choose with so much on the menu. To put it down all simple you should try their best dishes like tomto ka shorba, murg shrba, lahori sabzi sekh kabab, subzi potlikabab, paneer tikka, murg ka soola, paneer makhani, paneer korma, mali kofta, kadai vegetble, murg bhuna, murg rara, murg kadai, murg biryani, ghosht Biryani. I would recommend this place if you want good food, a nice quiet ambience with soft spanish music playing, smart and helpful waiters.
Was stunned to find Ruh Resto-Bar with its dazzling display of lights in its interiors. This one is truly a nightlife spot for youngsters and entertainment for the whole family. The place is pretty big inside with plenty of space. Chilling our in ruh and spending the whole evening there is what most large families do during weekends. This popular restaurant and bar is simply stunning with red brick walls and huge arches as doors. We also heard that this place gets too crowded during weekends, but thats the time to let your hair down and have fun with their different type of spanish music, keeps your feet tapping. There is also a candle light areas with candles lit all around you here is where couples usually sit celebrating their wedding anniversary or something. Their menu is large with Spanish and Indian foods, offering sizzling spanish tapas to mouthwatering Mezze. Fabulous north Indian and mugulai delicacies gives your taste buds the real feel. Their beverage menu too offers you the most delicious mix. Ruh for sure great value for money and a great evening together with family.
We have been here so many times and on so many occasions and some precious moments to remember. Like my wedding anniversary, my daughters birthday and so many other occasions when we visited with our family and relatives. The place itself is interior designed for a grand occasion and they have three different sections mediteranean, arabian and spanish section to choose from. Most of times we choose the spanish section inside because the tent seatings are really comfortable, swing seats for my kids to play. The sand area too is nice with pretty little colored lights hanging from the ceiling. Coming to food we love the murg dum biryani and gulab jamon with ice cream some of the really good dishes are paneer tikka, lahori subzi seekh kebab, murg ka shola, murg malai tikka, paneer korma, diwani handi, mutton kofta curry, murg aachari. We have also tried their mediterranean menu which also has some very well cooked tasty dishes like orange & olive salad, chicken & garlic soup is yummy, shish tauk & chicken wings are a treat for the senses. The tasty main course for mediteranean dishes are vegetable tagine, sweet corn & mushroom crepes and smoke chicken & sun dried paella are all a treat. They also have a liquor menu but since we are a family stayed completely off the liquor menu, a glass of chilled coke too cools the senses after a great meal. Also their service I cant forget to mention must be given a medal cause the waiter are all on the run getting your food quick and never forget to get the mineral water served first at the table. Parking out there is not a bit of a problem, though they have valet parking, most times we have parked our car on the main road itself, easy to get in and drive off. To conclude this is one of the best and most talked about restaurants well atleast on the sarjapur ring road and surrounding marathalli and Bellandur. I feel its a must visit restaurant in Bangalore.
yes this place is one great place for tasty food, the biryani, murg ka soola and paneer tikka, dal tadka and even their mediterranean food is all very well prepared. So if your on the outer ring road head to ruh to not miss having a great time. The service also is not so bad though should be done faster. Great place great time for families.
Nice Ambience.. Decent Food and Over priced !!
We went for a dinner.. They have a very nice ambience that I must admit. Service was reasonably good. Everything is overpriced but the food quantity doesn''t seem to match the price. We enjoyed the Briyani and the Murg-Soola. It was really delicious.Location of this restaurant is a drawback due to the congested area of the Bangalore Central. And it doesnt show up very inviting place from outside.
wonderful team outing
I have just joined burrp.I am really surprised to read bad reviews about Ruh, as it was an awesome evening yesterday in Ruh. The food was exceptionally good, specially the chicken shawarma. It was well combined with meat and accompaniments and it's taste was great. My team really enjoyed the ambiance and their service was quick on call.
We plan to have another outing there very soon.
Horrible food and very Expensive
We had ordered for Mediterranean food and It was horrible and too expensive.
The starters were very less compared to the amount they were charging for the platter.
The main course was oily and very less and the rice was over cooked and sticky.
Even the drink was not cold and tasted different .(We had ordered for mojito). Service was not great . Only the ambiance was good .
But we would never go back to this place ever gain. It was too costly and not worth the bad food they had served.
Excellent Place and Tasty treat
As the heading says it all the only other words I can use is Fantastic Experience. Went there with my family, as we always prefer to go to a restaurant just before sunset and like to spend the entire evening there, Ruh was one of the best places as the tent seatings are really comfortable there and swing seats for my kids to play around. The service also is pretty fast. Definitely a place to vist over and over again for big and large families alike.
We planned a team lunch and booked table (for 16 ppl) in this restaurant in advance. We reached the place 5 mins in advance and were shocked to find that they had given our table to another group which as per their records booked after we did. The host was too rude in even giving us this info and asked us to wait for 1 hour or so. Talking to the person who handles bookings didnot help. Finally after about 30mins of waiting, they told us to have starters in the place where we were standing and wait for some tables to get freed up in the next hour or so, and we walked out with our plans totally screwed up.
Such was the unprofessional behavior this restaurant management exhibited, totally unworthy of any decent crowd.
We didnot get a chance to taste their food.
Their interiors looked a cheap imitation of Jalsa.
They have 2-3 differently themed seating area, but please dont fall prey to the tactics, else you will be grilled in the oven like ambience in the afternoons.
OVERALL, TOTALLY USELESS PLACE. IF YOU CHOOSE TO GO, BE PREPARED TO HANDLE THE SHAME OF BEING TURNED BACK OR ASKED TO WAIT FOR HOURS. A BIG NO NO IF YOU ARE GOING FOR CELEBRATIONS OR TAKING YOUR CLIENTS ALONG
Best in the Outer Ring Road/ Sarjapur area
While looking for restaurants around Sarjapur, I came across Ruh. I checked for the pictures on Burrp and it looked good to me. A few colleagues and me went for their buffet lunch. We called and made a reservation and were told the buffet costs 425+ taxes. Before we went, we weren't so convinced with the pricing. We had decided to go see the place and the spread and then leave if we did not like it. But, when we walked into Ruh, we were all just taken aback by the ambiance. We were asked to take our seats and a waiter walked upto us and told us the buffet is a service buffet where they serve us on our tables. When he showed us the buffet menu, we were quite impressed, since they had a huge spread. The food was very tasty and the staff very courteous. The place was packed, yet the service was fast and efficient. We were very cynical about visiting this place since there aren't any good restaurants around Sarjapur, but Ruh has changed that opinion. Me and all my colleagues loved the place and had a great time. Totally worth the money. Great to finally have a good restaurant in this area. Keep up the good work!
Very bad food with low quality staff
We went on a weekday. After calling waiter multiple times he came and took order..served dirty water with something floating inside it. Then we were served with stale paneer tikka and chutney. On informing the waiter started eating it instead of tasting it and told us this is how we make it. We had no option to walk off from the place. I guess the place is going to shut down really soon. Must no no.
Great staff who shows fantastic professionalism
I enjoyed my team outing with Ruh, Would like to thank Nateshan for helping us to have a great team outing and a client visit.
Some of their key strengths:
People are always available on call to make quick reservations.
Fantastic pricing for corporates and team outings
Very flexible in services and on the menu
Professionally well mannered staffs
One of the best Mediterranean foods in Bangalore
Easy to find the restaurant ;-)
Thank god you have a Parking lot
Nateshan dont wanna miss you in the lot, you rock !!
Good one- infact with a difference
We visited this place for dinner yesterday. The ambiance is different and quite good one. The music played was good as well. Now about the food, we had Tandoor chicken which was well prepared and then Lamb Tangine which too was very good. Their tiramisu was a let down though Rabadi Malpua was quite good. Service was very good. Overall a very good place. We'd been to Jalsa and this was far better than Jalsa. Planning to do a re-visit some time soon.
I work at HSBC and I am regular at Ruh till now. Right from first day of it's opening I with group of colleagues have been visiting Ruh. Collectively, we are of view that the service has deteriorated significantly. Yesterday, we have to wait almost 40 mins for simple starter we had ordered. Then, we have to call multiple times for drinks. Over and above, they made a mistake in billing. Though I am regular, they weren't ready to listen to me. We never take small pegs, and the bill showed 9 small pegs. Then the waiter was saying that he had forgot to add one small peg. We just laughed at them and walked away. We paid for 9 small pegs.
Good ambience + Ok food + Over priced
Ambience is really a breath of fresh air (literally). though i am not sure if this place is worth going in afternoon (or may be they are not even open in afternoon). in night the ambience is nice and very different.
food is 'OK' types, nothing great that you would want to come back to. and i think it is over priced too.
so if u wanna go for some special occasion to a very different place and do not expect a great food (OK works for you) then do visit
Ruh was an amazing experience for my friends and me. The ambience and the service were really good. The food was very indulging. We were a group of 8 people , had a tasty and filling meal and a great time. It wasn't too much on our pockets and it was definitely worth the food. The starters are simply delicious.
A Change Atlast
Ruh is one place everyone must try. For the Food, music, interiors. Though the service is slightly slow, their food is tasty, delicious and satisifying, it could be lunch or dinner. I usually go there for dinner with my family, since we are 8 of us we always choose their inside spanish section, large comfortable sofa seats and kids can play around while we elders can sit and chat there through dinner. The only problem is the main road where the flyover is being constructed since it is not yet finished the road itself is so crowded with vehicles, so getting to ruh is a little bit of moving through traffic. Overall a Great Restaurant
Worth every penny spent
Ruh is a beautiful place to spend an evening with your family, I go there regularly with my family, we always settle down in the tent seating area, the waiters there know us well since we visit often, hence we get our service fast. Their food is the best part to talk about, the murg ka soola, and murg dum biryani all cooked to perfection and servied hot makes for a satisifying evening. They also have Mediterranean food which I have tried too over all a great and lovely place to visit.
Worst & Over-hyped - Nothing except ambience...
We went there few days back for lunch. The ambience was good and there ends all the good part.
The waiters were disinterested to take order, as if they are doing us a favour by serving us.
Food was even more pathetic. Stale fish & Worst Biryani.
On top of it, it's 'highly' over-priced for that food. I think the restaurant was over-hyped. The only reason they are still surviving must be because they are near to all software offices.
NEVER VISITING AGAIN !!!
I had heard quite good reviews of the place and decided to try it out with a couple of my friends.
The place has a very nice ambiance and looks really cool but i am afraid the good things about the restaurant just end there. The food is okay-ish at best and more often worse. The quantity also is extremely poor comapred with the prices and what's more the description in the menu hardly matches the dish served!!
The first time i went there we had Mediterranean cuisine and it was way below par. I am not a fan of mediterranean food so i thought i will give this place a second chance but alas I shouldn't have done so. :(
The second time we had Indian food and though the quantity was okay the food was also just that- okay. Nothing good about the food.
The only thing going for this place is the ambiance. Please dont visit this when you are hungry for good food or want to have something nice to eat.
BEST IN BANGALORE
We went to this place called Ruh on outer Ring road and left the place satisified with the food and service. The interiors of the restaurant are really spectacular and dazzling with lights, which all looks stunning and pretty. Must say this is one of the best places in Bangalore to dine out with family. They never keep you waiting unlike other restaurants, food is brought to your table real quick.
An Enjoyable Outing
We went for a Sunday brunch to RUH. Really enjoyed the ambiance. It was a nice relaxed meal. Initially there was a little bit of confusion as to what was available as part of the deal. Then Natesan, the manager stepped in and was really helpful. The waiters were extremely alert and prompt at serving us each course. Food was tasty, with a combination of Mediterranean and north Indian dishes to choose from, with lots of starters that really filled me up. I hardly had space for the main course! But when the chicken biriyani I had chosen came, it was so delicious I couldn't help but dig in. it was a nice relaxing way to spend the afternoon. I do wish their timings were a bit longer though, so it would make for a really lazy Sunday afternoon.
BEST OF THE BEST
Ruh, the place looks so grand, it lightens up your mood from dull, boring to delightful and exciting. It is a state-of-the-art restaurant which boasts of an elegant, well designed and striking ambience. Well Ambience is the 1st thing you would notice. Though we were not so hungry we were not disappointed at all with the food. Ruh for us was the Best Food Joint with tasty North Indian and Mediterranean dishes. Ruh has specialized in quality meals and food here is served very fresh at very reasonable price. Everything there is very orderly and neat and tidy and the service is very good, waiters understand you perfectly. The place is located on the outer ring road not very far from marathally or from sarjapur. Perhaps you too should try this one for a change.
Thanks to RUH!!! Appreciate your help!!
Hi All.. Jus wanna share my experience with RUH.. I had planned to surprise my sister on her birthday by a candle light dinner.. I contacted evening flavors and they suggested RUH.. Hence i got in touch with this restaurant,.. I m from chennai, i had no clue on how the place would look and how i could make this plan a successful one.. I first spoke to Ali from this restaurant, i told him this plan and he asked me not to worry and gave me an assurance that they could make it up for me.. The team then sent me the pictures of the place and the setup.. I tot i could give it a try,, therefore reserved a table for 2 of my most special friends (My sister and brother) ..
Finally it was the day, the two went there, they called me immediately and told they liked the place and the ambience a lot.. They had a great time ,the food and service was good as well is wat they told me.. Finally the team surprised my sister by forming a train and bringing the cake.. i believe everybody sang for her. . . Thank you for this favour from RUH, for fulfilling my surprise gift...
A SPECIAL THANKS TO NATESAN who beared with me and helped me to make things smooth.. He made all arrangements as i wished, .. Thank you Natesan.. I also thank Ali , Mala, the entire team for this and Evening flavors as well for suggesting this restaurant ... Next time i go to Bangalore i would definitely visit Ruh..
APPRECIATE YOUR EFFORTS, KEEP IT UP!!!
Ruh - Good food, Good Ambiance -- PATHETIC Service
Went there on a Saturday night.
The ambiance was no doubt amazing. Different themes !!
The Food was good, ...
but the service was PATHETIC... (spoiling its image)
On a Saturday night they had ONLY Kingfisher beer, no other variety - This shows their preparation for a Weekend !!!!
On our request, they agreed to get Carlsburg/Budweiser from outside - within 5 minutes. However it came after 40 minutes, surprisingly not Carlsburg but Tuborg :(
If I tell you in detail - These 40 mins were terrible - multiple orders were being taken by multiple attendants - & everyone giving their suggestions on non-availability of carlsburg/Tuborg.
During this waiting time, they filled our table with all the starters... unfortunately by the time beer arrived, half our appetite was already full...hence we could have only 2 pint each :(
.... The attendant seemed to be all trainees, with majority couldn't understand English... we say something, and they respond completely different !!!
I wouldn't go there ever again, rather would suggest Barbeque Nation Jayanagar far better !!!
TASTY FOOD & DRINK
I took my family along with me to this restaurant called ruh, its very close to marathalli. I was stunned by their ambience, it had three different sections, arabian and spanish. the place was all lit up with lights and spanish music was playing. The best part was the Food and the Drink, all served in style, we enjoyed their chicken biryani and washed it down with a guavitini. This place is the best I have been to in Bangalore, I would definately recommend you to go there atleast once. Only thing is that the place is sometimes overcrowded.
I have been there 3 times thinking the service would have improved but NO... It keeps getting worse. I had gone there for team lunch and came back dissapointed with service. The ambiance is over the top. The have forgotten its not the ambiance but service and quality of food that matters in a restaurant and both happen to be bad.
Horrible place, not worth the money
Perhaps one of the worst restaurants I've been to at this price level. The food was atrocious. We ordered grilled King Prawns and what we got was the smallest prawns available. So instead of charging us less, we got 4 more of the little ones and charged the same (Rs. 575). The cocktails were horrible. My wife ordered two, the first one was watered down so we complained and the next one was just pure liquor. We ordered some chicken(with bone) that was so oily we had to wipe our fingers after every bite. We also ordered some fish kebab which wad made from fish sausages which I can imagine where they got from. All this at the same price at more high-end eateries and it makes you wonder why any body would go there.
Forgot to mention - It was raining, so we heard it all during the evening. The corrugated roof that they have makes sure you hear every drop.
Overall, the restaurant is not worth it unless they reduce prices by half. I had a peek into the kitchen and there doesn't seem to be a qualified chef inside, just some boys making up stuff.
And if you are still going there, stick to the Indian food. There are lesser chances of you feeling utterly duped when you get the bill. Not a regular poster on buurp, but quite the foodie and this restaurant made me want to write this review first thing in the morning.
Not a vegetarian's delight
I went to this place with the hope that considering there are multiple focsses on the cuisine, food would be decent.
Artistic ambience - very arabian touch & hookah
Expensive, Not value for money food - hardly found the paella to taste even remotely spanish - Location being bang on the main road with minimum parking options
Great ambiance and Chicken Saagwala!
The first time I went there was on a team lunch (the team is pretty big - 25 members) and I have been there a couple of times after that.
The very first thing you notice is the ambiance, its different..very..! The place is divided in two parts, one of them (the part you enter first) is designed to look like an Arabian setting. The second portion is closed, air conditioned and is lit with dim red lights.
The restaurant is on the terrace which has been very smartly designed to give a middle east sort of a vibe by using sand for floor (yes sand !!) which bites if you are not wearing fully closed shoes (ladies beware), is not ACed, somewhat of a mood spoiler for some (not for me). There are tables and chairs and also small Arabian styled seating arrangements under a couple of shamiyanas, where you can sit Desi - Sheikh style :p
The second portion is closed (or third if you include the lounge sort of setting they have just at the entry) with a proper ceiling (instead of a very high tin roof in the first portion, which I loved btw..), air-conditioned and has these beautiful hangings on the ceiling. Dim red lights and swings to sit on, just closes the deal...as far as ambiance is concerned.
Food? Well, my favorite here has been the Saagwaala Chicken, I had it in their buffet and it is not mentioned in the menu. So you may need to ask for it separately. Chicken Achari is also good. I am yet to try a dish in mutton. But the saagwaala has so far been the highlight. The prices are a pretty high for the but ambiance and food makes it worthy.
As far as the buffet is considered, the starters are good (only BBQ Nation beats them at the starters), the main course is goood (read amazing) and the desert must be good, but you are rarely let with any room to have 'em..!
Service may seem a little slow at rush hour, you may need to push them a little!
Did I mention the Arabian music..? and the big projector they set up during the World cup? So, weather you want to sit on a chair, a swing, or a carpet...Ruh is the place that offers you the most vibrant ambiance and some very good food !!
Nice Place , Average Food
It's the kind of place you instantly like on walking in. The sheer effort that has gone into creating a thematic ambience is impressive. Greek, Moroccan and Middle-Eastern i am told. I particularly liked the tables with swings for seats.
The service is OK. I has to send in a couple or reminders for my drink, but my husband got prompt refills.
The food is very very average. The portions , however, are substantial.
We has 2 of the appetizers between us and had to pack some of it to-go. The cold Mezze platter is good. The Tzatziki was yummy, the roasted eggplant was divine and the Hummus was excellent. But the hot platter could improve. The spinach pie was luke warm and has very little spinach in it. the spanakopita was weird with just cheese in it. The Falafel was like Masala Vada and i cant remember what else was on the plate ( that explains it, i suppose)
The Pizza platter was the other dish we ordered and that was utterly unbearable. First of all, it was not Pizza. More like Bruschetta. No , Wait - it was like toppings on biscuit. We had one each, packed the rest and had to discard it the next morning. I feel a little guilty being this rude about it, but i really think they should take this off the menu or call it something else. I felt very deceived.
Would i go here again? - I think so. There is a lot i haven't tried yet and it's a nice place to generally hang out. They have a big screen - so is probably where i will watch some of the IPL matches with friends.
Great place for food and wine
Been to this place more than 5 to 6 times and still want to go there with family and friends because of the cool ambience, the water seating and tent seating really puts you at comfort and you start enjoying the pleasant evening there. I would recommend you to go with family. The food is amazing tasty the murg dum biryani especially. The crowd too is good there every evenings.
Ruh ba roo!
Well, was hanging out at a friends place in Bellandhur and he suggested we go to Ruh... I was told it is on the lines of Jalsa.. but is not - the theme and the cuisine ..was "Mediterranean".For a warm summer evening this place is really nice. The ambience is quite comfy . The pricing is slightly on the higher side. The mojito was not too bad .
The setting was quite peaceful and relaxing .
I have been just twice -
The inside with the lights etc. is also pretty . It is a typical deserty setting ... with arabian music.
Will I go there again - YES :)
