If you are visiting, living in or simply driving through Bangalore and ask someone where would be a good place to drink beer, half of the time they will say Toit.
The Beer -
The Beer isn't the best in the city, but its good enough, love the dark knight - is my staple beer when I visit. If you have a picky palate you should hoof up to windmills in Whitefield for some of the best brewed beer in Bangalore.
The Food -
Must Try - The cream cheese pizza, the calamari rings and the lamb pie (I luuurve this - the crumbly crust is amazing)
What's not to like -
It is always full, so don't show up expecting to get a place to sit, once had to wait 20 minutes on a Wednesday afternoon :)
Good ambiance and they have expanded a month or so back, the waitstaff is courteous and recognize regulars.
All in all - a must try
Most Awesome Brewery in Town
Toit was one of the first Brewery's to open it Bangalore. Ever since it opened its a big hit in the city. The Brewery is so popular that it even draws crowds on Mondays and Tuesdays. The reasons I love this place is everything, be it their freshly crafted beer, delicious lip smacking food, amazing ambiance to their peppy music, everything rocks at Toit. As for food one should not miss their Pizza's. Its truly one of a kind. If you still not been to Toit you must be dreaming, so wake up and give yourself the Toit experience.
One of the Best Beers in Bangalore!
Ever since I have come to Bangalore, every second person asks me whether I have been to Toit or not. So finally I headed there with my gang of friends. On the ever so busy 100 ft road on Indiranagar, Toit is never vacant. Luckily, we managed to get a place for ourselves. I totally loved Toit Weiss. The medium bodies fresh brewed goodness was a perfect reason to visit this place again and again. For the ones who like their beer on a little dark or bitter side, they should go for Dark Knight. In food, the nachos are quite nice, they are baked and tastes quite different. A word of caution, don't confuse them with Nacho bhel.
A must visit place guys!
I was there 2 days back after recommendation from my friends. I am an avid beer drinker. Entering this place itself was a mess, it was crowded, the waiter had an attitude.
I asked if he had wheat beer, he said no. I asked for IPA, "no we don`t have it'. I asked for apple cider, "we don`t have it."
Then the waiter named Nagaraj, brought his floor manager and he was like we will not serve you. He gave me reason saying you had beer at other places so we will not serve you.
Well I walked out because I could not handle their tantrums and headed to a sports bar.
I would request all you folks just don`t visit this place because everyone recommends, its bad and owners are throwing attitude because so many of us visit this place.
I am sure if they continue acting this way, no one will visit.
Never Going Back!
Expected a fun, relaxed evening with my friends at a nice pub. Unfortunately, there were kids running around all over the place, tugging at tables and destroying the ambiance. When I asked the servers to shift us to another table, I was asked whether I was allergic to kids by a server, Himesh. Rude, ill-mannered servers ruined the night for us.
The food was decent and the dessert was divine but it just did not make up for the terrible experience.
Avoid on the Weekends!
On Sunday evening at 2000 hrs this 3 level brew pub was running full capacity with people on the wait-list. We were two and walked up to check all the levels. It was cacophony with no music to be heard so we went up to the bar on the third level and asked for samplers (they sell those at some 200 Rs) They asked us to go to the second as they had run short of glasses .We went to the second level bar and they asked us to go to the 3rd level as they had no glasses too!!! Wow we just got ourselves a weisse and a ragi (Red Millet) special along with baked nachos. The weisse was aromatic and refreshing and the ragi one was pale ale like . The nachos were a terrible failure although they seemed popular, lavache ( flat bread sticks of refined flour but nachos is corn flour) baked unevenly covered with a lovely Mornay (Cheese sauce) and brunoise of onions and tomatoes.
Verdict: They have a worthy menu but the nacho teaser was a letdown. Let me not judge them on one item. I will avoid this place on peak days unless if I am in a group where I would may be not notice the chaos around as I will be part of one perhaps.
Wow What a Feel!
More than anything this place has the vibe ..... You enter the place and its a different world all together.... Good music , awesome crowd , alcohol flowing and a variety of food!
Its really crowded on weekends and I guess that's why the service is a bit slow .... But the atmosphere is great !!!! Keep up the good work guys!
Quite a Buzz!
A friend told me to check this place out when in Bangalore and I was glad I did! First it was only around for an hour or so, however I had a very nice time here. Nice beers, loved the Tintin and Darknight, quite interesting brews. The place is literally buzzing through out and everyone is quite casual. Very nice food, we only had a pizza and a few wings, both were yummy, quite friendly staff and quick service even when the place was crowded. Hope to make it here soon!
Love This Place
I absolutely love Toit! Be it the food, the ambiance, the drinks or the music, they have got everything just right! The outdoor seating on a pleasant Bangalore evening is amazing!
I have tried a lot of dishes on their menu. I am not a big fish person, but the fish n chips here are my favorite. A melt in the mouth dish with absolutely no smell! The pizza and burgers here are pretty great too.
However, the place tends to have a very strong repelling smell when they clean the brewery. It would have been great if the brewery was not sitting right in the middle of the restaurant.
Best micro brwery and a lovely crowd
Book your table in advnce or else end up being in bar counter :- place is over crowded . There a friendship cocktail , good to share it with friends sitting on the couch , beer s defintely must try . Pizza is worth the money , good deserts , loved the starters and it doesnt burn your pocket :) way to go pals , Toit is the place to be if u wanna have beer on a hot sunday afternoon
It's a nice place, over crowded gets a little claustrophobic. Love their beers one place you can just hangout with your friends. Music is not great hardly audible. Food is good the pizzas are value for money. Try the week days it's not that crowded.
PLACE 4/5 Service 2/5 F&B 4/5 Overall 4/5
A hangout- Hotspot
Being a beer lover this place was an awesome experience for me. With Metro, the landscape has totally changed :) Totally different beer tasting experience!!! Go for the beer, it's great. Have the food if you fancy a snack but don't plan on it being your evening out, pretty ok food...!!! Do have tall expectations, as the ambivalence is good :)
superb hangout place
I have been to this place several times which nywez tells its an awesom place. With their wow ambience & brewery, I & my group lov hangin out. Dere were times wen hardly dere was plac 2 stand in a comfy but still we enjoyed 2 d core. It was our tyme & we had a gala evening.i think it should be in every wishlist & ur gonna crave 4 more. Kp toiting m/
Beyond the good food, ambiance & service!!
Last night 2-3 of us went to Toit and had a great time. Finger licking food, good drinks & service...now thats not new for Toit!! I am writing to compliment & appreciate the honesty displayed by the staff there.
After a couple of hours, one of the guys from the bar approached & informed her that she had dropped her card (while we were there, one of my friends had dropped her debit card & was not aware as we were having a good time!!) In the meanwhile, the card was swiped by someone for an order we had not placed. They not only returned the card but also gave back cash equal to the amount swiped:) Thank you for displaying honesty especially on a friday nite when its chaotic!!
Good Ambiance, Expensive
Ambiance is SUPERB. Loved the machine displayed and all those wood stairs. Pretty HUGE place spanning 3 floors. But wasnt too happy about the beer variety. Those look good but not great to me. Neither my friends were happy. Would NOT go back, its on the expensive side as well. Take your gf there to impress her, NOT for the drinks.
Nice microbrewery with amazing food
I like Toit for the amazing space it has though it can get pretty crowded during weekends. The beer which is brewed at this microbrewery is the best in Bangalore compared to Beer Garden or Biere Club. The food specially pepperoni pizza is to die for and you should not miss the other wood fried pizzas too. Only issue is they have a very good place for a band to play but hardly any events happen there!
Awesome beer! Good foo... Hic
Absolutely awesome beer. I went there twice recently, and love the Tintin Toit. I tried the sampler too, and almost everything was very good.
Its a massive place, but the ambience is good throughout. The cocktails are good, and the food is very good too. We tried a lot of the appetizers and a pizza, and everything was uniformly good.
Very highly recommend it for a relaxed evening with good beer and food. Tends to get very crowded, so reach before 8:30 to make sure you get a table. If you're there after 9, you might have to wait upto 45 mins to get a table. Though I'm sure you won't mind waiting at the bar :)
Awsomeeeee place... loved it!!!
Toit is known to almost every single person in Bangalore. Such is the status they have achieved over a short period of time. Arguably one of the best looking places in Bangalore. There is something that can't be described about TOIT. One of my friends refers to it as a "buzz". The place is always full every night, but yet wasn't crowded. The glass and steel structure lends a wonderful feel to the entire place. Its is largely about the drinks. And especially the beer if u r a beer love its the place to be in!!!!
A New and Fun experience every time
I absolutely love this micro-brewerie that in my experience serves some of the best beer in town. No matter what the occassion or what time of day, its always fun to drop by Toit with friends and chill over a couple of beers and a delicious pizza. The music is good and the service and waiters are very pleasant.
The best part, its not as expensive as some of the other over-priced pubs and lounges in the city. Toit always leaves me hungry for more.
Although this place is always packed, i go back constantly. It has a really nice feel to it and along with that really good food and great beer. They brew their own beers and its a refreshing change from the regular beer we usually have. The pizzas are really yummy and so are the chicken wings. A fun place to go with friends.
Amazingly nice and cozy..
Amazing freshly brewed beer..!! true Italian Pizza.. cheese nachos.. Chicken lollipops.. I dont think the list ends ever..!! nicely made drinks.. U can easily sit your night out after a long day at work.. gets a tad bit crowded as the evening passes by.. I suggest you to go grab a table the moment you get free.. once you are settled in to the place.. it's one hell of a nice and cozy place to talk and drink and talk and eat!!!
Love the beer
I love the beer which is actually brewed here.. and all of them taste good :) i especially loved the toit colossal. I am in loved with the artichoke pizza here and i ordered them for the two times i had been here. But its quite a noisy place and u really have to scream for the other person to hear. overall i had a lovely experience and its a must visit place :)
When i first visited it wth my husband we had to wait for nearly 20 mins as it was a weekend. But it was definitely worth the wait. my husband has become a fan of their artichoke pizza :) and i have become a fan of their lusty chocolate.. chocolate with vodka is a deadly combination :) The second time when i went with my friends all of them ended up ordering the same and they loved it :) Must visit :)
Amazing craft beer! I only drink microbrew beer, and this was great!
Brilliant food! Huge mushroom in the garlic-fried mushroom starter, dripping cheesy potato skins, and I don't remember what else I ate but it was yum! :D
It's also a brilliant place to talk, even though it is a noisy pub.
I did not face any issues with waiters, although 2 of us sat at a table waiting for our 8 friends for 45 minutes on Saturday night. Totally understanding people. :)
Absolutely love the place!
awesome place to enjoy pizza and beer .
Pizzas are true Italian. Wow! Paprika veg Pizza is one superb pizza which I will never forgot. Its just mind blowing!
Beers like Basmati blonde , Dark knight . Toit Red ....Love them all.
Service is good, and it's not hyper expensive.
Overall a good place for a fun evening with friends.
good place to hangout
i really love this place . cause both family and youngsters can come same time. it is not like other pub. only thing i didn't like that was on weekdays also it was crowded and i was searching place to sit. waiter will ask you for tip, as the Toit owner is not paying them.
love this place
God bless Bangalore and its pub culture.Great ambiance. Good food. The pizzas and cocktail pitchers are highly recommended. I am not much of a beer person but i just love the beer they have.
Basmati blonde , Dark knight . Toit Red ....Love them all.
Starting from the moment you enter to the time you leave the place, it is a super experience
Disappointed this time..
They say every service dies its natural death in India :P and so did toit this time...flip side of having too much crowd and too few people to manage.
We waited for our order in one small corner forever..and to follow up every order had to get up and go hunting for our MAN (the cool bartender) and coax him to visit our table sometime soon....PLUS the quality of beer seemed to have gone down - tasted much watered-up....PLUS took us 2 days to book a place in advance - only to find out that their signature product TINTIN TOIT was out of stock for over 2 weeks - which I thought they could have/should have informed us during (the negotiations for) booking....etc etc.
So all this seemed new, when we go back a year to think of how cool this place was from every angle one could consider...disappointed...and not worth any more!
awful unwelcoming service
Toit's wait staff and managers get hot and bothered over their cheap cardboard coasters. Really, if the coasters are precious tack the charge onto the final bill. Id rather pay whatever they are worth than having to deal with the rude automatons that comprise their wait staff. Isnt the first time, the whole coaster nonsense happened to us (a group of over 16 with collective amnesia that decided to revisit the coasternazis).
Apart from the coaster nonsense, the food is mediocre at best, service is well non-existent, valet parking is very slow later at night. Id rather go to a more friendly/welcoming place to get a couple of beers, this is bangalore after all!
Absolutely love the place!
Have been there a number of times and each time it gives me a new reason to come back. I am not much of a beer person, but I'd have to say from the word-of-mouth that their brewery is unmatched in the entire city. The cocktails are no less. The food actually goes a step further.
All in all, one of the best places to be in Indiranagar. Any time of the day/night.
It's a nice fun place
Had been to toit last night for my birthday party with friends, and we had a jolly good time.
The ambience of the place is fine, its cozy and we were sitting on high chairs by the bar.
They make their own beer, with 7-8 different flavours.
We tried the beer sampler where they give about 90ml each of 4 diff flavours. None of them was great really, so we stuck to the usual drinks later on.
The food is mixed, mostly good and some not so much. Fish and pizza was great, nachos were exceptional, but chicken was bad.
Service is good, and it's not hyper expensive.
Overall a good place for a fun evening with friends.
Physically and verbally abusive bouncer
On the afternoon of the 21st of July, I decided to pay a visit to Toit for the third time ever, with my significant other. We were politely greeted at the door by a diminutive fellow who smelled of beer and looked very happy to see us. We sat down at a table on the ground floor and ordered our favourite beers straight away, although disappointed to hear that only 3 beers were on tap at the time. After about 3 pints each, we were joined by another couple that we are friends with and promptly ordered shots of Irish Whiskey for each of us.
The revelry continued for some time, with more beer and shots, until it was time for my partner to leave for the night and I dutifully escorted her outside to board an auto. I left my cell phone at the table with my two waiting friends, not realizing that this might become a problem later. I was outside the Pub for all but 2 minutes when the first autorickshaw agreed to ferry her home (seriously, how often does that happen?). We said quick goodbyes to each other and I turned around with my friends and a waiting Tintin Toit in mind.
When I reached for the door handle, I felt an arm push my hand down. Upon closer inspection, it was a hefty guy in a suit (a bouncer, if you will) who wanted me to state my business there, which I thought was pretty funny since it was a Public House that I had just stepped out of, not 2 minutes ago. If he was indeed a bouncer, he was not very observant and certainly not polite, I thought. I told him that I wanted to go inside to my friends and that he could come inside with me to verify this, which he either did not hear or chose to believe was a lie. Satisfied that I had answered the unanswerable question, I reached for the door handle again and this time, he inserted his arm between the door and yours truly and gave a mighty shove which pushed me back a good 4-something feet.
Taken aback, I looked at this hostile person who was getting between me and my beer (not a wise idea under most circumstances) and gathered my wits which were pretty numb and confused by then due to, well - alcohol. He called me names at this point, and appeared quite threatening. I thought it amusing that a new-ish establishment would treat customers this way and all this while I was mute and stared blankly at him, which seemed to infuriate him further. He did not get physically violent beyond this point, probably because I was out of his reach, staring blankly.
Once more I tried to explain that my phone, the beer that I was previously drinking and my friends were all inside waiting for me at my table and that my tab was probably over INR.5000 at this point, which I was debating walking away from, being denied access to the inside. On hearing the last bit, he asked me to provide a phone number he could call and verify. I gave him mine and he started to key it in half-heartedly on his cell phone and mid way, decided to take up my offer that we go inside to verify my story. On reaching the inside, I was too pissed (and piss drunk, evidently) to give a shit and promptly paid my tab and said goodbye to this establishment for the last time.
I was told that this man apologized to my friend who was not as drunk, on our way out; but the damage had been done. Toit was turning out to be my favourite watering hole, but not when they treat their customers like this. On the same note, might I add that the hostess is the nicest lady and the wait staff is polite.
I try not to let one-off incidents influence my loyalty, but this did it for me. I could have been seriously injured when he pushed me and he had no reason to suspect that my intentions were malevolent. I was never physically or verbally abusive and he was both of those things. If the bouncer was worth his salt, he should have remembered me walking out the door since I did not move more than 30 feet from him this whole while. The usher at the door did not seem to care at all.
All in all, good beer, good people for the most part and one crappy experience. I think I'll take my money to The Biere Club next time. More expensive, as they are - at least they don't treat you like trash at the door.
July 31, 2012response from management at Toit:
Our sincere apologies. This should not have happened, but as they say, hindsight is always 20/20. The fault here lies as much with us as management for not providing proper guidelines to the bouncers on how to deal with & interact with customers, as it does with the bouncers themselves. We have taken decisive steps to change this, and if we can persuade you to visit us again, you will definitely see the change.
If there is anything else you would like to talk to us about, please email us at email@example.com

Dear Toit Owners,
Check the review posted by Prajnay Rajulu above, if what he says is true, I think you should work big time on this. I for one, will ensure that next time I visit your pub, I will make it a point to talk to everyone in Kannada. Being in the heart of Bengalooru, you should be sensitive towards language and more importantly being in the service industry, you need to be sensitive towards your customers too.
Lost its purpose
Indiranagar resident for nearly 3 decades..NEVER entering it again after what the 'Bouncer' told me and my friend at the entrance when we came in get a couple of beers at the end of a long day.."NEE PO YA..Couples Only"..haha..1. Its nota night club and 2. I'm not Tamilian..There's a way to talk to a customer..forget customers..to people..Isn't Toit supposed to be a brew pub (and not a night club) where you come down in the evening to get a beer..It sure lost its purpose midway and will soon lose more customers like me..Funny thing is that we were frequenters..Too bad..
In order to strike a balance (or ratio), keep the same bouncer guy inside and throw out people who misbehave..not at the entrance ill-treating people..
July 23, 2012response from management at Toit:
Dear Prajnay, we are extremely sorry for what you went through at our doors. That is not something we'd like to have happened. As you said, we are a brewpub and not a night club. We have never had a strict dress code, a cover charge or entry restrictions and we at no point wish to change that, the busy weekends notwithstanding. That said, we are located around some wine shops which attract a crowd that may compromise the safety of patrons such as yourself. But, as we are beginning to realize, our bouncers are not the greatest when it comes to j
Should I get a sex change?
Sexism is pervasive in our society. In most areas of life, women are discriminated against.
But at Toit, it's the men who have to stand around hopping on one foot to get a drink, after being brusquely pushed aside by the obnoxious wait staff.
The food is okay.. just okay.
The microbrews - i had the basmati and tintin on another occasion - are nice.
The owners would have you believe that this is a hip club, and it's certainly flavour of the moment.
But it's not going to last, if they continue their high and mighty attitude.
Worst Experience at Toit
Been to the place more than a dozen times in past 6 months. But today I went with a friend who was casually dressed. Though I went in, I dint notice that the idiots dint allow my friend inside saying the entry was reserved to couples only. I was seriously irritated and wanted to throw a fight. The shitty people dint allow him inside just cos he was casually dressed (though he was wearing a shirt and a tracks pant and a set of sandals). I have seen guys walking in 3/4ths. But then I donno why the hell they picked on my friend.
My friend being a nice guy dint make a mess and just left. We came back irritated and much disappointed. Never gonna go to the shitty place again.
Last Weekend I went to Toit after a long long time. The place was packed and good place for pub lovers. I dont have much understanding about beer but tried a sip from my friend and liked it. We were standing by the bar and I personally feel that the bar can be more organised. The bartenders were completely messed up and the drinks were taking time. They were trying their level best but I guess they can do better.
Service was very average, however I guess it was too crowded to expect a good service. Dint try the food so cant comment.
Overall we had a good experience as we were a big number.
hi devdath,,after reading your review i decided to visit TOIT, it was exactly opposite to what you mentioned in your review. i had a great time. the pricing was decent and the ambiance great. i feel you should spend more time learning about beer and food than waste your time writing reviews.what is @#$% chicken? please educate us. are you from the competition? to the toit team,,,, keep it up, a great place.will be there soon.
A fair place serving decent food and beer
Toit, in my view, is a fairly decent place serving some decent brews & honest food. Therefore it was little surprsing to see a review like the one posted below.
If I remember, earlier Toit also used to serve tasters free. I have enjoyed their free tasters on three or four occassions. This was true in Bierre Club too. However, on my recent visits I found that both places charge a fixed price for their tasting shots. Whether they could revive the practice of offering free tasters, I dont know. The management would do very well to revive this simple concept. Great Customer building relationship, I would say.
Having said that, between Bierre Club, Toit and The Punjabi By Nature ( the three places serving craft beers at presnet in Bangalore) I would rate the beers at Toit better than the other two. In terms of quality & in terms of price. No grouses there. My only issue with Toit is they seem to be perpetually out of stock for Tin tin Toit, their best beer!!
Coming to food, over a period of time, on my numerous visits to this place, I have virtually ordered all the short eats on the menu and some main courses too. I have always found that their food to be decent. Infact on many occassions my partner was one of the best food critics of Bangalore and this person whole heartedly agreed with me that the pub grub here is top notch. The chicken wings are droolworthy, the pizzas are very good too. They have a fish starter - which is way better than some appetisers in some of the fine dine restaurants of the city. And their prices, till now, are very decent, ranging between 125 and 200 for veg and non veg appetisers.
The one place where they deserve a bit of attention is in their cocktails section. And that is the reason I have taken off one star. The quality of their cocktails are very unpredictable. At times it is Wow inducing and at other times it is not even worth taking a second sip. Would the management take a look at this please?

Hello Drunkenmonk. Thank you for this feedback.
We have always charged for our sampler sets, but at the same time, if a customer wants to just taste the beer before deciding, we are more than happy to oblige. The sampler sets are designed typically for larger groups, and each set contains more than 350ml of beer..am sure you understand why we cannot possibly give this away for free.
Regarding the cocktails, are there any particular ones you would like to draw our attention to? We are constantly working towards ensuring co

I know, I know, about the non availablity of TInTin Toit. Saturday when I was there, one of your waiters told me that you were out of stock since the last one month.
As regards cocktails, your Long Island Teas - both the coke and the cranberry versions are superlative. Never been disappointed with them. And then that drink named 69 something, was also very good.
Of the other indifferent ones? Here are a couple.
Lusty Chocolate was very good the first time we ordered, the next couple of occassions it was the watere

The worst brewery and the worst beer I ve ever had
I, unfortunately, went to this overhyped, famed brewery yesterday evening with 9 of my friends who are all decent foodies. None of us are the "just out of college, oblivious to the world" kinds. I ve visited many breweries in Gurgaon, abroad and know it when beer is well brewed and tastes good.
To begin with, the ambience is not all that great, however, it is acceptable. Upon entering, we were shown a round table with decent space for 5 people at most but were told that all 10 of us would need to "adjust".
This inspite of being a pre-reserved table and numbers.
All the breweries that I ve been to, thus far, offer "tasters" free of cost in shot glasses, however, at Toit it costs INR 150.00.
On top of this, they had only 3 flavors out of the 5 that they claim to brew and yet, INR 150.00 was fixed.
Talk about fleecing.
The beer, wheat ,fruit and Basmati were horrendous to say the least. There was no flavor of raisins in the so called fruit brew, Basmati was too tangy and wheat, the less said about it, the better.
Then came the starters. Every @#$% chicken dish had the same sweet and sour barbecue sauce poured on top and this includes their famed chicken wings.
When we ordered the spiciest possible starter, it was uncooked chicken strips with raw red chilli powder on top.
This signaled the end of our patience, or so, we thought. When one of us casually asked the waiter if this was the usual taste of food and beer here, the reply he got was: "Look at the crowd Sir, if it had been that bad, they wouldnt have come".

Thank you for your feedback. Seeing how you have plastered your comments on every possible website, it is pretty obvious to us that your agenda is anything but to provide genuine, constructive feedback. All the best to you.
June 8, 2012response from management at Toit:
My agenda is to ensure that prospective customers know what they are getting into when they come to Toit. As far as the authenticity of my feedback is concerned, it would be better if you had taken it positively and attempted to improve your fallacies.

It is my moral responsibility as a cheated customer to tell everyone possible of what I had to face at your joint, which is exactly what I will continue to do.
Wonderful in Every Way
I live very close to Toit and have been eyeing this place and the crowd that goes to it for a long time now. Today, I actually had a chance to go in, as a friend of mine insisted we go here for lunch. We entered and were politely greeted by the hostess. As my friend wanted to sit outside, we walked to the outside part of the brew pub and sat down. I noticed to my surprise that this was a pet friendly place. This pleased me as I love animals. The seats we sat on were very comfortable however, I had a back injury recently and needed a lot of cushions. Therefore, we decided to go up to the top floor where I was given to understand heaps of cushions were available. As we climbed upstairs, I took a look around and really liked the place. Its got loads of seating options for one thing and it can seat quite a large crowd from what I gathered. Arrived on the top floor, we sat down on seats which overlooked the busy 100 foot road and then looked at the menus. My friend ordered a cream cake loaded with fruit which she had spotted in a show case near the entrance to the floor. I took my time about choosing and after looking carefully at all the options available, I chose a Roasted Tomato Orange Bisque soup. It sounded nice, looked most appetising but tasted too orangy for my liking. I enjoyed the curried bun that came with it though. Soup over, I ordered a dish of Prawns. Prawns with Fire I think it was. That tasted lovely. While waiting for the food to arrive and between chats with my friend, I looked through the food and drinks menus. I was extremely impressed with the liquor on offer. This is the first place where I have seen a Roberto Cavalli liquor available. There was also an impressive selection of Vodka (I enjoy Vodka) and loads of other options. The food menu was also extensive and there seemed quite a variety. The food was also very reasonably priced. After chatting for a while, we paid our bill and left. My overall impression of the place is that it has a great ambience, fantastic service - the waiters couldn't have been nicer and more helpful, extensive liquor and food menus, a minimal serving time of food ordered and a very hip crowd. Definitely a place which I shall return to a number of times, especially as its walking distance from home and therefore an ideal watering hole, and which I will recommend to people.
I went to Toit last month, and have been dropping there every other weekend. I loved a lot of things about the place- starting from the thatched roof architecture, the ambiance inside, the drunk creature mascot and most importantly the wonderful beer. I tried all the beers and I liked Tintin the most, nice and light, with a fruity tatse. The other light beers are Weiss and Basmati! Personally, I'm not a stout beer fan. The Dark Knight's aftertaste is too overwhelming, and is not very guzzler-friendly.
I didn't experiment much on food, because I tried the Sea Food Salad, and it goes so well with Tintin that I keep on ordering that.
You cannot miss the quirky graphics and one-liners they've put all over, especially the red urinal in the gents restroom :P And of course the open area on the top floor where you can enjoy your smoke and watch the metro whizz by!
Visiting from the US I was happy with this place
It's not apparent from the Toit website, but these guys serve their own craft brews. The beer tends toward light and sweet but they've done a good job!
If you're sick of the Fosters/Kingfisher/Budweiser/Toubourg routine in Bangalore, this is a great place to go, and it's not too expensive.
The lightest, Tintin, was my favorite. It's not strong or challenging but has a fantastic aroma and sweet, fruity taste. It reminded me of blue moon's winter ale. The rest were decent as well, the Red tastes like a very light IPA. All the brews served here are very drinkable and refreshing, they are not going to offend the indian palette, which I think is admirable.
The pizza Margherita is very good. Perfectly baked thin crust, lovely cheese consistency, goes well with the Tintin.
I'd definitely recommend this place especially if you are tired of the ultra-spicy food/crap quality pitchers that we get all over the city.

Thanks for the positive feedback..much appreciated! Do drop by again soon.
Shitty Place: Never go there
well people i dont put reviews but this time i am actually very disappointed by the staff.
we were celebrating a birth party of my gal friend & asked for the table at the upper deck for 6 of us @ 7pm but the person who picked the phone said, its on first come first serve basis..
We asked for some decoration also but they refused it too....
Neways we land up @ 7:10 and can see there were tables empty but they refused to give us as it was booked for some VIP guest and the guy showed us the bar to stand or asked to go down on ground floor. he dosent have a courtesy to say that he will try and arrange something for us.
Food served Cold... Brewery which they talk about alot is one of the worst...
waiters stinks.. they were RUDE & they dont know anything about food....
the table they booked for VIP guest, its basically for four STAGS, they all look like Gorillas.......10:15pm they shut the music... then we decide to walk of the place to go somewhere else.. we were waiting for our car which we gave it Vallet parking, before he comes bouncer start shouting on us and asked to go and stand on the road not in front of restaurant which they call it a pub...
dont waste your time & spoil your mood.
I also wanna hear what management has to say about this.
May 12, 2012response from management at Toit:
We apologise for the bad experience you had.
Regarding table reservations - The "VIP" guests you refer to had probably made an advance booking, and hence had a table reserved for them. You would have been told to walk in for a table only because all the tables were already reserved prior to your enquiry.
Can you let us know which dishes you ordered? As you are probably aware, some dishes are meant to be served cold, but if this is not the case here, we will have a word with our kitchen about the same.
Could you le
Dog friendly, good food, awesome cocktails.
Been to Toit twice now... once with friends and the other time with family including pet dog... this is definitely one of the best hang outs in Indiranagar.
The husband loved the beer; the food (we ordered glazed chicken and spaghetti with meat balls) were good.. Cocktails were really nice too (long island and pina colada were both brilliant)
the best part about Toit is:
- ideal hang out with friends
- they provide an outdoor dining area where you can take in your dog (carry your leash for sure and water bowl etc if needed).
Nothing to Sing About
We visited Toit for lunch last week. We tried a few different beers just to get a taste of what was brewed here. One was not available the rest were not bad at all. The only thing that goes with beer is good food. Toit lacks in this area. Food was served was tasteless. We asked for the chicken starter to be spicy but it was bland. The sauce that came with it was bland too. My chops came with a brown colored sauce which had the texture but no taste. Pizza was ok.
For me the food was not up to mark.
Coolest hangout place in Indiranagar
This my most favorite place in Bangalore as of late. We went here on a busy Saturday night, and were lucky enough to spot an empty table in one crowded corner. The first thing you notice about this place is its cool vibe. It's alive, thumping and the crowd is exciting. Have a look around and you will spot it beer brewing cauldrons, promising you that this one will be a good place to pack in a pint. Indeed, it was!
The drinks are top-notch, the food is yum. Service was busy, thanks to a packed house, but they made sure we were served in time.
Thumbs Up: This place is kicking! You'll love the feel of it; that is, aside from the drinks... :)
Thumbs down: Service can get slow if its a packed night. But its not really a deal breaker with this place.
Verdict: Try it once and you are sure to make your way to this place again and again.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to hang with a whole bunch of friends or just looking for a wonderful place to down a pint .
If I were to have a weakness, it would be Toit. I fell in love with the place the first time I visited, which was about a week after they opened. I try and make it a point to visit as often as I can, which roughly translates into about a couple of times a month.
I think their pizzas are amazing. Especially the Toit special. And I'm a sucker for their bacon wrapped food items (yes, they have a fair few).
I was quite disappointed by their chicken wings though, which were at best, average.
Unfortunately, the last time I visited them they had run out of my preferred poison, the Tintin Toit.
Can't help but notice how someone has lambasted the behaviour of the bouncers. While they have never had an issue with me or vice versa, I have noticed them being quite rude to some other folk.
I have been visiting toit atleast once a week (sometimes even 3 times) for the past 3-4 months. However, once we were not allowed to enter. The bouncer in the entry gate said entry closed at 10:30. when i told him its 10:00 and not 10:30, he said its his wish. in front of me some 20 odd ppl entered. when i asked again he said he won't allow and its wish and even got abusive.
A pathetic experience at a place visited so frequently.
Valet parking thieves
Funny thing we discovered after a couple of visits. The boys who valet park steal stuff from your car, beware! I keep a box of loose change for beggars on the street, etc. I was shocked to learn that our man had carefully skimmed through the collection, and whacked all 5 and 10 rupees coins off it...the last time I had noticed similar, along with a scratch on the rear bumper, but kind of imagined my car washer to be the culprit...this time it's confirmed that it's TOIT..thought I should spread the word...don't give your car for valet parking if you really value it!
March 8, 2012response from management at Toit:
Very sorry to hear this. Could you please email your license plate number to firstname.lastname@example.org ? This will help us identify the valet driver in question..
just too goooood
my weekend was the best i had.me and a few friends visited TOIT for the first time, and boy it was amazing.hats off to the guys who handle the food, especially the steak(the best i have had,and i do travel a lot),and the bbq chicken pizza was ummm.will sure visit again when in bangalore.the drinks and ambiance were superb.would it be possible to meet your head chef please.keep TOIT rocking, great place..anslim
Pathetic service & rude Management
We went on last friday & we will been told to sat on ground floor on the outside section where the music is not audible & the guy who call himself the manager is sucks...
we ordered 2 long island ice tea : 2 margaritas : potato wedges: and what we got was out of the blues... and after changing the drink, we got it in our bill... was double... phew.... disgusting is the word.. so first of all dont go to this place & if somehow u droppin always check ur bill , coz to make money they can put anything on ur bill
Beers Ok and Music Pathetic
We went to this pub after they opened microbrewery and expected a lot of change from the last time. However, the beers were just ok felt more like water and then, the music was pathetic. It was so loud that I had to shout my order out. If I compare this to The biere club, that one is much better both in terms of beer quality.
Wonderful place, best pub in city
Toit definitely can be the best pub in the city. Everything's perfect here, the ambiance, the crowd the food & drinks and the value for money is just awesome. Staying in Indira Nagar, this has become our regular hangout. Awesome place to watch some beautiful people, and to hog like crazy at great values.
Keeping my identity undercover, with a full grown beard and a longing heart I decided to check out the self proclaimed first microbrewery in town that started serving its own (house made) beers atleast 6 months after the actual first one surfaced in namma Bengaluru.
So at 'Toit' one quiet Monday evening, greeted eagerly by the lady at the reception, was asked if i'd liked to be seated on the more 'happening' 2nd floor.. which i intended to anyway. My agenda was to see the progress the Microbrewery industry in Bangalore had made. It took the government a lot of time and persuasion to issue out these licenses and hence the additional drama. I'v always wondered why, particularly in Bangalore that there is absolutely no sense of understanding how modern cities work (with reference to timings and licenses). Coming back to the subject of interest, I was given a food menu and a bar menu. Having scanned the bar menu, i found or rather didn't find the micro brewed beers, Bit strange isn't it ??? On being asked, I was given a menu. Without any hesitation I asked the server to bring me small sips (or should i say nips) to taste and make a choice, 'It will be charged' he said rather disgruntled, keeping the tonality in mind I replied, I can afford to (and brought out my fake laugh) !!!!
There were 7 beers on the menu, Toit Basmati Blonde, Tintin Toit, Toit Weiss, Toit Rye, Toit Red, Colonial Toit, Dark Knight. Good start, I must say. A nice feel to the name of the beers and a simple tasting note along with the alcohol content and the suggested food to munch along with the beers. Full marks to the thought process. These few minutes and first impression (well almost first impression) got me intrigued and was surely anticipating the same impact if not similar. That was the last of the goodness.. the standards set were rather high to live up to completely, firstly only 4 out of the 7 were available, almost all beers were lacking the fizz, were almost warm and certainly unidimensional in the flavour profile. Not that i'm a connoisseur, but i have been drinking enough (or should i say tasting enough) to prefer beers that are more rounded on the palate, and in general i feel more acceptable.
Tintin Toit as the name suggested was very frail in body had strong coriander notes and was very diluted on the palate. The German Weiss had a typical banana nose and almost spiced palate but did not live up to my Indian expectations, the Germans hopefully don't drown in shame. The Colonial English Ale lived up to its characteristic bitterness but failed to tingle any aspect of beer drinking pleasure. The Red Ale, crisp, light and definitely red, was probably the most drinkable. I certainly was looking forward to the Rice and the Rye beers or even the Stout, may be the next visit should have a better impact given possible teething issues.
All in all as of now totally "Hoity 'Toit'y"
Horrible place unless you want to drink and dance
This place is just for people who may be interested in drinking and dancing. Food is really bad, mock tails taste like sugar syrup.
We tried multiple items, both appetisers as well as main course. Pretty much everything is uniformly bad. Waiters don't have any idea. We ordered a pitcher and they brought whole things in a single large glass with multiple straws and waiters refused to bring additional glasses.
Music is so loud, they'll can't even hear your neighbour unless you shout and after a while you just want to leave and run.
Won't recommend anybody to go there unless you just want to get drunk, have serious amount of money to get drunk.
Awesome Food, Great Music and Heady Cocktails
The name Toit - I gathered from their website, implies 'full tight' or tipsy/sloshed.
Leaning on pillar no 62 of Namma Metro, the founders of Toit decided to quit their nine to five jobs to give Bengaluru a brewpub. The beer is not quite brewing yet but they promise to serve hand crafted beer soon. Till then they call themselves a pub serving great food.
Toit is a refreshing change to the pub and restaurant scene in Bangalore. Huge airy split-level space with four separate sitting zones. Enjoy a pub atmosphere, or that of a restaurant in the family enclouser, or catch up with friends in the lounge-like area, or move to the open-air smoking zone. The brick walls and dark wooden furnishing, combined with the high-ceiling and good lighting give it the look and feel of an old world pub.
A bunch of friends and I visited this place on a Saturday evening. The place was filling up fast. Luckily, we had made a reservation.
The menu listed interesting cocktails. We ordered a pitcher of Green Apple Mojito (green apple slivers in white rum, crushed ice and mint) and a glass of Long Beach Iced Tea (vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triple sec, lime, cranberry juice). The quantity of Mojito in the pitcher was more than generous. The alcohol quotient was high in both the cocktails - left us feeling quite merry!
The food menu is pretty varied. We tried the Barbecued baby corn. It was simply awesome - spicy, tangy and crisp. Complemented the drinks beautifully. Next, we ordered Mexican Bhel - nachos in cheese sauce and veggies. Turned out to be a regular fare.
For main course, we tried the wood-fire thin crust Veggie Attack pizza. Baked-to-perfection pizza with a load of assorted veggies and cheese. However, I think it could have been spiced up a bit - it was rather bland. But the quantity in terms of size was large.
Next on the list, we tried the veg Moussaka (a Greek dish filled with veggies, topped with a creamy bechamel sauce and baked to a golden brown). This dish was perfect - not too dry or soggy, delicate subtle flavor and the bechamel sauce was sinfully creamy. Decent portions again, however I wish they served us some garlic bread as an accompaniment. We ordered it separately (and reminded the person serving us about it a couple of times) and it was finally served along with the dessert - by which time we had devoured the Moussaka! Says something about their service on a weekend....more on that bit later.
The star on the table was the dessert. Called Toit Special, its a sinful rich chocolate layered cake - we counted about 7 layers - and is served flambéed. Absolutely yuuuuummmmm! This dramatic end to a signature meal (Toit's own words) was dramatic alright. Garlic bread with Toit Special! And the confused waiter had absolutely no clue what he was doing. Added to this - the waiters were huddled in groups and seemed more busy gossipping than serving the guests.
On a Saturday night, understandably Toit is bursting at the seams with diners, but they just cannot manage the crowd. They still need to go a long way in terms of providing efficient service.
In spite of poor service, I would still recommend Toit. Good music, great crowd, a fun place to catch up with friends over drinks (excellent cocktails) and good food to compliment the drinks.
I pass by Toit everyday as it is on my way home. I saw good crowd there even on weekdays so out of curiosity i went there on Halloween day (31st Oct). Must say I loved the place. The ambience, crowd and service were all very good. I checked out the review only on the next day and thankfully all those points mentioned in the negative reviews did not happen to me. The valet, bouncer and the staff were all very good and courteous though i went alone. So the "Stags not allowed" policy that I have seen in several other places in Bangalore was not there. I also appreciate that the management has actually responded to quite a few negative reviews and apologise or gave their side of the story for whatever happened. That is a good indicator of customer focus.
Overall the place was great. The Halloween party was enjoyable and I found it to be a lively place with good food, good crowd and catering to all kinds of customers (singles, groups, families, smokers, non smokers, etc). I certainly recommend it with both thumbs up !!
ranges from good to GOOD
The question is; what does toit mean?
- crowded, must advance book
- nice multi-level restaurant, each having a slightly different look and feel
- note: pitchers come with multiple straws, so do not order for it if you're not the glass sharing kinds
- tasty food, especially the barbecued baby corn for the veggies
- good sauces served with starters
- they even serve Greek food!
- very tasty desserts, the servings are HUGE
- a little heavy on the pocket
Food @ TOIT
Am not much of a drinker and not even by social standards, so I always check out the food served at bars, lounges, pubs etc! Now talking about TOIT, I guess most Bangaloreans love the place, simply because it offers so much to everyone's type!
As a foodie - I really love their menu, its finger food, its meal time food and basically it good good stuff!
2) Their Barbeque Babycorn - amazing stuff
3) Beef Burger - juicy patty and a nice portion at that to make you feel good about a burger meal
4) Their chicken wings - if finger food at pubs dont get their chicken wings right - then it aint no place to be called a pub! Again, they got it right!
great ambiance, nice beer and average food
We had an hour kill and were looking for a different place near CMH / 100 ft road to have some early evening chilled beer and found Toit.
Good location with valet parking. Great ambiance though there is lots of construction noise from the ground floor where I guess the micro brewery is coming up. It is a huge place with lots of room. I think the first floor has a dance floor.
We got a table of choice immediately. We were hoping to taste some nice brews from the microbrewery but were little disappointed to know it was still not ready. We settled for some Indian lagers. The first set of bottles we got were not so chilled. Ordered for chicken wings and got them almost after 20 mins and they were cold. I hoped for some chilled beer and hot wings :(
We repeated the beers and asked for really chilled ones and we were not disappointed this time. We didn't try another other starters since the chicken wings were not impressive. They were cold and slightly sweet.
Overall a decent place to hangout with friends or family. Service definitely needs improvement and also the choice of beers.
If you like your better chilled you need to ask for it.
I would love to revisit the place once the microbrewery is open and hoping to see better service.
Have money will spend !
Toit seems to have taken Indira Nagar by storm..Metro or no metro this place was buzzing with people of the right kind this last saturday...But yeah get your reaons to go there right...
Go for the eye candy not for the booze...There Ice tea is more like coke with tequila ...and the glass sizes vary on the wims of the bar keep.
Go there after a few shots at home..to save on the moolah and still have a good time.
Go for the pizza....stone oven pizza's possibly the best on this side of the world...
in closing definetly a place to go to....as long as you have your reasons in order.
I landed up at Toit when it opened a few months ago and no one knew about it. And now its buzzing! And justifiably so...the interiors are spacious and you feel comfortable even just standing around. The drinks are good (esp if you are around the bar) and so is the delicious Pepperoni pizza! Quality of staff (starting with the guard & valet guy) could be better, but overall, this is possibly one of the better additions to Indranagar in recent times!
Great place, good music and awesome service!!
I absolutely LOVE this place! I live very very close to TOIT and somehow find myself here on weekdays and weekends! The Bar area is generally where my friends and I like to hang out and its always been such a pleasure going here! The Food is EXCELLENT! The Chicken Piccata is my personal favourite! Its absolutely to die for! There is always such a nice vibe in this place, with the liveliness of the bar and watching the pizzas being made from scratch (which are delicious!) and good music, food and booze.. I always come out feeling very happy! Thank you for a wonderful time always! :)
I visited Toit on a weekday so didn't have much trouble in finding a table for a group of 4. Once i entered i just loved the way they had done up the place. Great ambience and good music too.
Coming to the food we ordered pizzas and a couple of beers. The pizzas to our surprise was dry you could still see the flour on the base and it was slightly burnt, least expected when they are priced at 400 or so...
Visit the place for the ambience and maybe the drinks, but they are definitely overpriced for the kind of food and service they offer.
Great ambience but average food
Went in for lunch place was empty. Hardly any one at least in the ground floor.
2 of us had fish N chips. Decent quantity and just above average. Third member ordered Pasta Marinara. Abysmal quantity, barely covered the bottom of the plate and just about edible. May be they should use smaller plates. Just had beer it was cold enough. Service was reasonable but with the place empty it ought to be. Took ages to get our food. Valet parking took forever to get my car back, considering that there must have been no more than 4 or 5 cars wonder what happens at nights and week ends.
Great ambiance and decor but could do a bit of redecoration by putting a opaque glass side to the steps leading up to 2nd floor. The way it is now girls walking up to 2nd floor can be leched with out any effort. The barman and bar waiters can look up and tell you the color of the Pxxty. Just needs one drunk lech and one jealous boyfriend to bring this place down.
Toilets were clean.
Was not too bad overall but will not visit again if I am paying.
U Are Not Welcome Sign should be there....
I went to this place... the valet guy itself said there is no place (so don't come in), then anyhow I said let me check, when I went in the lady standing there to welcome did not even bother to look. I went to her and asked if we could get tables she said `its full', and that was that. At least they should tell you let me see or you have to wait nothing she started looking the other way round.
I left... the valet guy was so sure I will come back that he did not even park my car. This was my second visit.. I now don't even want to know whats inside.
August 1, 2011response from management at Toit:
Hi Ajay. Were you here after 9pm on a friday or saturday? We tend to get really packed on these days, so its best if you make a reservation and get here early. Apologies if the valet or receptionist were rude though, that is not acceptable, and I will speak to them about this. Hope you will reconsider and chose to visit us again soon.
Nice Place ... Lousy Music ... Poor Service
it was a nice change to have TOIT open in our neighbourhood. I used to visit French Q there often especially for their desserts. though the ambience is nice, they need to invest money on a DJ. Most of my friends refuse to accompany me to TOIT due to the poor choice of music playlist especially on a Saturday. Normally starts of well but someway down the line it just looses. So I am forced to go to extreme sports bar most of the time. the other aspect is the service, always seems to be understaffed. takes a while to get an order and those days when it does come early the food might be cold! I hope it can survive once the hype of the place dies down ... wonder when the brewery is opening up ... wud be a crowd puller for a short while ...
Good Food, Pathetic Service
The food is very very delicious and I will definitly go back to try out more of it. The drinks are decent.
The service is terrible. We did not get a table for the whole 2hrs we were there. We had hang out on some open area and order for food. The floor manager said that there was no system of reserving a table. It has 3 floors and it was quite disappointing that there was no table booking.
July 18, 2011response from management at Toit:
Glad you liked the food! If you plan to visit us over the weekend, please call well in advance and make a reservation. We take bookings only for the second floor (smoking & non smoking sections), and leave the ground & first floors for walk-in guests. Also, we close reservations at 8pm on weekends, so do come in early. Am sure you will see a marked improvement in service once you are comfortably seated!
crap in a nice box sells
I live just around the corner from toit, I see their crowds, the line outside the door, even the unruly bouncers whose only job should be to tell someone that the place is full. I've been into toit several times, my regular liquor shop is next door. The drinks and the ambiance are about the two reasonable things there. Not good mind you, reasonable, the drinks are alright(although old wrinked fruits jammed at the edge of my glass doesn't make it look any better), and the decor is nice.
Now heres the lowdown. The food is crap. Several of my friends have raved about the pizza here. I've tried it twice, while the first time was average, the second was just awful. I left it less than half finished to which the waiter asked me nothing, even when I said I did not want to take the rest with me. The waiter's claim of checking that the vegetables were indeed fresh was completely bogus, having worked in a restaurant and gone here with my mother who has a lifetime of experience with food, we were disgusted to see some very sorry looking vegetables who by the looks of it had either a)been cut the previous morning and been sitting out since then or b)were pickled in brine(which was my first thought, having confirmed from the waiter that this was not the case). The pasta with blue cheese has a sprinkling of blue cheese that probably gives a couple bites of blue cheese flavor while the rest looks like a can of green spinach soup has been poured over some (i must admit) nice fettuccine. The country salad which supposedly has bacon on it, has 'bacon bits' on it, or a small piece of fried bacon grated till it doesn't much exist. The potatoes on the salad were underdone, cut too large and tasteless. Being billed in excess of a 1000 rupees on average for a meal this miserable is a real no brainer. VETO! If you're just looking to get some drinks with friends and you don't get booted out by the bouncer or mind paying 350 rupees a drink then try their long island iced tea. Its the sole redeeming feature to date. But I think never again.
July 5, 2011response from management at Toit:
Hello. You've pretty mercilessly shot down some of the dishes we are actually very proud of. Since you live nearby, would you consider dropping in one of these days again? If you could give us the opportunity to serve you again, we will try our best to make sure you have a much better culinary experience next time around.
I liked this place until i had the worst experience ever a few days ago. I took my family there for dinner and my dad ordered a grilled fish, when it came the fish was slightly under cooked so he asked the waiter to get the chef to cook it a little more. In the meanwhile everyone else's food arrived but the fish still hadn't come back from the kitchen after all of us had finished our food we noticed a waiter bringing back the fish from the kitchen but instead of coming to our table he took it to another table. Here of course is the kicker... the table he took it to had ordered pork...but none the less took the fish (let's not forget my dad had already taken a bite out of the fish before sending it back). Finally, it was almost an horu since we had sent the fish back and there were no sign of it coming back so we asked the waiter what had happened, to which he responded saying "actually we gave your fish to the other table" and promptly walked off. No signs of an apology or offering to replace the dish. Finally my dad just asked for the bill and not to his surprise at all they had charged him for the fish only when he reminded the waiter that he was being charged for a dish he didn't eat did the wait go in to a huddle with a manager and then consequently send across another waiter who asked if he could get my dad a dessert!! A little late realisation in my opinion. Overall terrible service and I believe the manager/owner was standing right beside us when all of this went down.
This Friday i went to TOIT when we were about to enter the bouncer tell couples only, then i tell him i have been here last Friday , then he says how many of us are there i say five he asks where they are i say on their way...then bouncer tells us ok we can manage something i was puzzled ...THEN HE ASKS FOR TIPS AND SAYS WITHOUT THAT HE WONT ALLOW US INSIDE.
This is shocking i have been to almost all the pubs in Bangalore nowhere in last 5 years i have faced this kind of situation.
If the TOIT management wants only good looking girls and couples why don't you people say this so that we are not troubled.
I've been to Toit before and it is a nice place..
However, yesterday this happened:
1. I come to Toit with another guy to catch our friends who are already inside (for a friend's birthday).
2. The tall 6'3 rude fellow at the door says no stags. We told him there are women from our group already inside. He says call them.
3. Two of our female friends come out to get us. He says cool, we can enter.
4. The tall fellow suddenly pushes me in (like i'm a primary school student) saying "go in, go in" and stops my friend outside. I'm puzzled by all this and so are my friends.
5. He tells my friend something and lets him in. My friend comes in all puzzled.
6. He told my friend that apparently I do not "look" like I was with them.
7. We were trying to figure out what the hell he meant by that, but since it was a friend's birthday, I decided to let it pass
So, can you please ask that prick what the hell he meant by that? I am really curious.
I am a Bangalorean. I have seen all what it's been offering in terms of restaurants / pubs / other spaces. This kind of attitude I've come across for the first time ever. And Boca Grande is also a good place - none of this shit.
I would not waste my time even reporting anything trivial. This doesn't seem trivial. This kind of misbehaviour is provocative, highly insulting, obscene, irritating, unwarranted and a lot of other things. If it wasn't my friend's birthday, we would've come up and complained to you right then. Just didn't want to spoil his birthday.
Anyways, thought I'll just let you'll know. I'm not sure if you'll care or not.
June 19, 2011response from management at Toit:
We definitely do care, and we apologize for the bouncer's behaviour. We have instructed these guys to do a certain amount of screening at the entrance, and this is only to prevent unwanted elements from entering and causing trouble, certainly not the case here. There is no excuse for what happened to you, and rest assured, he will be taken to task for this.
Love the place except for one aspect.....
TOIT has everything going for it right now.....great ambience; good food; interesting and fantastic drinks; good music! But one thing they must seriously work on is their customer service-----the waiters are grouchy and refuse to smile----so much so as they are borderline rude. Or do they get overwhelmed with big crowds???---i dunno.....and once this phase of people wanting to check out this place wears off; of crucial factor that will make them come back is the service---which most of the staff need a crash course in it seems!
