Consistently Good Food and Music!!

Used to go there quite regularly( at least once a week) but wasn't able to for the last month. So when I got the chance to eat there again I was glad to find that the food was still as good as before! So was the music.

The chicken picata, being my favourite, is a must try! The chicken pepper steak, which my friend ordered, is also tasty having great value for money as it is quite filling! To finish my heavily satisfying meal, I ordered the panacotta which was very much to my liking as it wasn't too sweet or heavy! :)

Great Food at Affordable Prices! :)

I go almost every 2 weeks to the JP nagar outlet with my colleagues and I am happy to say I've never been disappointed! the food has been consistently good with some very interesting items on the menu! Personally the chicken steak and the picata are a must try! One of the best parts of having a meal at Veekes and Thomas is the music! Love the selection of songs! All in all, its a great place to eat or hang out with family or friends! :)

Ok Restaurant

In 1st A cross there are many restaurants that you cannot find, that you don't know exist. In all that chaos, we heard about Veeks and Thomas a lot and so one afternoon went there. Menu outstanding. Perfect for Koramangala. But, I wasn't overly happy with my Ratatouille. It was tangy sorta like a tamatar vegetable dish with rice.... It did taste good, but Not really like Ratatouille should. With my friends, they loved their dishes except for the pasta that was a little overcooked.

Nothing Like it Used to Be

Perhaps all good things do come to an end...

Have been here multiple times but this time (after a long gap) it was an underwhelming experience.

The Lasagna was possibly the worst I have ever tasted. The fish in lemon butter sauce was OK. jalapeno poppers were good but the peri peri chicken skewers were chewy. Chicken stroganoff wasn't very good either.

Average Food...Not Really Great

Visited this restaurant during Diwali after reading some positive reviews. We were handed the menu cards and while ordering the waiter told us that they only have pasta as part of the "Diwali offer". We ordered tempura for starters and were disappointed as it was extremely oily. The pasta was good. For dessert we ordered Tiramisu and this was by far the worst Tiramisu that we ever tried. Overall, food is about average.

Great Sunday Brunch With Live Music

Great Sunday afternoon with an unexpected session of live bands including one that played a digaridoo. The buffet was a surprise too and was great value for money at Rs 199. The restaurant was packed by an appreciative audience that sank in queen, beatles and eagles with toasted chicken Portuguese and herbed rice. I vote for it becoming a regular feature on weekends.

AMAZING (as always)

Veekes and Thomas has been standing up to their reputation for quite some time now. Just recently I had a loaded potato skins as a starter and a ravioli for the main course and let me tell you they were both DELICIOUS, so delicious I had to come here and write a review about em' . Good service and definitely my kind of music, lovin' every bit of it for the past few years (including the prices). Keep it up (you better!). My favourites- The two stated in the review, Chicken Stroganoff, Shepherds Pie, Spanish Leg Roast, The salads are great, the risottos etc. etc.

Heavily Indianized "European" food, slow service

The food is anything but European. They do have a poster on the wall saying they offer "Indianized" European food, but we didn't know to what extend it was so.

The food took a very long time to arrive, almost an hour! The food wasn't bad, but wasn't European by any measure. There was just too much Oregano to the point of making you sick, in everything. We couldn't actually taste the flavour of the food due to the overpowering oregano. It was in the lasgna, stuffed chicken, and basically all dishes we ordered.

Have to add, the menu is fairly prized.

Good Friends, Good Food, Good Times

My first experience with VNT was take out, which in hindsight is probably not a great way to 'test the waters' so to speak. I had planned on dining in to give it another chance and very glad I am that I did! I am happy to report that I am eating my words. Along with VNTs delicious food I might add ;) We've been here quite a few times already and this review was pending. I guess I can't really add anything to what others have already mentioned here. The food has always been great - my favorites are the Chicken Piccata, Lasagna, Steak and the Pastas. I do like their in-house ice creams. The decor is average but that's not what you're going there for. It is not a fine dining kind of place. No valet parking, flashy decor or haughty servers here. You go here if you're simply in the mood for good tasty italian. You just want some comfort food at comfortable prices. Service: Never had any issues so far. Staff are well mannered and the service is fairly quick. I have also been to their 3-in-one concept restaurant off Bannerghatta Road, the review of which I had posted under Raga. The concept is very good. However in terms of execution there seem to be hiccups (I've been looking to order from the KW menu for weeks now but have given up). I hope they can sort it out soon. Anyway, the VNT food there was great too (the menu there seems to be a subset of the full VNT menu though). I hear they're expanding rapidly which is great and a good sign. As long as the essence of what makes it 'it' remains the same. So unless you've been living under a rock (which given the real estate prices in Bangalore may actually be possible), you have probably heard of this place. If you havent tried it yet, you're missing out.

Affordable Italian

Veekes and Thomas is our favorite joint when our taste buds cry out Italian. Their attention to detail on small things like making sure the mashed potatoes are hot and fluffy and not grainy is noteworthy. One small concern I have now is that after having been there some 5 or 6 times, now it feels as though there is nothing more to try out there. :) Probably time for them to expand their repertoire.

Same quality food with ever increasing prices

This is one restaurant which as a record increases the prices of its food EVERY TIME you order food from them , quality has not changed sometimes the food is not as well cooked, the baked potatoes tasting grainy like they haven't been washed properly , over cooked....the ratatouille with just a thick goop of gravy and unrecognizable veggies . The food is not always bad but that's isn't a license to keep hiking all the time. This is by no means a CHEAP restaurant as the burrp review indicates, no one can have a decent meal in less than 600 for two more if you are non vegetarian . They started off as people providing good Italian fare in affordable prices but somewhere down the line they got too popular...and now though nothing gets better...the prices keep increasing..I have menus to prove it... Every time they deliver my food , i make an estimate based on the menu I have and the total always comes up much higher and then they hand me a new menu with higher prices...and this has gone on and on for the last one year or so since I discovered this place...Its not done.

Love revisiting this place

Thank you for this chain of low priced continental cuisine . I love your chefs , they are accurate with the taste of each plate .
I am waiting eagerly to see the kongwang kitchen open , the menu looks very inviting.
Maybe you can try having beer on your menu apart from wine , i am sure this will be a welcome change for all veekes and thomas food lovers .
The lounge at Raga , availability of light beer , the lovely food , and the big TV will make it a great place to sit an watch a nice match
What do you think :)

Great Food.

VnT JP Nagar, is that small, comfy place where I go for an afternoon lunch on a lazy weekend. The thought of a quiet and tasty lunch is the only reason good enough for me to be coerced out of my lazy saturday afternoon mode and visit this place. Where consistency in taste, service and ambience converges, I think this is the right one. I love this place because of the fact that it is tucked away, from the busy city traffic and bustling crowd. Now that I have moved to a different part of the city, VnT JP Nagar is the only thing I miss around my new locality. Will be visiting soon. Lazy me says, hopefully, it would still be worth the drive.

September 8, 2012response from management at Veekes and Thomas:

Hi Ajay,

Congratulations on your new branches, especially the one in Cochin. The city could learn a thing or two about good food from your kitchen.

Goodluck and Best Regards.

Disappointed!

This review is for the Bannerghata road outlet which also houses the raga and kongwang brands.I have been a VnK loyalist since the time they had opened their first kitchen in the by-lanes of JP Nagar, have recommended and referred them to people staying halfway across the city.I am not only disappointed with the experience I had there yesterday but also by the fact that I have lost on a trusted place , which I loved to frequent.

Had never visited the Bannerghatta road outlet so decided to visit yesterday over dinner. The first thing which strikes you about this place is the size and ambiance specially compared to other VnK outlets. It is big and nicely done. The experience started on an off note when the waiter suggested me to try the sweet corn soup.Come-on !!!!! its veeks and thomas and I do not expect the waiters to suggest me sweet corn soup at least in a place like this. I mean what happend to the whole experience where people with similar tastes loved and hogged over deliciously cooked home style european food ??? Sweet corn soup and chicken tikka somehow totally dilutes that whole experience, mindset, which one conjures up before coming to VnK. The waiters are inept, hardly can they understand or suggest the items on the menu.Nevertheless we expected the food to make up for all this and ordered a chicken steak and a mustard chili noodles. While the stake was okayish the noodles turned out disastrous. My wife is a Manipuri and me a bengali, the use of mustard and chill in this particular style, belongs more to bengal rather than Manipur. The dish somehow lacked innovation and tasted as if the chef had dunked in some mustard paste and chillies as an afterthought while making his staple noodles.
The deserts has always been good there and we decided to order the chili chocolate ice cream and the caramel custard. The ice cream came in first and was good with just the right hint of chilli flakes. The caramel custard, when arrived was unrecognizable. The appearance was that of a pongal with a smattering of some brown bits and pieces on top.On querying what had happend to the custard the waiter barely muttered something which loosely translates to "it is like this only".The best was yet to come, as he seemed to take it away to return again in 5 minutes with the same plate without offering any reason or explanation.A simple explanation like "We are sorry the custard hasn't turned out as expected so can we serve you another desert" should have sufficed. For the next few minutes neither of the waiters were to bee seen and probably, had holed up in the kitchen. Finally got hold of one and asked him to cancel the order and take it back , which was done.Little did we know that the ordeal hasn't ended yet.The card machine wasn't working and the waiters didn't even bother to inform us , so had to walk all the way out and pay the bill.
While I was leaving , met Ajay Thomas who as usually greeted and shook hands.Somehow did not share this with him as the damage was already done and was sorely upset at that point.

All said and done, Veeeks and thomas was probably the only place which I had so strongly lobbied for in my reviews ,between friends and family and it is sad to see it changing.Being a seasoned foodie i would like to give them couple of advices
a) Do not dilute the brand by including raga and kwongwang. The good thing about Veeks and Thomas was the entire experience , which started right from using eco friendly materials to whipping up delicious meals in a very ambiale and friendly environment.
b) Once you scale up the business , do ensure that the food and the menu is scaled up to match the same. What was delightful in a small friendly cafe might loose its appeal in a fine dining setup.

Food okay - but is it really Italian??

I've had food ordered on a few occasions, but I feel this is basically Indian food passing by as Italian. Adding dollops of cheese on Pongal or pulao will not turn it to Italian riso. Italian food may be tagged as expensive, but probably when using traditional ingredients and preparation techniques. Anyway, this apart and setting your expectation accordingly, you will not be disappointed here.

Indianizing shouldn't imply "taking for a ride"

We (me and wifey) went to this new Veekes and Thomas restaurant that's opened on Bannerghatta road. It's actually a redone restaurant that used to be Raga.
Incidentally, we've been customers of Raga for 3 years now, and order food just about every other day from there. Raga is now 3 restaurants in one:
1. Raga, 2. Kongwang, 3. Veekes and Thomas
We were excited about the European and Far Eastern cuisines that Raga now claims to offer. To cut a long story short, here's what transpired tonite:
We go to Raga/Veekes and Thomas, and settle down. We look at the newly done menu, and decide to start off with a continental mushroom soup and some Jalapeno Poppers (fritters).
The cream of mushroom soup is served in a chai glass with spoons. Apparently this is their idea of Indianizing the thing. We aren't impressed, but nevertheless giggle at the innovation.
We wait for the jalapeno fritters. They do arrive, with imly chutney! We take a few bites. Where are the jalapenos, I say. All I can taste is a whole lot of red chilli flakes mixed with alu mash. Thankfully, there is some cheese, even if it be there for the namesake.
I decide to call and ask the waiter. He calls a person, who claims to be the chef. The so-called-chef is a well-built, muscular guy who seems to have come to the table with the single intent to argue and intimidate. He's super rude, has an aggressive body language, and uses a very wrong tone with me. He tells me this is Indianized European cuisine, and I should have read about Thomas and Veekes before commenting!
I agree, I didn't know about the Indianizing part, but does Indianizing imply that you remove the Jalapenos from a dish called Jalapeno Poppers? I ask the chef this, and this enrages him further. He tells me I can keep my comments and views to myself. I tell him: Then there's no use talking in the first place. :)
Five minutes later, the waiter comes and apologizes profusely. Meanwhile, another funny incident happens. I see the so called chef sitting on a nearby table with a group of guys. I ask the waiter how come the chef is here. The waiter tells me that the guy is Ajay Thomas, the owner of Veekes and Thomas. ;)
I can understand a staff member being rude/inconsiderate, but I am disappointed to find that a hotel chain owner can be so indifferent and rude to his customers. After all, we are his business. Sorry to say, Mr. Thomas, but I was disappointed by your behavior tonite. The food isn't the worse that I have ever tasted, but the attitude certainly is.
Anyways, me and wifey rushed through the main course and paid the bill. Our day was already spoilt. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to guess that we didn't tip. :)
Regards,
Sumit
p.s. Wifey just reminded of the cracked rims on the glasses, and the pebble we got in our food. We have agreed to give them the benefit of doubt. May be this is part of the Indianization process.
Of course, the tagline for the restaurant continues to read, "Fine European Cuisine". :)

Loved the Food

It was good experience, had heard about it from a friend.I luv trying out food at different place with my friends. We had order Garlic Bread with cheese, the bread was fresh and soft. It tasted really good, had such a good garlic bread after a long long time.
Then we went for Ratatouille and Black Olives and Mushrooms(Risottos). Ratatouille was a bit tangy which i liked a lot, Risottos was equally good, creamy and flavors of herbs. In beverages we had ordered Peach Ice Tea and Kiwi Mint Soda, they had refreshing flavors. Ice tea had d taste of both tea n peach, neither one was dominating.
For desert we had Walnut Brownie it was good an soft but felt the serving was a nit less. A slightly bigger slice would have been much more appreciated.
Another thing which i would like to bring out is that there were few things like kookam flavored butter milk and Ice Cream, which seems to be a new thing on the menu, were not available. I hope to taste them on my next visit

But overall a good experience and would certainly recommend people who like good food to must visit the place. They have a good menu and lot of many different dishes to offer

at the jp nagar restaurant, the freezer went down for a few days which is why you may not have had the dishes you mentioned. this has since been rectified.
our desserts use real ingredients. it is easy to make a larger dessert using more flour or gelatin. the sizes become bigger but you dont end up eating cream, chocolate or cheese but a lot of flavoured flour. we decided to keep it small but real when faced with the choice. see you again sometime soon!

Yummy food and great service!

We ventured into this place after hearing a lot of things about it from a colleague at work. The ambiance and location is not something to write home about - but the food being the primary reason is definitely something to rant about...
We ordered the soup which comes in chai cups... and both of them were very tasty. We went for the mushroom and tomato basil... the tomato was perfectly tangy and mushroom was perfectly creamy... If I'd had to order again though... I'll go with the mushroom.
Next... we went for meal... my better half opted for basa fish with 5 spice sauce... now this is just overly spicey, not something I'd recommend... with every bite you get that overwhelming taste of mustard sauce/oil. I guess the Cajun fish is a better option.
My meal though (the stuffed chicken) was very nice.. All in all a great experience... Oh yes... and do go for the deserts.. caramel custard and tiramisu is what we opted for and it was super yummy!...

dear shirali, thatnk you for your very detailed feedback. ambience and location is able to keep costs down to manageable levels :). specifically the 5 spice sauce is tempered to suit the indian palate and is the balance on the menu to the lemon butter and cajun tempered fish dishes. you must try the lemon butter fish the next time you visit!

Excellent food!

Veekes and thomas is a place quite popular with the locals. The ambiance is appealing. The service is top notch.
Start off with croquettes, potato skins and bruschetta.
The main course is what will make your day and is highly recommended: Spanish leg roast, ratatouille.
The staff is courteous and friendly. This restaurant is now on my favorite list and I am coming back again.

Unfortunate first experience

So I have been reading reviews and responses from the management here for a while, and finally decided to pay a visit to the JP Nagar branch of V&T with my friend. It was pretty easy to find, turned out to be a very cozy place and we got a nice table for ourselves. We knew the prices were low and the food good, so I was looking forward to a fine lunch and a good outing.

We ordered two of their meals, comprising of a soup, starter, pasta, main course, and dessert, along with an additional Lasagne and a soda. Starters arrived first, they were delicious. Very excited about the rest of the meal, we proceeded to the soup. They arrived in "Chai cups", an attempt to imitate the chai that is sold in Railway Stations. Unfortunately this meant very hot soup in a thick glass cup, and while digging in to delicious soup, the bottom of my friend's cup shattered and spilled the whole of the piping hot soup all over her arm and legs. Shocked, she washed up while the waiters cleaned up the mess.

Unfortunately the waiters didn't utter a word, not an apology, offer to replace the soup, nothing. They just continued to bring the other dishes we ordered. We stood around for a minute, frustrated, asked for the manager. They pointed to someone and I told him what just happened. He said yes he saw it, and there was an awkward silence.

Not knowing what to say to prompt him to respond, I said we are leaving. We were shown the door. Now this really boiled our blood, not having received the response we were expecting. We walked back to the car with our stomachs grumbling, my friend still in shock and in pain.

I obtained the phone number listed on this website and called up the concerned person, and was redirected to his partner, whose response was to say "I don't know what to say". Now all we wanted was for someone to take charge and respond appropriately to the situation. So I said, "okay when you know what to say please call back" and cut the call.

In the meantime we took care of the burns on her hand and headed to a Subway to have lunch. We had eaten a light breakfast anticipating a sumptuous meal, so we were starving. Half an hour later we finally got a call from Ajay Thomas himself. Now we were very very angry, hungry, frustrated, with the incident and the response we received so far. Strong words ensued, which I regret. But in the end we were offered a free meal as per their company policy.

By then we had filled our stomachs, so in a better mood we accepted their standard offer. So now we are planning to pay a visit to them on Friday, hopefully this time the experience will make up for the very dissatisfying first visit, the food is too good for me to let go of the place. We plan to visit the Koramangla outlet this time, my friend is reluctant to go back to JP Nagar anytime soon.

I have rated the place purely based on what little we ate there this time, and with the expectation that the second time will be truly deserving of four stars, in terms of both food and service.

Not Bad!!

Well infact pretty good.
It is unique in that area and is not too expensive. I had been to the restaurant with my wife.
My take :
a) French onion soup (served in tea glass) was pretty spicy and my wife didnt like it. I was ok... I feel it was more spicy and less flavourfull (may be coz I was vegeterian).
b) Do not order Garlic bread if you are ordering a pasta as the pasta gets served with garlic bread anyway.
c) The grilled veg in honey mustard was pretty good... but it was not grilled much...

Overall.... I'm pleasantly surprised at the restaurant quality and will visit again.

Great Food and Easy on the Wallet

I have been a fan of Veekes and Thomas for sometime now. I've lost count of the number of times I've eaten here. From a small kitchen with four tables for dining, to the little cart in Jayanagar 4th block, to their first restaurant-type outlet in JP Nagar 7th Phase, I've seen them only grow from strength - to -strength. They are now open across seven locations in the city.

Last night, my family and I dined at their JP Nagar outlet. This is a cozy by-the-doorstep kind of a place. The ambience is warm, decor is basic and practical and the music is awesome (read Deep Purple, Rolling Stones and the likes).

For starters we had Grilled Onion Bruschetta. The bread was done just right, toppings tasty and juicy with the right amount of cheese. My daughter attacked her favourite Garlic Bread with Cheese, which was also very nice.

Moving on, we had Vegetable Steak and Ratatouille. The cutlet in the steak could have been spiced up a bit, however the delicious brown sauce topping made up. The flavour was very different from anything I have had before. And my daughter, who is a pretty fussy curd-rice/thair sadam type kid just loved it. The mashed potato served with the steak was delicately laced with herbs. Just yumm!

I ordered Ratatouille out of curiosity. This turned out to be herbed rice served with a tangy tomato sauce over sauteed zucchini, mushrooms and assorted vegetables garnished with basil. This platter came piping hot to the table, and I must say I was not at all disappointed. A very tasty dish, which is something inbetween oriental and European. The rice was delicately flavored and the gravy was rich and aromatic.

Next, we ordered a Lasagna. I was a tad disappointed as it was pretty dry and not at all cheesy.

One of their really good main course dish - Cannelloni, is not available anymore - another disappointment!

Desserts are pretty good, however the portions are pretty tiny.

V&T also home deliver in and around J.P.Nagar. When food is home delivered, the main course tends to get dry. So make sure you ask for some extra sauce. But I have to give it to them - how many restaurants actually deliver continental/europen food (albeit indianized) to your doorstep?

Overall, every visit to Veekes has been a good experience. Tasty food to suit the Indian pallet.

PS: I miss the eco-friendy plates (yele thatte) and bowls (donne) they initially used to serve food.

Veekes and Thomas delivers what they propose - "We aspire to do to continental cuisine what the Chinese from Calcutta did to Chinese food decades ago – highly Indianized, very affordable and easily available."

Highly recommend V&T for a quick , tasty and light-on-the-wallet meal.

Chandra Layout- good

This review is for the Chandra Layout branch since it's not listed on burrp yet. Liked the food and the pricing :) French Onion soup in a glass was good enough. Garlic bread with cheese is the best bread I've had so far. Loved the cheese-so soft, fresh and melt-in-the mouth. Spanish leg roast was above average and risotto was bad.

Loved the mini desserts section where each is priced at Rs.35! Where else can you get a Tiramisu or Mango cheese cake for Rs.35? Nice stuff.

I'd give this resto a 3/5. But it's nice & bold of them to have opened this little european restaurant in my part of the city :) So I'll add another star and make it 4. Keep it up.

Affordable food at the highest quality

Well I've been to Veekes and Thomas twice, once at their JP Nagar outlet and the other time at Residency Road. The one at Residency Road is small and the table size rather limits your number of orders which is sad. Because the items on the menu are so affordable that you really feel like trying out a number of them. We ordered the chicken crostini which was so good that we simply had to order one more. For the main course we had the basa fish in lemon and butter sauce. The flavours of lemon and butter combine brilliantly with the boneless fish to make it very delicious. My friend ordered the smoked sausage pasta. The smoked flavour makes this a must try. We didn't want to stop, so we ordered a chicken risotto with herbs and cheese. This was nice and sticky which is best eaten immediately when served hot. You may also want to add a few chilly flakes or pepper since this is rather bland for the Indian palate. On my other visit I also tried the portuguese chicken which looked a lot more appetizing than it tasted.

First Trial- Not up to the mark

Posting my first review on Burrp.

Had heard lot of good reviews about this restaurant and decided to try out on sunday along with my wifey and sister. My google map directed me straight to the JP nagar outlet.

Perhaps my expectations were too high. Bit surprised to see restaurant almost empty on Sunday night..may be it was late. The seating and decor is good and i like their style of serving water with mint leaves. However there were no spices /salt/pepper etc on table. Also as i am a pure vegetarian, the menu did not have lot of choices for me.
We orders garlic bread but were surprised to see only two pieces. I guess inflation has gone up much more than i realized and they have to cut down on portions to maintain their pricing...back to main theme
The garlic bread was ok, though it could have done with some more cheese.
Then we asked for Rice Balls but the waiter informed it was not available.
He suggested we try veg tempura. we ordered that along with Potato skins with herbs and mushroom/cheese filling. We were now prepared for budget portions.

I did not like the tempura..it was oil logged and too greasy for my liking. Also they need to put in more spices. The potato skins were better- but bland. Some salt would have made it good. I am a very light salt user (had High BP problem) and even then i felt they had forgotten to put in salt. Or maybe it's made that way only..Not sure ??
We also ordered Mushroom Veg soup. They serve soups in glass. I like this concept - very easy to drink. The soup again needed some salt but was ok.
The service is also mixed. The waiter who served us at the table was responsive but the others were not. We asked twice for water from other waiters but didn't get it.

I was still optimistic and wanted try out their pastas and main course. however given our experience till that time, my family was against trying anything else and we got out. So overall not a good experience.though i might visit again to try out their pastas and hopefully my opinion will get better. For now it's just 2 stars but that's my personal opinion. May be my taste buds and their style of preparation are not for each other.

I decided to drop by the Jp nagar restaurant with some friends and we can all say we weren't disappointed!! the starters ( bruschetta and potato herb skins) were the perfect beginning to the meal! the soups served in chai glasses were just yum. the chicken courses are out of this world! we oredered about 5 courses and all of them were so tasty!! :) the service is great too! i found the pricing reasonable too considering that the quality of food is really good. I will definitely go back there :) thanks!

Stale food

I will never ever go again and will not recommend anyone... The food is all stale which has been prepared who knows how many days back. Both me and my husband had food poisoning after having dinner there.... We ordered vegetable Lasgane and a cottage cheese dish, even potato starters were cold... nothing is cooked fresh... They boast of a great business plan, but extremely disappointed with the food quality... STALE, STALE.... never go there...

very surprised at your feedback. for one i must clarify that it is impossible that food is stale as it is prepared every day by a central kitchen and supplied to all 6 restuarants. most of our customers keep coming back because of the quality of our food!
second, even in that instance when you find food not to your satisfaction, you could always immediately bring it to the notice of your staff who will replace it.
apologies for your experience.

Not bad. Will not do take out/delivery though.

I love me some italian! So obviously I wanted to try VnT seeing all the great reviews. We were not in the mood to drive down there so we decided to order in. The food was ok but not outstanding in my opinion. To be fair now maybe my disappointment had a lot to do with the fact that it was delivery and the food wasnt piping hot. Pastas tend to dry out after being out for a while. MW'ing it didnt help. I may visit the restaurant and try the food right there before I make up my mind. So this review applies to delivery only (for the moment). Lasagna was dried out - not soft and 'saucy' like it should be. Also too indianized for my taste. Stuffed to the gills with onions. Chicken Piccata - the wine sauce was great but the chicken itself was very hard. Required some effort to break it down! Mashed potatoes were nice and creamy. Cilantro pesto pasta tasted great but could do with some more veggies. Also very dry (The highlight of a sauce based pasta is at the end where you use that piece of garlic bread to mop up the leftover sauce on your plate). Finally the olive and mushroom risotto - Awful. Did *not* like it at all! Extremely bland. Had to add a good deal of my own italian seasonings to wolf it down. All in all it was just average. The prices are reasonable. The packaging is good. Will not do delivery/take out again though.

October 1, 2011response from management at Veekes and Thomas:

thank you rpb. your feedback is to the point and perhaps the opinion of some customers to be honest. The food coming in a little crusty is to do with the packaging we adopt since we've until now said no to foil or plastic which retains heat. What we've recommended even on the delivery menu (or on our website where you can order online) is that you hydrate and microwave the dishes because heat isnt retained - a little effort to save you from collecting junk plastic/foil. Risottos are the worst affected on delivery and we will see what we can do

October 1, 2011response from management at Veekes and Thomas:

Thank you Mr. Thomas. It's always great to see owners actually taking note of customer feedback and striving to make changes. We will surely try it again and revert back. Regarding the taste - I understand. Authentic Italian would never work for the masses I suppose. *Most* of the folks who claim to have had authentic Italian are actually referring to the chain restaurants in the US which in fact have been adapted for the American palette. What they want is American-Italian :) Very few Indians would actually like the real deal. Anyway I digress

Unwelcome ingredients in the Sphagetti

Have been a fan of Veekes and Thomas for quite a while now. Good taste and reasonable prices have been the hallmark of this place. Have been ordering from their pre-restaurant days and the little details like eco-friendly packaging were always a major plus. The portions have been wholesome and pricing is attractive. (Kudos to the V&T team considering the rampaging inflation). Making 'elitist' food affordable and tasty is a great achievement of V&T.

Visited their JP Nagar restaurant with a friend this evening. Started with tomato basil and french onion soups. The French onion soup was too salty and the waiter replaced it for me. Tomato soup was great, especially in the cold Bangalore autumn. We also got some garlic bread. Tasted good, but the portions seemed to have reduced. (There were only two slices - somehow remember the portions being 4-6 slices).

We went with a spaghetti with vegetable balls. Tasted pretty good - that perfect mix of continental flavour and Indian spice. Portion was excellent as well. We were just about complementing ourselves on the order of the main course. We didn't over-order and were proud of our choice. Unfortunately, this is where the experience took a nose-dive.

To our horror we found a cockroach in the spaghetti. The waiter was apologetic and told us that we needn't pay for the meal and asked if we wanted anything else. We were too shocked to eat there at this point and walked out (we were exempted from paying though).

Some thoughts / suggestions - the restaurant manager was clearly furious and appeared to rush into the kitchen to take action. She was addressing the cause of the problem - great. But she did not bother to speak with us - those who suffered because of the problem. Of course, the waiter did apologise profusely - but considering the magnitude of the debacle more could have been done.

But then who is to say that in the many darishinis of the world if cockroaches (or their cousins) havent been served to us through idly/dosa batter or chutney, or in the gravy of Panneer Butter Masala - these things happen - or could they?

Will I recommend V&T or visit them again? - well, not until I am able to erase the memory of this unsavoury incident. But, never say never - I hope that the V&T management will take corrective action and regain the confidence of an old patron (yours truly). I genuinely hope that this happens - for now, V&T seems to be too good to be true - but I believe that good (in the way V&T does business) can only result in good if not better.

Thumbs down!

Considering the huge expectations I had based on reviews over here, I really thought I would be in for some real awesome Italian food. But I'm sorry to say, I was very disappointed. I felt the food was way too Indianized - the mushroom soup tasted more like Garlic soup, the bruschetta was awful, the veg. lasanga tasted a lot like a chapathi's side-dish cooked with cheese & lastly, even the chocolate mousse - seriously, it could've been at least A BIT bigger than the size of a 5-star chocolate!!

PS - This is my first review on Burrp too..and I'm not comparing this one with any other restaurant. As someone who has tasted ACTUAL Italian food, I'm just expressing my sheer disappointment. Congratulations to you guys on doing very well all over, and having a lot of people like your place, but there are folks like me too, who dislike it.

expensive and slightly overrated

I agree with one of the reviews that the food did not turn out as mentioned in the menu. And the portions are small for the price now they are charging. I would request Burrp to raise the price to 2 stars if not 3 because a meal costs much more than 200/-
Besides I am absolutely not happy about the packaging costs which is Rs.15 per pack which is charged on the pretext that ALL joints charge either delivery or packing, which is not true. I was doing a take away btw.
Agreed, the food is good but that doesn't mean you can overprice, lower the portions and charge heavy packaging too.

New hide out on Sarjapur Road

V & T is on Sarjapura road, So was there on Tuesday along with a group of friends. It is on the 2nd floor of a building , bang opposite a bata. There is a Sonakshi's The dhabha whihc is there on the 1st floor. They also have a tie up with a chinese place from JP nagar, so Veekes and Thomas also has a Chinese menu section.

We ordered a Onion Bruschetta, it was nice with a mild taste of wine in which the onions were roasted in. My freinds ordered BBQ chicken which according to them was nice, it though reminded us of Satay.

Main course was
1. Sheperds Pie- Per my friend,The best sheperds pie he has eaten in Bangalore.
2.Stuffed Chicken- In a mildly tempered sauce -tasted nice.
3.Chicken Piccata- Tasted nice but was a little too non spicy.
4.Chicken and Olive Rissoto- Stayed up its reputation of being a balnd dish
5. Cottage Cheese Piccata- My first tryst with this dish - so it tasted nice - cant judge if it was authentic(thankfully was not called panner piccata).
Overall the food quality is still up there. This being a larger restaurant , think about 60 covers should not get crowded easily. The whole place has a nice feel to it.
And for 5 us the tab just came to 800, so that was super awesome.

I loved the pasta - even better than Little Italy by a long shot. But I was disappointed in the caramel custard - no, no, not the taste but the portion size offered for the price. The texture was not right either. I was quite shocked to see this is what's offered for 45/-!

Having said that, I have pasted the menu on my fridge and will order in again soon.

all i can say in our defence is that

INR 45 includes tax that we pay the government and considers a slightly more elaborate process of making. It used to be INR 35 + tax when we started, many moons ago, a price point that we have retained for our other desser

just not about food

i am old school, i would say. love sinatra, love neil diamond, and even love pink floyd and led zepellin. and to hear all of them together while the oft forgetten traditional aglio olio in a quaint antiquated restaurant in koramangala was just heavenly. the caramel custard is to kill for and @ 35, made me have 2 :). my italian friend said that the peanut and cilantro pesto was unique in its ingredient and compared to the best. the bill 320 for 2 pastas and 2 desserts! wow.

Changed for the worse

Disappointed as i write this review. I have been ordering at Veekes ever since its inception and loved the variety and how affordable the dishes were. The expansion has killed the very essence of Veekes. Received my food today two hours late and the descriptions of the dishes on the website do very little justice to the actual product delivered. Wish you guys had stayed the same quaint joint that served up awesome food with great service.

The quaint joint that we started at JP Nagar 2nd Phase with 2 tables was an experiment that proved successful. It lay the foundation for the growth that you allude to. At the time everything about the business was unviable frankly..and all i wanted tested was accepatbility.
We invested early in a central kitchen and a management team that would ensure consistency of cuisine where ever we are with the idea of creating a national footprint. While this takes place, I have never once taken off my eyes ofour customers and your feedback in indeed

Hi Ajay, Thank you for the quick response. I ask for no remediation; only hope that this feedback is taken into consideration. The specific dish that I had ordered for the was smoked BBQ chicken; which arrived as 3 minute strips of skewered chicken sans any marinade, grilled onions/mushrooms. i felt that the description on the website is misleading. I also ended up scooping the contents of a steak dish ordered; since most of it had spilled onto to the packaging box. I understand that everyone is entitled to a rainy day and hope this is a one-of

VFM and awesome continental in the same breath!

5 adults, a perfect 5-course meal, and a bill less than 1000...VNT have a really really good thing going! Love happened almost immediately - beginning with the lovely sprig of mint in the water carafe, the "we are inclusive" philosophy board by the side, the classics playing in the background (with the volume just right, not at all intrusive), and the menu that made me want to eat everything! The jalapeno poppers were cheesily perfect, and just the right temperature (didn't burn my tongue, an experience I've faced elsewhere). Though the tomatoes on the bruschetta weren't sundried as the menu said, I love tomatoes in any form - and the crusty breads disappeared very quickly :) The french onion soup in the chai glass - I turned up my nose at first at the missing crouton - but the flavor blew me away, and I wanted more! Maybe offer an option for a bigger serving for a higher price guys? 3 of us ordered mocktail sodas, which went down well (chap brought the wrong soda, but quickly replaced it with the right one once we pointed out the error); the blue curacao thing was lovely. We polished off 4 different pastas (can't remember the names though); I was the only meat-eater: the chicken in my olive-spinach pasta was moist and the pasta creamy dreamy. Nobody wanted dessert at first, but I was allowed only 2 bites of my tiramisu once the others saw the bliss on my face. Ditto for my friend's perfect melt-in-the-mouth caramel custard.
Overall, BRILLIANT food experience with slightly fumbly but attentive staff, quick service without rushing us, and great ambiance. I don't remember seeing the packaged sauces etc anywhere prominently, I'd have bought them otherwise, but I was probably mooning over the food. Now if they offer wine to go with the food, and I mean real wine, not non-alcoholic stuff, that'd be perfect. And perhaps some ravioli. And an outlet in my hometown Mumbai!

Good continental fare

Was passing by Jayanagar 4th block around lunch time today when I spotted the Veekes and Thomas Jayanagar outlet. This has a only vegetarian menu and is a small outlet with seating capacity of 6. Ordered a pasta and a Lasagna... food was good. Came to know that the prices have increased a bit vis-a-vis the ones posted in the website- it would be good to update the same. Quantity was decent , quality good. pasta cost me 50 bucks while the lasagna was 65... nice for a quick late lunch or even a fleeting evening snack.

Outlets like the one we have at Jayanagar were meant to compete with the masala dosa, chow chow baat market and was initially priced at INR 29 a dish. But given the niche nature and cost of the cuisine we just had to take it up over the 15 months it has been in existence. My hunch is that if we gain the volumes and acceptance of the masala dosa market (and we are slowly getting there)we would be glad to bring down prices. Cricket WC final afternoon and who wants to cook. A friend had suggested V&K's so, thought would try it out. My husband and I browsed through the menu and must say we wanted to try out everything on it :) After a lot of discussion we settled down on our items:
1. Sundried Tomato and Basil Bruschetta
2. Chicken Lasagna
3. Veg Cannelloni
4. Tiramisu

All the dishes were delicious. I can easily say the lasagne was better than Little Italy!! The Veg Canoleoni was yummy too. The best part was the packaging of items. Very neat and eco-friendly. Loved the food. Its highly recommended if you want to have some 5 star continental food in comfort of your home at very reasonable price. Our order was for 430 bucks. Good portions too.

Great Find .. Good food

Was looking around on burrp for a new restaurant and came across Veekes and Thomas. the location indicated on the map is not correct but I got the correct directions on the phone.
The starters and antipasti menu is quite exhaustive and you actually will end up eating more of these than the main course .. No complaints though they are all good. We started with Jalapeno poppers, grilled potato skins and black olive bruschetta. Ordered some lime soda as well. All 3 starters very were of top quality. For the main course we had Cannelloni, Pasta Arrabitta and Veg Steak. Of the 3 the Veg steak with lightly buttered and herbed rice was outstanding. Pasta was ok. The Cannelloni leave were a little thick. The sauces were authentic and good.
Ended with Mango Cheese cake and Tiramisu. again outstanding. The bill for 2 adults and 2 kids was abt 900.00.

The service was quick and efficient. No complaints. Being Sunday evening the noise level in the restaurant was very high. Its a small place and can seat about 20-25 people tops. So its not a place you can have a quiet romantic dinner. Its all about efficiency and good food. Roadside parking is available.

Good job on the restaurant guys .. will be back soon.

Hey thanks much. The canelloni is actually freshly made by us on order, though we will check on the spinach. 9 items costed you inr 100 each which is high considering that 2 dishes are priced at 35 each and 3 at 75 each inclusive of taxes. This totals inr 335(incl the drink) 3 vegetarian dishes for the main course should have costed you inr 350 tops including taxes, making your bill total 685 for the 4 of you for the dishes you mentioned not 900. if there has been a problem with my reasoning do return with your bill for a refund of the charge.

Long drive, but the food did not disappoint

I had been reading about Veekes and Thomas on various websites devoted to the food scene and had made plans several times to visit their main restaurant in J P Nagar but always changed plans because the drive to their location in J P Nagar seemed too daunting a task. However today I decided I should take my family over for lunch and I am glad I did. We all had a nice meal and the drive was not half as bad since it was not very difficult to find or get to, despite the fact that we live way across town.
When we got there it was pretty late in the afternoon and since we were all quite hungry and not inclined to pore through the pretty exhaustive menu I asked Vasu Krishnamurthy, one of the owners, for recommendations. All of Vasu’s picks were good, barring one, which was still okay.
During our conversation with Vasu, we learned about the founders' vision for the restaurant and where they wanted to position themselves in this crowded space. It was fascinating to hear about their plans and how these plans really revolved around taking Italian food to the masses, and making it as ubiquitous, and perhaps cheaper than, Chinese food. It was also an ‘inclusive’ story, to share their successes with the rural masses, which I thought was a wonderful thing. It’s all very nice to run a fancy place and state that one supports some charitable cause but to involve groups of financially challenged people in your operations and your supply chain while providing value-for-money meals tells you something about this team’s mission.
It has been a while since I had a meal at a restaurant and felt that I had got my money's worth. I was a satisfied diner today as was my family.

Don't go in expecting a ‘fancy’ meal, but an honest no-frills one and you won't be disappointed. Like Vasu said, ‘we have good food and good music’. The music might be an acquired taste for some, but the food I can vouch for.

overrated

found this place overrated. While it tries to be a VFM. didnt get much of a value to talk about. Almost everything on the menu was spicy, which doesnt seem right for italian food(i have had loads of it). The food isnt authentic and doesnt compare favorably with joints like cable car and Eurasia. The price/quality ratio isnt great either.

I had ratatouille and my wife ordered Cannelloni. Both were OK.but fail to provide the mouth watering effect, usually associated with Italian food.

should be good for budget conscious patrons who havent had (near)authentic Italian food apriori.

An old favorite

In the last couple of years have been to this place umpteen number of times ,be it their kitchen in JP nagar ,their restaurant or even their carts. When they started off their novelty was the fact that they did somehow manage to bring tasty european food at affordable costs. There had been similarly priced restaurants(serving european fare) like friends, and their clones, but VT stood out because of their taste and the quality of ingredients.
My eternal favorite in VT is the Chicken Piccata and the chicken nuggets. The nuggets served here are not the packages frozen variety.VT makes it in house with fresh chicken punded with spices. They do pack a good punch even in their vegetarian varieties,.
The only grouse which i can possibly have against them is the fact that they have regularly increased their prices, though it is still affordable, but it doesn't put a good impression if you see a 10 rs hike with every visit.
All said and done I will continue to visit VT for the foreseeable future.

Awesome Place !!!!!!!

Having read so much good reviews about this place I decided to spend a special day at Veekes and Thomas, So booked a table for two on 19th Feb, After searching for some time I found this small little place tucked near Brigade Millenium (By no means little for the Quality food they serve).

Firstly ordered for some French Onion Soup, Really surprised me when it was served in Chai(Tea) Cup, WOW what a great soup really set the tone for a great dinner.

After ordering for Stuffed Chicken and Chicken Steak I was glancing around the restaurant and was really pleased to know when they mentioned where they buy their Plates and spoons and how they are helping the Indian Economy.

When our food arrived it was very delicious and we really really like it. after that we ordered Caramel Custard and Chocolate Mousse WOW what a dessert absolutely loved both of them.

Overall a great experience eating at this place.

The only concern I had was the Chicken Steak and Stuffed Chicken was not served Hot, just for that I give 4/5 for this wonderful place and will definitely visit them again.

Good, good, and bloody good!

After hearing just so much about this place, I thought it was time I tried it. Always having been the one to try out places at the more popular areas (Indranagar, MG Road), I was absolutely clueless about JP Nagar, and finding this place was a Herculean task for us!

When we finally made it, the restaurant seemed nice and offered a warm ambience. We were extremely hungry, so immediately delved into ordering the starters. We started with the chicken salami and oyster mushroom Crostini. After having tried almost every Bangalore restaurant's crostini, this had to be the second best I've had in town (first being Olive Beach). The topping was soft and delicately flavoured, just right and thankfully the bread was delicious crunchy.

We then ordered the chilli and cheese croquettes, which can only be described as orgasmic. The taste of that immaculate cheese combined with the heat of the chilly really makes this the hero of the starters.

The croquettes were followed by toasted potato skins, which had a very tender, delicious creamy filling, and a sturdy baked potato skin (which I think many restaurants fail to offer). We also ordered the grilled tomatoes, which had a good filling, and well, tasted like grilled tomatoes :)

Having had so many starters, we settled for only one main course and ordered the Chicken Ala King - the only dish that disappointed me. The rice was too dry and the sauces lacked punch in terms of flavour and zing.

We finished off with Tiramisu for dessert which was pretty good as well. The bill came to just Rs.521, and was worth every rupee. Staff is friendly and we also spoke to Ajay Thomas, the chef and Vasu Krishnamurthy, who were always doing the rounds checking on whether customers are enjoying their meals or not, and they certainly earn brownie points for that :)

Good service, great value for money and excellent food! Once I figure the route, I'll visit more often! :)

Tip for management: It would be helpful id you add your restaurant listing to Google maps, so that customers won't find any difficulty in locating your restaurant.

Below Average

Last week I had been to Veekes and Thomas. Had heard a lot about it and had read positive reviews about it since the time it had opened. So wanted to give it a try.My mom had come down to meet me and she likes Italian food so we headed towards the JP nagar outlet for dinner. I had heard it serves good Italian food at affordable prices.
The outlet is a small cosy one with no air about it. Neatly placed tables and chairs and well lighted it gives a warm look. There was a board which wrote about the restaurant and it started with something like what Calcutta did to Chinese Veekes and Thomas is attempting to do it for Italian.
The experience though was a bit disappointing. I don’t know if my food selection was not right or was it just not my day. For starters we ordered chilli cheese rolls and some paneer stuff. Both the dishes were good. My mom liked the chilli cheese rolls. Crispy and lightly filled with cheese it seemed to be good. The paneer stuff was also good. That was the end. Mu husband had ordered a veg lasagna and I ordered a large portion of chicken arrabiatta. The lasagna was too dry. I would have preferred at least some cheese and white sauce on it to go with it. In no way it was cheesy.chicken arrabiatta was also just average. The chicken had some sort of smell as if it was not fresh and was a bit chewy. The sauce was just ok and I and my mom just had the penne leaving the chicken pieces. Still not satisfied we took one more chance and thought of ordering a risotto.i guess it was something olives and pepper not too sure but olives was there for sure.the rice was undercooked and hard and the dish was too too bland. My husbad didn’t wanted to order anything else.
The only saving grace was the chocolate brownie.the bill came to 605 but we were just not satisfied by what we had. The taste of the food was nothing extraordinary or least to say it was not good at least on that day. I am from Calcutta and I know what cheap Chinese food is like. They are cheap but they are tasty too. End of a meal you feel like yes you have eaten something.V&T left this vaccum. not sure if keeping the prices of the food low one compromise on the taste.I hope if I happen to visit next time I would have a different and a better exp.

Hype without substance

Hi,
I had visited the J.P.Nagar restaurant sometime back.Although the concept seemed enterprising but the same did not translate with the food, taste and value. The quantity seems to be stingy and the taste too ordinary .The veg lasagne was quite pathetic with half cooked strips of lasagne sheets. The spaghetti bolognaise large portion simply lacked the taste, and was a disaster- it looked like some eggs were scrambled and some maggi masala was thrown into it.
It was quite a disappointing experience for a Saturday Lunch as it was very much mediocre and embarrassing for me as I had taken some guests along who felt the same .I would never step into this place ever again .
Incidentally I had written a mail as a feedback for which I did not receive a reply at all.

Liked the food & desserts

I like experimenting & experiencing different restaurants. Last Saturday, I was in the mood for a long drive as well. V&T just happened to come up in one of the searches on burrp! & my wife & I, with kid in tow, drove from Indira Nagar to JP Nagar.

Ordered mushroom crostini, chicken breast with rice & a fish preparation in white sauce. I must say that the first two were very tasty but the third was a disaster. There was no hint of taste or spice.

For desserts, we had mango cheese cake, choco mousse & caramel custard. The desserts were very tasty & attractively priced.

Our overall experience was pretty good. I would rate both the service & food 4/5. Just make sure that you dont go by the fancy names without reading/asking the ingredients

Loveddd the food, service and idea!!!

After reading all the reviews about veekes and thomas we decided to check out the place even though it’s in the other end of town.
The ambience was a little disappointing even though I figured that really wasn’t a priority for them. I think it would be great if they could only change the chairs.
The food was excellent all the way. The portions were just perfect. For starters we ordered the chicken salami and oyster mushroom crostini which really struck a chord. For the mains we ordered the stuffed chicken and the Portuguese chicken. Both were really good. And finally for desert we had the chocolate mousse and the mango cheesecake which very again the perfect size and great ending to the meal.
The service was really good. Our waiter was this guy with glasses (we forgot to ask him his name). Even though he seemed a little nervous he was really courteous and attentive. I had requested for hot water since I had a terrible throat infection and he kept getting me a refill just as my glass of water was getting over which is a big rarity since most restaurants think it’s a big crime of you ask for hot water.
Surprised that they serve such amazing food at these prices and hope they retain the prices.
Really want to try their pastas and sandwiches and also the sauces n cheese from the delicatessen.
I hope they open something closer to home (Richmond road) and i will probably have dinner here every day.

It's a no nonsense place.
Great food and good variety. Currently my favorite Indo-Italian joint.
The pasta options are good and very different compared to what I have tried anywhere else.
Ever heard off or tried fried elbow Macroni? V&T is the place for it! The quantity of food and the price is very reasonable. Except they should go a little easy on their pepper usage.
Located in a very residential area, this place is a little hard to find.
The only complaint I have is that the size of desserts is very small and they have only 5 items in their dessert list.
Would be good if they open more branches in the other parts of the city.

Reimbursing INR 50 since the website did not have the revised rates - PRICELESS.

This is probably my first review of a restaurant. I will not indulge too much into reviewing the food (I love the food) but I wanted to share the experience of visiting V&T.

I placed a telephone order for take-away since I stay really close to the place. I visited the website of the restaurant to take a look at the menu. My "shopping cart" displayed a total of INR 182 (excl VAT and packing charges)

The lady who took the order over the phone confirmed that the bill came up to INR 218 (excl VAT and packing charges)
I called back and notified that the total bill amount on the website was lesser than what she had confirmed. She informed me that the rates were revised recently and these changes had not been incorporated into the website.

When I reached V&T, Mr. Vasu, immediately got up and greeted me. I told him I was waiting for my take-away and informed him that the rates on the website had not been revised. He immediately apologised and reassured me that the prices would be updated in 2 days. He found out the difference in amount and immediately reimbursed the extra, quoting the reason as "their fault"

It was not really a big deal but Mr. Vasu insisted on reimbursing the extra amount and ensuring that the correct price would be reflected on the website.

The takeaway boxes were quite huge honestly and I realised I did not have a carry bag (V&T has a "no-plastic" policy) This dilemma of mine was quickly resolved and the lady at the counter had a quick-fix solution. In-fact, she even escorted me out to to ensure that I faced no problems with the boxes while taking them back.

Tiny gestures such as these are very endearing and will make you want to visit the place more. If V&T stick to their mantra of quality & price, I will sign up for a lifetime membership.

P.S - The chocolate mousse is out of the world! Pity, they are too small. I wouldn't mind paying more for a bigger portion.

It's delicious!! It's addictive!! It's V&T!! =D

So far, every single time I have eaten at veekes and thomas i have walked out completely satisfied!!!! their chicken courses are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! their decor is pleasing to the eye as well...not too loud and very tastefully done. More over, they actually play some pretty good music!! Now, coming back to the food.. i think have eaten there so many times that i have covered their entire menu!! every dish (right from the starters like the crostinis, bruchettas, open sandwiches to the pastas like the honey coconut and sesame, arrabiata, broken mustard, aglio olio to the chicken courses like chicken piccata, portugese chicken, chicken ala king to the mixers(drinks) to the desserts) is BRILLIANT!!! its the perfect place to just chill out alone or one could even bring a bunch of friends along!!
their prices are decent too!! the owner is a pleasant guy!!very polite and british!!! the concept is brilliant and the initiatives they have taken to help those who are less privileged, will i sincerely hope, take them a long way!! those who didnt like the food at all( and im sure there wont be too many like that) were either in a bad mood or dont know what good food actually tastes like!!! all I can say is that i'm seriously addicted to this place!!!!

Bad, pretentious food, too many tall claims

Location: Back of the beyond, not easily accessible

Ambiance and Decor: Sort of like a Shivajinagar kabab-biryani place. (Not that I have issues with that; but I don't go to Kabab places in Shivajinagar for the ambiance. But a Euro place is a different story). Basically, there IS no decor to speak of and the place is very unattractive. The furniture is bizarrely not appropriate for a casual, cafe style place. And the overall ambiance is completely at odds with the "fine European" food they claim to serve. Why they would choose to adorn the walls with their rambling "mission" and "vision" statement type of stuff is beyond my understanding. That stuff should be on your website, or your takeaway menu at best. Not on the walls! It's not exactly art, you know.

Service: Slow, erratic, lackluster. The usual incoherent, poorly-trained waiters. The type of place where they forget your starters and then bring it after they have brought you the maincourse (and don't apologise). Also the type of place where the owners sit at the counter and laugh and joke among themselves while making no effort to talk with their new and old customers.

Price: The only redeeming factor: it IS cheap. 600 bucks for a meal for two. On second thoughts, not THAT cheap considering the portions are small.

Food: VERY mediocre. All talk, no substance. They make tall claims. But though their intent might be earnest, the food is a huge let down. Describing it as "fine European food" is blasphemous. They might have been aiming for to "do to continental cuisine what the Chinese from Calcutta did to Chinese food decades ago - highly Indianised, very affordable and easily available", but instead of customizing European food to Indian palettes, the food they serve is at best uninspiring and nondescript. The food completely lacks the delicate, fresh and light character of European food as well as the wholesomeness and robustness of Indian food. And in any case, why they would choose to describe the self-proclaimed Indianised food as "fine European" is anybody's guess.

So to state specifics, what you end up getting is risotto that tastes like 'ganji' (rice gruel) with cheese (no arborio rice or any suitable local substitute with the right texture, mind you. just your regular, plain, polished white rice), pasta arrabiata that reeks of sunflower oil, brushetta (on semi-stale bread) with tomatoes that are not fresh, but cooked. I don't know how to describe it - it's not entirely unpalatable food - but it's VERY, VERY poorly made with ingredients that taste far from fresh and flavoursome. My problem is NOT with the concept - it IS with their quality standards.

And they claim to do this whole eco-friendly bit, but why they they serve some of the stuff on beetle nut plates and some stuff on regular crockery is beyond me again. If you are aiming for eco-friendly, how about serving EVERYTHING on just regular cutlery that can be washed and reused?!

I'm the last person who is opposed to innovative food, but this place is just plain shoddily-run and pretentious. I'm sorry but I can't fall for the whole "accessible, affordable, Indiansized" story no matter how much platitude they cloak it in.

So, unless you are in the market for somewhat cheap, below average, and just plain boring "European" food, avoid them. If you are willing to drive give or take 5 kms, go to Thulp in Koramangala instead. The food is innovative, tasty, fresh, fun and costs just as much as Veekes and Thomas. (and you can look at Manga type illustrations on the walls as opposed to head-spinning amounts of badly-written, rambling gyan that they have at V&T.)

hey gal, what can we say? you have the platform of comment. We dont!!! Somethings you've said are important. That the 'owners' sit and talk amongst themelves and dont pay attention is serious to warrant an immediate recitification. It isnt acceptable and was never our style. That you received your main course before your starters is as unacceptable and not part of the training. Your comment on food though is ambigious to say the least and hardly helpful. Not 'robust, lacks 'delicacy etc are big words which makes your treatise on our restauarant

hahahaha. very objective response from an executive director indeed. hear yourself talk, mr. thomas. as a customer, i have the right to BE subjective. as the person who and runs a restaurant, how about some grace in accepting the brickbats along with the bouquets?

"you have the platform of comment-we don't, treatise, big words, prose, trained under ramnujam, the intent to do us down". really? at least to my untrained ear, that sounds like you're whining very loud in self defence (in addition to resorting to sarcasm) and hardly addres

that had been until that time your only comment on burrp and its so detailed it makes you look like competition, since you havent even bothered to rate ANOTHER restauarant even with a line. the fact that you wake up 2 months later and comment on our comment makes it look like this account you have on burrp is inactive too and meant to berate us. Our comment is justified in that context. GET A $%^&*( LIFE.

Amazing Food...with Moderate Price

I am a foodie by nature and always search for good places to satisfy my crave for food.... This time it was the turn of Veekes and Thomas. I love pasta and wanted to try it out at this place. So last weekend me n my friend with the help of my android powered GPS :) reached Veekes and Thomas, which is a Multi cuisine restaturant, for lunch. The ambiance was really good, but the music was a bit loud. We had a look at the menu and were wondering what to order. We wanted to try out the lafagna, ratatouille and pasta. Along with that we ordered a starter which was amazing. The lafagna was also very good, I can say total yumm, the pasta was also good. We can't comment on ratatouille as we were having it for the first time and to be true we didn't liked it. We ordered one beverage which is goa special called son kadi... It was also amazing.... Then ultimately a dessert which accomplished our lunch. So had a very good lunch and time. And when the bill came it was also amazing...with very moderate price... Must tell that these people are very particular about what they serve. It was the one dish which we have ordered which was supposed to be with black olive toppings, but the restaurant was running out of the black olives so the lady came and very politely asked us whether we have any problem if instead of black olive they use green olives. This is a really good gesture and yes the serving time is so fast that we were not believing it can be so fast with such amazing food.... Really loved it

thanks zabin, we obviously love feedback such as yours.
take outs - 1. ratatoille was something you didnt like. ask them to tweak the dish to your palate the next time. Im aware that we need to increase the number of vegetarian courses on the menu and that is something we are working on. You should see a new menu by the time the year closes 2. The music is loud - not supposed to be, but since the CDs are personally recorded the songs may vary in volume. Will have someone keep a ear out to ensure volume control. Thank you for great feedback

Choose carefully

It was only my 2nd time with V&T and I was really looking forward to my meal.
I ordered a baked potato starter, a veg cilantro peanut pasta, a tomato basil risotto followed by mango cheesecake.
The food was not bad in any way...it just wasnt great now that my expectations are set high.

The baked potato was average in the sense that it could have been vastly improved by some seasoning - paprika, oregano or just olive oil/black pepper. Costs nothing but can turn an avg dish into something really nice.

The cilantro pasta really needs to be chosen with care. I am not sure if it is an Italian recipe at all. The cilantro-peanut combo makes it taste more Thai and only recommended for those who can tolerate a plateful of peanut-ty taste.

My search for good Risotto in Bangalore continues. The risotto I ordered was a tangy rice with 3-4 strips of basil. It could have been served as a side of rice with a main course of chicken breast and no one would have been wiser. I either ordered wrong or whatever was made just doesnt taste right. There were generous helpings of chicken but it felt that the chicken didnt belong there and maybe was added separately to the rice.

The cheesecake was flawless but I found the box it came in too large for the size of the dish. For one who claims environment friendliness, they are sure expending a lot of paper to serve a spoonful.

So, my advice to fellow diners is to choose dishes carefully and be prepared to not always have the best experience always.
Next time, will try some new items and will be back with new experiences :-)

Ajay,
Thanks for the informative reply.
But certain aspects of it disappoint me. Your enterprise has gained reputation on account of affordable and a largely authentic Italian cuisine - something which is available in Bangalore only by spending a mini fortune. I understand that you run a business and to make it profitable you need to do whatever to ensure a larger customer base. Several eateries which started up great have been lost to this very reason. Dont lose your differentiators - price and taste. Keep your cuisine and your tastes

November 23, 2010response from management at Veekes and Thomas:

our menu has detailed descriptions under each dish explaining its origins. even the indian flavours are prepared in a manner that isnt 'in your face' and many 'afficionados' of euro food find this acceptable and innovative.
as explained a pesto is a method of making a pounded sautee. cilantro peanut pestos are available in gourmet stores across europe and even in india at maybe spar you would find a bottle of bamboleo at inr 300 for 200 gms. the taste suits indians since the ingredients are more easily available and familiar to them. that

But I sincerely hope you fulfill your plans without resorting to such steps.

Negligible seasoning - We use a standard. At our restaurants you have the option to spike up a dish with olive oil or seasonings kept at the table. That option isnt available for a take away as it would not just increase the cost of packaging (We charge INR 7 for our packaging and subsidize each pack by INR 5 to keep it eco friendly)but also introduce elemen

Reasonable price but not so great food

After reading reviews from this site, we decided to order from this restaurant for home delivery...We ordered Crostini, Arabiatta Pasta(full order), Lasagne and Veg Bolognese. My bill came to around Rs.400 which was reasonable. This included tax and delivery charges..The delivery was promised in 45 minutes, and I should admit that it came on time..I got my 4 orders in nicely packed boxes...

We started with the Crostini and the taste was pretty good..This raised our expectations..Then we tried the pasta..It was too flat and did not have any italian taste..We had to fix it by adding some spices like oregano and basil along with Olive oil..This dish was a flop..We ordered Lasagne for the kids hoping that there would be some cheese along with vegetables..This again was very ordinary..Kids did not like it and they had to settle for some homemade curd rice...Finally, we tried the Bolognese, and this was OK..This again needed some touch up from our side to get some true Italian taste...Overall, on the taste quotient, I would say it was just OK..

I am impressed with all the other aspects of this restaurant like the reasonable price, timely delivery, courteous service, extensive menu, and environmental consciousness..if only they could improve a bit on the taste, it would be awesome....and they would end up getting many regulars for their evening dinners..

A great place with good food

It was a random lazy weekend lunch time decision to go here...after we went we decided to make it a conscious effort to return in the future!!...:)

The place is tucked away in a corner of JP Nagar, no pretensions, no fake italian accented names or decor, no hangups. The soups in the chai glass was a complete surprise!!

Really simple and cool place where you can kickback and chillout!! We loved the atmosphere, it was more like a college hangout than a restaurant though I dont mean that in a bad way!!

The food is simple and straight forward continental cuisine, no fusion (though my friends told me some of their other branches serve some kickass fusion..must try sometime) easy on the palate and stomach..no overpowering garlic/olive oil/cheese

The service is extra superb if there was a competition for attentiveness and efficiency and speed of service I dont think anybody can beat this place...even McD and KFC will be left far behind...sooper quick!!..really impressed!!..great job there guys

Ambience...kinda funny feeling eating continental food and hearing himesh reshammiya trying to desperately ease his constipation...pls pls change the music!!..:)

Our Order
=======
French Onion Soup
Tomato & Basil Soup
Sundried Tomato Bruschetta
Black Olive Bruschetta
Smorga Starta
Veg Lasagna

Total Bill Amount - Rs.415/- excl tips..believe it or not!!

Food - Great..simple easy light food
Ambience - okay definitely needs work
Service - Extra superb
Value for money - Fantastic

Definitely try this place if you want something easy on the palate, stomach and wallet!!..:)

VFM and unique experience

moi and beau sajit were trying to locate veekes and thomas after having a look at ur site. sajit was pretty impressed by the site, whoever designed the site kuddoes... i must admit classy

We called the mobile # 9686178000 given here for directions and landed up at the small kitchen at 2nd phase. The lady there guided us to the restaurant. It was a thursday afternoon and we were the first to be there...

We ordered Spanish leg roast, five spice fish and a veg pasta thali..
Sajit liked the the sauce in SLR rather than FSF :) i eat only sea food and fsf was served wt masehed potato and a part of herbed rice... quite a complete meal. I wana try the pasta thali and went for it and sajit ordered some ice lemon soda (the blue colour drink , forgot the name)

The starter was jus two garlic bread wt cheese . :( and herb rice wt gravy was just okish or should i say normal .Aglio olio and the desser mocha were the best n the thali.........
I do understand your concern to give thali at affordable prices. But if the quality is a bit let down, i do not mind paying more for better choice, again it is personal choice :)

over all maincourse and drink was good, thali was a lil let down ... but fine for the price provided :) we forgot to buy some cheese :(
total bill was jus a lil above 500 rs, now thats VFM and we spend almost 200 bugs to reach the place : P still worth the money :)

BURP!! not yet!

Good food served with a good heart has a unique taste; and so does the food at V&T. The first thing that struck a chord was the lovely ambiance, its refreshingly Goan in its feel.
Loved the food so much that was tempted to go back there twice in a week ;). Neat choice of vegetarian menu. The taste very original! They sure loved mustard... :). So did I !!
Adding to the zing was not only the warm service and the supportive creative heads behind the menu but also their conscious business policies.
The only qualm was about missing the missing tiramisu...

Read about the place on Burrp. I wanted to try this place for Pastas.I took my partner. On reaching found the place a little cramped, however the owner (Thomas) assured that would give a table in 15 mins. Had no clue what to Order, again Thomas helped us. he suggested a Non-Veg Pasta for my Partner and a Veg for me and a Starter. The food was "GREAT", thanks to Thomas. We ended up ordering a starter after our main course. This place reminded me of F&B and Casablanca for the taste. Thomas is a real friendly person, interacted extremely well with all his customers. Guys visit this place, sure to enjoy the meal. I'm sure to go there every time i wana eat Pasta.

Simple, no frill Italian

After a lot of wait, we finally got an opportunity to order a home delivery from V&T.
The menu itself is quite interesting read - lots of options for both veg & non veg. I esp. liked the Risotto menu and will try it out some day.
We ordered 2 pastas and a crostini because we were told that the pasta portions were small and would not suffice an individual. BTW, they have a small and large portion to most of their dishes - which is great. The food was delivered in time in a box similar to what a cake would be packed in - a box per dish. The pastas themselves were in a disposable eco friendly dish. Though the packaging seems to be an overkill (Rs 7 per box as well), it actually allows the pasta remain intact during transport and does not make it into a khichdi kind of thing.
We ordered a smoked sausage pasta and a veg pasta. The veg pasta was ok but the sausage pasta was really good. A touch oily but delectable and I could have done with a little more sausage cut into slightly chunkier bits.
Our crostini though was a huge disappointment. It was the chicken salami & mushroom crostini and it was made just by placing sauteed salami and mushrooms on piece of bread which I thought should have been toasted better.

Now a lot of talk is on the servings. Even we were told to order a starter since the servings were small. It all depends on your appetite. Even after a nice workout I felt that the large portion of pasta is more than filling. So try it once before deciding if you need more than a pasta for your lunch/dinner.

I felt the price was a great differentiator since all places serve contintental/italian food at exorbitant prices.

Its definitely a place to try out more than once and I hope the standards remain what they are today

Dinner and Veekes and Thomas - JP Nagar

I got to know about this place from someone at my work place, someone who I didn't know well. So I didn't know what to expect. So I looked at the website and took a look at the menu, prices, ambience etc. I thought it was worth a visit. Tonight I went there with my husband and I have no regrets at all! In fact I was quite impressed. The menu is very reasonable, there's loads of variety, the service is really fast, you are greeted with a nice smile and have a very warm, cosy feeling about the place immediately. We tried a good variety soup, starter, pasta, roast etc and all of it was great!
The bill was just around 450/- for the two of us and we were overstuffed even though we sampled the smaller portions.
Overall a must visit and yes, I'll keep going there every once in a while.

Excellent Food !!!

I can't actually count the number of times I went there recently. The ambience is quite simple and not flashy. But the food is what makes it stand apart. Whatever items I tasted till now (I guess I didn't leave any :-)) were really good.

Their pricing is very reasonable though I felt some items are 'slightly' over priced for that quantity (eg, Grilled Chicken Open Sandwich). But no issues with prices at least for me, because I have yet to find a cheaper continental restaurant (with same standards as Veekes) in Bangalore.

Earlier I also wished they provide tomato-sauce in a bowl, as I personally believe using a sauce is more of user preference and individual taste. And guess what, my wish was granted when I 've been there last time. They provided a bowl of tomato-sauce and it made me more happy :-)

I must also mention that the newly introduced 'Grilled Fish with Five Spice Sauce' is absolutely delicious. I wish they add few items in prawn as well :-)

I am glad I found 'Veekes and Thomas' even though little late. Better late than never.

Few months back, I ordered home delivery 2 times and it failed both times. First time, wrong order was delivered (I ate it though) and 2nd time the delivery boy couldn't arrive because of tyre puncture. (The owner called up, apologized and sent complimentary desserts. I appreciate the responsibility.) I hope they might have streamlined their home delivery process by now. Anyway, after they started their 'dine-in' restaurant, I prefer to walkin there instead of home delivery, now I can enjoy the food when it's piping hot.

We had tomato and olive bruchetta, fried potatoes, canollini and the pattice with some kind of a sauce on it. All of them were really tasty and really fresh. The portions are pretty small. my 3rd visit to veekes and thomas and i must say the experience has been awesome each time. you cant ask for more than billy joel and elton john and great euro food. these guys take care to keep it simple. now on the fondue, im glad they innovate each month with somthing new, so much better than having the same menu for a year and longer. the fondue was a great serve but tasted bitter, probably due to the fresh cheese they use and it didnt have the stickyness associated with fondue being pulled off the pan. secondly the dips must be better sauteed and finished. but it is great that theyve introduced the dish. we just love it, any form, any style!! we then had fish. yippee theyve started fish - vietnamese basa great selection. the lemon butter sauce was divine and is a must have though the five spice sauce tasted more like an indian gravy. i would have expected the taste to be more oriental. keep it going though, just lve the thought of seeing something new each time we visit

dear deepak,
thank you for your feedback. appreciate very much the detail and that you are a fan of ours. we try every new idea that comes our way from relatives and friends to customers such as yourselves. i must admit some work and some dont but the important thing is to get the show to move on. as regards the fondue..i think we have a handle on what is going wrong. we have taken it off the menu for the weekend and will re introduce it once our supply chain for the dish is consistently in place hopefully this ensuing week. 5 spice tasted

A must-do Italian restaurant

My wife and I are always hunting for new Italian restaurants. While we've tried all the well known restaurants in Koramangala, Indira Nagar and the center of town, we were surprised to find this little gem of a restaurant right near us in JP Nagar. I can honestly say that V&T will give any of these restaurants a run for their money in terms of the quality of food and easily trump them in value for money. Particularly interesting is its philosophy of strengthening the value chain, especially empowering local groups by sourcing food supplies and cutlery from them. We had tomato-basil soup (served in chai glasses found on highway-dhabas), parsely-pesto-durum wheat-macroni and cottage cheese served with spinach and mashed potatoes (on an eco-friendly plate). The food was simply great, and the portions are sized well for one to have a four course meal inclusive of dessert. A MUST TRY...!!!

Nice Food and Good Surprise!!!!!

I went to this restaurant last night near Brigade Milleniun with my hubby and brother in laws.
A great continental meal and a fresh change to our normal eating out cuisine.
The food was simply awesome, nice ambience and soothing music.
The dishes we tried..
1.Sundried Tomato and Basil Bruschett
2.Mince Meat Crostini
3.Stuffed Chicken - Tender Chicken Breast stuffed with a mixture of spinach, mushroom and roasted garlic, grilled and served with brown sauce and herbed, buttered rice or two pieces of garlic toast.
4.Smoked Sausage Primavera - Please try this...It was yummm...The Flavour of the smoked sausage was simply awesome and yummm... Yummm is the only word i can think of right now while writing... All the flavours are so fresh and every bite you have to say Yumm.....:)
5.Honey Glazed lamb with barbeque spagghetti - simply yumm..

After trying all these we ordered soem Dessert...
We tried Mocha, Tiramisu, mango Cheese Cake and Chocolate Mousse.

The experince was good as continental food tastes much better when it's served fresh. and it was served right off the Oven/Grill!!!
Food was priced fair enough..

Whatever WE ate, tasted delicious.
I would like to add only one thing....The quantity should increase a lil bit i guess :)

Perfect Fusion of Indian and Continental Food

I went for my son's birthday Dinner along with my wife and we all liked the food very much!! It is a good fusion of Indian way of preparing food by blending with the continental food preparations. The Menu has good choice for both Veggies and the Non-veggies, we ordered the Chicken Nuggets, Chilli Cheese, Basil and Tomato soup and French onion soup for the starters. I had ordered for the Chicken Steak which was too good while the other dishes ordered viz., chicken lasagne and Cannelloni were also particularly great. The prices were very moderate, the ambience simple but elegant and service very courteous. Thanks to previous burrp reviews which brought us to this place for a good family dinner!!! Wish the prices, gourmet food and the service stay that way!!

Nice Continental Food...

I had tasted food several times at 'Veekes and Thomas' (both home delivery and their restaurant), and I liked the food almost everytime.

However, I feel their 'restaurant' experience was much better than home delivery, because of the primary reason that continental food tastes much better when it's served 'hot'.

I tasted almost all items in their menu and no complaints on taste. Food was priced fair enough. Continental food can't get much cheaper than that. Service was polite & good. The owner was also a very nice gentleman.

Only minor grief I have is that they don't keep the 'Tomato sauce' on the tables. When we ask for it, they do bring the Tomato Sauce Sachets. Even though they use good quality sauce sachets, it gives a 'foodcourt' experience than a 'restaurant' experience. I hope they do consider keeping a small bottle of Tomato sauce on every table.

Funny calling you by your Ids, but thats the only option I have I guess. so cherry burry your point was considered at the time we started both our restaurants. but we wanted to desist from offering a chinese dining experience where some customers.(and i am not bing judgmental here)..douse the dish with all the sauces laid out changing the very taste of the original dish. we pride ourselves on the taste of these dishes and did not encourage the use of extra external flavours other than those desired. so for instance if you order a frankfurter, w

Good food and more...

This is a boon for local residents and others alike. A quasi fine dining place and only one of its kind in 7th Phase, it attracts people of all sorts and definitely ME!! My penchant for pasta pulls me to numerous places but my desire finds its emancipation at last. As a regular visitor to this area, I was left sadly longing for good food and man, was my wish answered..A quaint place, tastefully done, Elvis, Sinatra playing in the backgroud, and yummy fare coming your way, lunch or dinner with that special someone..what more can a soul ask for..Love all their starters, they have an excellent pasta done in white sauce, their Smorga starta, a Swedish dish is delightful, cottage cheese, zucchini and spinach..and the prices are a pleasant surprise..a lavish meal for two will not set you back more than 400Rs and that is the clincher!!

PS: this a review for a franchise of Veekes and Thomas a little further down, near Puttenhalli.

dear anitha in this review we have got more than we deserve im sure. liked the line about a quasi fine dining tag. we hated fine dining with all its pomp, garnish and presentation and wanted to serve great food, great quantities and great prices. the connection with customers from day 1 was to be with the food and music and litle else :). im glad you hit the nail on the head. the next time your at the restaurants pls raise a hand and we'll play some great brazilian and french bistro music. god bless

Hidden Find !

I came across this place on Burrp , when I was craving for some chicken Lasagna ! And I must say, a great find :)
A nice cosy place for a quick snack or meal. Been there last night at the Brigade Millenium Branch.
Ordered chicken lasagna, which was yum, next was Stuffed chicken, great again. And then tried the pepper and garlic risotto. A great continental meal and a fresh change to our normal eating out cuisine. Oh yes, we topped it with a piece of mango cheese cake, which I must say was way to tiny , but delicious, it made us go mmmm :P

I'm glad you enjoyed the food. The restaurant opened 20 days ago on 21st June and though we still have the usual teething problems with starting something such as electricity, credit card machine connections etc, all of you have been very gracious with your custom and your feedback on us. It is this that has kept us going and makes us enjoy doing so. Apropos our desserts, we charge INR 29, though for a bite sized dessert I admit, but that is because we use original ingredients such as the very expensive mascarpone cheese, original garnish etc.

Very homely too but it can seat 40 and has all the jazz of a restauarant minus the put on. and the quality of food and the prices remain the same. just keep going guys

Just wow!

Awesome lunch experience.....the food was great, the service very helpful and the ambience is sooo soothing! We overate way too much, but came away feeling full, not stuffed at all! Not the typical cheesy italian fare, you can actually taste all the ingredients. I just kinda wish I cud keep this place a secret so that it doesn't get too commercialized! Please veekes and thomas, stay as quaint and down-to-earth as you are now, no matter how famous you become coz of my review...lol!

Order for Main Courses

Ordered twice from V&T. Tried the pastas the first time - they were too dry for our liking and couldn't finish the whole thing. Tried Portuguese chicken and Stuffed Chicken the second time. The Stuffed Chicken was super - and that is saying a lot considering this was 'home-delivery' and it still maintained the juicyness.
Portions are a little too small - you might need to order 2 main courses for a filling meal.
Haven't tried the desserts yet.
Great value for money
Great packaging - very eco friendly.

Much thanks for your feedback. Our sauces are just perfect for those that dine in. For deliveries we try our best to preserve the dishes in the box when it reaches you in the 45 minutes or so that we promise by adding extra sauce to the dish normally considered sacrilege in this type of cuisine. The best way to deal with this if you eat this later and if you still find it dry or coagulated is to sprinkle some water on it and then microwave it for 30 seconds, to allow it to re hydrate and then it should be just fine.
Surprising you should
