lack of good management

We had booked a table in advance. But they made us wait fofor 1 hour when we reached the place.we also saw many apeople fighting for the same issue and we're saying they would never come again. We would come next week again. If it's improved we will continue or else we would never visit the place. Treating customers in such a way is a lack of good team

Great buffet at great price!

This place is amazing. Live music. Smallest of details that make it stunning.
Went for the dinner buffet here with a couple of friends. It was worth the price! Everything was yummy! I don't really know the singer... I guess his name was Abe... Superb singing. Really had fun. The waiters are really well trained. I wish they didn't serve me so much though. Had to stuff myself so I didn't waste. They come and ask us about the starters or the meal and actually relay any negatives back to the chef! And the chef! He came back... Offered my friend a fresh serving... Apologized for nothing! It was really nice to see restaurants of this scale really care for each customer.

A Pirate Themed Restaurant

Went to Black Pearl on a date with my fiance. Well if your someone who has watched The Pirates of Caribbean series of movies, the theme of restaurant is very apt. I asked for a candle lit dinner and I got the same on the Captains Deck which is at their roof top. They made id very romantic for us. Its based on a live grill concept, where-in you cook your food mainly starters by yourself. Its a buffet concept restaurant. There was a n elaborate spread of starters from chicken to seafood, i totally enjoyed the prawns and even the vegetarian dishes was awesome. We had so many starters that we did not have place for the main course. But being a hardcore foodie i decided to have the dum biriyani which was totally worth-ed. The desserts to were out of the world. They have live music where and the mood set is very romantic. We had the Sangrias which were up to the mark to. All in all if you want to take someone special this the place to head to .

Nice Place

If are a Jack Sparrow fan, you are bound to like this place the moment you enter here. The Pearl is a pirate restaurant serving real nice ON THE GRILL Barbecue starters. The ambiance and decor of this place is amazing, a pirate ship with all the staff dressed up as pirates. If you visit this place in the evenings, there will be live music to make your evening even more memorable.

They have large Veg Starters on the Grill and I would recommended the following:

1. Kebabs (veg/Non Veg both)
2. Achari Aloo
3. Taandori Tangdi
4. Pineapple in Cilantro sauce
5. Jamaican Fry Potato

The cocktails here are good especially the Margaritas and Martinis. The main course is decent, but like all other buffet places the desserts section has loads of varieties and is really amazing.

The staff is friendly and welcoming.

Mind-blowing Food!

We were here for dinner on Friday, and I was a little surprised to find the place totally empty. After reading all the reviews, had a slightly different impression of the place. Anyway we settled down and the waiter informed us that they don't have an a la carte menu. There was live music, and I must mention that the singer was amazing. We ordered drinks, my sangria was really nice. They have a huge variety of starters, each one of them equally mouth watering. We ended up stuffing ourselves with the starters, but then we couldn't miss the main course which looked equally delicious. Dessert spread, though not so elaborate, is very good too. They had individual portions of gajar ka halwa and rabdi which was quite thoughtful. Will definitely visit this place again. The only let down were the loos, which were extremely stinky and dirty.

Divine Dum Biriyani!!

So decided to give this place a try after passing it by a few times. The place was well themed, the staff were doing a great job of balancing the theme and being professional at the same time. I loved the egg curry ghost and chicken dum biryani. The egg curry was AWESOME!! About chicken dum biryani beware this is quite strong and has a unique taste. When I come next time, it would be my first choice in a spread , the pirate cookies and rum ball offered went so well with the food. All and all this was a nice change of pace, a fun environment, the value was good. I'll be back in the future.

No Pearls of Wisdom in visiting here !!!

This is a much delayed review. I seem to have forgotten about this place and I was just reminded by Zomato that I had rated it but am yet to write a review. So here it goes.

After a lot of hearsay about this place, we decided to visit this place for lunch when one of our cousins was in town for a visit. Locating this place isn't much of a problem. However finding a parking spot is.

As we enter the place, the maritime / pirate theme is quite evident all over, right from the ambience and decor to the pirate / deckhand attire of the stewards. While the main area is modelled on the deck of a ship, the kitchen hasn't been spared either, with it having "Galley" displayed at its entrance.

Lunch hour, fortunately or unfortunately, is only buffet and there were 2 things that stood out like a sore thumb -
1 ) Uncanny similarities to BBQ Nation - not just concept-wise but also the items-wise (maybe just that day's items) ;
2) Total disconnect between the theme and the food.

I for one could not fathom the logic behind a maritime/pirate concept when they have no intention of matching the food to the theme. What are dishes from landlocked Afghanistan or Mongolia doing here ?? I was actually expecting a coastal flavour a la Carribean. There was no novelty factor with respect to the food and the novelty factor of the theme wears off pretty soon.

I don't remember any standout dish as such and also do not see any great VFM. Although I must add that the dishes were not inherently bad, but they weren't worth the hype.

Verdict :- Disappointing. Do not expect too much.

I was new to the city and was living with three of my colleagues in an apartment building, they offered to take me out since I was new and so they took me to The Black Pearl, I really enjoyed it there. The theme captivated me and the food grasped me completely, the mutton dum sheik really impressed me as it was cooked to the right degree, the service was quick and the waiters were friendly.

Bomblastic, Piratey Place :)

It was our very first marriage anniversary and I wanted to surprise my wife by taking her to Black Pearl.
Well the decor is something different, perfect Caribbean feel.

The buffet has some really good spread as they have a food festival going on with some Caribbean crispy potato, chicken bulgobi and basa steak with pineapple sauce as starters, food is fresh and appealing too.

My wife loved their Greek lamb chops with olives and potatoes.
Perfect romantic dinner with some live music- Happy wife happy life :) And yeah happy stomach!!

Remarkable, Enjoyable Evening

Fantastic decor, ambiance, best service and great food- Couldn't have asked for more.
Our team of 7 decided to visit this place and we reached here on time by 9 in the night.
On buffet they have a large spread of starters both veg and non-veg. I found meat dishes to be rightly tender, with less spice but overall it made justice since it was grilled.

I Liked it.

It was a great day out for the entire family as we all wanted to dine out, after doing a bit of shopping we went for dinner and so we walked into the Black Pearl, the buffet spread there was huge, I couldn't drink much because I was with family but their cocktails were amazing. I had a tequila sunrise, and then I had the chicken dum biryani while my wife and kids ate the chilli garlic noodles. They all enjoyed it very much and my wife continuously appreciated the cooking very much.

Perfect Place

I had promised my daughter that we would dine out on Saturday. We went to the hotel and my family really enjoyed the ambience and the atmosphere over there. My son, 4 year old son started jumping on the dockyard and was really enjoying the setup. We ordered Mustard Fish curry, Paneer nawabi and chicken dum biryani. I was really happy with their service and my wife was really astonished with the taste of chicken dum biryani, she ended up asking the waiter to know the recipe! Overall my daughter enjoyed her treat and the hotel is great.

Just Amazing.

It was another irritating, droning day in the office and so for lunch me and my colleagues decided to head over to the black pearl. As usual the place was alive and buzzing, we went straight to the food as drinks were out of question in the afternoon. The lemon ginger prawns were great as usual and the tandoori tangdi was epic, it was flavor filled with the right balance of everything! And the pirates theme was amazing.

Go Once for the Ambience and the Background Music

The Black Pearl buffet was a sheer delight. The restaurant has quite a pirate feel, with interesting paraphernalia spread throughout. The inside resembles a ship while the terrace is akin to a ship deck. Coming to the food, the starter spread was good. Though a non-veggie, I found their veggie starters intriguing as well. So much we gorged on the starters that we took a break before we started the main course. The desserts were equally good!

A Pirated Experience

This place is amazing for all the Pirate fans ! Its designed in a pirate theme ! In every corner you would find pirates and other pirate related stuff . It has 2 floors, one which is open air ! Basically the interiors are AMAZING
Now to the food. They have a buffet lunch on weekdays which costs about 475 rupees.
The food consists of North Indian and continental
The starters are very few.
The main course has many Indian dishes which taste good , although the Biryani was Bland.
And the desserts weren't that great.
They also have a bar attached where they serve all drinks and also have Happy Hours on weekdays.
Service is good
Waiters are friendly and food is delivered pretty quickly.
Overall I would say it is worth the experience for the ambiance.
Food would be rated mediocre.

Best Independence Day Celebrations

Yesterday we had a great time with family at The Black Pearl. Lovely ambiance. Though it was crowded the service has to be appreciated.
They had unique menu with all independence name for dishes. They got refreshing the Freedom struggle movements.
Starters were tasty. Food in fact was good. Biryani was very tasty.
The guy signing was too good.

Fun And Food

This is the restaurant which has got all fun. Themed by Pirates of Caribbean movie, this is one place where we enjoyed the ambiance (too much with caps, photos), live singer, food and service of staff.
The staff is courteous and polite. Food is value for money. They have many starters, can't remember which fills our tummy and we just watch the main course. Desserts again make you feel hungry with more than 12.
We just loved it. Must visit

Lovely Restaurant

The place is a must visit at Koramangala. The pirate theme restaurant spread over two floors. 3rd Floor with cave and forest theme and fourth floor pirate ship "the Black Pearl'.
Buffet and continental and carribean food is served here.12 unlimited starters with veg and non veg stretch , staff loves to serve happily till we are done.
Buffet counter has a large spread of dishes.
Desserts for sweet tooth people like me are amazing.
The place is for both ambiance and foodies.

Horrible Food And Experience

Very Bad food. Good ambiance, good setup , but the food quality is very bad . I am disappointed and had to pay a bill of Rs 7000 for just 5 people . I would not have complained if I could have got value for money. Will not recommend if your looking for good food. Otherwise the interior and look, feel of place is good. Staff was very arrogant, especially a stupid lady who was behind us like we cannot share food from each others place an all. We ordered food at 7.30 and got it at 9. Are you guys mad and lobster was for Rs 1900 bucks. Are you guys crazy and the quantity was just 100 grams!! hahaaaa (joke) Horrible experience.

This place looks fancy and the pricing is decent but the management is not handling their customers correctly. They purposefully delay things. They have an expansive menu out there but they don't serve whats mentioned in the menu. Taste and quality is average.

Best Theme Restaurant

Couple of weeks back, I visited this place along with 15 of my friends for the Pepsi Atom event and was really surprised by its interiors and the theme. The interior of Black Pearl is entirely based on Pirates. The waiters dressed up as Pirates doing justice to the theme. The food is as good as the place. The Chicken kebabs are do die for, it was simply amazing. And being a non-vegetarian I loved the 'Smoked Aloo fry'.

Horrible Experience.

For our wedding anniversary, we were looking for a nice place to dine with good food and ambiance, so when we searched the net we ended up zeroing in on Black Pearl. We reached the place, which was in the crowded Koramangala area and not even a proper entrance to drive in the car. But still we thought the food and the experience might make up for it. It was total disappointment. The service was very bad and uncourteous, we kept asking for the coke atleast 5-6 times and still she did not get it. We had almost finished our food by then. There was nothing exciting about the food as well, it was just a bad version of Barbeque Nation, but nothing close to it, believe me...Not much variety in the grilled starters and the main course also was bad. There was loud live music playing, so we asked for a change of table, though it was unoccupied but still they did not oblige. We wanted to just pay the bill and run off. Then comes the biggest nightmare...The valet parking was so unorganised and indisciplined, that they bumped our new expensive sedan into another car. So we called for the manager and he was again just another marketing kind of guy with all false smiles and false promises. He promised that whatever amount would cost in rectifying the dent, he would reimburse it and gave his card, etc. But the very next day when we called he took the call the first time and started making some lame excuses and then he never took any more calls. Please stay away from this place. REALLY SUCKS.

Pirates Of The Caribbean!

What Kind of caught my attention was the fB Black Pearl -Pirates of the Caribbean! Superb:) Kind of like the gloablization of flavored foods from across the globe and been to some of the best brands known globally. Bangalore is full of restaurants serving all kinds of cuisines. Indian, Continental and Chinese Cuisine...!!! Worth a try. Stay put on looking out for great experiences.

Love the pirates

This place has a very unique ambience, with a theme inspired by 'the pirates of the Caribbean' movie. The lighting and the music is just apt for a romantic setting or even a family dinner. Good food(can be better), quick service with a friendly and hospitable staff.

Be there for a great overall experience!

Definitely Unique! That's how I would put my dining experience at Blackpearl....Well my family is neither the 'real foodies' nor staunch 'reviewers' but we enjoy dining out and looking out for great experiences. And yes we have flavored foods from across the globe and been to some of the best brands known globally. Bangalore is full of restaurants serving all kinds of cuisines...you name it and you have it. And Koramangala is choc-a-block with such restaurants. Saw the FB page of Black Pearl and it surely looked very thematic...and my kids just love the Pirates of the Caribbean! So we landed up for a relaxed weekend night and quickly realised we made a great choice!

They were operating only the terrace floor - what they call the Pirate's Ship - it indeed is built like a ship...so you are awed as you enter the grand ancient style heavy doors. We did end up waiting about 20 min for our table despite our booking but nevertheless, was worth the wait. We were led in by this 'lady pirate' (read hostess, dressed in very apt pirate costume!) to our table in the 'side deck'. We requested for the 'Captain's deck' but the rains played spoilsport as this area is open to sky....will come back next time to dine here.

It took us a few minutes of 'family debate' to decide whether to go for the exquisite buffet spread or try our normal ala-carte. We chose the buffet as we were deeply appetized and were all in a mood to hog! Well they serve a 5 course meal with 2 soups, 6 salads, 10 starters, 10 maincourse & 6 desserts! Definitely sounded sumptuous! We opted for the barbeque on the table option for the starters and the grill was promptly set up by the waiter. Nice warmth on the table with the cool rain pouring down just outside the deck! A neatly designed wooden 'dip and marination' stand accompanied the grill and they tasted yummy! I however felt the absence of a spicy option for us hardcore Indians... The starters followed one after the other though they somehow took slightly more time for the veg starters! We tried both veg & non veg and loved the mushrooms, continental style chicken and the prawns! The crispy fried fish was a bit oily - like most fried dishes are expected to be - but was quite succulent and had a good continental flavor.

Only the starters are served on your table and you have to walk up to the buffet setup for the other courses. The salads were just ok though I felt they must provide dressings separately. An egg salad, I observed, was definitely missed...else they tasted good though. The main course was a good spread of chicken, mutton, fish gravies for the non-veggies and dal, paneer, vegetables for the veggies. The goan fish curry was excellently cooked and the paneer lababdar was perfectly spiced. I am not much of a mutton fan though! Also available was Veg & chicken biriyani. Kids opted for the noodles and mixed vegetables in shanghai sauce.....and they seemed to love it.

We all freaked out on the desserts.....The pastry was yummy, gulab jamun served hot on an induction plate, the fruit custard looked real colourful and well presented, though I thought the monochrome souffle lacked the garnishing & presentation that it deserved.... but I was too lost with the jalebi and rabdi which definitely was my pick for the night.

While we munched away to glory, there was Brian belting out some popular western contemporary numbers in his calypso style. The crowd went into raptures when he 'broke the ice' with 'chikni chameli' and even 'disco dancer' - all in his caribbean accent! Sounded a bit funny but who cares....that was loads of fun...and thats what you look for eh? Meanwhile me and my daughter used to run up to the captain's deck to catch up with latest updates of RCB on the big screen as the rains had stopped.....was good all round fun.

In summary, the blackpearl is a great option to dine out with family and celebrate a grand relaxed weekend. I felt some starters may not be liked by all but that is what it is about food...one man's meat could be another man's hate...!! The service was a bit slow though like we waited for 10 min to get a fresh water bottle - however they serve complimentary mineral water unlimited on the table - which is great! We loved the detailing of the concept all the way deep into the ambience, uniforms and even the naming of some dishes on the alacarte menu....My word of advice....dont expect perfection here...but walkin to enjoy a great overall experience...something you will not find elsewhere!

Pathetic experience

Went there for dinner. Ambiance looked good. We were given the menu card with Indian, Continental and Chinese Cuisine and 20mins later the waiter comes to take the order. When I placed the order he mentions that only Indian cuisine is available. So we decided to go for the buffet. I placed the order for juice which took not less than half an hour again. We had to keep reminding the waiter about the juice. After a very long wait the waiter came with the starters from the buffet menu and placed one fish piece each on our plates and disappeared. Another 10mins wait and finally we had to call to manager to complain about the same, after which we got some dishes. The buffet was priced at 699+ taxes per head and it was not worth Rs 200 also. The same kind of problems were faced by people sitting on the other tables as well. It was supposed to be my birthday treat and they ruined it for us. One of the worst experiences I have ever faced.

I would not recommend this place to anyone EVER

Roller coaster ride

As we entered the place, we were offered to check out their restaurant to opt for buffet /ala carte . After a lot of arguments we decided to take up ala carte and we chose the rocky ambiance of it !! Yes this place is wide spread with different ambiances for different options I believe. The stewards were a little nervous and could'nt explain the dishes well.Nevertheless the manager walked up to us and volunteered to offer chef special dishes which were not so great like he expressed. But we ordered for veg platter and non veg platter for starters . They came in sizzling fashion and were yumm !! The drinks we ordered were diluted ,of which felt the Melon was best . Though they mentioned a long list of desserts in their menu, they had the basic available with them (Gulab jamun and vanilla ice-cream).

All in all , i feel they have the potential to do well, but still need to give their ppl training to get to business :)
