Not the Greatest!
A friend and I visited Socie-Tea two weekends ago. I have been wanting to try this place out for a while as the name sounds really nice. Finally, the chance came. Socie Tea is set back from the main 100 foot road and is therefore away from the noise of the traffic. There is also ample parking (road side) around Socie Tea. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted to sit inside and as my friend didn't like the thought of relaxing on the floor mattresses (I love those), we sat down at a table in one of the inner rooms. We then realized we had to place our orders at the counter and so, got up and did so. The food was delivered to our table. It took a while to come and I personally did not enjoy it. I also got a shock at the amount of food the cafe had. I expected it to be something like Infinitea, due to its name. Tea, however was clearly not the sole focus here. The ambience is nice, the music good and the location is ideal. However, the food and the service need improvement. Our waiter seemed very very simple. Getting the waiters attention was also very very hard. They were more interested in watching the Cricket match than serving the customers. This is something the management should correct. The bill was also gotten wrong and we had to send it back to have items added in. All in all not the great experience I envisioned it to be.
A Great Urbanized Indian place...
A great urbanized hang out ! Both the menu and the decor have an upmarket sophisticated appeal ! One of the few places where Iv'e felt complete justice for the kind of money payed ! Keep up the good work and keep serving great food guys :)
Give a Miss
Visited the place yesterday. Ordered for Ginger tea and Samosa. Tea took a long time to come. The tea was re-heated once and not freshly prepared. Ginger was not fresh. No one can prepare tea worse that this. The samosas never came. Paid for tea and left the place. Give a miss. Not worth visiting.
Oily and tasteless
Went here on a friend's recommendation. The decor is decent and the price reasonable, But the goods are down right disgusting. I ordered a paratha and ginger tea,. The paratha was cut into pieces, mixed with some stinky masala and litres and litres of oil.
For a place that has 'tea' in its name, one would expect a decent tea. The tea tasted artificial like those ginger drops had been added to it.
The choco cake was as dry as a sandpaper.
Overall, wouldnt step into it again!
Going downhill - fast
A chai shop is about the chai, this was my second visit and though I came away impressed the first time, it was a total let down the second time around.
The sugar was not mixed with the chai ( desi style), so the concoction became too sweet and did not mix with the chai. Also all that stirring drove away any heat from the cup.
They are trying so hard to differentiate with the art stuff and decor that they are forgetting what their primary promise is all about - a great cup of chai!!!
Societea a nice place to chill
Liked this place as it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of 100 Ft road, Indiranagar. Was surprised with the quality of chai being served, needed a replacement to chai patty as it is over run by teenagers.
Hopefully this place does not end up attracting droves of people, or will end up looking for another chai shop :)
But on a serious note was surprised at how affordable the chai was, a bit more than what A2B charges for a burnt cup of tea.
One place to be yourself, do what you want to do, chill out, showcase your talents, multipurpose cafe.
We can play games, read news papaers, books, have meetings, tarinigs, kitty parties, showcase your art work......name it and they will provide a platform for you to do what you are good at and love to
