This place has the whole upscale upmarket thing going on and it is also on upstairs :) They happily displayed their burrp reviews on the wall which incidentally also made the decision for this restaurant for us. But all that must be for all the non vegetarians who were visibly having a good time .Their menu is heavily populated with sea food which even the waiters recommended, so as I said if you are a non vegetarian you may have a good time.
The actual food we ordered
Spicy potato - I don't know why they put only potato like spicy potato or potato 65 in the menu , it doesn't have any extra taste to appease our taste buds and it almost always stays bland.
Cheese balls - Which were tasteful. For quite sometime now we are on the quest to find the best Cheese balls in town and these here came a close second for the first in Cream Center. :)
Chilli garlic noodles,
Schezwan fried rice,
Five spice Manchuriann gravy - All had your typical Indo-Chinese taste.
Authentic chinese food that is worth every penny. A bit on the pricier side .... but it is fine. The service is extremely good and the food is splendidly cooked. Your food can be customized to suit your taste buds and that is the USP of this place. The place is best suited for group dining. But, the parking is a bit of a hassle.
I and a group of friends had gone for a quite meal. Even though, there was ample time for the kitchen to close, we were being bullied into ordering soups, starters and main courses. Once the food was served, it actually took fifteen minutes for a waiter to lister to our cries for a spare fork. After settling the bill, the waiters seemed impatient to get us out of our seats. And then came the magic moment. Its a funny experience to have the door of a restaurant literaly slammed behind you.
If you ok with all those insults, the food, especially the spinach and mushroom fried rice is good
Horrible Service and Pathetic attitude of staff
We entered the Cascade at 2:30 and the first thing the waiter said is hurry up, you have to give the order soon. So we did give the order quickly as we were pretty hungry. After I ordered everything he asked is this the last order? I said without seeing the servings we cant say. You bring the servings and then we will tell you the last order. As soon as they brought it I said we would like to have dessert. Immediately another waiter got in the way and said only chocolate strawberry ice cream (which we can very well get in the below Arun ice cream shop. So I said dont you have specialities. I remember having fried ice cream. The immediate cut short answer is KITCHEN IS CLOSED. Well from his facial expression I could read the rest of what he said "Get the hell out of here". What the hell?? We paid 1165 of which 121 itself was service charge (not service tax), VAT was extra. And this is the level of service. They are costly. Definitely dont go here for any celebration or an experience. It is the WORST SERVICE I have ever seen. We will have to TELL the servers please serve it. They will just keep it on the table and vanish. These are not dishes that one person can have. So atleast they can ask, "Can I serve?" if they were in doubt instead of just throwing the dishes around in the name of service. I will tell you you will get better service in Balaji bhavan or vasantha bhavan than this! Food is ok. Nothing great.. Waste of money and embarassment for me on taking my guests there!
Authentic Chinese food but slow
Food has very authentic taste and great taste. Portions are large so need to make sure order carefully or you end up with lot of food. Service is quite slow and they are very crowded to get a seat. After couple of times waiting and service being slow i prefer home-delivery from here, however plan for an hour to deliver.
I think I wrote a review earlier on this place, and magically it vanished.Anyway,if someone found it too blunt and brutal,I can justify.
You know when there's some leafy vegetable in your fridge and you forget its there and then after two months you discover it,rotten and gooey and slimy? Our soup smelt EXACTLY like that. Not just that, they warmed up the bowl nicely. The soup was COLD.
The noodles we ordered had warm veggies in them and the noodles were stark cold.
We left the food untouched, and the cashier, waiter, manager smiled and said "good night saar, good night ma'm"..
It was prison food,honestly.
Highly NOT recommended.
Please dont remove my review this time.I'm less brutal now.
Good Food, but service is damn slow.
My Girl friend suggested me this place.
The ambiance was good. We did not have to wait for the table, So we were lucky that ways.
Hygiene was good.
The food was served damn slow, and we had to wait for almost an hour for the food. Hence I got pissed off by the service.
The soup, which was served was great. It was perfect, very Chinese (Unlike Indian, which is much spicy).
The main course was Ok. Nothing exceptional.
Had been to Casacade Anna NAgar before also. Food has been good.
Last time I went there it was an horrifying experience.
This happened 4-5 months back. I went there with family, They gave us a seat and we requested for a table with sofa on one side as my kid was also there. The person was extremely reluctant to seat us in a sofa. The restaurant was not crowded either. After much persuasion,we were seated. Then we asked for the menu and the menu was given after 10 minutes.
We waited for 15 minutes for someone to come and take the order. Then we called them up and asked to take order. Still nobody bothered to take the order.
We waited for ten more minutes and walked out, and still no one bothered to ask why were leaving without having food.
So, i have taken a wow not to visit this place in the future.
I've been to all the Cascade branches in the city and Cascade never disappoints. I've tried their volcano chicken, deep fried corn chilli coriander, crispy chilli chicken, pepper chicken, lollipop chicken, veg gold coin, veg baskets and few more starters. I can say everything that I tried were good.
Coming to their main course I personally prefer their schezwuan noodles which are spicy and go perfectly well with their hunan chicken. I have tried their chilli garlic fried rice and schezwan fried rice which is really good. For dessert they have the now ubiquitous fried icecream but now a days I prefer going to Arun unlimited icecream downstairs and have a scoop of my fav icecream!!
Perfect for (chinese) Food Lovers
This place was introduced by my friend, he said you would get the large quantity for the large?!?! amount you pay here. If you are looking out for economy pack food, then this place isn't your choice, but when you look at the quantity for the amount you pay + the good quality food( i just gave 5 stars ), then this is an excellent place. The ambience, service was also excellent. Try once to get the taste of recipes. you will surely agree with me.
One of the best in town
I have been to this place many times.I have almost tasted every item. Most of them are excellent.Another upside is that the quantity is very good.On the downside though, I must warn you it is a little bit expensive. But compared to Mainland China, it is relatively cheap. It is worth the taste and quantity. It is a Chinese speciality restaurant.
If you are a Chinese food aficionado, go for it!!!!!!!
Three of us had a dinner with mixed veg soup which was ok, prawns with spices starters which was mildly spicy and tangy but tasty, veg fried rice which was reasonably good, schewan chicken fried rice mildly spiced and good and some lamb gravy which tasted like big sized noodles but passable.
The portions were quite large, a single fried rice should be enough for two people.
The restaurant seems understaffed but waiters were quite efficient.
Overall worth a visit.
This place serves chinese food & my taste buds loved em!
We had pepper chicken (looked delicious but didnt get to hav it as the portion was small), some mutton preparation (which was really good!), gold coins (yummy) & some crispy spinach thingy (they were sweet..yuck!).
For the main course, we had you mein noodles (very yummy), ginger & garic fried rice (good), prawns fried rice (pretty good), the veg hot pot (really spicy n tasty), the hot n sweet prawns (too sweet...avoid it) & some gravy with fish (amazing!).
For dessert, we had brownie with ice cream (really good), peach melba (just ok...fresh peaches wud hav been better than canned ones), fried ice cream (very different..must try!) & chocolate coated lychees (pretty good but then again the lychees were canned ones...)
Total damage for a meal for 7 sans drinks: Rs 2700 (approx)
Not bad at all! Definitely worth a try!
