Decent Food with even better pricing

Well, I've had my office right next to this eatery for a few years, and have eaten here umpteen number of times since this opened here. Wonder I didnt write a review for this !
Anyway, I'd like to put it very simply - good, tasty food with honest pricing. They are good at North Indian food, though they offer South Indian too. I'd suggest to stick to NI food, cos anyway, SI is available all around, even Sangeetha is close by.
Their thalis & phulkas, as others hv also mentioned, are worth trying, and my fav is their Marwari thali at Rs.65. Really filling and the decent bill only makes u feel better!!
Ofcourse, the downside is their cramped space, but then, thats how it is, that is all they've got, even the basement space is not enough. Service is good.
Its an average, middle-class budget eatery, very much worth a try.!

Good food, good parking but crampy...

Entering the premises itself is a relief with lot of parking space. But we wish the same about the space once we get inside the restaurant. With the space available, they have done best, hence the four star.
The food is northie primarily and is excellent in taste. Serving can be a bit better. Food suggestion is thalli, which is good.
Quite inexpensive to be a daily food joint, if they had offered a bit more varieties.

An interesting Thali & Paratha Joint

If you are able to overlook the slightly small space around you, this is a fairly good value for money joint. The phulka thali@ Rs.60 is very good indeed with unlimited thalis and sabzi's of the day apart from dal. Also worth trying are the parathas- they have so many varieities of them including- mushroom, spring onion, sweet corn, channa & so on.They also have chaat in the evenings & South Indian varieties as well which I'm yet to check out.

Crumpy, Avoid

I really expected with the 4 stars previously given to this place. Tables were full, I think people had come in here after seeing the review in leading newspaper. But it is nothing as expected. The food doesnt taste good. Better avoid this place

Phulkas pull!

For all the publicity that they seem to have got, this place is worth a visit, pocket-friendly place! Their phulkas are super soft and try their gobi, it tastes better than their paneer! Having a chaat variety adds to the charm when you go there in the evenings!

Good food

Thanks all who have written the review for this restaurant...without which i would not have gone to this place...as per advice from Rohit...one of our members ordered for Phulka thali...and enjoyed it ... it was awesome food and great hospitality. Though there is possibility for improvement in ambiance...I would still give it a full thumbs up for the quality of food provided...all was great...and we friends had a great time..and full worth for money...

GOOD FARE

Their phulka thali is a must try with unlimited refills, priced at Rs.50 only. The ambience is simple & homely and the service personnel are willing to serve with a smile. The food is well prepared and tasty, yet light on the stomach, just enough for a quick business meal.

Tasty food at tasty prices!

If you are looking for tasty and affordable vegetarian food and are somewhere around Egmore, then you could as well head to this new place. Curries offers good food at reasonable prices in a decent set up. The menu has south indian - Idly and Dosas plus a big list of Rotis, parathas, sabzis and rice items, it has some chaats as well.

I had Phulkas, tawa parathas and paneer sabzi - all tasted good and wholesome. They have a big list of tawa parathas - I had aloo garlic and corn paratha both were yummy priced Rs 28 each. They also have thalis during lunch priced less than 70 rupees or so.

Meal for two would not cost you more than Rs 200-250. They have two levels and service is quick (went for dinner and was not crowded so..). Overall, it worth a try and if you are forever looking for affordable food and a decent place then this is definitely a place you can consider.

Tasty and Extremely affordable

I happened to hear from this place from my husband who has been going here for lunch everyday since this place opened..., and decided to check it out last week. The restaurant is small and would occupy around 30-40 people at a time.. and it gets real crowded during lunch hours, as people from the nearby companies have made it their lunch time haunt. The ambience is above average and the service is real quick. The restaurant serves south and north indian food and chats...and is very very reasonably priced.

I ordered their phulka thali... which comes with unlimited phulkas, 3 sabjis, curds, pickle and papad, for Rs.50.. and the phulkas are melt in your mouth soft... delicious!!! The restaurant also offers south indian and marwari thali, and a huge variety of parathas, all of which i shall try in the future visits.

overall.. a very nice place to go to.. for a quick and affordable meal.
