Buffet at Kebab Court is Very Good

We had gone for a team lunch to Kebab court and we had the buffet there, overall the food was good, but they could definitely have more items in the main course (both veg and non-Veg) for the price, Starters, and the sweets were really very good. The ambience was good and there was a decent crowd when we went there.
However the service needs a bit of improvement and also the ice cream was not good.

This past Sunday

This past Sunday, we decided to try out Kebab Court at Velachery. While the ambience is decent, the food leaves a lot to be desired. The Chawal ka Chicken was a disaster, tough pieces of chicken wrapped around spiced undercooked rice that reeked overly of garam masala. The Kabuli naan had bhuna chana stuffed inside it!!! And the kadhai jingra was half submerged in oil. The only thing we found palatable was the sweet lime juice.
Zero value for the price, this place needs to be given a miss. There's definitely nothing good about the kebabs here.

expensive for no reason !!!!!

Way too expensive!!!! for the quality of service and the shoddiness they showed for an average cost of 600 per head ...Unbelievable...We were kind not to yell at them n spoil their mood before we left :) Will definitely give at a miss next time ...:( I believe this business has a lot of reputed outlets everywhere...If this is the level of service we get then I guess there are surviving for other good reasons - Maybe the Velachery branch is the only branch which is sub standard !

STRONGLY AVOIDABLE.

STRONGLY AVOIDABLE. It all happened 1st March 2012, My friend & me wanted to go to a good restaurant.some guy told me to try at this place. listening to him is the biggest mistake of mine. Pathetic Service & very expensive.

we reached the very place by 8:30pm. we found most of the tables were empty( we fools dint grasp there). the lighting and ambiance is so so.,
no steward or captain there servers were like the waiters in Irani cafe. He handed us Menu and stood there we told him to give some time to have a look at Menu. He went and came back after 30-45 seconds and asked what we want. He was in a hurry as if the entire house was filled but there were hardly two tables were occupied and there were 7-8 waiters standing without any work. We asked him about the starters whether spicy or semi spicy and about pieces. He was in no mood to give reply but told in his Tamilenglish ascent that chicken kebab is available, but didn't even tell us which type of kebab is. As we were very hungry we told him to get that kebab and schejwan fried rice & chicken Biryani.

after fifteen mins. He came up with three kebab sticks. They were OK. after that he braught Biryani& fried rice. It was Horrible. The worst ever Birayni that I have ever tasted. I asked him which type of Biryani was that. He told it was Lucknow biryani but it is not at all bearable.

For the first time in my life I omitted biryani as it tasted very pathetic.

He mean while he was continuously asking whether we want any thing more.
finally he came up with bill. he charged local made water bottle 35 rupees and the Kebab 400 rupees and Biryani 215 Rupees.fried rice some 160. total 805. . . I can tell you confidently Even small towns in andhra can serve much delicious food than this restaurant with in half the price of it.
We asked there whether they have any feed back or complaint Register but they dont have. total waste of money. Now I am searching for my friend to bang him for suggesting me to try there .

IT is STRONGLY AVOIDABLE.

Wish I'd checked the reviews on Burrp first!

You'd rather spend that cash somewhere else.

Probably the most expensive restaurant in the velachery area. Well it's not THAT expensive...around 400 per head, but it's simply not worth it.

The ambience is decent, so is the service....it's the food that disappoints here. The tastes are only average at best. The Kebabs that cost around 200 each, just don't satisfy a kebab lover. None of the dishes really do. It's not bad really, but for that price, it would certainly leave you unsatisfied.

You'd rather spend more elsewhere for better food!

Must Avoid

We entered Kebab Court for the first time after hearing 2 bad reviews from our friends, hoping that its not that bad. We were 4 and the place was totally free, felt happy expecting good service but what happened was opposite.

Too high cost for the quality and the service they provide.

I will never ever recommend any to go over there. And the main thing to mention is when i am done with the awful food requested the waiter to remove my plate (mind it you have to request many times to get something from them even after paying so much of money). Waiter came and removed all our 4 plates, one my friend was totally stunned as he was eating and was half way when the waiter removed the plate.

Good when crowd is less..

Food and service are good when there is less crowd.
On weekends and busy nights, service is very poor as they have limited people to service the customers, waiting time increases and food quality degrades. ambiance is alright.. For ice creams visit the place downstairs ...

Ok to Go!

Can go for their kebabs... Though costly its the only decent place near velachery where u can hav a quiet dinner with ur family and friends... Service is good and Nazakat Biriyani is good... I like their home delivery offers too... Not a must try but can try!

A pricy affair for average food!

The place has a lot of kebabs on offer but the two Kebabs I ordered failed to impress me much. And at 215 per Kebab I felt they were a bit too costly for their taste. The ambience is good and service good too but honestly the prices can be reviewed coz I have had delicious Kebabs for half that price at other places.

Would I go again...NO.

Avoidable

Ambience - good

Food - bad to average depending on what you order. They say they specialize in Lucknowi food, but I found their Galauti kababs to neither look nor taste like the real thing.

Service - a notch below average

Nice food

I took my team for small outing there. I went first time there, form out side restaurant building looks good. Even, on the top floor of restaurant building has famous O2 GYM. So you can eat nice non veg kabab's without thinks about exxxxxtra calories. Alright let me come back on my point. In first look restaurant looks beautiful from inside, nice wooden and flooring work. I gives 3.5 out of 5 for interior.

Service: I find service is above average. Staff was responding not fast and not quick, so they were not in hurry as well not calm too.

Food: The time when I went restaurant was running Lakhnauai festival, I was expecting to get something which I never had, but I did not find any such food. Even I felt bed then I saw there was very few options for veg curries. (:- but find more non-veg of variety dishes or options are available.
I do have Veg+Egg+Fish (Not know what to say), mean not a PAKKA Vegi. I ordered fish tikka and veg platter ( combination of 4 veg starters). I find tikka was awesome but veg platter was not good all stuff other then paneer in platter was kind of non eatable. In main course I ordered Mung DAl and Kabul Chana Dal both were awesome. But when I see the quailty of methi roti's I feld very bed, no methi in methi roti they jsut sperad methi powdee after cooking.

I give rating 2.5 out of 5 for veg and 3.5 for non veg.

Cost: this place cost you 350 to 400 each head. but I felt it littel bit more, I was expecting this to be between 300 to 350 ( 50 more per head).

Finally, I want to say if you get the change please visit the restaurant at least once, you will enjoy the road seating on view.

Good service even at midnite!

This is one of the very few restaurants open at mid nite in velachery, that is if you leave alone the many fast food places which by this time start stinkin i have noticed and r not so safe for a girl to jump in all alone with huge shoppin bags in her hand at an ungodly hour. This place is really sophisticated and has a great ambiance made with class. There were actually a few couples dining at this time too.

There was only the veggie biryani and a few kebabs available. Although i was disappointed with no lassi to go with the yummy biryani, i shud forgive them since it was closin time and was grateful that they let this hungry soul in while cleaning up the tables for the day, without a word! So i was happy to get the lemon soda they offered instead. The pepper panner starter was too good and for a north-west frontier restaurant, they definitely didnt disappoint their veggie customers. The raitha was good too, i was half hopin it to be sour by now.

Anyways, the service was patient even at the time the kitchen was closing down which does not happen too often even in high-class restaurants. Moreoever, i cancelled the rabri i had ordered for dessert since the food was too filling in itself, which was accepted without any problems too.

I would definitely love to go bak here once in broad day-lite, enjoy the decor and the friendly service and of course i need to try out a lot more dishes from the menu too. This is a much much better option than Kalinga in the same complex to spend ur money and fill ur tummy on.
