Nair's Mess Reviews

Seafood Heaven

Visiting Nairs Mess was on the list for quite some time. Finallt went to this place for a sunday lunch to savour some fish fry and fish curry. And we were not disappointed at all.. Place looked clean and the waiters were polite.. we ordered fish meals and the vanjaram fish piece with soicy tangy curry tasted yum with rice...vanjaram fish fry is a must order..what came as a surprise package was the delicious prawn fry..cooked perfectly in all masalas...we were not able to savour the chicken biriyani as they had only mutton biriyani... love this place..easy on the pocket and fish cooked to perfection

Super Lunch

went to this mess after loads of review from my friends, WOW! u will not get place to Sit during lunch time, lots of Office ppl and ppl from nearby MLA hostel visit this place. After some struggle to find a place, we managed to get one. We were suggested to try Vanjiram Fry and their Briyani, unfortunately the Briyani was over and so we ended ordering Meals with Vanjiram Fry. Really value for money!!! Their fry was awesum! To eat, u just need some patience and little bit of adjusting with others ofcourse!

Value for money !!

Had been to Nair's mess last week - it's great value for money. Lovely flaky porottas, reminds me of the ones I have in Kerala with their chicken chops and fry along with the gravies you get are excellent. You may not have much choices - they are really good with the ones they have. Cool place to go.

One of the rare good mess type restaurants Chennai

All the dishes are awesome... First floor has AC... Vanjaram Fish Fry and Mutton Chukka are nice... The food has a slight Mallu touch... Biriyani is very tasty and their gravies are delicious... Omlet is soft and spongy... a must try place if ur a foodie

Value for Money Non-Veg Restaurant

After watching my colleagues regularly visting this spot, i decided to give it a try. Located in a small gully, this hotel certainly makes one feel that good food will bring people from anywhere they are. A truely value for money restaurant serving meals for Rs. 45 and add ons as per consumption. The fish fry was heavenly and the best i've ever tasted. And those omelets, WoW!!! such spongy and makes you gulp more and more..... especially with my fav combination of Rasam rice. We tasted Mutton biryani... a spongy, soft rice with juicy mutton pieces. We felt very contented with the food and the service and felt bad for not having come here for this long. Ambience is simple but neat. Service is impeccable.

good food

I am surprised that no one has written a review for this place. I went to this place with my father, 20 years back as a kid. The Place then was a one storied building with an asbestos sheet. The Place was hot and the fish was fierry, which brought tears in my eyes. The taste was awesome that I still remember, the place. 2 months back, I went with my wife. Now the building is a 2 storied building, nice and airy. The food was really good. The Chicken curry and fish curry were good. The Chicken masala was really good. They serve meals and biriyani. The Brain masala was a let down . Overall a nice experience. Will take my entire family, shortly.
