been to influence twice now in almost a month's time. the interior's are done brilliantly . truly distinctive and royal . the saeting arrangement is very spacious . the sofa's are very comfortable though a litlle low. coming to the food. they have a great variety of starters. we tried the dahi wale kabab, paneer tikka, corn sheekh kebab. i must say that the taste&presentation was even better than a five star hotel. the daho wale kebab is jus amazing . the other starters were also good. the main course was dal, malai kofta, paneer lababdar. all in all its great. must admit that even after eating more than normal, did'nt feel heavy. this shows that the ingredients used are top grade. reallly outstanding plave to celebrate occassions and freeze memories !!!
This is a new multicuisine restaurant designer in Chennai, owned by Manish Malhotra. As soon as I came to know about it and read that even Waiters wear Manish Malhotra there, Iw as so curious to see it. Yesterday we thought of dining there. This is in Egmore near Dasprakash. It must be the first restaurant where the outer wall is completely transprent glass. Restaurant is on forst floor.
Entrance is wow with all that pink roses in water and then seating is very spacious.I just loved it..its comfortable, good to look and with sufficient privacy.
Now the food..they have north Indian food and pasta and pizza also. For a couple they have a package wherein you can get two soup, two starter, four main course and 2 desserts for 699/--only.
We started with golden tomato soup with saffron cream......it was yummy, this is the first time I liked soup outside, otherwise I dont ever take it outside..perfect creamy. served it a bread stick.
In the starters we chose.. dahi ware kabab and paneer tikka.....they are served in a long plate with green chatney....Kabab were delicious and my H liked even tikka also, and I really tasted this type of green chatney after a long time.
In the main course we had....vegetable khurchan and lawabdar paneer with alu kulcha and paneer kulcha...This is the first time in chennai where he brought green chatney, papad( rolled beautifully in cones), onion rings and pickle with the food.
Both the vegetables were good. For me Khurchan was a little spicy, as I love bland food. Paneer was very tasty and sowere the kulchas.
In desserts we took..Kulfi and gulab jamun with icecream.
Kulfi was more like Rabri, and tasy, icecream was just ok but gulabjamun was very good.
I know that we are going to frequent it very often.
Ambiance...Good because here most of the restaurants are cramped, and here even cutlery is very special.
Service....is good with a smile.
Rates..I think very reasonable, if taken a.la carte..soups for 65/- main course..95/..and mocktails 95/--, for us quantity was more than sufficient, as we had to leave half of the vegetable, but otherwise its ok.
But for the waiters wear..I was expecting something different..something in Manish Malhotra style, but was dissappointed, nothing special, I didnt like even, would have prefered if he had given some traditional wear with a different style to their uniforms..here waiter were wearing black shirt and trouser with a little embroidery and other staff beige and black...both looking very drab and dull.
arrogance in hospitality industry
Though this restaurant boasts of high quality food and service with all types of gimmicks like dining in within specified limited time for a fixed amount etc.,it is a pity how such restaurants are allowed to function in hospitality industry where in the staff have a very rude arrogant behaviour and the service is the worst.
Having been to the restaurant with some indian guests from overseas, they were shocked to observe soup and dinner being served together and the indian breads half burnt. On asking, we were told by Mr.Lokesh (waiter incharge) and Mr. Kuldeep (floor manager)this is what we serve and argued till the end with arrogance and rude attitude. We have it in writing from them on the company's suggestion card that the food was served cold and delayed due to their fault.
When such is the case of arrogance and lack of service in a restaurant which claims tall stories of reputation, a consumer is just taken for granted, stern action must be taken against the concerned people for denting the hospitality industry.
They are not only ruining the designers name but also misguiding the public in general.
Nice Ambience & very spacious
although the interiors of influence is attractive but its food is not really that gr8t..!. They have a buffo system which costs Rs 350/- per head. The main course is not that attractive also the starters sucks..the most interesting part was the desserts which is what covinced me some what. They had a wide range of desserts around 12 & tasted real good. The seats were very low & the table was at chest level height which made it uncomfartable for dining. Its a Pure VEGETARIAN hotel. Also the parking space is inadequate. The restaurant has been given a star rating just because of its ambience this is what i can understand from it....but the food is not worth it. The worst part is if u need to wash your hands u need to go to the 3rd floor which is weird & absolutely makes no sense. The reason why i gave a 3 star to it is just for its interiors + its very spacious which makes u feel comfortable.
