Very unhygenic food

Visited newly opened Thalapakatti branch at DLF, Porur last weekend around late night. V.Biriyani was served with a half headed dead fly. It is not sufficient just to provide neat interior with good ambience to customers. Food must also be cooked inside kitchen under hygeinic conditions. My sincere advise is to always consume home-made food and to avoid hotels in general as much as possible.

Awful service at Ashok Nagar Branch

We had tried out the Veg biryani at their Nungambakkam branch. It was amazing.Keeping that in mind, we visited the very recently opened Ashok Nagar branch.Ambience is good , but when we asked for veg biryani and veg spring rolls. The reply we got was "Its over sir, order something else'.The time was 7.45 pm, which was a good time for eating dinner. We were so taken aback. We instead ordered nan and mushroom sabji. The gravy was very spicy and was tasteless. After paying the bill, we went to the front desk on the ground floor and asked them for the reason. No one was least interested to answer us. The reply we got was 'today we have recevied very less quanitiy of the veg biryani'.We were so baffled with the reply.

Another point, the waiters never clear the table after the soup and the starters for the main course. They stand in groups and talk, never bothered to even look at the customers calling for assistance.

Even though they have good advertising in all newspapers and good lighting and good ambience, nothing beats the shortage of food.

Worst Seeraga Sambha Rice Puliyogre Biryani

I agree with Malavika and Vishan.

Sell your best Seeraga Sambha Rice Biryani In Dindugal.

This is Chennai and dont cheat Chennai people.

It looks like puliyogre rice mixed with Chicken or Mutton.

Their Meen Kari Parota really smells bad. All mutton dishes were really not cooked well.

Thalappakatt(i) and thalappakatt(u) are different.

Mr. Varun must be working in Thalappakatti or some what associated with Dindugal Thalappakatti Restaurant.

1st he has wriiten the review for Thalapakkat(u) and not for Thalapakkat(i).

Ask your Thalapakkati owners to serve biryani according to the taste of Chennaites and not in their own style with seeraga sambha rice with mutton.

Puliyogre rice served in a small hotel is better than this Thalappakatti biryani.

Best Biriyani in Chennai

Here we get the best biriyani in Chennai. You will be tempted to visit Thalapakkatu again and again just to taste their biriyani. When I think of biriyani this restaurant comes to my mind first. But the other items are as same quality as other restaurants. I can give 5 stars for their best biriyani.

Change the profile picture and so as your biryani

The profile picture is of some good basmathi rice biryani makers in Chennai.

Change the name to Seeraga Sambha Thalappakatti Biryani restaurant and the owners should taste thier biryani themselves to change completely.

Dont cheat the people of Chennai.

Hopeless - Dont with high expectation!!!!

I visited their branch in Velachery on Nov 22, 2010 and am sorry to say, "The taste and quality of food was terrible". Mutton Biriyani had smoked smell and was hopeless. The chicken gravy was too too salty and I had to return it back immediately after scolding the waiter. What is this? Are they running a hotel or something else! Above all this… the time taken to bring a single biriyani is so long, I hope they are not PREPARING biriyani after we order!!! Customer must get something good in return for the price we pay. But here i dont see that at all... Do take note and improve taste, service and quality of food. For now, i would strongly ask people not to go there with high expectation.

Inbetween Good and Average

The Biryani was definitely good if not as great as hyped. The place is a bit crowed and the tables are put too close to each other. But a lot of thought is gone into detailing and can be seen on the pictures displayed on the walls. The service is also fast .

I need TASTE!!!!!

If "Thalappakatti" briyani is the authentic briyani they claim, then I have been brought up tasting briyani the "Unauthentic" way and I like it so. as another reviewer put it rightly, anna nagar outlet does serve better( but not as good as the unauthentic briyani i was brought up tasting)briyani and lot more too. why this partisan? the food was nothing to excite.
the service was pretty good ( but sure I dont pay only for that).
go, if you need your ego to be massaged. the guys will treat u well. dont , if you need your taste buds to be tickled.

Not money's worth

Thalappakatti Restaurant is not a great place for dining. The people managing the outlets are totally clueless on the focus areas and are always present them as the confused bunch of people.

Not tastes as good as Anna Nagar

Food doesnt tastes as good as Anna Nagar and the quantity is also lesser here. Dont remember the prices though. Bearers not knowing Tamil / English didnt help. I dont know Hindi and dont expect to know that to dine in a Dindugal Restaurant!

South Indian Biryani jambavan !

I've tasted their Biryanis starting from Dindigul, Bathlagundu and now at Nungambakkam, just got no words to appreciate the quality of their stuff. Ah ! the mingling flavour in the mouth will touch the mind in no time once anyone takes a mouthfull of their biryani.Their secret recipe, rice or the method or could be even more only they knew their style to bring that finishing in the biryani.
India own a numerous biryanis pertained to a particular region, but these people are the only one who own a unique type of biryani pertained to themself alone ! And no where else one could taste the same or better anywhere else .
I love their biryani so I love to exhilarate that !
