Authentic And Tasty Chinese Food
When we feel like eating Chinese food it is always Wonton - Abhirampuram. They have a great home delivery service, good preparation of food with less oil, large portions and very good pricing. They give quality food at reasonable prices. I love their Lollypop Chicken the most. Never eaten anything like this before :)
Wonton is our regular lunch spot and we quite enjoy the Chinese food there. Having tried almost all the dishes in the menu, I am yet to come across something which I have not liked. And they have super fast service and huge portions, so quite economical. Also, it's one of the few places where the waiters pour water in your glass as soon as you run out of water, even without you asking! It may seem like a trivial thing, but makes the eating experience really comfortable.
All in all, a great place with a quaint feel to it and delicous food.
Small Yet Great!
This is a very small place which feels more like a home than a restaurant - the interiors are plain with just tables and chairs :) Like many chinese restaurants in the city, the portions are huge and the prices are reasonable! We ordered for a sour n pepper chicken soup which was served really hot! Just loved it! And then we ordered only starters - golden fried baby corn (awesome!) + chilly fish (awesome again) + pepper chicken drumsticks (tooooooooooo good! was wonderfully cooked!) + chicken momos (big in size and quantity!).
We finished it off with desserts (yeah! no main course!!! :D)... - fried icecreams (normal and usual) and a date pancake with ice cream (good)
Overall just loved the food here! The bill came upto..... I dunno how much! it was a treat given by my friend! :D but I am sure it was easy on her pocket!
I wonton more!
There is little to say about the ubiquitous chinese restaurants dotting the city. But there are only a handful that really serve the best of authentic chinese varieties. Wonton is one such. The restaurant is hidden amidst trees in one of the quiet lanes of abhiramapuram. It is attached to a fast food outlet called Krispy Cream which has varied menu and a salad bar. Also available are confectionery, pastas and burgers, milk shakes and a different kinds of breads. They are together run by one Ms. Shobha Gwalani who even takes party orders.
Coming back to the restaurant, the food is yummy and sumptuous. As is the case with most of the chinese restaurants, the portions are quite large. You can order one rice variety and a gravy for two persons. Its been a while since i had been there so i'm unable to recollect the names.
1.Dragon chicken and pepper chicken are just heaven. Chicken pieces in a thick gravy with right amount of spices. Its just amazing!
2. Singapore rice: My all-time fav.
Some of their crispy starters that are simply yummy but i can hardly recollect the names. Maybe next time ill make a note :)
