Loved the fine dine experience here, thank you !
This kinda place gives you what even a best fine dining cannot. Reminds of my experiences in Ludhiana where you can have some really good starters in the car with your music high on. The chicken was desi and so juicy that I loved it. The prices were descent too and the added flavour of spicy chatni is what makes the starters feel its true taste. Service is fast and food is awesome.
Rajinder Express a train you should not miss
You don't deserve to be in delhi if you haven't visited this place. This is a small non-hip looking kind of place which serves amazing Desi food. For those who love to gobble
upon typical Punjabi food you need to pay this place a visit. It's not all that expensive and the food is complete value for money. Actually a bit more.
Best on cold winter nights
Most Delhites must be thinking I've lost it... but honestly sitting on your car and indulging in hot kebabs at Rajinder Express is besst on cold winter nights. I tried Mughlai parathas with galauti kebabs and kalmi chicken. The parathas very interesting... definitely a better option than palin ol' roomali rotis. The galauti kebabs were delicious... just the right type and amount of spice. But the Kalmi Chicken stole my heart! It's the first time I tried it and I loved it!
have 2-3 friends? looking for a place to have that quick munch of CHICKEN? head straight to this place. i seriously couldn't find anything to complain about the place (ok the wine shops in the market helped the cause) but on a serious note, the chicken is delicious, service is fast and prices are reasonable.if you are not that much touchy feely about ambience, this should do it for you.but dont make your mind about the place before tasting the food
2 people can eat comfortably for around 400
pss(chicken tastes best with a beer) just saying
So one can either order and eat in their cars, or sit at the retaurant on the first floor or head for a fine dine experience. We sat on the first floor, good punjabi food, quick service (even on a saturday evening), quite a value for money. Portions are good, so watch what you order. After a long time, enjoyed eating some good Indian cuisine, thumbs up to that !
Most delicious chicken!
What beats KFC's chicken? Answer- Chicken which you get at Rajinder da Dhabha.
I went there with my friends expecting it to be just another roadside shop which we have in CP or Karol Bagh. But it was much better. Though it is just a dhaba and if you are expecting it to be a comfortable / romantic experience then please stop reading further and dont go there.
But if you are okay with the ambiance, then this is definitely best place for Chicken dishes. If you are here, then Tandoori Chicken and Mutton Kebab are must have dishes. Rest of the vegetarian dishes such as Pakoras etc are also good.
Great chicken tandoori
Its the best chicken tandoori I have come across in Delhi.
Even the pricing is amazing. I never mind standing in queque as their chicken is really yummy. Forget about Bhukhara or Karims,,,,it does not match their taste. Ofcourse if you have excess money nobody is gonna stop you..
Excellent Tandoori Fare
This place offers lovely food. This is what I would call truly fingerlicking. There is anoption of either sitting in a small A/C room that they have and in the open courtyard just outside the restaurant. The experience outside is more like orad side dining. The one inside is nothing great. It is quite simple inside.
The highlight, as it should be in most places is the food. Excellent marination is given to every Kebab they serve. The mutton is also really nice and tender. I personally loved the food. The rice preparations are also quite good. If you are interested in going only for the Kebabs, do make a visit and grab a place open air in the courtyard (standing and eating).
Not for Vegetarians
After hearing a lot of this places, yesterday I finally got a chance to check it out, and boy, was I disappointed.
Lot of people will say that this place is meant for non-veggies, I agree, but so are a lot of other places in town, however they do serve a tremendous vegetarian fare as well. But not here, there were only 2 or 3 things on the menu for veggies. Dal Makhani, Shahi Paneer, Raita and Mutter Pulao.
Now with such a wide selection, I was spoilt for choice and finally settled for Shahi Paneer, which was nothing to write about. An average dish for Rs.50, the quantity was good though. The Nans were Rs. 5 each, and for that price they are quite good.
I doubt I will go there again, however might go for giving company to some friend, but not out of choice.
The Best Malai Tikka
If Malai Tikka is what you are looking for (or Seekh Kebab, or Butter Chicken or Tangdi Kebab :)), Rajinder da Dhaba is the probably the best you can find in Delhi. Even the onions and the pudine ki chatni is yum!
Since it is a dhaba, don't expect any special decor or seating (and don't get too fussy over hygiene), though the place has expanded quite a bit since the last few years and has a better seating area than before. The place is always quite packed so you might have to wait a bit to get served
(which is why 4 stars instead of 5), but it is worth the wait.
I would recommend a combination of Malai Tikka along with Rumali's and Butter Chicken for the main course. If you are having a beer party at home - a great choice for takeaway/home delivery.
