As we wanted to try something of the Manipuri cuisine and typically not their Noodles and Momos, we chose a dish which looked a bit different - Eromba.
Eromba is a spicy side dish made with bamboo shoots, mashed potatoes and dried fish to be had with rice. Even a small quantity of Eromba is quite potent and enough to make you cry due to it being spicy. My dad's friends who were from the North East said that Eromba is quite a delicacy back there and is typically made with Raja Chilli whose use is banned normally as it even touching it burns the skin. However it is very tasty and the flavour of the dried fish is a definite crowd puller for those who like it. We could see people even getting the Eromba packed and taking it home.
