Just A Decent Place

We had been here for a team lunch. The name appeared quite rosy and we assumed that the food too will be great. As we walked in and took seat, we were served with some fantastic paneer starters. They were delicious and we all were delighted.

But then, that was it. Whatever came next was all average food. There was nothing which to slurp, as we had expected. The variety too was not that great.

Shameful

Very, very mediocre! We had the Behari Kebab (Rs.425), Dal Makhni (Rs.225), Chooza Makhni (Rs.325), Khazana E Lazzat (Rs.270), Warqi (Rs.145) and Laccha Parathas (Rs.60 each).
Very sorry to say nothing appealed to us. We were the only customers there and the restaurant's behaviour was bizarre. They kept switching on and off the lights at about 11 pm. If you want us to leave, why don't you just come tell us?
Not going back in a hurry.

WORST RESTAURANT

I have been twice to this place, 4 months back ,regretted it then and even now.
The food variety is less, just a bunch of usual starters of kebabs which you can get in any moghuli or dhaba. And a couple of gravys and a rice item they call biryani. Deserts were all the more avergae, just 2 fruits some rasgullas/jamuns, 1 ice cream, some mango phirni which my friend thought tasted like papya. And WORST chicken soup I had ever had, it was smelling horrible.
Even if they were not serving many varieties to choose from, they could have atleast given a few that tasted good. Even the taste was like eating stale chicken and tasteless. I ended up dipping all the dishes in some green chutney they had served so that it would taste better.

Value for money - NO - For such food it is not worth-it at all

And even more shocking fact is, at noon on Fri, we were the only customers seated, though I lunch lasted for 1 hour. Nobody wants to come here, I guess they are doing an awesome job in being the ONE OF THE WORST RESTAURANTS. IF THEY KEEP THIS UP, THEY WILL DEFINITELY GET THE AWARD FOR "RESTAURANTS THAT SUCK"

Good food

Took my team out for lunch today to Tattv. The restaurant was crowded and am glad we booked a table.

Food: Good variety, the kebabs were excellent and so were the desserts.
Service: Attentive, but they can do with a few more servers.
Ambiance: Very nice and soothing. Loved the music being played.
Overall: A great option for lunch.

Had a great time....

We have been regularly trying out the buffet at Tattv. However we decided to go in for the menu for dinner. The menu is very different and selective.
We went for the behari kebab and paneer with olives. Too good is the verdict.
The curries included laal mas and dal makhani and some wonderful bikaneri paratha.
We found the food to be very good. Ambience was good and service friendly.

Very good option for North Indian fare

My office being down the road to Tattv; I had frequented them many times. Lunch with the buffet is a great option. Fresh kebabs served on the table is most of the time completely filling.
Dinner is usually entertaining clients, as they give a good excuse to show off Indian food to expats.
Menu is concise and very well created. I particularly love the bihari kebab and murg dhaniwal.
The chocolate gujia is a stunner.
Tattv is great if you are looking at selective good quality Indian fare.

Great time

We visited Tattv for lunch today. Decided to go for the menu instead of the buffet. The buffet looked very tempting though.

We went in for a Murg Champ, Behari Kebab and Tandoori Broccoli. Loved the kebabs, found them to be top class with no overdose of masalas.

The curries were a murg dhaniwal , dal makhani and absolutely stunning warqi paratha.

Overall a fantastic meal.

Highly recommended.

Disappointing!

Took my entire family to Tattv for dinner on a Friday night as my brother was visiting and he wanted to eat good kebabs. I was visiting this restaurant after a year and really enjoyed my first meal here. It came highly recommended as well and hence I insisted that we go there. What a disappointment - in fact I actually regretted subjecting my family to their cuisine and paying a hefty bill at that! Their chicken kebab was stringy and chewy, the marinade on mushroom starter seemed uncooked. Could not make out any difference between the 2 veg gravy dishes we ordered (apart from the color). The dal makhni was just abt average. May I add that the boondi in the raita they served us was spoilt - which is not acceptable at all. Probably the only saving grace of the evening was their service (staff was very courteous) and their pista kulfi. We were wondering why the dining area was totally empty on a Friday night - guess we have our answer now! Never again!

Never Again

Tattv located on the first floor is a small but cozy hall of a restaurant, sits right opposite the Harley Davidson showroom on Lavelle Road and though parking is a bit tight they offer valet services.

The restaurant serves north Indian food and we landed up here on our way to a late night movie hoping to get some good Indian grub. The waiter arrived promptly and took our order. The drinks arrived and the food was not far behind.

The food itself, however, was rather mediocre and really did not raise any eyebrows. Stay away from the Galouti Kebab as it has no resemblance to what a real Galouti should be and tasted quite vague. Which I guess was the problem with most of the food. The seasoning seems to be quite repetitive amongst the dishes and we were hard pressed to find any real difference between the various kebabs. The Butter Chicken gravy was also pretty okay and honestly, I have had much better.

The problem with Tattv is that its just a mediocre place with some okay food, none of it was something to write home about. The preparations would have been considered great somewhere early in the last decade but these days, with the quality of food on offer, its completely unremarkable. I can definitely say I will not be going back to this place its just not one of those I would like to repeat.

Pros: - good service and staff
- good location and valet parking is available
- Decent interiors small but cozy

Cons: - food is completely unremarkable
- Some dishes are down right poor in taste

Dear Patron,

We thank you for visiting Tattv. We also appreciate your feedback.

However we would like to clarify a few things for everyones understanding, since you have chosen a public forum to present your opinion.

1- We do not have/serve Gilawati Kebab nor have it on the menu.
2- We do not have Butter Chicken or serve it in the restaurant.

We have menu cards that describe the dishes in clarity. What you perceived is not what you ordered ( it is a common phenomenon with Indian restaurants).

Fantastic

Had a round of drinks on happy hour, at Cloud Bar, upstairs and headed for dinner to Tattv. For a Friday, it was relatively quite, compared to a jam packed Cloud Bar.
We ordered some kebabs, since they are known for it and Laal maans with Dal Makhni . The food is absolutely stunning. Great is an understatement. We ordered the chocolate gujia and had one of the best meals ever.
It still surprised me, as to why the place was not full. The service is very efficient. No complaints absolutely. Will definitely return.
A must try for all who love North Indian, specially non-veg.

The Fare was just Fair

After reading so many good reviews, came here on Tuesday at 1 p.m. to try lunch buffet. The restaurant was empty and we were seated immediately. Only starters are served on the table (not the soup).

Tried both tomato soup and murgh shorba (not good). Veg starters included veg cutlet, paneer tikka, cauliflower tikka and baby corn tikka (all average). Non-veg starters included tawa fish fry, mutton balls and chicken kebab (better than veg starters).

Salads with different dips were good.

The main course included Mutton biryani (average), methi murgh (excellent), prawns with capsicum, onion and tomato (prawns were tiny and bland, it could have been spicier), dal makhani (okay), peas curry (good), veg pulav (average), paneer curry (good), steamed basmati (okay), indian breads etc.

The best part of buffet was the dessert. Angoori jamun, gajar ka halwa, cut fruits, cake, shahi tukda, vanilla and chocolate ice creams were good.

The ambiance is good and pleasant, there is a glass partition where diners can see the chefs at work. Service was excellent and attentive. Price Rs.350 + taxes per head. Had very high expectations from this place but on this day the food was not up to the mark.

Nice!!

Me and my team of 6 was here some time back for our team lunch..I like the ambience and seatings of the restaurant, its quiet classy and royal. We opted for there buffet ..which had a decent spread, i would say value for money. Starters were served on the table and must say starters were lip-smacking and as it was unlimited we had 3 rounds of it and were already full, so for main course everyone just had biryani and Dal makhni and finished our meal with hot Gulab Jamuns which were yummy.

Over all was a burrping experience!!!..:)

Jiski ummeed thi, uska Tattv nahi mila...

This restaurant located on Lavelle Road, Bangalore has been the recipient of various awards prominent among which was "Best North Indian stand-alone restaurant in Bangalore" title conferred by the 2011 Times Food Guide awards. Tattv ,the restaurant clarifies, is a philosophic term which connotes truth, reality, or fundamental principle. In pursuit of rapturous reality,we soon landed up there
Ambience- High standards made first impressions. While it is adequate for a honourable evening outside, it stops short of 5 star opulence. The overall chic decor is let down by the the floor's sadly plain tiles. A clear glass screen lets you see the chefs in the kitchen, but one side of this transparent partition was darkly misted over with fumes from the roasting station.

Menu - Trawling through the detailed offerings of this place ,one has to concede that the variety and originality on offer is noteworthy.

What we chose- Starters- Gaituni paneer tikka, Fried Amritsari macchi, and Chicken Chaanpaan. Texturally all 3 starters were excellently rendered. The paneer had a luxurious creamy softness,so often absent in many restaurant's versions. It was supposed to be flavoured with black kalamata olives and saffron -their presence was too stealthy for us too detect. Ditto for the royal cumin and paprika which were stifled by the smooth kebab's spicy edge. The Macchi Amrithsari was prepared with Pasa- a fish with enjoyable docile flesh ,alas the coating for this was of the type used for onion pakodas- not ideally suited to complement piscine flavour.
Warqi Paratha (Rs.145) was recommended by the staff as a fine appetizer- lightly toasted, this paratha gently treaded the line between sweet and savoury. We were neither impressed nor gutted.

The Main course epiphanized in the form of Kashmiri Gucchi Chilgoza Pulao. It was too subtle, like a Kashmiri maiden who is too demure for her own good. Morel mushrooms and the tiny pine-nuts were very shy in the expression of their expected exotic seductions, but at least the the quality of the cooked Basmati rice was good. Overnight cooked Daal makhni, as per the Times Food Guide '11, was reported to be the best in town -a contention which I'd like to coolly contest. Tangy undertones, conferred by tamarind, precluded any direct evaluation of the depth of this dish's delights.
Before the sweets, some sour aspects- Service- It is the weakest part of the ehsaas here. As more patrons arrived, the 2 waiters proved to be inadequate.Although we were asked on a couple of occasions about the feedback regarding the dishes, service on the whole lacked in vigilance and also in polish.
The first Dessert was a tri-laminar desi disc- From the top came a dulcet wave of Raabdi, rich roasted carrot halwa then swirled on the palate. To further qualitate the blend, I was about to take another nuanced slice, when the rest of the dessert was violently attacked and mangled by fellow diners- I searched for the khaas malpua but it had probably become a martyr.
2nd dessert-Two pastry shells, made of chiroti rawa, encased molten chocolate enriched with nuts- these were parked over a reduction (compote) rich and ripe with the flavour of berries and grape. The sweet smooth creaminess of a dollop of vanilla ice-cream added refreshing contrast.
It was an interesting kiss to end a rather disappointing affair.

Tariffs- Most guides wrongly indicate that a meal for two people averages Rs.800- a more realistic estimate is Rs.1800- inclusive of 24% tax. Value for Money- We did not find it here. The ingredient quality was good, service unremarkable, and the food did not wow the tongue, while the prices were excellent in ensuring the restaurant's financial health.
If this restaurant wants to live up to its recent awards, it needs to showcase greater chutzpah and talent. At the current moment though, when we gazed through the prism of Tattv, we experienced only mirages of higher pleasure.

Good value for money buffet

Went for Tattv's lunch buffet. Well it was certainly good value for money at around Rs 400. But honestly was quite disappointed by their kabab selection which is what I was looking forward to. They were nice but not really kababs... fried fish certainly does count as a kabab, corn also doesnt qualify as kababs! Tastewise everything was good but for a kabab place wish they actually served kababs for their lunch buffet. For taste Id give it a 4 but the overall experience was a bit of a let down because of the terrible kabab selection. Also over the phone i was told there would be 10 kababs but when we went there they said only 7 and of that too besides one lamb kabab there were really no other kababs! But that said at Rs 400 certainly great VFM! Would I go there again, probably yes but this time ala carte I guess...

Taste in every morsel !!

A friday evening with a bunch of close friends and good food is what we ordinarily look forward to on a regular weekend !
Tattv was a good decision for the hangout since the dinner fare turned out exceptionally tasty . We ordered one Veg and one Non Veg starter wit a drink each for the 6 of us. For main course paneer kulcha, ulta tawa ka paratha , butter naan , olive and cheese naan, daal makhani , Paneer kofta (khazana e lazzat) and murgh khurchan. The murgh gravy was outstanding and so were the paneer koftas - perfect blend of spices and succulent .
I wil definitely want to go back to Tattv again and recommend this place for those who have a penchant for good Indian Food. Our total stood at 4.5k inclusive taxes.

Excellent food & warm ambience

Its a true culinary delight and one of the best places in Bangalore for North Indian food (being from the north I have tasted a lot of it). Everything from the menu card to the food preparation is crafted very well and the staff is very helpful and hospitile. I would like to be a regular but that would punch a few holes in the wallet.

Interesting lunch buffet

Went out for a buffet at Tattv. The offering is interesting with a strew of kebabs been served before we hit main course. This restaurant boasts of having the biggest kebab menu. The kebabs were worth it and the service was excellent. I liked the design of the place.

Best experience lately...

We have frequented several north Indian restaurants in Bangalore, but the service and food of Tattv have proved better than its contemporaries. The kebabs here are mouth watering.

Before Tattv, Rakabdaar was our fav place to eat mughlai/north Indian but that sadly got closed.
We went for dinner at Tattv on a friday night. The waiter attending us was very thoughful and provided excellent service and suggestions where food was concerned. We ordered ulte tawe ka paratha and warqi paratha along with reshmi kadak kabab , bhutte ka kabab and daal makhni. There is wide spread of kababs here and they go well with parathas/rotis. Other curries can be ordered as well. The daal makhni was awesome and so were kababs.
What we liked most was the amount of thought that was put in serving the guest. My wife could not drink anything cold because of health problem and there was no hot drink on the menu. The waiter got her a custom made drink of honey, lemon and pepper in warm water to help her throat and it was complimentary :) . While our bill was paid our car was already summoned from parking.
We got a bill of close to Rs1700 for a meal of two with a drink and it was totally worth the experience.
I would suggest this place to anyone looking for a genuine North Indian/Muglai experience and relaxed evening.

Decor and awesome service do not good food make

We decided to go to Tattv for a date night. The place has valet parking on Lavelle Road. Awesome! We walk in, the place has a great decor and is half empty on a Sunday night. We place an order for Iranian Kabab (Joojeh i believe) and some stuffed mushroom, the kebab and the stuffed mushroom were palatable but nothing great. For the main course we ordered a dal fry, which felt more like garlic fry, alu dum, which was tasteless at best, and dum biryani, which though hot left us cold taste wise. The service though was really good. The waiters always ensured that our glasses and plates were full.

When I had to powder my nose my impression of the place took a huge nose dive (no pun intended). A restaurant of this caliber has broken faucets, no TP and no soap in the wash room. Yuck!!!! I ran out of the pig sty of a restroom at the earliest possible opportunity.

Thinks I liked: The really dedicated and caring service and the decor.
Hate: Terrible restrooms, okay food.

Nothing great

Most of the reviews below talk about the menu which is impressive. But the good stuff ends there.

The lunch buffet is just average. There is more variety for the meat eater. The vegetarian gets a tasteless paneer and the odd potato, baby corn appetizer.

The main course is served on your table. So the waiters control how much is served. They do not offer a second helping. You have to ask them and wait for a while for them to serve you. Maybe a ploy to ruin your appetite by making you wait until your hands dry. The vegetarian curries with the indian breads were pretty good. The chicken was mixed, either not cooked well or some pieces were too chewy and hard. The biryani was chicken and veg. Both tasted the same and was a little high on the oil.

The desert was decent with ice cream options limited to Vanilla and Chocolate. This was also served on the table and the waiter controls the number of scoops you can have.

Service is very slow even on a weekday lunch. It might be apt for a kitty party crowd, not for a working lunch. There are better options down the road which offer better bang for your buck.

One hell of a place.. too good

Heard about the great kebabs and visited Tattv. Loved everything about this place including the smiling staff. Behari or Bihari kebab is what blew me off. Absolutely melt in the mouth, the kinds I have never had before. We ordered a few more of the kebabs. It comes in zero pretentious packaging with chutney. We were recommended to order dal and ulta tawa paratha with it. The combination was good. Great substance in this place.

Very nice kebabs

Went in for dinner after recommendations on burrp. The menu is interesting, very different. Loved the ambience.
The kebabs are very different and we thoroughly enjoyed them, Service is nice.

First visit was a bit of a disappointment

Went to the place after reading all the burrp reviews and probably that was the reason why I came back feeling a bit disappointed on my first visit to the place. Expectations were running very high. Had heard a lot about the kebab buffet and here is precisely where I felt let down. The kebabs were cold, especially the meats and I am sure they would have tasted better if hot. (holds true for any food ). Did mention to the waiter but probably due to some communication issue, never saw him again. Nonetheless decided to hit the main course, the biryani was decent, though that was not what I had come here for.

All in all- not to take any more credit from the place, the decor, ambiance is good. Was not very crowded on a sunday afternoon, so we did have a peaceful lunch.

Not to give up so easily, wouldnt mind going back again for a second try, if assured of hot starters this time around.

Bravo! What a find

After an ordinary dinner at a nearby Indian restaurant last week, comes a surprisingly wonderful meal at this much smaller restaurant.
On lavelle road, down ITC gardenia is Tattv. A restaurant that specialises in Kebabs. The settings is smart and elegant, the staff is well trained, the approach does not have any grandeur.
The menu is a treat. The food is a fancy. Very well cooked kebabs that can blow anyones mind out.
This restaurant stands out with its excellent food.
The wine list was a bit limited, though they were priced well. Well I spend half of what I spend the previous week at another fancy restaurant.

Great Food, Great Pricing and Great Value.

culinary mastery

After a strew of five star restaurants and fancy club out evening, I decided to relax and indulge in some Indian culinary extravaganza.
I was directed to this Indian restaurant, suppossedly a new destination for kebabs.
The signboard boldly described the place offering Gourmet Kebabs.
The location was close to my office, the welcome to the restaurant was courteous. I was in absolute awe of the place, the munute I saw it. After the usual courtesies, I dived into the menu, ordered an Australian wine and got completely confused by the all kebab menu. I got guided by a pleasant server who recommended a few of the kebabs and lentils and bread.
The food was the most brilliant I have had. The chef, I believe is of good repute and it speaks in the food that was served. The flavours were not pretentious, but boasted of expertise that can only come from expert culinary mastery.
This is one of the most brilliant restaurant I have visited in the past few years, with the exception of Nobu and The River Cafe.
Truly and piece the resistance in the culinary scene.
I am going to do a second visit to reconfirm my review.. Highly recommended as of now.

Great Value buffet

After reading a lot on burrp bout tattv, we decided to check it out. Walking distance from our office in UB city, this was a good bet logistically. The restaurant seating overlooks the entire kitchen, great design. The feel is very upmarket. The seating is very comfortable and the waiters are very courteous.
The buffet at 325 was an absolute steal. Soups, lots of salads and kebabs as the main course, 12 of them. Good choice for my vegetarian friends too. I liked the dessert too.
Overall very different from many buffets we have visited and the quality is 5star.

Loved it, definitely

My collegues insisted that I visit this new place, primarily it was very near the hotel that I stay, secondly that they had to treat me to Indian fare.

My observations:

-Great location
-I did not use the valet
-Excellent setting
-Beautiful interior, a mix of Traditional Indian architecture with modern touch.
-The menu suppossedly is a trendsetter for grills (kebabs).
-Service is very friendly. The chef was sweet enough to recommend some kebabs of his personal choice.
-The food is the best I have had in any Indian restaurant.

Overall this restaurant scores very high.

This place deserves an exceptional place. The kebabs are outstanding. It was my first visit to this suppossedly new restaurant on Lavelle road. I am yet to visit another places that equates to the like of tattv. Very stylish interiors. Very friendly staff. The colours and scheme of design is very tasteful. The entire restaurant overlooks a kitchen. The menu has a wonderful selection of kebabs.
The kebabs are too good. We ordered some breads with the kebabs, as our server suggested. Overall, an excellent place for someone who is fed up with the ever common fare in Indian restaurants.
Five stars to this excellent Tattv.

Bravo! Tattv, hats off to you!

Before I even had a bite to eat I was impressed with Tattv. I found the decor modern with traditional elements, with interesting details to catch my eye. I loved the menu. Beautifully done. It was well designed as well as provided helpful information about the preparation of the items as well as educational background on methods of cooking. Might have been the best menu I've seen in Bangalore. It's a strange thing to appreciate, I know but sometimes it's the small things! Service was wonderful. I even liked how they had different color glasses to distinguish between veg and non veg diners. Lots of things sounded delicious on the menu but we decided to try the lunch buffet so that we could sample a variety of kebabs and dishes. What an incredible value! For under Rs 400 you get a variety of soups, salads, kebabs, and desserts on the buffet PLUS curries, biryani, and breads served at your table. WOW. I enjoyed sampling everything and could not eat another bite when I walked out of the restaurant. Tattv is a class act. More restaurants should step up! They have set a new standard in Indian dining.

Very interesting

After a great time a cloud bar, we walked down to tattv. A very classy offering in the foodie scenario, I must admit. The restaurant boasts of an all kebab menu with some curries for those who cannot let loose.
The kebabs were a major hit with our group. We havent tasted anything better, anywhere else in bangalore.
An Indian restaurant focusing only on kebabs; we all thought that this was a great idea all together. They have not gone rigid as the Kebab Factory, but offers everything on a menu to order.
I was told that they also have an all kebab lunch buffet.

A definite visit.

Very different and a great place to show-off our cuisine to international customers. I loved the feel of the place and the layout of the menu was very different.
The restaurant boasts of the biggest selection of kebabs with a wonderful view of the preparation area.
The kebabs are to die for and it was definitely worth the visit. Now I have a new diner added to my list. This place is highly recommended.

Wonderful kebabs

Decided to visit this newly launched restaurant yesterday. It is on Lavelle road. The valet was efficient and the hostess lead us to a pre-booked table overlooking the expansive show kitchen. The ambience is very royal looking in a very modern way. Th drink menu is wide and the prices not too steep. They seem to share the drink menu with Cloud Bar that is located above this restaurant. The food menu is revolutionary with mostly kebabs, prepared in different styles. We ordered for three different kebabs and some very good flaky roti. All of them were excellent. We ordered chicken biryani and that was not spectacular. The chocolate gujia as dessert was superb. The service was attentive and the chef was kind enough to suggest some of our kebabs. A good option for kebab freaks.

Great lunch buffet ,different from the crowd

After the advent of barbecue nation in Bangalore ,the content and pricing of buffets in similar priced places changed for ever.It did set a benchmark which other tried to dutifully match. For a year or so it was exciting, notable mentions include ,Khansama, cafe masala (other BJN eateries),Ada hind Ki,Sikandar etc.But then the scene became boring ,under the garb of offering variety ,what they actually offered was mediocre dishes .

This was a much needed prelude which would actually help in understanding why Tattv is different and why it packs a punch among all lunch buffets.

First facts about the buffet (weekend lunch buffet)
1) First of all this is a all kabab buffet .So what you have on display is an array of kababs ,salads and deserts.
The Kababs include
a) Two varieties of Chicken Kababs - one was succulent pieces of Tandoori chicken ,The second was some chicken malai tikka, both equally good in quality.
b) Two varieties of mutton Side dishes - One was tava roast/fry mutton ,the second was minced mutton(keema) balls.
b) Two seafood dishes - One was masala shrimps, other tava fish.
The vegetarian section did also contain 6 veg starters ,of them 2 being panner tikkas with different seasonings.
They also did have a good variety of salads including one with cold chicken and another with seafood.
The desert variety includes gajar halwa, jamoon and the usual assorted pastries - Nothing much to rave about here.

For the main course - They do get the order to the table ,they give you a choice of veg/nonveg biriyani ,assorted rotis ,one chicken ,one panner curry and dal makhni.

What sets them apart is the fact that they do not crowd their buffets with badly done or mediocre dishes(read - pathetic pasta ,oily noodles, mundane vegetable curries etc etc) ,which we so often see in other places

The best is ,all this comes at a price of 375+takes.
Surely recommended.

Refreshingly new lunch concept

Visited Tattv with office collegues last wednesday, for lunch.
The approach to the restaurant starts with a fancy elavator. The entrance looks wow. The hostess smiles and greets us to the table that we had already booked. The server introduces us to the kebab buffet that is available for lunch.

The buffet: A very good change to the other ordinary layouts. This one has a good choice of salads, kebabs and dessert and spares one of those heavy tumy filling curries.
Price: Rs.325 and taxes
Quality of buffet: Very chick and well planned
Service: Efficient
Ambience: Wow

We loved it and we are definitely back to try the main menu for dinner.

The best Indian restaurant in town-Indeed

I am in love with Tattv. I have never had better kebabs in my life. I just cant get enough of it........
Tattv is on Lavelle road, just before Mocha. It is on the first floor. The ambience is brilliant, with rich gold work and hand painted floors. The seating is lavish. The tables and cutleries look great. The menu is outstanding. This place is for serious foodies and I insist on that. The choice of items are brilliant. I really am amazed at ho they make such awesome kebabs. We had the best meal of our life. I can go on an on, but I shall post another review after my next visit.

not so great interiors...and all this at 800/- per head..a few more hunderds and we can go to a star hotel...

Tattv - Zara Hattke

My impulsive decision and I thought about checking this place last weekend and there I was, troubling a friend of mine to join me. Nice of my friend to oblige and tag along with me to check the new place. We wanted to try the lounge – Cloud Bar for the initial drink. Unfortunately, when we went there, we realized, it was jam packed and we were asked to move to the restaurant – Tattv where they would serve all that they serve at Cloud Bar in addition to the Tattv Menu.

The dining hall of Tattv is pretty large and accommodates different kind of crowds. Be it a 2 seater or 4 or for a large gang and a private area too! The restaurant was fairly empty when we reached and we were comfortably seated at a corner. The waiter courteous and smiling. The first thing the waiter asked us was if we were Veggies or non-veggies. After the confirmation, he quickly, placed green based glasses on our table. And he explained to us the concept behind it. If its green glasses on the table, the staff understands we are vegetarians and if its blue, it means, the guest would prefer non-veg food.

The alcohol menu was quite exhaustive and the list had a good number of cocktails. Though I was badly tempted to try one of those cocktails, I ended up taking a Shiraz Red Wine and my friend opted for Hawaiian Fruit Kick. With this, we chose one by two Tandoori Tamatar Shorba and Akhrot aur Kamal ki sheek to munch. Another difference you will notice in this menu card here is, it is not conventional like the other places. Its not in the order of soups, starters and the main course. We were told this is coz’ there’s no rule as to what needs to be eaten first and they leave it to the guest to decide what they want to eat and which order. The waiter indeed was knowledgeable in explaining us all our questions. He was spot on and recommended us the right things.

Firstly, they served us Amuse Bouche, which was a small triangular roti type with some subzi on the top of it. This was supposed to tantalize our tongues and increase our appetite
The wine was the usual. The Hawaiian Fruit Kick was superb! Though I was my friend’s drink, I had multiple sips from that. The starter had lots of nuts which I liked. However, I found it difficult to get the lotus stem flavor in that. The accompaniment mint chutney was good unlike the watery ones in a few places I’ve seen and the best was the Pineapple Chutney! It was just brilliant.

For the main course, we had the Rotis and Subz Ki Jugalbandi. Both were the usual and good. May be little less oil in the subz is what I would have preferred. Nevertheless, it was good. Just when we were deciding to wind of, the waiter suggested we must try the Biryani there. We were a little hesitant but he sold it to us so well, we fell for it and decided to dig into it. And believe me, it was good. The long rice grains, the flavor, the aroma, the right amount of masala and the perfectly cooked vegetables! All in all, it was good and we totally enjoyed it. Though initial plans was to wind off the meal with some dessert, we had to drop that plan. The waiter did recommend Chocolate something to us. I believe its their signature dessert and its an innovation. Unfortunately, we were stuffed till the forehead and left it for the next time.

Overall, a very good and a different experience that I would always remember! A meal for two would approximately be 2k. Definitely recommended if you are craving for some good food with an experience to remember.
