Good Burgers and Pancakes.
This place isn't a hole in the wall anymore though. They've now moved on. Not surprised, because they are quite good!
This time I had the beef burger and shared pancakes along with lemon+ginger juice.
Now I must say, that juice was awful. The burgers were juicy and nice. The buns weren't old either which makes it all the more awesome. The pancakes were served with this peanut thing which was super tasty as well.
After them shifting from the old place, they did hike the prices, but then again it isn't the kind of price-rise one would complain about which is good (:
Hole in the Reputation!
We have heard so much about this place and had lot of expectations. They seemed to be true when we had to wait for 15 minutes at 10:00 in the morning on a Thursday!!
We ordered two Omelettes and a Strawberry smoothie. The omelette was not cooked well.... Strawberry smoothie was sour!! We wished Bocha Grande was open on a weekday.
Maybe people here can suggest what are the dishes people order to make people wait for 15 minutes on a weekday morning!
Just a Hole
I visited this restaurant after seeing reviews on burrp!..I had gone here with my family and had high expectations about this place. But was too disappointed with the food. What I hated was the Burger and the Sandwich were extra oily. I think they fry the bread in oil which made it ooze with oil. And the meat was kheema, hand patted as the filling. But the quantity of food served here is fine and service is too slow and the waitress didn't know English.
I don't know if we learnt from Them or They from us:
Build up a reputation and milk it for all its worth. That's the "vision statement".
It is The place for the psueds in Bangalore. The stuff they serve is awful.
Better take the early flight to Amsterdam, you get better breakfast on the flight, if not you can always get some genuine European breakfast.
Always read the most recent reviews, and look at the most recent ratings.
Unfortunately, its tough to separate the fake reviews and the genuinely misguided ones.
You've been warned!
Too Slow Service
The perfect food for a brunch but the only drawback is that the brunch time becomes lunch time by the time we get a table and it is way past lunch time by the time we finish our food. The food is undoubtedly delicious and there are all possible breakfast dishes you can make using eggs. We loved every bite and it was worth every penny we paid. The staff is a little confused and there is no order while allocating tables to the people waiting though they maintain the order on paper. People randomly sit even though they came really late compared to the one's waiting. So, if you want to try this place, you better go on a weekday or go quite early on a weekend. Might help a little to enjoy the food rather than starving till you get a place to sit.
A Welcome change!
Have been tiered of the usual short eats and found this place in Koramangala to be a true surprise.
My first visit was at their old location near Maharaja hotel, I found it a nice addition... I liked the variety in food and probably the only home style continental breakfasts available in Bangalore... I loved their pancakes and sandwiches....However their business hours were quite erratic and found them to be closed whenever I went for some indulgence. One day, I found that the cafe was closed at this location and thought to myself that this one would surely be missed.
I was pleasantly surprised that they did open the cafe again and was thrilled to get in to my lost memories of the place... Only to be disappointed again! I asked for the pancakes which I cherished earlier, and was told that they do not have them as they are out of stock on the premix batter!
I was taken aback that what I used to like as a Home style and fresh made pancakes were actually of a premix batter! Not much to write about the ambiance as its a home converted to a cafe, with used cans as tissue holders! The prices do seem to have traveled north.
Would love to visit this place again, provided they are stocked well enough and open to business in the evening during Sunday!
They Don't Listen Anymore
Worthless listening skills and a tribute to their uncanny style of pseudo modern ensemble :) LOL
Good food follows great service and this here is a potent combination of useless service and shocking prices :)
All the best - I shall be the harbinger of sad tidings for you in reviews and advertisement.
Overrated!! Not Worth The Wait Time of 45 Minutes
We were a group of 6 including a 5 year old. We were initially told to wait for 20 minutes and post that constant 5 minute excuses. We were asked by the lady(probably the owner) to approach the guest directly to vacate the table. Ridiculous!!! After waiting for 45 minutes we were told to sit in two separate tables .We walked out of the restaurant. The lady was rude!!!
Would have appreciated a straight forward response of the wait time being over 45 minutes. We would have looked for alternatives.
I have always read comments about a wait time of 45 minutes and ignored this feedback because I am a regular at Hole In The Wall and loved the place. Please do not waste your time here . Clearly the owners are not interested in fixing this. As for the 6 of us, we swore never to visit this overrated place again!!! Totally not worth it .
A Perfect Breakfast Place
We reached this place at 10 on a Sunday morning. Since it was just two of us we got the place in half an hour. Guessing it will take much longer for larger groups. We ordered the Farmers breakfast, Cold Coffee, the great Goan sausage fest and fresh juice of the day (watermelon)
The Farmers breakfast was ok, nothing different. The Juice was fresh and perfect, The great Goan sausage fest was simply delicious (recommended), cold coffee was also decent.
In all a good breakfast and pretty reasonable.
The Hangover Remedy
If you are looking for an english breakfast in kormanagala this is the place to be , it has a diverse menu for breakfast , The Hangover Remedy , the Farmers Breakfast , sunday non veg , etc the place has excellent waffles and french toast , don't go for juices not recommended , the service is quite slow , this place is filled with lot of college crowd , definitely value for money .
A very simple place. A true, hole in the wall. With the Galeej Guru boys serving and helping you out. Quite a down-to-earth joint to enjoy a good simple english/american meal.
A little on the "greasy" side, but more on the "yummy" side as well. The beef burgers with a sunny-side-up, gently tucked in between the buns do taste brilliant, especially when you spend below 200 bucks.
The sausages too, are well cooked, and fried right about to the perfect.
I wasn't a fan of their BLT though, hardly had any bacon. Oh and you must be lucky to get a place to sit. Considering that it is almost always crowded.
"The perfect Hole"
Since the time I shifted behind Maharaja Hotel in Kormangala 4th block, I was tired of hearing about this tiny Hole in the wall. And honestly it was quite a bit of a distraction... Hungey pangs :)
Well too much talks make you eager and so finally after 9 months of testing my patience and luck, I finally landed up at 'The Hole in the Wall' with my flatmate. Best time to be in the hole :D is between 8:30 - 9:30 am cuz after that the place is flooded with people waiting outside to grab a seat. Standing true to the name, the cafe has 7-8 small tables all together.
The food listed down the menu drives you crazy. Pancakes, baked omelet, sausages, waffles, cheese cake, french toast and much more to hog on.
My recommendation is to go for the 'All English Breakfast'(just Rs. 160)as it will give you a taste of little bit of those many things on the menu. And within two minutes of my order, crispy fried egg, sauteed mushrooms, a baked tomato, two sausages, and amazingly crispy and yumm beckons were titillating my taste buds. To go along with the plate, I ordered a fresh watermelon juice. Watermelon juice here might just be the best one you've had till date. And I can bet on that!!!
It is a very nice and a cosy place where you can just sit with your favorite book, or a bunch of friends and enjoy a nice sumptuous and very light on pocket breakfast.
This tiny hole was started by Lynn D'Costa, wife of Bangalore based rock band Galeej Guru's lead singer Nathan Lee Harris.
For me Breakfast needs to be filling & I just tried an English breakfast it was amazing with a spread of bacons, beans, mushroom & egg which was a delicious & healthy combination.
Good place but the staff were a little naggy and slow otherwise this is a good place for food.
I would like to try some more when I visit this place again.
would have given 4 stars because of the staff they loose some thing.
Nice food but sad staff
Reached around 10 on a saturday morning, got table for 6 at around 11, placed order immediately, order came by 11.40, the waiter didn get toasts with omelets when we placed the order in second round. we'd asked for pan cakes with nutella and it came after about 20 mins, and that too with maple syrup. They need to quicken their service in order to keep up their reputation of a pleasant breakfast place.

Thanks alot for the Feedback Ankita. We'll definitely work even harder on raising the level of quality of service for our customers.
Everything was cooked perfect!
Finally went to hole in the wall today after hearing tons of recommendations from our friends. Lovely homey vibe and excellent food. The tissue paper messages pinned to the board are adorable! The winner of the night were the chocolate cupcakes (I'm definitely going to try and sweet talk those people into giving me their recipe :D ) The beef had a little gristle to it but tasted good nonetheless. Places like these make me want to eat breakfast for lunch and dinner!
Always have a great time. The all english breakfast is brilliant and the juice of the day is very refreshing. Suggestion, serve pancakes with ice cream :)
Great memories with this place :)

Ice cream coming soon!!
Superb Hangout for Breakfast
An active sunday morning, after cycling or running, ends at HITW. We simply love the freshness of food here - waffles or pancakes (with caramelized bananas are to die for). If you reach early, ask for the Watermelon juice without sugar (else, its with sugar). Well, patience is something that you SHOULD have while waiting for a seat though and do not expect a seat to be vacant soon.

We're glad you love the place! Thank you!
The Rude Waitress !
I ve been going to this quaint breakfast place for many months now and visit on the weekends to eat a variety of modestly priced good to taste eggs and bread.
The only problem with this place is a rude and unpleasant waitress( seems to a relative of the owner ).My friend had ordered a ham and sausage omelette and to her surprise it was full of tomatoes with just traces of the meats. This feedback was not very well received by this lady . So much so that the next time my friend visited and asked her to put less tomatoes the waitress made a face and exclaimed " your the only one who complains on a sunday " .This response was completely uncalled for considering that we are regulars and this place !
On a beautiful breezy sunday morning one would like to go to a breakfast place where people greet you with a smile and not bitch about you for giving feedback about the food which they have served you .
I hope the cafe owners reflect on this behavior and be nice to the people !

I'm so sorry about the experience you had at our cafe. I have spoken to the concerned person and she's really sorry for offending you this way. She claims that she was just joking but thts no excuse for her saying something like that.
Thank you for patronizing our place and for your useful feedback and we'll persevere to get better at what we do.
Good breakfast place
Hi! been here a few times now mostly on sat mornings..very nice english breakfast combo.omlettes are delicious so are french toasts/waffles. love the combo as such which has sausages/baked beans and toast. tea could do being hotter and in slightly bigger mugs.the only downside is you have to be there early to get a decent seats as the tables are really miniature and few and to avoid the sun on the seats out front. but all in all, a nice must visit place.
Give me more!!
Brunch places on a sunday afternoon is something which Bangalore has been craving for. Pricey 5 star lounges should make way for this incredibly tiny yet cute place hidden in a corner behind Maharaja hotel in Koramangala. Having been there more than 3 times, I can vouch for the freshness and taste of their food. From omletes stuffed with veggie to pancakes and waffles this place brings back memories of sunday morning breakfast at home. The only drawback is that this restaurant is too small. Average waiting time is 30 minutes and by then a lot of their fresh juices tend to get over. Try their seasonal aam panna- one of the best I have ever tried!
The place is surprisingly dirt cheap and a meal for two would range from 400-450 bucks.
We keep looking for good and new breakfast places to try out. This one had good reviews so we thought we should check it out. Well, like we had read that the place has waiting period and OMG it had. We went for breakfast and ended up having lunch! waitied for almost an hour to get a table for 4. We ordered English Breakfast and it was upto the mark. Really liked their sausages. Coffee could have been better. Waffle was alright. I think the place can do much better once they learn to manage the crowd well. As I could see the owner running around. It must be very hectic for him to do all the cooking and serving and managing the entire place. I really wish you guys get into a larger place so, that we don't have to wait for the yummy breakfast.
The place is worth the try though.
Move over breakfast joints. Hole in the wall, is now on the map when it comes to breakfast awesomeness .
The Hole in the wall, hiding in a koramangala lane, is difficult to find, is difficult to get a seat, is extremely small "BUT" the place is blessed with what I consider the best english breakfast in Bangalore.
The next time you happen to be in bangalore on a lazy sunday or infact any other day morning ( except mondays, when they are closed :(.. i found that out the hard way ), do yourself a favour and slink into this cafe.
i've been a regular at the hole in the wall only for the past 2-3 weeks or so. Everything they have on their menu is well done.
They have pancakes on the menu, but their best dish is something they dont have on the menu. Caramelized pancakes with banana. This dish is so good, i can have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. Do try it . It really is as good as i say it is.
i've tried their sausages and their sunday morning special.. everything is made fresh and everything tastes amazing...
Definitely a place that is here to stay and a place i would recommend.
Please remain the way you are !
Usually places begin good, and then hunt for more $$ begins and the service goes down. So far, I have seen the standards at HITWC remain the same since 1 year. And this is fantastic, given the fact that its always crowded.
I love the waffles here and the smoked meat on bread is heavenly. Only i wish there was fresh orange juice available. Else, I am also happy with the water melon juice for now. Keep it up guys !

For a Perfect Sunday brunch!!!
One of the best cafes to catch up for brunch in a very quiet environment on a lazy Sunday. An ideal place for the continental breakfast lovers. It is a small place that can accommodate roughly 20-25 people at a time so I would suggest you get there a little early during the weekends as the place gets crowded and you might have to wait for your turn however in my experience its worth the wait. Must try out the English breakfast, pancakes and Elvis sandwich.
Would suggest to call them and check the timings they would be open before you visit as they at times close by noon on Sundays. Overall, the food, ambiance and service is excellent and its a value for money!!! Will be frequenting this place more often...
NOW THAT'S BREAKFAST!
After trying many times to figure out when they are open; managed to get in for some food. What surprised me is the friendliness of the owner in accommodating to our needs. Had a fully loaded burger and an English breakfast, before I was done with the burger I ordered another that's how good it was! Have had a load of burgers in my time but this one is the best by far!
I heard that you must dedicate 2 hours if you want to eat on a weekend! Now that just tells you how good the food is!
A must frequent by Continental breakfast lovers!
Keep it up and open more locations or get a bigger place!
Average, and overrated!
I have been to this place a number of times - because I was living very close for a few months, and because the food is just about palatable.
They mostly serve eggs, sausages, bacon and anything that might qualify as a western breakfast constituent. The food is decent. As someone mentioned, it's not that they serve gourmet sausages. Everything that they serve, is run of the mill frozen stuff off supermarket shelves. The cooking, and the presentation is also normal - not bad, but nothing to write home about. It's pretty much the way I would cook sausages off a Spencer's shelf. I really do not understand what the big deal is all about. A breakfast for two would cost you Rs. 300-500. Finally, the place is atrociously cramped, and the service is painstakingly slow.
This place is okay if you want to spend your entire morning (10 AM - 2 PM), sitting in a corner and nibbling at decent food, without burning a hole in your pocket. For anything else, or any kind of an "eating out" experience - look elsewhere.

Thanks for the feedback Devadittya
Bangalore needed this for years!Awesome place!
As a self-confessed foodie, i make it a point to try a place several times before i pass any judgement. To keep this really simple, i found the place to more than i expected. having heard and rad about it, i was easily impressed with the great quality of food and friendly hospitality. Rarely do you see a restaurant owner walk around and talk to customers trying to get their feedback on the food. Rarely do you see restaurant owners get their hands dirty with making the food! The food was fresh and the quantities were surprisingly large. The interesting mango juice was lovely and refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day! I can see why people are asking in their reviews for the owners to expand but that would just spoil the whole feel of the place. Owner's plz DONT change a thing - the place is perfect on its own!!
Fellow customers were a mixed bunch of elderly, middle aged and young people all enjoying the ambiance as much as each other. Friendly and efficient staff as well.
I get the feeling this place is going to become my regular hangout...more news on the food as i slowly conquer the rest of their menu :)
Repeat vist ? Definitely yes
Went there for a late Saturday breakfast .Now expectations did run pretty high as almost all the review's speak in glowing terms of this place.
The seating on the outside is outrightly cramped and not comfortable if you are planning a long hog.Our orders were
a)Meaty affair - diced sausages and jalapeños wrapped in an omlette. This turned out to be superlative. The sausages were tender and the jalapeños did bring ,just the right amount of tang in the whole affair.
Second came the waffles - great taste,on the thinner side than the usual ones available.
We also ordered an egg white omelette's with sauteed spinach inside - This wasn't as good as the previous two,the spinach did lack any flavor or zest .
Will go there again to sample all the fare listed on the menu .
does not live up to the hype!
No frikin way - I mean I dont care how good the food is, but if you dont serve it with all the love and passion, it is only going to reflect on the quality of the food.
Went there on a sunday morning and after about 40 mins, got a crammy space right in front of the bathroom ( a stray dog just waiting to enter kept staring at us all through the time- so yes, it is also literally a hole in the wall!). we placed our orders and waited for another 30 mins... I mean, sorry, this is not my idea of a lazy breakfast.
I think the only thing that could have made up all this was the food - however, this was not the case.
the beans were 100% out of a store bought can, the sausages were tasteless. I mean when i want a lazy break, the idea is that I am lazy, not the person cooking it. The french toast isnt really anything to write about. I was totally disappointed with the entire experience. A tiny quaint place should reflect the cozy atmosphere in the food as well - I wish they would pay attention and make a real effort with the quality of the food - if i just wanted a greasy omlette and a sausage/breans from the store, I might as well go to the nearest nilgiris and go to the frozen section!!!!!
Great Weekending Brunching Place
Its a every Sunday affair since we got to know of this place.
The breakfast is yummy .. only if you are willing to wait for like 20 mins.. but totally worth it.. The place is really small ... like a nice street Cafe in France(well maybe not France ;) ) ... very cosy and @ home.
The pricing is very decent ...
Yes the place needs to get bigger .... but it may loose its charm if does.
As long as you have no issues waiting to get a table ... you will be fine...
Good food but extremely rude hostess
My friends and i are regulars at this place as we love the food. However we were shocked when one of the hostesses was EXTREMELY RUDE!!!!! for no reason at all. We were waiting to be seated while ppl who came after us got a place to sit. To clarify this we went and asked her for a table and thats when she lost it and was EXTREMELY RUDE!!!. That was a big put off. We left without any food and a foul mood. The place could do better with good service and not piss off the customers with their rude behaviour

Hi, thank you for bringing this to our notice. I havent had a chance to respond to this post in the past but i can assure you that we will work harder to avoid instances like this.
Visited on 20th Jan. Tiny, compact & neat place. Very soothing & my chioce of music. Decent fare. A real nice change for someone looking for English breakfast! ordered Great white. White of egg with spinach stuffed in! Toast was real crisp & neat. Then ordered Baked beans on toast. Yum stuff! Tho..coffee was a bit disappointing with its temperature,...not by its quality & aroma! Ambience is soothing & calming, what with its amazing choice of music!!. Service is neat. Real value for money! On the whole...a great work by Ms.Lynn D'costa! Worth repeat visits!!!
The best breakfasts ever
They are very close to my office and i eat here almost everyday, Its run by Lynne Dcosta who is now my friend and she does all the cooking...
Her all meat omelet is to die for.. her pancakes are light and fluffy and her waffles are crisp just the way i love it.. She also make the best burgers careful not to eat it when ur trying to impress someone cos u invariable have mayo and cheese dripping all over u and can get quite messy, but its worth it all.. She make a very interesting sandwich called the elvis sandwich, its peanut butter bananas and bacon, and the combination is fantastic..
Her Mother and her make all the baked stuff but it invariably get sold out a few min after its put on the shelf.. she once made a lemon sponge cake which was a lovely moist sponge cake with a lemon curd filling dripping out of it which was mind blowing..
The only thing the place needs are a few more tables.. u get served by Lynne or her friends and most people who come there treat the place as their own and get up and wait on tables themselves..
Every thing perfect
Was their yesterday for the first time with friends for a snack lunch. Amazing place. Loved the ambiance, services and cheerful aura of the place and the people running it.
But I would like push them for additions to vegetarian options on the menu.
Tried the Veg burger, it was yummy. Will recommend it.
Will be their again an often. :)
Something really awesome
Hole in the wall is like that small little cafe like on the hills of Darjeeling serving you the beautiful English breakfast. Right now the place is all christmasssy and cheerful.
The food is out of the world. The omelette, the pancakes, the waffles, PBJ sandwhich, simply brilliant. and mind-blowingly cheap.
Go to this place for a tasteful breakfast experience on a good morning. You feel good cuz its cheap too.
Excellent Breakfasty Place
I've been a regular here for lunches when our company serves food that is not worth eating.
I've found the menu to be decent, though vegetarian (NO eggs) options are kinda lacking. The owner makes up for that by customising some items with vegetarian substitutes.
Overall a pretty good place, though ask them to cut down on the butter/mayo/something that they amply supply in all their dishes!
treat for ideal idle sunday mornings
We first went to this place on a friend's recommendation for a Sunday brunch. We had the All English breakfast and the beef burger. Both were really things to die for unless you are looking for the ultra commercial feel of the two dishes. Both give you the cooked-at-home delicacy feel and what a feel! We went back to this place every alternate Sunday for 3 months straight!
The place is definitely a little small and this is our top most request for the owner, Lynn. The place is getting popular and needs expansion. The owners are definitely very friendly and so resourceful that the regulars don't mind helping them out on the busy weekends. :)
Go to this place for a relaxed idle Sunday brunch time and I promise you will not be betrayed of it... Just a perfect place for Sunday chill out...
must try the beef burger.... yummmmyyyy
i started of with the fresh fruit of the day which to my luck was the raw mango it was just what i needed after the horrible day i was having. the beef burger with the bacon and egg was to die for. i swear i still dream about it. my friend had the waffles, they were spot on crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and homemade syrup he literally licked off the plate. although the foodie inside me was full till the brim i insisted on having a brownie, AND I DO NOT REGRET IT. it looked so very comforting and gave you the home feeling since it was still in the baking tray. now enough about the looks the brownies just melted in your mouth. the service was not up to the mark but its not like your paying through your nose for it and plus it makes you feel like your home..
My experience at The Hole in the Wall Cafe began with several fruit flies on the table and flying around the table next the cold coffee came with spoiled milk it was already curdling before I got it. The bacon was undercooked, saving the best for last wait for it wait for it there was a cooked bug inside the bread ! ! ! Then it took 10 minutes after I asked for the bill to get it, and she charged for the whole breakfast...Poor customer service, poor food, poor attitude by staff. So if your looking to have excruciating stomach pain, a disgusting feeling and nearly throwing up The Hole in the Wall Cafe is where to be ! ! !
Jalapenos with Eggs are meant for each other
There are a lot of nice breakfast items on the menu, and the prices are very reasonable. It gets really full in the mornings, so I would plan ahead or come after 11AM as they serve breakfast all day. In any case, it's definitely worth a visit. It's a little hard to find though, so give them a buzz.
I had the Sunday Special and the Omelet with Jalapenos. Dee-licious.
would rate this place as average. I had a BLT sandwich and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was very dilute and this shows the lack of interest in quality.
The BLT was also average. the bacon was chopped into really small pieces and there were very few pieces. I like my BLT with nice big strips of bacon but that was not the case here.
The place is not expensive but very cramped. seating capacity is at the max 10-12.
I would probably give one more chance to this place but only for their all-english breakfast which I heard from someone else
No hole in the pocket this!!!!!
It had been on the radar for a while now...And it lived up to the high expectations and how !!!!!!! The ambience is straight out of a London/Paris/European city street - infact also reminds one of a deli. To add to the ambience, there were also a couple of board games and a few magazines complete with some artwork for sale ....For food, we had ordered a cheese omelette with salami, the sunday special baked eggs with ham, baked beans on toast, buttermilk pancakes, hot chocolate & a chicken sandwich and everything was fab. Not-to-miss are the omelets and the pancakes. The toast too was great and the butter all runny. Total tab came up to 410 bucks. Total VFM. Unbelievable atmosphere. Just (secretly) hope it doesnt get too popular since waiting times are already quite high during peak hours :)
Simple, unassuming place created with passion
A simple and unassuming place serving breakfast and sandwiches. The food, ambiance and service is intimate and honest and clearly reflects the sincerity of the owner. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet, unpretentious place for a wonderful breakfast (haven't tried their sandwiches) with a typical owner-run, European sidewalk cafe feel ... I don't know of any other place in Bangalore like this as it a category of its own.
