Eat and have a fun time
Ohris Eatmor 70mm, Necklace Road
Have you ever had lunch in a movie hall or in a film studio? I guess not, but wait, you can almost do that in Ohris Eatmor 70mm, Necklace Road, Hyderabad. As the name goes, this place has all the elements a hardcore Hindi movie lover and a foodie will die for. Its a perfect filmy ambience straight out of Bollywood movie sets. The decor is mostly done with cut-outs, poster, movie dialogues, mannequins etc. and you can enjoy these highlights of Indian cinema while you wait for your turn (thats engaging enough if you have to wait for some time to find a table), because on weekends the place is a bit crowded but, its worth the wait.
Though its a heaven for the non-vegetarians, it also has a good spread for the vegetarians. The lavish spread is mouthwatering right from the entrees to desert and leaves you will be spoiled for choice. The buffet menu offers you salad, soup, chats, momos, pastas, Chinese, variety of breads, starters, curries, biryani, rice items etc. and you will be surprised to find haleem on the menu.
Non-vegetarians must try the Spicy Grilled Fish, Chilly Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Mutton Curry, Goan Fish Curry, and Chicken Chettinad.
Vegetarians would just love the kebabs, stir fried vegetables, zafrani pulao, veg do payaza, palak lassoni, dal makhni, mutter capsicum, and veg in barbeque sauce in particular.
Apart from these, you have soup (veg and non-veg), tempting papdi chat, dahi bhalla, lassi, aam panna, noodles, fried rice, and pastas.
The best part of the entire spread is the dessert section, which for those with a sweet tooth is like Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory. It has cakes, mousse, pudding, freshly cut fruit, ice-cream with sauces. You can also enjoy desi sweets like moong dal halwa, gajar ka halwa, narilay barfi, rajbhog etc.
For a place with awesome food, service is found to be lacking. Wish their staff could be a bit more professional.
Apart from the service, this is certainly a place where you would love to hang out with your friends, have delicious food and have a great time.
Food needs improvement
First things first, we liked the ambiance and how the restaurant is setup.... very filmy and colorful! Straight out of a Bollywood set! The food buffet is fine, but needs improvement. There were not many options for veggie stuff. Some buffet items had to be replenished after several requests. Hope they improve that.
Nice Lunch Buffet, rude staff
Ohri's Jalvihar is definitely a place to go in the evening but we opted to go for the Lunch. The ambiance is FULLY Filmi.. With almost all Bollywood stars posters around you. Especially Om Shanti Om!! Ambiance is something that caught my attention royally at this place. The section is divided into two, still wondering why that is so. If you are looking for a lazy lunch then this is the place. It is surely multicuisine with dominance of Hyderabadi cuisine.. I liked it because it's not a lavish spread.. where it makes difficult for you what to pick. Chicken Hyderabad and hyderabadi biryani is worth trying.. Spicier and mightier as it should be.. Panneer Lababdar is also one choice, but a bit too sweet for our taste buds. Among the desserts, i must say Gajar Ka Halua made me ignore other desserts....The staff i mist say was rude and not welcoming.. To got our breads in quite a long time and too it was cold...we asked to them he gave us a weird smile and went off..This is something that needs attention. whereas the buffet is very reasonably priced...
Good balance between variety and value-for-money
Amazing decor with film memorabilia, posters and quotes decorating even the loos!
Had gone there early on a Sunday evening around 7PM or so and still had to wait in a waitlist or queue. But thanks to the design of the place, all the Ohris' restaurants in that building share the same reception and the same seating area which had comfy plush sofas to wait in.
Most of the decor was Bollywood posters and memorabilia although there were some Hollywood influences also visible... - The film oriented decor was also a bit irritating and distracting later, when trying to eat, as half the people in the restaurant ran around taking photos with all the memorabilia strewn around the restaurant while the other half tried to "eat and reach the buffet table" in peace. - A very chaotic circus environment prevailed inside the restaurant, but in some sense since people were all happy and enjoying it it was more of a carnival'ish feel. Nevertheless, one could definitely not focus on critically analyzing the food with all that distraction so I did not attempt to either.
The food options were: 2 fruity drinks, a chaat counter, a very crude basic pasta counter, 2-3 indian dishes, 1-2 chinese dishes and one continental dish each in the veg and non veg sections respectively. The soup was forgettable but there were momos and fried starters which were replenished as and when stock got over with some other starter preparation in their place which were pretty nice.
Food was pretty good but was emptying out very frequently and the waiting staff was not very visible or were overstretched or too few in number so the empty food containers were being replenished very slowly with one having to often return without some dish.
The chaat really topped the food items from the main course for me.
The dessert section also was really nice. There were: 2 type of cakes, 2 varieties of mousse or pudding, 4 types of fresh fruit, 2 types of ice cream with a variety of ingredients to garnish them and 3 or types of syrups or sauces too. There were also some 3-4 types of indian sweets like moong dal halwa, chom chom and some other fried sweets.
All in all it was a bit crowded but was still a thoroughly enjoyable experience and at 450/- per head inclusive of taxes a major value-for-money treat for my wallet too!
Food - 7/10
Ambience - 6/10
Service - 5/10
Cost: 450/- per head inclusive of all taxes.
Up's & Down in Foods
I have been to this place for soo many times i liked the ambiance very much totaly Hollywood & Bollywood Pictures and creatives but coming to the taste of foods was good before.... but now starters it was not that good what we expect (especially in non-veg),You have limited options in Veg Buffet . But I really liked the deserts menu. Hope next time will be more enjoyable
Good ambiance- the food just doesn't match
The Ohri - Baseraa group is famous for their theme based resturants and eateries.
70 mm is one such place where the theme is as the name suggests - movies, and Bollywood at that, and the 70's to be very specific. There are manequins of various characters from that era - Amithabh , Helen, Mahmood etc.
The restaurant is situated on Necklace road in the Jalavihar compound. We went for lunch and we opted for the buffet.
The ambiance somehow overshadows the food which was just about ok - nothing special stands out.
The usual mix of multi cuisine items - from the Indian tandoori items to Chinese noodles and the continental pastas etc. All standard run of the mill items. The desserts were plentiful and those with a sweet tooth will enjoy this segment of the spread.
The price is also very reasonable around 1000 for three people on a weekday.
The highlights - The ambiance and the dessert spread.
With the title 70MM, its great & worth price
With the title 70MM, with the word itself is super place and its worth of the price.
Yesterday, I was there with my group of 7 people to celebrate my wife's birthday in 70MM and it was my 1st visit to it and its a good nostalgic desi ambience with yesteryear's movie poster's, spacious seating, huge spread of varieties and good service. I say this because I was longing to have Haleem and I didnt expect in the buffet but to my surprise there was a tasty Haleem with additional bonus of Paya Shorba
As I reserved, they arranged the seating in the center of the restuarant for better experience and better feasibility. It's a worth of a price of Rs.350 all together...Be there !
A must-try place!
I went there a week back and fell in love with the place. The food is awesome and so is the ambiance. The service is also really good. And the best part is that the place is not at all expensive. They provide 4star experience at the expenditure of a 3star hotel. I would highly recommend this place!
To put it in brief, Its a must try place and it will surely become a memorable one too. The ambiance is too good and so as the food, esp Starter and desserts .Waiter's are so active and bt never disturb us. Its our adda indeed.. And very budged one.. I guess around 350 per head..
The Ambience of 70 mm is on bollywood theme...quite impressive...the buffet costs around 350 which has non veg and veg ...good spread of salads, desserts...non veg section is also decents...was little disapointed to see only one dish for starters (plus paneer pizza which was ok)....when compared to Ohri's other restaurant Jiva Imperia options are very less for vegetarians...main course is almost half of Jiva Imperia that too on higher price...Good to go if you are Non Vegetarian..If Vegetarian would like to suggest Jiva Imperia at Begumpet
Evergreen - as the theme goes
I have lost count of the number of times I have been here. Right from the time when the buffet was at an introductory 130 per head a few years ago, to now. And believe me, the rise in rates has not been a deterrent at all while visiting this place.
Great ambience and good food, this place has managed to get most things right. And what's more, this is one place that you can take visitors to Hyderabad - more so if they are from down south, for this place sure is unique!
perfect bollywood tadka to north indian cuisine
I went to have dinner buffet at this place on a saturday. it costed me Rs. 388 per person (including taxes), and wowed me enough to vow that i am going there again, and after having fasted for 1.5 days.
first, the ambience - which is what really pulls you inside. there are manenquins recreating scenes of various famous bollywood & chinese martial arts movies. and then there are these soft pink crystal string curtains, that lend a romantic touch to the whole place.
now, the food. i am vegetarian, so did not try the non-veg dishes. thankfully, the veg spread had enough options. the noodles & manchurian were blasting with flavours, the paneer dish was simply lip-smacking. the dahi bhalla & salads were very good too.
i have a sweet tooth. so all the above would have gone to drain, had the desserts not been good. thankfully they were :) gulab jamun & rasgulla were made perfectly. there was a huge spread of chcolate, strawberry & other mousse. i tried chocolate, and loved it. sadly, after having all this, i couldn't afford to stuff myself more.
overall, my experience to this place was quite memorable.
lunch buffet at ohri's
price 336 rs per person on week days...
the food taste is alright not that great...there are no free cool drinks...and the drink they serve free basically tastes like glucon D orange flavour with little fizz
coming to the food, there is plenty of variety for vegetarian and non- vegetarian....soups, salads, buns, momos, chat, curries, rice, ice cream, sweet ,cake slices, hot chocolate or custard topping......the biryani is fine but when we went the meat was not cooked properly.
the ambience is very good....and the service is nice
for people who eat less the buffet is a bad option , because you pay more and eat less...at weekends the price for buffet is increase....
i like the chicken curry which they served.... for two people the buffet comes upto 673 rs including taxes. well thats all i can write and hope this helps.
This is one of the best places I have ever been to, except that I have to wait on a saturday for 45 Min (I was told one hour). Amazing hospitality with great food. Ambience has been great and this is for folks who like bollywood music and are okay to hear it little loud. If more than six people it is recommended that you book before you head to this place. Great place for quality food. Rs 388 inc VAT on Saturday and Sunday is some Rs 450.. Have more :-)
70MM certainly is big screen magic replicated with utmost finesse. A fine blend of delicious food and bindaas bollywood ambience, its like best of both worlds. But what touched us most was the warmth that the staff showed towards us. We loved the experience of eating with some of the biggest bollywood celebs (though they were virtual). Our next Ohris destination would be Nautanki Gali.
As a family, we love exploring restaurants in the city. We are all foodies. And the other day, we happened to visit Ohris 70MM the restaurant at Jalavihar. It was a great outing for all of us. We had a blast with some sumptuous food. The staff was equally cordial, making the outing a special one for us. The next best thing would be, if they can have a food festival there. We are all eagerly awaiting an amazing food festival. Cheers!!
Good food becomes great if the ambience can complement it. Thats the case with 70MM. We have been there a number of times and still find the place interesting. The complete bollywood theme is one-of-its-kind in the city. For us 70MM is the place to be even when theres no occasion. Love the place.
The Buffet is simply superb
As a person, I love exploring various cuisines. And buffets at various restaurants top the list. At Ohri's 70MM, the buffet is just amazing. The spread is simply awesome. Theres a great variety of appetizers, main course, desserts, etc. The filmy ambience makes the experience even more interesting. All in all its an amazing place.
Often when we go to a restaurant without any plans, we end up ordering something which might not be good in that place. But we visited this place for the first time, tried different dishes offered in the buffet and all were amazing...I can assure you that you will never be dissappointed with this restaurant. Firstly the food presentation is simply the finest. The buffet spread is just unbeleivable for the price its offered. The ambience & service just adds onto the experience.
EATMOR - 70mm
First of all - Please rename the restaurant listing. Its "EATMOR 70mm".
Ohri's group carries forward their legacy in the chain of theme restaurants in India with Eatmor 70mm. The concept of the ambience takes over food in every theme restaurant but it was never in the case of Ohris - it has a right mix of delicious food & perfect atmosphere to enjoy. Adding to it are the responsible staff who helped us with quick service & table allotment.
Eatmor 70mm is my pick for a flawless dining experience with posters of famous actors/actresses, statues of the dancers, hit movies being played on the LCD's creates a total Bollywood environment. The food is something you definitely cant miss - Be it the buffet spread, Chaat , Ice creams, desserts, etc.
Go and enjoy a complete Bollywood flavour!
Not to go this place forever
I believe, by seeing the ambiance everyone will walk to this place, bcz we also did the same mistake. we went this place for dinner buff, its not at all worth and atleast can't judge in taste that one dish is upto average. Worst and worst buff till now in my life i haven't seen. Buff cost is 480/ head for which we had unbearable food in my life.
Avoid this place at any cost
The best suggestion I can give after going to this place for lunch and dinner buffet is "Run dude Run!" not to this place, but away! for a far away place!
Quite simply this place has one of the worst buffet in hyderabad, from every point- value for money, spread of dishes, taste
While we were having dinner, there was a birthday bash going on at the next table quite loudly, LOL!
Vegetarians will be bored to tears looking at the spread, and the non-vegians will laugh to death at themselves for coming to this place.
I think it is a waste of time and space to write anymore about this place.
absolutely rude staff
15 of us went here on 5th june, saturday at 7 p.m when the whole place was empty. nice ambience with bling and glitter and a bollywood theme. however their lack of interest to serve customers who possibly came at an off time for them is appalling. If you dont serve food or water till 7.30 pm then why have the restaurant open at all before schedule?
it took us 20 minutes and 3 reminders to get water to the table. they informed us that they have only a buffet starting at 7.30 p.m and the a la carte menu was only icecreams and coffee. with no one but us in the restaurant, they increased the volume of the already playing music to the max and when we requested for it to be turned down, we were told very rudely that they cant turn it down because "other customers want to enjoy".. there were no other tables occupied at the time we were there. the waiters just stand around and even when you signal to them to approach you, look at each other to decide who will take your order/ request. We walked out because of this behaviour and i am surely never going back here. This isnt the first time we've had rude service at an ohri's owned restaurant. they really dont care for their customers because they are a big name and monopolize the food business in hyderabad.
it really sucks!! (sply d veg section)
i went there wit 7 of my frns..my blood pressure started raising from the point we entered..except the watchman no one was there to guide us..we had to search for comfortable space..then came the horrifying lunch time ..horrible starters..there was only one variety of pizza that too was in depleting stages, nxt the rotis were so "chilld" out as if we were eating them in the mountains of siberia..,the only Saviour was paneer butter masala..nxt were chilled out biryani n noodles..on top of all this the air condition stops as and when the current is gone!!...thats jst unacceptable, they dont evn have any generators!!...except some managers no one else is used to english..frankly its the worst buffeting experience i have ever had..so plz plz guys dont do the same mistake!!
Good Value. Great Ambience
Buffet pricing is awesome for parties. Dinner buffets are more than double the rates in other places in the city. Desserts have been excellent every time. they serve sea food as well for the dinner, crabs and shrimps. For those who want ala carte there's the choice of Tansen and 1857 in the same building which are restaurants with a different theme. Havmor 70mm is great value for money and amazing ambience. I always felt content leaving the place. :-)
Ohri's 70 MM sucks,
it was really a very bad experience have dinner @ ohri's 70 MM @ Necklace Road starting from the lady taking or name's for booking to valet parking, 1st the lady @ reception doesnt have basics how to behave with customer she was rude, service was worst no good, and the best thing is food very very bad, it was served very cold, not much in menu, very bad response from boys or Capitan at the end in spite of valet parking i had to drive back my car, never visit that place if you want to enjoy u r lunch or dinner, on your own risk,
Not a foodie affair
On a lazy winter afternoon, having a Bollywood punch wasn't a bad idea. So after watching Avatar we went for the this Bollywood themed restaurant for a team lunch.
I guess Bollywood was famous for its glitterati and this was the reason for this joint being to famous. It had its own grandeur of Bollywood all around.
It took us a while to get seated and the staff was in a dismay to provide a table for 6. We received a seat on the corner outside the center well. Without waiting long we steamed up for the huge spread on buffet for lunch.
Much to our disappointment the food was neither tasty nor something to cherish about. They were mediocre food served in style. All through the service was horrible as it took a while for the staff whether to serve water or not. Only good part in the food was its spread of Salads and Desserts. 4 ice cream flavors and rasamalai was the peak with hot rasgullas served later as the rasamalai replacement.
We had to wait yet another 15 mins to be billed which added to the much unneeded experience. No one would mind to visit this place again but for its ambiance.
great ambience but nothing special about the food
heard so much about this place, we finally decided to go there... for the price the spread is good enough.
ambience is what i really like. ohris is really good at coming up with concepts.
but puts me off is the food. the food is nothing great. veg choice is very limited. they had corn rice or plain rice for vegges but not biryani or pulao (why discrimination).... veggies also need biryani.
their salads were good but confusing. the (N/V) to denote non-veg was written as (NiV)... and kept me wondering what is NiV, one of them said chops and looked delicious and later i get to know its non veg. like the main course, it would be better if they keep veg and non veg salads seperately.
coming to the pizzas... they were cold and soggy. please keep small portions and make sure it gets replaced since the movement is slow.
desserts...... they were great but please give proper bowls/plates and spoons.... we had to use small bowls for pastries and dinner spoons which were bigger than a bowls.
ohris is expected to be well equipped....
what annyoed me was, when we entered the staff told us there was only buffet and no alcarte.... later we get to know from the manager that they have both.... then why lie to the customers????
but i would go back from their ambience and ice creams... and will definitely go back to try out tansen.
A Harrowing Experience
If any of you are planning to explore this new restaurant , then start looking for other avenues coz you will be in for a disappointment. This place neither has the charm nor the delectable food of other Ohri's restaurants. The architecture and ambience may enamor you but this fascination is ephemeral. The service is pathetic. To start with, the waiter brought us water only after we persistently asked him to do so. After we placed our order(just 3 items), it took about 35 minutes for the waiter to get them. And guess what ??? The wait yielded no reward as the food was so insipid and bland that it dint stimulate any of my taste buds. The food is definitely not commensurate to the exorbitant rates. So Folks this place is a sure no-no unless you want to dig a hole in your pocket for nothing in return.
Ohri's @ Necklace Rd, is a Brand Name Spoiler !
Yesterday afternoon i happened to see the Hoardings of Ohri's Havmor some where near Banjara Hills and i drove all the way to Necklace rd..They were serving Lunch Buffet at 199 plus taxes. Im regular with Ohri's Banjara Hills and was expecting a good meal..unfortunately..i was welcomed with pale faces and horrible food..soup was okie..but rest all..was like aaaaaaaaaaahhh is this Ohri's??? There were only two starters and were horribly cold..
(it was only 2.p.m) i tried all the items on menu but was shocked not to find even a single proper dish. Even the curd was stale and i coudnt swallow a spoon of it.. And the special affect is they switched off the A.C at 2.45 !!!!!!!!!!!! n i was sweating like anything...so after going through this paid torture..i asked the captain to gimme a feed back form which he never gave!! so ultimately onlything good at Ohri's Havmor, Necklace Road is ...the Look and the Rest Rooms.. sooo Beware Guys..
