Senior Linux Engineer

Division: IT Engineering | Type: Full time | Location: Mumbai

Responsibilities

Improve our existing web infrastructure based on Linux (we use CentOS), Apache, Resin, MySQL and Puppet.
Audit the system and recommend fixes.
Find problems in the current system and create a blueprint to fix them.
Find solutions to implement new requirements.
Test drive new application and architectures.
Implement new projects.
Create Standard Operating Procedures for operations.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in working with web servers on Linux.
2+ years of experience in supporting highly available web applications that are deployed on multiple servers .
Strong knowledge of architectures for high availability, reliability and scalability .
Strong knowledge of Puppet or any other open source configuration management tools.
Strong knowledge of Nagios or any other open source monitoring system.
Strong bash scripting skills.
Strong operational knowledge of Apache and MySQL.
Experience with customizing Linux operating systems for a small foot print, manageability, security and performance.
Working knowledge of networking.
Bonus points for operational knowledge of telephony solutions from Avaya, Genesys etc.
