Perfect Sports Bar to Watch Matches
This sports bar has opened many branches in Bangalore. When I want to watch football matches I go here. The ambiance of this place is very apt for a sports Bar. Good cocktails, music and drinks accompanied with delicious dishes, this is what this place is all about. If your ever wondering where you could catch the screening of your favorite football game, well XSB is the place to be.
Have been here quite a few times...
The booze is ok ok (You can get better options in Indira Nagar)
Its neither a sports bar nor a pub!
You can't enjoy a match (due to piercing music) or dance (very small dance floor/or rather non-existent)
To top it all, the bouncer is pretty annoying as he shoves you off (Especially if you are guy)
Pathetic Experience At A Team Party
I strongly suggest do not choose this place for any of your parties or to hang out. It was a total spoiler for me and my office team mates.
We went there on a Wednesday night and we were charged heavy entry fees with only half of it as the cover charge. We ordered veg starters platter which was so bad and looked like they have prepared it for days before and serving the same thing from from days.
They are supposed to have "Happy Hours" till 8 pm, but waiter refused to take our order of beer pint at 7.45 pm only.
After that when we went on the dance floor, the guy refused us to dance as we were 6 guys and 2 girls. When I told him that we are here for a team party, he argued and told us that only couples are allowed on the dance floor.
Overall, this is the worst experience for me and my friends and we regret that we took this decision to go to XSB.
I have visited the place twice and between the two visits there have been a lot of rules that have come up like wearing appropriate clothing, only couples entry for dance etc.
Earlier the place was kickass. People would watch Cricket or Football matches here.
The ambiance is very good considering the dance floor, the large screen tv etc.
The food is good but over priced.
On the whole, the place is good enough to assemble crowd to watch a game.
P.S. Please ask the dress code before going! :p
I have been going in this bar from past 1 year , it was good earlier but now they have made some changes in their rules, if u r a SINGLE GUY u can't talk to girls and cant even dance also, the bouncers will not let u to talk to girls even if a girl is interested, so only couples can have a good time there. Single girls if u want to go to dis bar to find a partner, bad luck for u .
It was my birthday and I booked a table for eight. When I reached, I was told that I am not fit to go in coz i was not wearing partywear..... Dude, who gives a fuck !!! At the same time I saw some FIRANGI's coming out wearing chappals and kurta... Discrimination, that too with us.... I never knew so called Xtreme bar is so pathetic. BIG NO !!!! Any time HRC Rocks m/
One of the better bars in Indiranagar!!
XSB has slowly become one of my frequented joints - especially on a Friday. Karaoke nights are great here. So is ladies night on Wednesday, but I feel Fridays do the trick for me ;) The entire staff is amazing. All are well-spoken; amazing customer service! The bartender even makes drinks that aren't on the menu. Now THAT is something I really admire :) The food is also not half-bad (though I genuinely wish it gets better).
So, if you are at Indiranagar any night of the week, head to XSB with your buddies for some amazing drinks, great music & the big screen if a match is on!!
Been here a few times now.. Best experience was during the Karaoke nights! The KJ has almost every song you can think of! Nice crowd though not all of them can sing :) But still a lot of fun. Good to chill out after work if you enjoy singing.
Also went for a ladies night with a few friends.. was happy that it wasn't stuffed with people that you couldn't even stand peacefully! good music.. the usual hip hop and house. Please make sure you are dressed for it though.. Guys are not allowed inside with chappals apparently.. only shoes! And no stag entry as in other bars..The drinks were quite interesting.. and strong!
From the "Sports Bar" point of view.. Went for a Man U match recently and was pleasantly surprised.. Lots of fans sitting on bean bags and bar stools watching it on a big screen with the volume on! They have a lot of screens with different sports being aired. They also have a Foosball and pool table to play.
Food and beer is average otherwise. Nothing great but not bad either. The staff was quite friendly.. didn't experience any rudeness like the other reviews.
Overall opinion? Please check what's happening before going so you are prepared! Definitely going back sometime!
Dubious grounds on "right to admission"
The place which claims to be a sportsbar, has hardly any sportsmanship at all. This was in the news recently for denying entry to certain African nationals, for which the place for reprimanded by the CM himself.
Recently, I visited the place with a few friends and was denied entry on dubious grounds. On asking the reason for being denied, the extremely unfriendly staff just pointed to a board stating, "Management reserves the right to admission". Perhaps the staff feels that they can just pick and choose on who deserves to enter the bar and who does not. The reason for denial may very from your race or region or dressing sense or any mysterious, whimsical reasons based on which the staff decides the "right to admission". Enter the place only if you are sure that you are fit on all the above grounds.
First time i went to this bar by mistake.. Good Service..beer was good.. & beef chilli was delicious.. overall liked it..but No Smoking that is too bad ... they have a pool n smoke area where all guys smoke here no ventilation.. just enter inside no need to smoke at all..u feel like u had 10 packets of cig at a time... then finally come out n sit take deep breath of air conditioner.... Just try Cirrus one floor above this bar..you will love it .. Price.food.music.service wise/.....
Awesome Ladies night! thank god for the bouncer!!
Wen it comes to these ladies nights..I have had several bad experiences of shady people gawking..even at well known bars / clubs
So without any expectations we went to X'treme yesterday for a ladies night and LOVED it!!
It was a free cocktail night..had lovely cosmos
I'm very particular about my cosmopolitan..it becomes a make or break situation for me
i'd rate their Cosmo as decent 6/10..good amt of alcohol so makes up for it!
Service was good...food was better (surprisingly!)
Music was so-so...i read some people complaining bout the bouncer...but thank god for him...no funny stuff happened..we could dance w/o looking over our shoulder!
overall 8/10 for the experience!
Disgusting staff behaviour
I have been to bars in almost every major city in India but I've never come across such disgusting behavior by the crew. Make sure that you pay the exact amount as your bill because if you pay more expecting change in return, it just will not come! The place seems to have a tacit policy of keeping the change without being asked to.
And if you do ask for your change back, do not dare to step on the dance floor for the bouncer will be signalled to remove you from the dance area because it is supposedly reserved only for couples. All this, when you can see groups of shady looking men harassing firang women on the dance floor. Needless to say they must be tipping (or bribing) the crew well!
The food and drinks are nothing to write home about either. Avoid at all costs.
Like a tennis match - back and forth
Don't be fooled by the picture, the lighting is so low you'll have trouble seeing the person next to you clearly. The music is a little loud but alright for close conversations. The drinks are nothing special, I've been down the drinks menu and feel like they need to hit me with something before I can even taste the alcohol. The food is alright although once I was served the wrong dish, i took a bite before realizing it wasnt what I ordered, imagine my surprise when I got my meal, the server looked apologetic and then took my munched into plate and served to to a couple of guys across the bar! Awesome layout and decor though, enough to impress anyone visiting. It couldnt really keep up with world cup spirit though all the staff wore football uniforms because the bars shut before most games begin! Alright for a visit or two occasionally.
My first impression of the bar when my friend and I walked in, was Wow! Where do we sit? and it was just 8:00 pm (on a Friday night though). The place was crowded and it took our hostess ten minutes before she found us two empty bean bags to sit atop of. Feeling quite fortunate, we hastily sat down. The alternative was to sit at the bar but I didn't want that. Once seated, we were handed the interestingly done (sheets of laminated paper attached to a clipboard and a cool idea in my book) food and drinks menus and I chose a cocktail which had Grey Goose vodka as its base. My friend settled for a Kingfisher Blue. We also ordered a plate of Reshmi kebabs. Our drinks arrived very quickly (amazingly quick actually, given the crowds of people there) and I must say that my cocktail was the best drink I have had in ages. It couldn't have been mixed better. The Kingfisher Blue was well... just that, a Kingfisher Blue. The crowd is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed peering through the dim lighting at the designer bags and clothes which people trotted in with. The ambience is perfect, just dim enough without being dark and there are loads of interesting sports paraphernalia on the walls. Also a cool flat screen on which a live IPL match was being mutely screened. The music was wonderful and it happened to be Karaoke night which made it doubly enjoyable. All my favorite hard rock tunes (I like about four) were played and the sound system is excellent. The seating is cool - couches, armchairs and for those "late comers" or those who simply prefer it, bean bags of all colors. There is also a smoking and non-smoking section which is something I, as a non-smoker am extremely appreciative of. The service is impeccable - quick, friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. The food... hmm.. well the Reshmi kebab we ordered didn't look appetising at all and it was the greatest reluctance that we swallowed half of the egg-coated kebab. If it weren't for the food, I would have rated this place a 5, for there is nothing else I can find to grouse about. Definitely worth a visit and one of the places I shall return to.. for the music, the ambience, the service, the seating, the drinks and anything other than a Reshmi kebab
Dance Like Nobody is Watching...
...And sing like you're home alone.
I'm new to Bangalore and decided to see what kind of entertainment I could enjoy here. A quick search for "Karaoke" on burrp! yielded a short list of places to choose from. I decided to take a couple of friends along tonight to check out Xtreme Sports Bar.
I have to point out, I'm from the United States and have only been in India for a month. To me, the term "Sports Bar" conjures up images of rowdy, unsophisticated men screaming at large television screens. I was, therefore, pleasantly surprised by the comparatively posh surroundings provided by Xtreme. Sure, there were a few screens showing tennis matches but the focus tonight was definitely on karaoke and socialization.
The drinks weren't exactly outstanding and it was rather busy so getting the bartender's attention sometimes took a bit of patience but, overall, the experience was great.
I definitely plan to go back again.
Really a sports bar??
A close friend whoâ??s getting engaged soon had to introduce us to his fiancé and since she lives in Indiranagar, we all zeroed in on the Xtreme Sports Bar on 100 Feet Road. Its in the same building as that of Reid and Taylor showroom. There are all possibilities of you missing the small board. A small narrow dingy place in the side leads you to the lift and the stairs that takes you to the bar. Itâ??s a very small lift and gets overloaded by 5 people in it. We decided to take the stairs as the bar was on 4th floor in addition to lack of patience to wait for the lift. This was the biggest mistake we did. The stair case is so dingy and dirty. If you are taking this way to the bar, mind you, please make sure there are known people around you. If thereâ??s a new person with you, he / she may think itâ??s a shady place. This place is totally dark, dirty and completely looks shady. We were kinda embarrassed taking my fiancé thru this path and had to apologize for the same.
Itâ??s a small bar in comparison to their branch on Bannerghatta Main Road. The one on Bannerghatta Road has ample space for tables, people and sports as well. This one looked like a miniature and it was totally packed on a Friday Evening. It was hard for me to any sports there. or it got hidden by so many people there that day?
A very loud music was played and Fridays are Karaoke nights there. So, there were quite a few who were singing really well and a few others were a total disaster.
Majority of the people in our gang wanted beer and got busy guzzling it. A few others settled for wine and the mocktail. The veg platter and some non-veg platter acted as a good accompaniment.
About the crowd, this place definitely attracts a better crowd compared to their branch in Bannerghatta Road. But, a very small place and they should make sure, the stair way is well lit and is clean. The total damage was close to 3K.
Not a very happening place and can easily be avoided in Indiranagar as there are many other better places to hang around!!
Bad compared to their Bannerghetta road location
I had been to the Banerghetta road location last week and decided to give the Indranagar one a try. The entrance is horrible - narrow gully leading to a tiny lift which makes all kinds of noises by the time you get to the 4th floor. The bar inside is quite OK with glass cubilces for privacy - mealnt for large groups. If you go alone or with 1 other person, you will have to sit in the bar stools. Overall very disappointing compared to their other location which I liked. I ordered the Long Island Iced Tea - the stuff was really strong - newbies will find it difficult to drown even one.
the worst place to hang out!!!
If you want to be treated as shit then this is the place to be. Unfriendly would have been a nice name for the place. The sports bar have only screens with live sports and girly music. You will be wondering wats wwrong. I hate the management. They suck. do not trust them cos they are just in for the money and not to keep the customers happy!!!
Overall ---- they suck and i won;t be visiting the place again.
its THE place to be at
xtreme sports bar is one killer place..there is so much to write about this place..if i start i would be very difficult to stop...anyways here i go...
xtreme sports bar is awesome on the tuesdays n fridays coz its karaoke nyt...one crazy nyt with the craziest of singers....n they also have a competition for the best singer of the day where they are suprised with amazing goodies!!!!
they also have rock nyts, retro nyts and reggae nyts with dj.collin who plays the best of these genres....he makes the crowd go all bonkers and its fabulous!!!!!!!
xtreme bruch is what i call "value for money" where we pay just rs.349/- and have unlimited food, vodka based cocktails, mocktails n beer...this starts from 11:30 am to 3:30pm on the weekends....the food is just so amazing that u wud never wanna stop eating!!!!!and the most experienced bartenders do what they do best....mixing n shakking up the fluids to sip with the kebabs!!!!!
all in all i feel this place is filled with entertainment all througout the week!!!! keep rocking xtreme sports bar!!!
a perfect Beer hangout
Its located in Indiranagar which makes it very convenient for me....the karaoke is fun....a lot of them singing i must say......
ya one thing....they call themselves sports bar....i dont see much happening on that front except a pool table and couple of flat screens ...screening cricket.and probaby other tv games........i think they can incorporate more.....
Sports is only an excuse!!
Well the first things that strikes you about the place - the large screen and the projector when walk in. The next this to hit you, the nice private rooms (with TVs) you can occupy if you are in a large group.
All good so far, but now the reality hits you! There is music on the speakers instead of sports fans cheering or commentary. The music too, is loud!!!! to a degree where would call it obnoxious! I have heard from other friends that during a major match they have commentary, but the day i went in , it was the india sri-lanka 3rd match! How much bigger do they want!
Then you finally sit down to get a drink, and guess what - they serve only foster on tap. Kingfisher pints are available. They have a few nice combo's on the menu, like the Beer Bucket and the snacks.
I did go back there, but not because the place was great, the location is good, easy for me to get to. They have an amazing offer on weekends - Rs. 250, unlimited Foster, 2 vodka shots per person, buffet (the less I say about the buffet, the better)..... but full paisa vasool!
Overall, AVERAGE, I wouldn't go there if it wasn't so close to home and work!
