Tiny cupcakes but pricey!
Ok, so my favourite place for cupcakes is The Cupcake Company but I decided to give this a shot because TCC has hiked their prices and reduced the size of their cupcakes! But what do you know? This place is priced the same and the cupcakes are even smaller! Bummer! The quality is good though the icing is a little average but overall they taste fine I would say. The variety is also good and the store is quite chic. But I think I am going to stick to TCC.
I have not visited the place. But, at a recent family function, cupcake boxes were being given to the guests (From Cupcakes Amore) and the few I sampled were just awesome!
They are the best cupcakes I can remember having tasted in India. I would have given them 5 stars for just the cupcakes but since I havent visited the place, I thought I would err on the side of caution (also, I'm miserly with my ratings) :).
Really worth a try!
P.S. Its really unfortunate that many of these small cafes/bakeries are relatively unknown while so-called patisserie/boulangerie (cos they all give themselves a 'french' stamp) chains give the impression that you cant get high quality desserts anywhere but in 5-star hotels. :/
A friend recommended this place to me and thought I must definitely give it a try. After trying three cupcakes here is my opinion:
Quality of Ingredients: 5/5 (I'm no expert but they taste really good)
Innovative flavours: 5/5
Working hours: 4/5 (Its very disappointing that I can't visit this place after work since I finish very late)
Hygiene: 5/5 (From what I can see)
The interiors are very tastefully done up. Very homely feel especially with the menu handwritten on a large blackboard. They even have a service that sends you a weekly email with all the latest flavours for that week. You can tell that they like their customers as much as they like their cupcakes!!!
Chic little place for a dessert
We tried cupcakes amore this afternoon after lunch, I had spotted the place while driving by a few days back and decided to give it a try today and it was definetly worth it :)
Very simple, quiet and composed place, away from all the hustle n bustle, one of the best part being, they have a small menu but a menu with quality, which is to be appreciated. Lovely ambience.
Excellent tasting cupcakes, we had the Malt Magic cupcake ( I could be wrong with the name, but it was something to do with malt), it was yummy and worth a try. Very light, but yet gives a nice feeling of a sweet dish. It is priced reasonably unlike other places, where you aren't satisfied with what you get for the money you pay.
My feedback to the cupcakes amore team : Keep up your good work and never step back on your quality, as we were very impressed with everything in your shop, right from the menu to the ambience and the service. Would be amazing if it all remained just the way it is now :)
We will definetly visit the place often :)
The best cupcakes ever!!!
By far the best cupcakes I have ever eaten. I was hooked after my first visit and make it a point to go there at least once a week. Their flavours are very innovative. My favourite is the ferrero rocher...can't ever have enough of those. I initially found the prices a little steep but after visiting some of the other cupcake shops in Chennai, it's actually quite reasonable and the high quality of ingredients used is very evident.
They have a new set of flavours every week, which is really cool. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend the homemade juices as well as the coffee which tastes exactly like my Mom's filter coffee.
While it isn't the easiest place to find, it makes the hunt worthwhile. The outdoor seating is best for cool evenings and unlike certain places, the staff really respect your privacy.
