Thank God its Friday @1 Cafe
I have visited this place like umpteen times but its spectacular Friday nights beat all the other run of the mills restaurant's Friday stuff!
Their music to begin with is a mix of an in-house drummer rolling some spectacular drum beats and giving tough competition to him is the DJ who makes us swing our heard and tap our feet on some melodious sufi rhythm.
Damn Good one+one offers on drinks! And my food pick is always a thin crust pizza with a full plate of Nachos, scrumptious cheese spread all over it with a tart flavour of spices makes you want to relish it with your beer perhaps!
The staff is courteously hovering around to serve you with more booze and more food, they just want keep you comfortable!
Been here with my guy friends, my girl friend, my office colleagues and still can't seem to get enough of their Fridays!
I lik eit
Quite a good place.
They offer good non veg choices.
Good italian menu. Bet you cannot finish their lasagne at own!
Hookah served is nice.
Lounge feel is good as well.
However, the staff fails to comfort you when you enter.
Another thing i have noticed twice is that they price the same dishes differently each time.
Just be careful.
experience on friday evening
The place has great food being a unit of the famous food chain , good interiors, nice ambience though very less lighted. The place is easy on the pocket in comparison to others.
It is the only restaurant that has everything good about it, and has been consistent in its quality as i am a regular.
earlier the name was qashqai and I used to get discount with wowdining card. They have listed it on http:// www.wowdining.com
Now 1 cafe lounge has also started giving discounts on WowDining Cards. I just love this place and the ambience location music is just perfect.
must visit once
Excellent Food, Weekend Happy Hours!
My first visit to QashQai on the opening weekend less than one year ago for dinner was as favourable as the most recent one yesterday for drinks and an early supper.
QashQai opened to well deserved rave reviews from all corners in the fall of 2008 and has maintained it's standards since, which is no mean feat in Delhi.
As you walk up the soothing pearly beige stairs, the strong calming aura of the royal purple decor invites you in from the madness of Shankar Market and Outer Circle traffic. The circular open bar is the first thing you see as you step into the lounge section of QashQai. There are also at least 5 staff members buzzing around this foyer area at any given time to carry you comfortably through the evening. The service is attentive and polite without being obtrusive.
The Basil Iced Tea @ Rs.89 is well worth stopping by in the day time to catch your breath. The same can be said for the Ginger and Basil Mojito @ Rs.429, especially during happy hours which currently run....wait for it...until 8pm....all 7 days including Saturday and Sunday.
The lounge seating is comfortable and spaciously organised into semi-open booths for 4-6 patrons with low stylish black tables and plasma screen TVs. The lighting is always at a romantic dim, as is, thankfully, the easy listening music.
The menu ranges from Italian appetisers, pastas, risottos to an adventurous crepe section to mediterranean/mid-east meat dishes to classic fish and chips to an Indian section for the inflexible dilli-wale. Somehow, they pull it off. The Mexican crepe with jalapenos and bellpeppers @Rs.249 was simply yummy. The scicilian sauteed chicken with white rice @ Rs. 350 hit the spot. I can also recommend the non veg mezze platter which is plentiful and ultimately value for money @ Rs.550.
The lounge section starts filling up around 8pm while the pretty white restaurant section by the windows looking onto Shankar Market is less crowded. I highly recommend QashQai from 6-8pm for the happy hours (1+1), good food, good service and the shaanti. No matter what time you walk in, QashQai makes an excellent date night choice for it's mood, decor, music, food, drinks and stellar sense of style.
