I love both their cuddle cups and warming cups (very unique), but I have always found some weird textured deposit at the bottom of the warming cup - I'm guessing it's something to do with the candle heating - but I find it annoying. But anyway, I prefer the cuddle cup since the quantity is enough for me and I love those cuddly little things!
Not bad. Not great.
We headed to TCR for dessert after dinner at a restaurant nearby. It was almost closing time but the staff were very courteous and invited us in. The ambience is good. It had a warm welcoming feel to it at night. The menu is very extensive. A lot of options to choose from - pastries, shakes, beverages, sundaes, fondues, pancakes, paninis and it goes on and on. Of course we were there for dessert so we settled for some classic hot chocolate in a cuddle cup, a slice of the chocolate excess cake, a slice of swiss chocolate cake and a cup of chocolate mousse. The cuddle cup looks very cute but it's a bit awkward to drink from. The hot chocolate itself was just ok as was the swiss cake and chocolate mousse. The only item that was really great was the chocolate excess cake. Everyone dug into that! The prices are high in my opinion. There was no wow factor (atleast in the dishes we ordered) to justify that. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to visit again.
After a great dinner at another restaurant, we decided to stop by TCR, Koramangala at 10:25pm. We placed our order at around 10:30, the staff seemed more interested in the IPL match on the telly and in a hurry to shut the shop. They got our order (which was not that great) AND the bill (high priced) simultaneously at around 10:40 pm. And within the next 10 mins, they shut out the lights and the TV. This was while we were still trying to finish our food.
If they were in a hurry to close the shop, they should has informed us about the same when we entered. Very Rude.

A place holds Promise yet Disappoints at the end
The title The Chocolate Room created a urge to visit this place and experience it first hand. So with a bunch of friends landed to this place for my Birthday feast. The place has 2 car parking space & no more. Basement parking is not for TCR. View of the place is nice. Idea is nice, but then it stops here. The treats were well photographed in the menu card, reality was different. Hot Chocolates, wedges and fries were ordered after much Not available tags. The drinks were fine - needed more flavour syrup or it is just for aroma? The fries and Wedges priced at 80 odd, are a total JOKE. 8 Wedges in a basket, around 18~22 thin fries in another and both sad to taste.
On mentioning of the quantity the only reaction I got was a stare and an Ok. Thats it. It was 10/- per Potato Wedge!!!!
Not a place I would return to. Nor have suggested anyone.
Horrible customer service
I have tried the chocolate room in sydney and was a regular customer there for 5-6 years.when i returned to india for a holiday thought i would surprise my friend with an online purchase from the shop's website for her birthday.Due to some technical faults, there was an error and purchase was unsucessful. When you write to the customer care they are so full of attitude, arrogance and insensitivity. What is so much proudness for. You dont own the goddamn place, you just work there. They throw an apology at you like you are a beggar. What sort of service are these guys offering. Customer service people are supposed to be down to earth and helpful not like the one i got to speak to. Lots of websites and online shops are good to deal with and easy. Not like the chocolate room.
HORRIBLE PATHETIC SERVICE. I would never go to the shop here in India after such an experience in their online shop
Good one time try but overpriced
Though the name itself is enticing - who wouldn't love trying out a chocolate themed joint ? But having to shell out 800 bucks for 2 cups of hot chocolate with 2 crepes which were average at best - in an ambience which is at par with a barista - I wouldn't call it value for money at all!
Totally not worth it
I remember reading wonderful reviews this place was getting and I was dying to try it out even though I am not a great fan of chocolate (save dark chocolate). So off we went and tried Chocolate Avalanche (Rs 179), Banana Split Sundae (Rs 139) and Lebanese Wrap (Rs 159). Everything looked yummy when we read the description but nothing tasted that good. We felt that the description did not match what we got. Feel cheated that after we paid such a price.
Home for chocolate lovers
I didnt try a lot of things on their menu, but judging by the white hot chocolate, i can say this place is really good. The HC had just the perfect amount of froth and sugar, the chocolate was not overwhelming and the milk was the right heat. I think I will go here often.
so not worth it
For such a delicious sounding restaurant , it certainly does not love up to the hype which surrounds it. The decor and staff are average. The sofas are certainly comfortable to sit on.Coming to the menu part - The menu seems very extensive covering pancakes, ice-creams n even alcoholic shots. My friend and I wanted to order hot chocolate since we were not hungry. They didnt have most of the hot chocolate options including the classic which is the easiest to make. I had the caramel hot chocolate in a cuddle cup.The name sounds cute but it is really difficult to have to hold a cup without a handle especially when its very hot. My friend ordered the white hot chocolate which tasted like heated liquid ice-cream .Its so not worth it. Might as well go 2 a normal ccd or mocha for a nicer experience,
The worst Value for Money in Bangalore
Chocolate room is arguably one of the worst value for money experiences in Bangalore .. the portions are pygmy sized , the prices are outrageous for the food on offer and worst of all the taste of the food offered has to be the most pedestrian that you can have in a foodie place like Bangalore.
Incredibly this is supposed to be part of an Australian chain ... having lived in Australia for a while I can assure you that the Aussie love their food and chocolate and would have nothing to do with tasteless overpriced fare put out at the Chocolate Room
Good food, great service, love it!!!
Had our college reunion here. Right place for guys and gals crowd on a evening, centrally located and best of all enuf parking!! We loved the options available starting from chillers to the short eats and the desserts... service was fantastic..
The group liked it, and as the organizer I was happy. Thanks to the chocolate room team.
Great place for Chocolate lovers
We were in Forum last week and we saw this new place 'The Chocolate Room'. The name was tempting and we thought why not give it a try. The food and desserts were amazing and the ambience was great. We were impressed with the coffee cups and mugs in which the coffee and desserts were served. To our delight, we found that we could buy them. We had a party to attend and we decided to buy these as a gift. We bought a few boxes of chocolates as well. My friend loved the gift
Overall a great place for great coffee, desserts and surprisingly not a bad gift shop either :)
Ok. When I took my wife to the chocolate room, did not expect us to eat anything other than a mousse for her and coffee for me. Must say we were pleasantly surprised with the food options and decided to try lunch. It was a bit early so hung there with a piece of pastry & couple of chocolate based drinks called 'chillers' until we hit lunch time. The food and drinks were very good, so were the brownies we took home, but was most pleased with the 'brownie' points I earned from my wife. :)
We went there twice again - once we did an almost repeat order because we liked what we ate the 1st time, and the next time we decided to try new items. We came back equally happy all three times. Besides the food, there is something leisurely about the ambiance of the place with cool music, like the quiet simple cafes we see in Europe (and oh... the loo is neat too).
I think I can say we will be going again, have got requests at home already. :)
My New Fav Desert Place
Me and a couple of my friends were on Hosur road and walked in to this new place with a name that was appealing to me. I mean come on -- what is not to like in the name -- "The Chocolate Room. As I stepped in I must admit it was a welcome change from the noisy Hosur Road.
We ordered the "Death by Pancake" and it was perfect; had the right balance of chocolate with mild pancakes with strawberries on the side. Our garlic bread was good as well. But what makes me go back to the place over and over again is their "Belgian Chili Chocolate" it was divine. I can taste it whenever I think of it.
Service and ambience were breezy.
Would I go back to this place - yes definitely!!!
My next order would be chocolate pizza (am too curious to taste it :) )
