Best Sunday Breakfast
I came down from Mumbai for some project work and went to my friends place in banashankari. I had a privilege of staying back and just go around looking for a breakfast. I found this place extremely crowded. But it worth it. The idlis here just melt in your mouth and crisp vadas are on the other hand perfectly made too. I tried the filter coffee too. I just got reminded of idlis from Matunga... If you are from anywhere outside Bengaluru and in banashankari, don't miss this at all.
By far the Best South Indian Joint
I have been hooked on to this joint for the last 17years...
It just scores superbly well on all the parameters of food quality, freshness of the food, overall general upkeep (may be am partial on this front) and above all service quality & consistency in the quality of the food...
I wonder why don't they scale up and set up across BLR....
The best treats of this joint: crispy vada and fluffy idlis soaked in butter and liberal amounts of freshly made chutney...now a days they have diversified into the hot n delicately spiced dosas as well...
4 dishes on the menu @ 6
Its 5.58 am at BSK, the sun rays hasn't yet touched ground. at least a 100 two wheelers parked on a quite, sleepy main road & most of its owners jogging and walking at a beautiful park adjacent to the road. Opposite to this park, a small shop opens it half closed shutters. Suddenly a crowd gathers and trying to buy coupons. This is the daily routine for many people.
4 items in the menu to choose from..... Soft idlys, crispy vadas, kharabath and Kesari bath on top of it... no Sambar!!! That's right... thats the entire menu. Like it or leave it... But... no one leaves this place without tasting every item on the menu. I am not exaggerating. That's the truth of this tiny shop which calls itself SLV Refreshments. The place is so small that the water filter is fitted outside the restaurant!
What makes it so special... TASTE, CLEANLINESS & its chutney. You would get confused as to what's the main dish... Idly or Chutney? Yes, another one important part which makes it a canteen, a class apart. The service. 2 young men in their mid twenties serve the ever hungry customers with a constant smile. The smile never fades, even when you go for more chutney the 4th time!!!
If you want finger lickin' good south indian snacks please try this place out. The idli's here are a must try. If it was a stand alone eating place you wouldn't spot it but the crowd outside will definitely alert you (especially at breakfast time). There are three SLV's in Banashankari, go to the smallest one for the best snacks you'll taste in your life.
