Not Worth It

The Place is beautiful.
Romantic ambiance.
Classy service.
Posh experience.
Great Quality of food But the taste, a cheap Chinese takeaway tastes better than this. The taste is the main factor that gives you the satisfaction wen you look at the cheque in the end, unfortunately that is the only drawback in this place.

Good Food, Good Ambience, Slightly Expensive

Two starters without any drinks will cost you around Rs. 1000 (with taxes etc.)...So you might not want to go there if on a small budget and super hungry! But whatever is served is good :-)

Very impressed

We turned up a little before mid day on a Friday looking for a bite to eat. I guess we surprised the staff as they were still not ready for service. Yet, we were made comfortable and what followed next was a very pleasant experience. We had the soup, a starter of fried prawns and for the mains we had the salmon, mixed meat casserole and a pasta for the child. We found all the courses exceptionally tasty. Special mention goes out to the salmon that was cooked to perfection and also the very yummy dip that accompanied the bread basket. Also pleasantly surprised to get a complimentary bottle of prawn pickle at the end of the meal. Would surely go back again.

Did not get Bowled over

Came here on Wednesday at around 8 p.m. Knew this was a part of Oyster Bay group (had buffet there and quite liked it), so had high expectations from this place.

Ordered 2 items. After ordering, a complementary starter was brought. It was nothing but thin stripes of paratha served with cold peas dip and some white sauce (not good). The kane rava fry (4 lady fish) was the starter accompanied with cold veg salad. It was fresh but was bland and tasteless (the rava coating on the fish was very thick, it was like a crab shell, had to literally crack it open). The second item was from the grilled/flamed main course section. Had chicken breast in Chermoulla marination (coriander, cumin, chillies and garlic) served with vegges and mashed potato. It was just okay (maybe Keralites will like it).

Decor was nice. The restaurant has a nice drinks collection (had an open kitchen), service was good. The presentation of food was good but the taste was not to my liking (did not try the curries and desserts, so cannot comment on them). My bill Rs.945 + tax = Rs.1228. On this day, it was a let down...........

Sea Food Delight

Must say, this place has awesome sea food delicacies. Had been to this place couple of day back for the Chef's Table. I just looooooooved the food. The Prawns and the Crabs with all the other add-ons were blending very well. The welcome drink was disappointing. If you love sea food then this is the right place. Great Ambience and Service ..

Not worth...

We visited it few days back.

We ordered a grilled basa fish and another vegetarian dish.

Both items were below par and quantity/quality are not worth the very high price they charged.

The service was also not very prompt and not impressed.

I'm not going back.

guys keep it up

Accidently visited the restaurent on oct 2nd . The place was full and lot of people waiting outside.I generally dont wait but when I saw the crowd i had the eagerness to try the place out. The Decor was poch and the seatig were very comfortable. They had nice collection of imported wine but only served indian wine by Glass. They came and showed us different types of seafood they had. We ordered a Chilean sea bass grilled and had red snapper as curry with Neer Dosa. I have to comment this is best food i have tasted in banglore. Guys keep up the good job. The food took slightly more time to be served which I could see becoz of the big crowd. i would definitely recommed this place

Good Food, pathetic service & confused management

Went with my wife for lunch and had a pathetic experience. While food is good, it takes crazy time for them to prepare the dishes especially to the extend of making the guests bored. We finished our entire food and Neer Dosa which we had ordered never came (had to cancel it) We had to ask for finger bowl thrice and it took them 20 minutes to provide the same.
Waiters/Captains lack suggestive attitude (have seen in many good restaurants that Captains give hints in case you over order) So be cautious of this fact.
Total Chaos in the restaurant:
Guest standing in queue but no one to address them even when there were Vacant seats.
Orders being mismanaged where your order goes to a different table while some other order is brought to your table.
Especially liked the fact that your final bill does not have all the items that you have consumed - the bill which we got did not comprise of couple of items.
With the food and the service we got found the restaurant slightly overpriced.

Dear Sir

Thank you for visiting Grill & Curry Bowl . I apologize to you and your family for the bad experience you had in our outlet. I enquired about the matter and found we had service issue on that day . The restaurant was over crowed and one of our Grill Mal-functioned on that day so some of orders got delayed. Oct 2nd being national holiday, we could not get hold of the manufacturer to repair the equipment on the same day. As all our equipments are on warranty and only the manufacturer is allowed to rectify any issue. This led

Awesome Service, average food

My husband and I wanted to try out this new place. The decor is quite posh and modern. They only serve wine or wine based cocktails, and only Indian wines are sold by the glass, thus limiting an already limited choice. However, their Sangria is brilliant, although the quantity kept diminishing as they kept serving more of it. Coming to the food, they have this "fresh seafood" system which they will display and you can choose to grill it or put it in a curry. One waiter's task was to bring the "fresh" fish over and show it to you, before you even look at the menu. They serve a bread basket which is very different and quite good. There were four varieties of bread with butter, a peas dip and olive oil set out on the bread platter. I would have preferred if the peas paste had less garlic, looked less congealed and a balsamic vinegar had been provided with the olive oil. For starters, my husband chose a Jerk Chicken and I went for an anti pasti platter. The Jerk chicken was okay, and the anitpasti platter was a big/huge disappointment. Except the pesto none of the items on the items on the antipasti platter was tasty in the least. Hummus on the antipasti platter and the tartare sauce were in-congruent and did not sit well. For the mains we had to choose between curries and grill. Both of us chose curry, the prawn moilee was tolerable and contained a good number of prawns, the Andra Style chilli chicken was fantastic and although on the spicy side filled with flavour. The Curry comes with choice of bread including neer dosa, idiappams and rotis. They also provide rice. The complimentary dal was very good.
The thing that sets this restaurant apart is the quality of service, the wait staff were courteous, extremely attentive and very efficient. One waitress in particular really had spectacular eye for detail and made our meal time joyful. Overall experience I don't think the food was value for money, but I would go back for the sangria.

Dear Ma'am,

Thank you for visiting The Grill & Curry Bowl. I am indeed happy to know that you would visit our restaurant once again and also loved the Sangria served. My sincere apologies for the few complaints you have about our food. Please do visit our restaurant again and while placing the order do mention how you would like it. For eg:- you can ask the waiter attending your table to make a note that you would like less garlic in the peas paste for your bread basket. Our aim is to give our customers' complete satisfaction.

Delectable Food

Visited this place on the repute Oyster bay, similar food experience with wide variety of fresh sea food to sin. Great collection of wine from around the world, though on the expensive side..Chef and bearers were extremely professional and friendly in behavior, same courteousness from Oyster bay reflect in Curry bowl.
Fried Calamari is the test to any resto freshness of the sea food, and curry bowl jus swooped it off on the freshness and preparation.
The only 2 negatives in my perspective are-
1. Interiors do not match the cuisine and experience inside.
2. (Personal) They did not honor my american express select discount, stating it was not valid, while american features it on their website along side Oyster bay.

Must visit if you are Sea food fan, the rotis are commendable too along with the dal fry
