Of the few fond memories of my Delhi sojourn, my visits to Wenger's in Connaught Place would rank right at the top. Quite a few birthdays (not just mine) have been celebrated here and we'd all look forward to each special occasion, simply to have one other excuse to visit Wenger's.
Calling Wenger's an institution would be an understatement & in all probability, it would actually be considered nothing less than a "monument". There's a lovely old-world charm to this place and the lovely fresh smells of baked goods engulf your senses. I feel there's nothing as aromatic as freshly baked goods to wake up your inner senses.
Pretty much everything on offer here is par excellence. However, my topmost personal pick would be the Mutton Patty, an amazingly melt-in-your-mouth item that's served fresh & hot, with great meat & seasoning it. I usually ordered 3 of these before even thinking of anything else. And now my mouth is literally watering as I write this review !!
The Shami Kebabs are another delectable item here as also are the sandwiches, which I think are one of the best-kept secrets about Wenger's. The Quiches, Baguettes, Tarts, Pastries etc are all top-notch too.
Wenger's is undoubtedly a VFM place, considering the tradition, quality & range of items on offer. Service is efficient and quick.
Verdict :- No second thoughts about visiting this place. I'd like to go back to Delhi only for Wenger's sake !!
This place has been around for decades, and I remember visiting Wengers since I was a child!! Its good to know that they have maintained their high quality over the years, this is the reason that it still is a popular joint. Their patties are great and flavorsome, with a crunchy exterior and a good amount of filling in the center. Their shammi kebabs are their specialty and are absolutely divine!! They are almost triple the size of regular shammi kebabs. Their cookies are great too. Specially the one with jelly in the middle. The cheese straws are also good, but can be a little more spicy, otherwise they seem more bland. Their cakes are quite standard, so I would recommend going to a more upmarket restaurant if you're looking for one for a special occasion! But all in all, a good place to visit if you're looking for a quick bite.
loved it !
Let me start with only small issue I had. There is not enough seating space inside the place. It just takes some time to get some space. That is all I can point out as a negative.
Last month I went there and we ordered Veg White Sauce Pasta, Veg Lasagna, Fish and Chips, a Chicken Sandwich, Tiramisu, Dark Chocolate cake and Blueberry Waffle. All this for just about Rs. around 1000/-. Great value for money
The very good food was followed by great desserts. There were many tempting desserts on display: mostly mousse', a chocolate cake and waffles. The dark chocolate cake was served warm, topped with chocolate sauce and served with ice-cream.
Those who are looking for value for money will appreciate this one.
Wengers is one place in Connaught Place which people swear by... You enter the place and sweet aromas of the cookies and pastries surround you...
It is the best bakery in Delhi for wedding and Christmas cakes...The festivity can be seen on two events-Easter and Christmas. Chocolate rounds, chocolate mousse and the hazel nut pastry are just out of the world. The rates are very reasonable in terms of cakes. Not to forget the chocolates which are slightly costly but worth a try. They have super amazing sandwiches.
CP and Wengers actually walk together.
Wenger's has been around for quite sometime now and has been the favorite of various people around the shop and in fact, residing in Delhi. Me being one of such, I've been visiting Wenger's for quite sometime now and it has consistently maintained quality. Pattize remains as my favorite from the menu, it's a must try and surely recommended. Do try wenger's.. :)
no doubt..the best
Wenger's Deli,is the new restaurant of Wenger's,located right beside Keventer's in CP.
Deli does not disappoint with the reputation that Wenger's has,and has created a niche for itself in the last few months only!!
They serve some amazing Fish n chips, which is a unique in CP itself,Chicken Piri-Piri sandwich is it's spiciest and yummiest best, delicious pastas and amazingly different desserts called Verrines in different flavours.
Definitely worth a visit if you wanna grab a quick bite, and definitely not an expensive one!!
Nostalgia = Wengers
Wengers reminds me of my days in school. Delhi has come a long way in Bakery options. If you want to check out European and American treats like Oatmeal cookies without making the trek to CP - check out Le Petite Pantry http://www.lepetitepantry.com for great bread, cookies and more
Well, I don't think Wenger's needs any kind of introduction as it is one of the most famous pastry shops around Delhi and NCR. Situated in the prime locale of Connaught Place in the A-block, it's a hard-to-miss place. With this big, broad doors, the whiff of the freshly baked cakes and breads makes it an absolute delight to visit. A huge assortment of products, one ought to try their Tiramisu, Tarts and my personal favourite, the Rum Pastry. Even the Cream Caramel, in their petite petri-dish sort of tray, is a delight.
A must visit cake shop!
Wengers is a classic and the best bakery shop in Delhi. Visit it and you won't be disappointed with the quality and variety they offer. They provide a range of pastries and snacks and whatever you will pick you will not be disappointed.
I tried their rum ball, shaami kabab , patty and chocolates. Shaami kabab was out of the world, rum ball was quite unique and chocolates are their speciality.
You can try this shop and believe me you will come out smiling .
just can't get enuff...

Good, but nostalgia makes is better
Wenger's is almost an institution in Delhi - it's been around for as far back as I can remember at least. Over my lifetime, I've been there and bought their products scores of times, and probably eaten their products hundreds of times at parties/ get-togethers where food had been sourced from there.
So here's the deal with Wenger's: I think its good, and I still like eating its products, but I think there is more than a fair share of tradition and nostalgia involved in how people feel about it. What I mean is, if you were to strip down the fond memories people have associated with this place, and just objectively evaluate the food, its about above-average, and not much more. There are some things which are positively delectable like the paneer rolls, which are impossibly soft and actually seem to melt in your mouth. But then, it has its share of sub-par products too.
Whats happened simply is this: the quality of bakeries/ confectionaries in Delhi has improved significantly over the last decade or so, but Wengers has pretty much stuck to its old formulae. While that is a somewhat endearing quality because its great to have comfort food, it is also somewhat disappointing, because one knows there are better products out there.
I continue to patronize Wengers, and Id still recommend it to everybody, but if you are not somebody who has grown-up on Wengers, keep your expectations moderate, and you will do just fine.
This place is totally Over hyped..
Being fan of Chocolate, tried all Black Forest, Chocolate truffle, etc., Nothing special about them except the PRICE.
not worth going..
people are just going by seeing other people...
Dont follow other people like SHEEPS....
U can say in Hindi
"Unchi Dukaan , Feeke Pakwaan..." suits this place the Best...
Great Pastries since Ages
This place serves some really good pastry and bakery items in Delhi. It has been there since ages. They serves excellent mutton puffs. Don't miss those. Apart from that the eclairs and other chocolate pastries are also good. In this place you can be guaranteed of the freshness of the ingredients.
This place is always quite crowded and the payment method is the most interesting. It involves a lot of paper work. You first place your order at the pastry counter, he then gives you a receipt. You then make you payment at the billing counter, who again gives you the receipt. And finally you take that receipt and collect it from the delivery counter which is at the gate.
Quite complicated, but the pastries and puffs are just amazing.
