Nothing Great about it
Athidhi has got an average ambiance and not so great food but the USP of this place is that its close to miyapur and chanda nagar which is home to a lot of IT and ITES employees hence its packed on weekends and you have you wait for a long time at times for a table the service is strictly average or below average and the food is the same as well but the pricing is on the higher side for the food and service provided.
It's an average place for the family dining as it is very near for the people who stays at Miyapur, Chandanagar, Hafeezpet. The ambience is nice with Decent interiors and comfortable sitting. But the lights are kept too dim, hence difficult even to read the menu.
Then coming to the food, it is not upto the mark.
Paneer starters are really bad though non veg starters are comparatively better.
Vada with idly sambar that they serve are good
Desserts are not that great as expected.
Price is bit high and the Value for money is not as expected.
Service is also poor owing to large crowd in the restaurant.
Worst in Hyderabad
The staff cannot remember what is ordered and the service is late. It is a restaurant is only a way to loot the public who wish to enjoy their evening with their family. Once you visit this place, you will not dare to eat out for the next few weeks due to the trauma of this so called restaurant. I am happy to be able to get a chance to write this review so that it will help new people save themselves from this worst hotel.
Best in Madinaguda, Miyapur
This is located right opposite Talkie Town Theatre in Miyapur area on NH-9.
restaurent is pretty good in terms of ambience, tables are of big size, and the area is not conjested. Decent parking and decent overall experience.
Our order was as follows:
Veg Kofta Curry
All the breads were of good size and served hot.
Curries - Excellent, Veg Kofta Curry was made of Makhni gravy and paneer was grated in it. It was tasting very nice. Koftas were well prepared with Kaju and khoya in them. I liked the curry more than anything else.
Masala Kulcha was again well prepared and the stuffing was done very nicely.
I have been to all the restaurents in this area, (A Lounge, Banyan Tree etc etc.) All of them are deteriorating but I liked this place more and all 3, Banyan Tree, A lounge are hopeless and the prices are 20% higher when compared to this place.
My comment for Banyan Tree, serves hopeless food with zero lighting in the restaurent. A lounge is like sitting in a cafeteria and eating its so crowded. Athidhi looked decent to me. in all 3.
Curries veg - 120-140 Rs
Non Veg Curries - 150-170 Rs
Roti - 22 Rs
M Kulcha - 35 Rs
Biryani - 145(CB)-175(Special MB)
Starters (these were expensive) - Veg - 120-150
Starters (non veg) 140-160
Taxes - 14.5% (No Service Charge)
True to its reputation : WORST Restaurant
Visit: Sometime back
Staff: Unwelcome, non-responsive, Dosent care about you..
Price: Found it over priced to what was served.
Quantity: Small portions
Word of caution: Visit at your own risk. We never intend to come back ever.
Not a good place for food
Today morning I went to this place, despite some very bad reviews before and was taught a good leason for that. The good things about it are ambience and quantity of food. And the bad things are taste of food, it was rather amateurish. I really couldnt see much professionalism in the food served. We ordered cream of tomato soup. It tasted quite artificial and excessively sweet. Next thing was gobi 65. That too was not good. We then went for hakka noodles, that too was not at all good. Not even upto the mark of a road side chinese fast food center. Then came the below ones which were relatively better.
Butter chicken - average, biryani rice - OK.
Overall experice was bad to be frank, we could not complete even 1/3rd the food. I thought, given the location and ambience, in the hands of some good professional crew this place could really become a great destination for food lovers and families. But alas that was not to be.
Vegeterians be careful
Today we visited this restaurant after a long time. We ordered Veg. Tom Yum Noodle soup. When the soup was served we realized that it has a smell of chicken stock. When we told the manager he refused to accept. We ended up in not having the soup. Later we ordered Sejwan Paneer which was of average taste and curd rice was even below average. Security gaurds in parking keep looks at you as if you owe him some money. We ended up paying for the soup. The guy even didn't bothers to ask us why didn't we have the soup.
the worst restaurants
I visit many hotels and restaurants as a hobby. I check step by step and will create an opinion. More than 75 new restaurants I had tried in Hyd and very few less than 15 I kept as best and recommended people to visit them. Athidhi rest which is located in Miyapur is one of my worst exp I had from the parking to the billing.
First of all, no proper parking. They asked me to keep my car in the road side, less than 10 cars can be parked there and remaining has to be on the road...big traffic disturbance and the valet car driver refused to take the key and refused to re park the vehicle to a safest place..When i complained the manager, he simply left the place and went inside the kitchen.
When I went inside...we were couple who prefer to sit side by side on a sofa..but they asked us to sit opposite single table.
when we said that we want to sit to gather not opposite side they said only 4 setter has that facility and they cannot give 4 seated, as we are only 2..,.so in this hotel couple's are forced to sit opposite side,...
Its pretty crowded hotel and the only concept is serve fast, make the customers eat as fast as they can, take the money and send them fast...this should be a fast food centre..This is not a restaurant...u cannot have a peace full lunch or dinner..
the food is ok, not so good..but the prices are at higher end..may be the owner of the restaurant is paying high rent ..so he compromised in quality of the staff and food.
Further the ambiance is not at all good..i observed that for every 7 tables there is a person in charge who will not help the customer in the 8th table..Even will not bring water if u r not seated in his table...
Finally this is a bad fast food rest ...
Dinner at Athidhi cost me Rs.7000 in Hospital
I am not a frequent visitor to this restaurant but we rarely have food there. Similarly we went there for a dinner and had soups for starters and after few spoons when I looked down I found a MOSQUITO in my soup bowl. We called the waiter and said about this, he just took it and replaced with another soup(No apology, but I don't usually care) . We ordered some rotis to go with Chicken tikka masala and a Chicken briyani. Everything went well , but problem started as soon as I woke up the next day morning .
I had diarrhea but still went to office without knowing the effect. Within an hour I got severe stomach ache(never ever experienced such a horrible painful ache) I began to sweat and vomitted. I thought I could walk from restroom to my place, but when I reached my place I collapsed down as though I totally lost my stamina. I couldn't even stand by myself.
They rushed me to hospital and these hospital they took so many tests and made me admit in hospital for day of total cost of Rs.7000/- ... Finally doctor concluded that it might be some food that I took?
Good ambience, good food
The best thing @ Athidi is the fact that it's the *only* decent restaurant in Miyapur, atleast until now.
For those of us who've moved here and would like an evening out with friends and family without braving Kukatpally traffic or eating pizza again - that's a big deal.
So, props for location.
The ambience is pleasing and friendly - low lighting, koi fishes, a rock fountain area.
Noise level was low but no-one objected when my kids upped the volume a bit.
The service is nice - courteous, quick and friendly.
The serving sizes are big - seriously, 1 entree would be enough for a couple.
Prices are fine - veg curries are in the 100+ range, raitas are 30-ish, naans/parathas are also 30-ish.
For a family of 4, we paid 400/- for a very filling dinner.
I tried Paneer chatpata the last time I was there - was warned by the staff that it's very spicy and it lived up to its name.
Naans and parathas were perfect - I'll possibly go for the naan tokri next time.
Pineapple raita was bland-ish but kids loved it.
I'll definitely be back here again - will update my review when I try other dishes.
Kabhi Kabhi Athidhi? Nah!! Kabhi Nahi Athidhi
Usually, I dont like embarking on lengthy tirades. Im the non-violent kind you see. Having said that, there really isnt too many nice or even average things you can say about a place like Athidhi. It has a reasonably good ambience and the service is courteous. But, that aside, the most important aspect of any restaurant the food is simply woeful. It is perhaps a perfect example of an amateur south Indian chef trying his hand at north Indian and Chinese cuisine. Simply put, the food tasted exactly the way it shouldnt. Lets start off with the appetizers. To begin with, the appetisers were anything but that. The starters were ordinary but to say that the soup was ordinary would be the understatement of the century. The Hot and Sour soup was nothing short of atrocious. Then came the main course. Well, they say the morning shows the day and that was the case with Athidhis food. The main course didnt do too much to redeem the places battered reputation. The shahi paneer, aloo methi and dal makhani were all way below average. One nice thing about the restaurant is that they have a small little enclosure within the restaurant which can seat about 10 people. So, if u r planning to go as a group u dont have to be wary of keeping the decibel levels low since u will be seated in a place which is well isolated. But, the question is why would you want to go to such a restaurant in the first place? They dont serve alcohol and the food as Ive already mentioned is bad. Perhaps, the only factor in its favour is its location. It is situated right next to Talkie Town Multiplex in Miyapur. You might wanna go here for a quick meal after the movie. But I certainly wouldnt recommend it.
