Good Service, Average Food
My husband is a regular here and suggested I try the food given my love for authentic Italian fare. The antipasti was delicious, especially the cold cuts of meat. A special mention to the Basa fish with capers and tomato. It was delicious. The grilled meat was succulent with the chicken being perfectly cooked.Main course was a tad disappointing. The pizza lacked in flavour and variety and the pasta was under-cooked. Upon questioning the chef he mentioned that's how it was supposed to be but I doubt that's the case. The Gnocchi was dense with the potato flavour missing. Unfortunately the day we visited the air-conditioner had a few issues and the place was hot. Due to this the array of desserts melted which strangely no one seemed to care about. The mango mousse had a more juicy consistency. So I reported the issue. The manager dealt with it immediately and offered the a la carte menu. They served the desserts we ordered from the menu which were a far cry from what was offered at the buffet. The panacotta was the creamiest and the tiramisu had lovely flavour. Best of all we weren't charged for it. Overall I think I would go back if not for the food then for the service.
Good but !!
Although its expensive compared to other similar Italian fares in the city, the ambiance more than makes up for it. The candles and the silence makes for a perfect dinner setting. The Menu is pretty short and there is not much variety in the Pizzas. But the quality of the Pizzas more than make up for the lack of variety. The Pastas are average and expensive.
The best part though is their Tiramisu served from a big bowl. The taste makes you want to have more. Would keep going back for that alone.
Got a chance to dine here yester'nite; thanks to you 'Burrp!!' and Yes bank. Awesome food & great foodies! :)
The dessert- Tiramisu was just AWESOME!! Its the best in Chennai, for sure.
Aubergine Mousse & Duck Risotto was great too.
Its a MUST CHECK-OUT destination for Italian-loving foodies!
Best Italian Food in Town
Chef's Dinner Table, which I was selected for, gave me the chance to try out authentic italian food. The food arrangement reminded me of masterchef and I was craving to dig in. We were offered beer as welcome drink and toasted to good food in the breezy balcony. We had a five course meal ended with the best tiramisu in town! Kudos to Chef Messi :)
Tasty Italian fare
It's the Itlaian restaurant attached to the 365 A.S bar at The Hyatt Regency, Chennai. Although the menu doesn't offer a really wide variety, you'll still find something to suit your taste. I tried the Quatrro Formaggi (Four cheese Pizza) and it tastes divine. They also have a mushroom pizza with artichokes which also tasted really really good. Their pizza with pesto and chicken is also worth a try. The baked canneloni was also pretty decent but not something you would crave for time and again.
Worth a Try
Expensive but worth it... The immediate attraction for choosing Focaccia is the menu spread and they also serve wine along with the dinner :-)
The ambience is too good and well suited in the heart of chennai. Need to share about the taste of the food which is really awesome.
Some thing we can't forget about the focaccia is the grandeur and also the wide spread of the food. Dont miss it :)
Great italian food
Me and my brother went there for Sunday lunch. He ordered a Veg Pasta and i ordered a beef lasagna, both were pretty good. Especially the Lasagna was outstanding. Veg pasta was also good, but the pasta could have been cooked a bit more. We had Cannolis for desert and that also tasted very nice.
Service was good and the ambiance also was good. All the restaurants are located in lobby level, which gives the place more of a food court look than 5* restaurant. Atleast they could have placed some in roof top with good views of the city.
Price were 5*. Meal for 2 costed us 2000
