Good Place for Continental Food
This place was on my wifes wish list for some time. We had to visit City Centre Mall for some work, and we decided to drop in here after that.
As we entered we found the place nearly empty on a Friday evening, which I found fairly surprising. A special pizza festival was going on at this place but we were not in the mood for pizzas. Also I had some items shortlisted from my previous visit here. A few friends had specially suggested Rosemary Chicken on their menu.
As we sat down, we saw that a few of my close foodie friends were seated in another table. Shamelessly hopped across and had a bite of whatever they were having. The Chicken chipotle tasted nice, though the chicken quality was a bit fibrous. A bite of cheese pepperoni pizza was pretty decent though.
Coming back, we started ordering. The Raw Mango and Mint Lemonade (Rs 160) is an all time favorite of mine. It tasted as great as ever. The Chicken Bruschetta (Rs 180) again a favorite from my last visit was again a winner with the melted mozzarella and cheese topping. My wife was particularly impressed by this.
Coming to main course, we found that the menu has changed and Rosemary Chicken was no longer there. Next wanted to try Cajun Fish but again it was gone from the menu. Spoke to the Chef who suggested Pescado Veracruzano (Rs 440) a Mexican fish preparation. My wife, who had a heavy lunch earlier, ordered a light Piri Piri Chicken Burger (Rs 290).
The Piri Piri Burger was served with French fries, salad and a tasty dip. The bread was soft and the fillings were spicy. Would suggest this to anyone who visits the place.
The Pescado Veracruzano was essentially two fillets of fish (whereas the chef said it was murrel, the waiter told me it was basa it tasted murrel to me) in a Mexican marinade, served with mashed potato, sautéed vegetables and a dip. Everything was good except for the fact that the fish had not drawn in the juice. On enquiry the chef said that the fish was marinated for at least 3 hours. Maybe, the particular fillet acted stubborn and refused to draw in the marinade.
We did not order any dessert as we were quite full at the end of the meal. The bill for the four items came to Rs 1480, inclusive of a 10% service charge.
A decent meal, though not extraordinary.
Never Get Bored !
Never get bored with this one place, it has some magic which always takes me here again and again. I visited on a Sunday evening and the place was buzzing with lots of foodies, good to see such huge crowd. I along with couple of friends sat comfortably in the huge sofas which are my most favourite seating option here. As always the ever smiling Raj Kiran came to us and took the order and started with Virgin Moijito, the simpler of the drinks one can mess with.
First to arrive was Fish n Chips Served with fried potato wedges, amazingly well cooked and very soft, fish lovers must try this dish. Then came the Lamb pepperoni pizza with black olives. I must say the lamb pepperoni slices had nice thickness; it was simply mouth-watering and very flavorful with the black olives in abundance on the pizza. Pan sear Rosemary chicken served with potato baked in onions, I was very impressed with the rosemary flavour which complemented well with the potatoes and onions.
Finally, we moved the most irresistible and most lip-smacking section DESSERTS. Choco Volcano Hot fudge sauce filled in a rice American style muffin topped with vanilla ice creams, most delicious and appetizing dessert. My friend ordered Rich Moist Dark Chocolate Cake Six stories of high cake slice, rich chocolate with soft sponge, boy I must say it was sinfully yummiest, even better than the earlier one. It is a huge portion of pure ecstasy filled with chocolate. We were totally full after having this dessert and could hardly get out of the restaurant.
Overall I am satisfied with the food and service. Every time I visit, I return back totally content with the food, not just me even my friends were very happy and totally satisfied.

English Breakfast !
I had been to their weekend breakfast recently which started couple of months back. They do not have breakfast buffet, it is only Ala carte menu. I was joined by another foodie, so we thought to have a heavy breakfast and we started with the following;
1. Egg Benedict It is served with soft bread, chicken sausages, topped with chicken Pepperoni slices, poached eggs, Hash Brown and Hollandaise sauce. I like the taste of the poached egg which is so perfectly done I could not stop eating. Hash brown was really great I guess this must be one among the best available in the city.
2. Pesto scramble scrambled egg in pesto sauce, Hash Brown and chicken sausages topped with roasted pine nuts. This was also good but not as good as the earlier one.
3. Croissant & Danish croissant was perfectly soft and nicely done. Danish was a stuffed one still it was better than the croissant for me, thought my fellow foodie preferred other one.
4. Shrimp & potato frittata this was nice with shrimps, bell peppers, mushrooms on egg Omlet. It was simply too good. I would have preferred the shrimps to be little soft.
5. Plain Pancake & Chocochips Pancake both were served with Maple syrup, blueberries sauce and Sweet Cheese. The combination of all these are simply amazing and out of the world. Only issue was I found the size of the pancake little small, I would have preferred it in the size of crape.
6. Banana nutella Crepe it is a nutella and banana filled crape served with icing sugar and maple syrup & Blueberries jam; it was just so lip-smacking I did not speak all the while when I was having it.
7. Berri Juice this was also good.
It was absolutely amazing morning breakfast with good service. I would not say this is the best but better them few of the available English breakfast in the town.

Great bistro food....
Recently many foodies have been recommending Ruci & Idoni to me. Also their recent weekend breakfast option has drawn a lot of attention. As I am not much of a breakfast person, I preferred a quiet lunch at the restaurant.
Ruci & Idoni is in the busy area of Banjara Hills, in the road next to City Centre. I found that the restaurant was fairly crowded. There were different age groups dining there, including some senior government officials. I had interacted with their Manager Mr Praveen before, and he along with the staff welcomed me warmly. Through the glass partition the kitchen was completely visible. I preferred a seat closer to the kitchen rather than the outside, so that I could watch the goings on there.
I started with Mango lemonade, one of their well known slushes. In Ruci & Idoni, the lemonades are served in jars instead of glasses, and the quantity is quite large. One of my favorites is the Raw mango and mint combo which is awesome.
The starters and short eats list in the menu is rather large. Chicken Bruschetta is a particular favorite I loved the chicken and mozzarella topping. The Three cheese baked mushroom is a combination of three cheeses on a bed of mushroom served with a tomato dip. Mild flavored and extraordinarily tasty, this is a must have vegetarian dish. The Tostada is essentially a fried tortilla with a topping of shrimps, tomatoes, corn in barbeque sauce and melted cheese. It is spicy and should be well appreciated by the spice loving Hyderabadis. The lemon garlic prawn is a set of prawn skewers which are marinated in an olive and garlic based sauce and served on a bed of cabbage leaves. The prawns were succulent, but I felt that the sauce should have been a bit more in the dish.
Ruci & Idoni is known for their thin crust pizza. I tried a few slices of their special product chicken pizza on a multigrain base. The multigrain pizza is a healthy option and the pizza crust is thicker than the normal thin crust. The toppings had chicken, cheese and sausages and were really awesome. Mr Praveen informed me that the pizza bases in Ruci & Idoni are prepared fresh in the live kitchen.
A Bengali like me will never miss out on the fish tried the Cilantro fish there. A thick fillet of basa fish with a coriander herb and garlic based marinade and a dip, this was accompanied by baby corn and vegetables as well as risotto. The herb and coriander flavor blended well with the fish. I had heard good reviews of Cajun Fish from my fellow foodies, but this was great too. The dip was slightly bland for my liking though.
The other main course was Chicken Piri Piri. Piri Piri is a sauce which in African means a very hot dish with chilli peppers. True to its name, this was a very very spicy dish, but extremely tasty. I was told by Mr Praveen that this is possibly the most popular dish in the restaurant. It was a large piece of grilled chicken in piri piri sauce. This was accompanied by vegetables and potato mash. The chicken was soft and non-fibrous and I loved the taste of the sauce. However an advice to people who cannot take spicy food avoid this.
Ended the lunch with ebony and ivory a well presented combination of chocolate and vanilla scoops.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The staff took good care, and Mr Praveen was at hand to explain each and every query that I had. The menu is huge and there are so many other things left to try. I look forward to visit them for their weekend breakfast shortly.
Lazy Saturday Lunch !
Ruci & Idoni how many of you folk really know the meaning of Ruci & Idoni, Ruci in Sanskrit means taste and Idoni means here. So place where you get tasty food. I did not know it has such a beautiful meaning to it. I had visited on a lazy Saturday afternoon for lunch and I was surprised to see couple of my friends already present there, so from lazy lunch it turned into amazing lunch. We asked Mr.Praveen to serve whatever he feels good which I did not have earlier and we were engrossed in our discussions.
First to arrive was humungous jar of Mango Lemonade, ice tea and Leeches mocktail. Mango and ice tea were simply heavenly the other one was little too sweet. Then came starters Buttermilk Fried Chicken which is my most favorite dish here, chicken was juicy inside and very crispy outside served with bell pepper sauce. Veg Bruchette - this is a simple dish made of finely chopped tomatoes and Basil, served over bread and with olive oil. It was very fresh and tasty.
Then arrived Fish and chicken dishes, I forgot the name of them but both were really very exciting, tasty and full of flavours. Along came chicken thin crust pizza, wow it was very yummy. We were so stuffed that we could not move from the seats. I have finally ordered the Ohris most renowned dessert Classic Awful awful, Brownie awful awful and Nutella awful awful. Awful and Awful two negatives means positive, its so positive that one can just die for. We all loved the food and were stuffed so much we did not leave the place for another one hour. Service was good and served very hot.
Special thanks to Mr. Praveen and Mr Rajashaker for all the wonderful food and hospitality. Look forward to visit very soon.

It was a hot sunny day and unexpectedly the weather turned very pleasant with unanticipated shower in the evening, cooling the entire environment. "FOOD" is what came to my mind, no better way to enjoy on such a wonderful evening. After my meeting I headed straight to Ruci & Idoni and started my dinner. I need not talk about the ambiance as most of the folks might have known about it. I was promptly seated at the glass wall overlooking the kitchen.
I have thought not to order any dish of my choice, rather I preferred to take the choice of the restaurant staff to serve me whatever they feel like. I checked with Mr Praveen and Ms Sarana to get anything and that would be fine with me.
And here goes my gastronomic journey;
- Mango Mint slush - this a very pleasant chilled mango drink with crushed mint, the soothing taste of Mango complemented well with the pungent and refreshing mint. I really loved it.
- Chicken Teriyaki skewers - Teriyaki Chicken is a Japanese dish, good size of chicken pieces were used and properly marinated which is then grilled. It was amazing with the flavours of soy sauce and honey, which are very evident in the dish. I would recommend this if you have a liking towards Japanese cuisine, else you many not like it.
- Buttermilk Fried Chicken - long cut boneless chicken marinated in butter milk for 45 mins and deep fried. The chicken is juicy inside and crispy outside which is the uniqueness of this dish. The flavor of butter milk is very subtle and its one of my favorite here. It is well complimented with the bell pepper sauce. The presentation was perfect and very enticing.
- Chicken Bruchette - this is a simple dish made of shredded chicken cooked in white sauce, served over bread and drizzled with olive oil. Again I would like to mention the flavor is very mild.
- Cajun Grilled River Sole - I am not sure how many folks had this, I for one who loves spicy food was dumbfounded with this one. After having the two mild and subtle chicken dishes this was a feast to my palate, my tasted buds got the stimulus that was required. It is a single large slice of sole fish marinated in Cajun seasoning and grilled. Cajun seasoning is a blend of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano and thyme. The fish was appropriately and flawlessly cooked. Presented on potatoes wedges, broccoli and lettuce. Presentation was so amazing I thought for a while how to disturb it. I am so engrossed and impressed by the flavors of this dish; I am going to have it every time I visit this place. It is a perfect combination for this rainy weather.
- Rich Fantasy Shake - it is a rich milk shake with Vanilla ice cream, Almonds, Cashew nuts, Walnuts and Caramel. I can say this in actuality a very thick shake.
- Fruit Affogato - this is a creation / invention of Mr.Praveen which now rightly got its place on the menu. It is a freshly brewed coffee in a scoop of chocolate ice cream, topped with fresh cream and fresh fruits like kiwi fruit, strawberry, apple and pomegranate seeds. This is a perfect ending to a scrumptious dinner. Though I am not a big fan of coffee but I am so perplexed with the aroma and flavour of coffee and how well the fruits complemented the coffee, it was out of my reach to express. All coffee lovers this is my sincere recommendation.
- Pink Lemonade Fizz - it is strawberry and lemon concoction.
I have a tendency of meeting the Chef where ever I dine, I had a very long conversation with the Chef Raj, and I appreciated Ms. Sarana and Mr Praveen for suggesting my dinner for the night. The services were spot on and prompt.
I am over the moon; thought I could not see moon due to rain, but was totally content with food. The food portions were really generous and I was totally stuffed. This is my third visit to this place and a complete gastronomic tour. My last visit was a disappointment, so I thought to re-visit this place to get second opinion. I am a big time fan of Ohri's group and for sure they would not disappoint their customers, they are 33 years brand. I do understand some glitches here and there but as a common man I don't expect them with so much expertise and experience to commit any errors in their service and food. We expect very high standards. We want you to be more systematic, organized and well equipped, when you serve to large groups. I hope the management would consider my humble suggestion in a positive manner.

Visited this place as part of the foodies meet of the Facebook community "Hyderabad Foodies". Around 30 people converged on this place on a warm Sunday afternoon.
The place has an open kitchen allowing the food lover to watch different items as they are being prepared. This definitely is a good experience and I enjoyed standing next to the glass panel and watching the goings -on.
Coming to the food, we had a set menu with choices in each section, but most of us opted to share dishes resulting in us checking out all the items in the menu.
For soup I tried out the Chicken Spinach soup, the only non-veg soup in the set menu. The soup had a strong flavor of spinach and I kind of liked it. This was followed by Chicken Bruchetta, which was chicken pieces with melted cheese served on a garlic bread. I found it good, though nothing extraordinary. Along with this was Spinach Ricotta Croquettes, with a sweet and spicy dip. This was yummy, possibly the best dish of the night.
We were given various options for lemonades and I chose the strawberry one. It lacked fizz and I did not like the flavor much.
Next in were the pizzas - margherita and smoked chicken. The thin crusts of the pizzas seemed too thin for me... and for both the topping was mainly cheese with other ingredients like chicken or tomato scauce. I did not like the pepper corns - but that is a personal preference.
The two main dishes I tried were good - Fettucini with grilled chicken which is pasta and chicken in tomato and cheese and Chicken Fricasee, served with vegetables (mushrooms, broccoli etc) in a well tasting whitish sauce.
I am not much of a dessert fan - opted for scoops of coffee, choco and hazelnut ice creams.
Overall the food was not too bad, but the service left a lot to be desired. The waitresses worked hard but the coordination was simply not there. The Ruci & Idoni the staff looked completely confused on who ordered what (of course it was not helped much by foodies changing their seats and walking around). Towards the later half of the meal it just went haywire... the staff were coming out with the main courses... and literally dumping it to the first empty space they found on the table.
I think the Bistro has good potential but they really need to concentrate on service especially to large groups. Otherwise it will not be a very fulfilling experience for the food enthusiasts.
Will possibly try out an a-la-carte visit as the menu looked interesting, even at the risk of being disappointed.
Food - 3.5/5
Ambiance - 4/5
Service - 2/5
Service needs to be improved!
I was here on the Hyderabad Foodies weekly event. The ambiance and interiors are done to perfection. The combination of colors red and black is my favorite and I was very impressed with the way they utilized these colors. You would find a lot many sticky notes on the walls appreciating their cuisine. Now lets talk about the food, we had a preset menu.
The menu goes like this;
- Chicken Spinach Soup - this is creamy spinach soup with corn and chicken. I usually stay away from soups, but after everyone going gaga over it, I had to try and it did not disappoint me. It was tasty and creamy yet not too thick. You can feel the flavors of spinach very distinctively. After a very long time I had a wonderful soup.
- Smoked Chicken Pizza - the pizza is not like the regular pizza you get elsewhere. It is very thin and their own style pizza yet little crunchy to taste. It is supposed to come with smoked chicken topping and believe me I hardly found anything on the pizza, this was a disappointment but the cheese and fresh green pepper corns was a welcoming taste. If not for the quantity of chicken I would have enjoyed it more.
- Chicken Bruchetta, as a short eat was a nice and tasty one but would have liked if the bread would be crunchier. The chicken and cheese was perfectly done.
- Spinach Ricotta Croquettes, again another short eat was by far one of the best of the day.
- Tomato & Basil Bruchetta, it is also a short eat and it was very refreshing, especially the basil which added a different flavor. I did like this one.
- Chicken Fricassee is from the main course, served with Chicken, Carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, broccoli etc) in white sauce. This was well done with the creamy texture and taste of the dish was very fascinating.
- From the Desserts I had Chill Stone Ice Cream Creation it was done well, my choice was chocolate and nuts. It was very nice.
- I had tasted Hazelnut and chocolate tart. This is one of the worst dessert I ever had. The tart was rock solid and you need a hammer to break it down. I brought this to the notice of the chef and he did give me a reason but I was not satisfied with it. When you pay for good food, you are not here to take their reasoning why it went wrong.
- I also tried the Mango Cheese Cake, thanks to fellow foodies, this was more like a souffle and mousse and pudding but no way close to be called a Cheese cake. But the flavour of the Alphonso mango was amazing. For the sake of the Alphonso mango I had it else I would have given it a skip.
- The other items disappointed most of the foodies and I did taste couple of them and I was very unhappy with them.
I ended my meal with drink, I asked the hostess (Sarana) to get whatever she felt good, and it was nice and I am pleased with the combination.
I appreciate Ms. Sarana, Ms. Kim and Mr Praveen for putting a lot of effort to remember our foodies and serve their order from the preset menu; it was really a test for their memory. I thank the entire team for putting an effort to make this a successful event. The service was a little haywire due to two parties going side by side and as usual their regular guest pouring in which also added to their woes.
I suggest the management to look into this area and improve their efficiency to satisfy more customers.
Overall I am delighted but not totally content with food. The food portions were little disappointing and few were out of taste. The tables and chairs are neat and tidy. The cutlery is perfect. Parking is not an issue. Rest rooms are hygienic. I would re-visit this place to get my second opinion.

Excellent ambience and yummy food
We have visited this place thrice. I admit that I thought the good food was a 'fluke' the first time..... but 3 times in a row.....hats off to the chef at Ruci & Idoni (Banjara Hills). Their onion rings and the dips are to die for. The pizza is worth the effort of driving to this place and their desert of brownie and icecream or caramel and ice cream is simply out of this world. i would strongly suggest this place for their veg fare especially the sandwiches ...great cooking chef!!!
The best time to visit Ruci and Idoni is early in the evening. You can sit back and relax over a cup of coffee or tea, and then have dinner when you are ready. The main course doesn't have a lot to offer if you aren't in the mood for pizzas, and veggies might not be pleased with the options. However, I thoroughly enjoy the grilled chicken, and invariably finish things off with the alcohol infused Tiramisu.
Wouldn't go there again
The place has good ambiance like any other Ohri's restaurants. The service is extremely bad. I had to ask repeatedly for water, menu and for someone to take my order.
My husband and I ordered the Club House Salad, Belgian Meat Pizza and Spinach Ravioli. The salad was bad and poorly presented. The pizza was ok but why they call it Belgian meat pizza, I had no idea. I was just a this crust pizza base with a pieces of salami thrown on it with toppings here and there. Please, if you ever do go there, do NOT order the ravioli. All they give is lasagna sheets in pasta sauce instead of actual ravioli.
I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
bistro esque ! fab location good interiors and not crowded
its reopened . management has changed but the furniture interiors remains the same ................menu is new
the old ruci n idoni's food was tres expensive and not worth it . however it was a good place to hang out , never crowded like the other coffee jaunts ,good music n interiors
now its reopened ,
tried the kaapi royale cold coffee. too much ice tasted ok
for starters ordered the quiche lorraine @ 145 rs. i liked this esp the sauce and the potato wedges. the portion is huge enuf to be the main course
for the main course ordered fish cilantro. could have been better .....not wow exactly
the most irritating thing is here the staff will not let u eat in peace . every two mins someone will come and ask u if the food tastes alright . 5 times i was asked if the food was nice. it felt like we were hired to taste new recipes .......
value for money 7/10
go here if u just wanna hang out . read a book. want to spend hours idling away and not mind the constant barrage of questions from the staff
Just about Average-Ohri's Rucci & Idoni
The old place is now rechristened as Ohri's R&I,but nothing major has changed if at all the disappointments have been added!
The place has an entry from inside Nature's Basket as well as from the outside.Valet parking available, though I did not use it.I parked in front of Nature's Basket. The elevator is a unique one as it has doors opening to both sides(this is to facilitate people who want to take it from the shop as well people who are coming in from outside).
Place is brightly lit and is all in a red and black decor. No tablet menus or anything of that sort.Just a misleading news item to get in the crowds I suppose.
The place was relatively empty. They have tables(can seat 4) lined up by the glass wall overlookin the main road and the rest of the place has these huge sofas which are very very uncomfortable to sit.You can only sit on those sofas-not sit and eat,you would have a severe backache if you try eating sitting on them as the seats are too long and hence the distance between the table and the sofas are huge(ergonomically all wrong).Situation similar to Hadippas(ofcourse the height here is not a problem).
Menu is in the form of a hard board(so that blows the lid off the tablets).I did not see any tablets anywhere.Typically Ohris- the place is flooded with staff with a lot many of the managers/asst managers etc walking around with their own air of importance.Every request gets passed down the chain of hierarchy before it gets implemented.Since I was alone I had all the time in the world to sit around and observe.Next table couple asked for some sauces when the manager came by to ask the customary-All izz well?.The sauce request travelled down the entire hierarchy as I was observing in the following manner:Manager-Asst Manager-Captain-Waiter-Junior most Waiter and all that had to be done was pick the bottle from the adjacent table!
Service training anywhich ways was-is-and will never be a highlight of Ohris is the same here.Too many people coming around asking to take the order,if they are touting this to be premium, then they need to be acting like premium as well not premium just on the menu!
Ordered for Caesar Classico chicken salad and a chicken piri piri.I remember reading somewhere else some time ago the piri was a portuguese do with a mediterranean flavor. The salad was a complete downer, all it had was some chicken and loads of lettuce and some hard to find shavings of parmesan cheese, dry and fried bread crumbs and comes with a half piece of bread. To be brutally frank, this salad is just the same as what you get in all the Basera buffets in the name of chicken salad. Its just that its given a name and a price here!
Service was slightly confusing,i wanted my piri nice and warm and the person who took the order told me it would take a minimum of 25minutes which was fine with me as I was in no hurry plus i was with the salad for company. But voila,i place the order and within a minute the piri piri comes and I was like whaaat. They just diverted some other wrong order onto me ,no idea what went wrong,i declined it saying i want it after some time so it went back and in a minute the same thing went to another table. So much for confusions.
The piri was nice, though chicken was super hard, the steel cutlery knife just couldnt cut through it,one would probably need the real proper knife(similar to what Yokos used to give).I had a tough time(i guess the chicken had to be grilled a wee bit more). The dish was spicy and it came with a complimentary small bowl salad and half a piece of long garlic bread which was toasted and cooled so it was very difficult to bite into it
Overall the place is just ok IMHO.Nothing to rave about, yes slightly better off than its previous avataar thanks to the pricing being slightly better.Salads are priced at 150,Starters of the bread varieties are priced at 145,pizzas are priced between 260 and 350 but the portions are small-personal pan sizes.Pastas are priced at 280-350.The piri piri was 260.The desserts and shakes are between 150 and 300.Burgers and sandwiches between 160 & 250.The place has a glass kitchen.
My experience tells me that I might go there once again, but frankly the service and miserable quantities of cheese in the dishes left me with mixed feelings. There is a 10pcnt service charge and a 14.5 VAT.,which means I ended up paying a good 100+ extra.A meal for one would easily cost 500rs as portions are just apt for one.
Its a good place to go once in a blue moon.I still miss my Bangalore's Casa Piccola.
nice ambience ...but ...
this is about the rd no 10 one cause the gvk one closed:
service by waiters 7/10
cold coffees, milkshakes 8/10
if u have travelled the world , eaten in boulangeries or patisseries in paris or london or for that matter if u have eaten in the best of mumbai and delhi , ruci and idoni in hyd will dissapoint u.
the owner had a good idea of the supermarket downstairs very convenient and well maintained , but the 3rd floor cafe is not so wow when it comes to food .ambience is very comfy and relaxing and u could spend hours here chatting with your friends.
the saving grace are the cold coffees and the chilly garlic bread. the risotto tastes different everytime u order one ,,,,,, the pizzas are nothing to write home about ....
just wish when they had invested a fortune on the property and interiors , the food could have tasted a notch higher...
hydbadis can afford to shell out more now than ever b4 for good global cuisine... but its very rare that in this city the food matches up to the location, interiors and service and the fancy names..........
Nice place but Pricey for its class
I traveled 1.5hrs one way to visit Ruci & Idoni because I was craving a decent sandwich in town. I ordered the Grilled Panini Sandwich which was delicious, but quite pricey at Rs. 295 for a medium sandwich. Maybe I am accustomed to larger portions, but since I left out the bacon, they could have added something else, since the sandwich was not really filling. The french fries served alongside were crisp and perfect. My DH ordered the Tuna Salad Sandwich at Rs.205, which I found to be extremely fishy. We did not order any drinks, because our bill was already at Rs. 500+ so far.
I wanted an Almond Croissant for dessert, but they ran out of it. So settled for Tiramisu priced at Rs.140. It was the most horrible piece of Tiramisu I ever had. I have visited many an authentic Italian place and have eaten enough Tiramisu to state the obvious: Guys you have gotten it wrong completely. Tiramisu is just mascarpone cheese alternating with ladyfingers dipped in espresso. The version I had at your bistro was hard and lumpy, and the cake tasted like cardboard. Tiramisu is supposed to be light and airy, yours was dense and greasy. Please revisit the recipe and see what you are doing incorrectly.
I am addicted to your Almond Croissant, so pls keep that up!
4 stars because you are a neat and extremely clean bistro and I would like to see you succeed.
not worth money
we went their for Sunday buffet break which was kind of Dubious as it's not buffet just like mini Thali
for 2 people we paid Rs 826 (Included service charges of 35 bucks) and all you get is
you get a card with menu items and you need to select any one item in that card so ideally here is what i got
1 glass fo Fresh juce which teh waiter pored out of a packet with Brand name KDB printed on it
1 piece of small pancake with 10 ml of maple syrup/sugar syrup
scrambled egg made of 1 egg
1 piece of Hash brows each of teh size of 5 Rupee coin
1 Piece of Junk Muffin which tasted like eating Raw floor
A glass of Team
1 Piece of brown bead in 2 triangular pieces,
i appreciate all the who have give positive reply on this joint but by end of day i felt cheated by advertising it as "Sunday Buffet" breakfast,
Lovelyyy lunch at Ruci & idoni.....
I think this new year is for an interesting start. We popped out for a quick luncheon at ruci & idoni, and there is had a 3 course meal, fresh ceaser salad + Pasta arabita + Brownie just for Rs.299. meal was sumptuous and total value for money. Need to make frequent visits here :)
Love their Sunday Breakfast..!!
I have been to the ruci&idoni Bistro on a number of occasions. My friends & i totally love that place coz it has great ambience & food.We normally go for their Special Sunday Breakfast. You get to an assortment of Eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, waffles, pancakes, muffins, juices etc.Its a totally scrumptious meal that i love waking up for on Sundays :)
Good for an average american food
We went there this afternoon and the bistro was quite, had only 1 or two tables besides us.
I liked the menu design since it had some of my favorite movies like good bad ugly, godfather etc. The menu had quite a bit of choices and it all looked too good.
We ordered a barbeque chicken sandwich, barbeque pizza, chicken lasagna and waffles. They could increase the quantity and quality of the food.
The service was just right and so keep it up.
Not worth the price
I had gone of a meal there in the noon today. A veggie burger cost Rs. 195 which is just a cutlet, a slice of lettuce and a slice of tomato between a bun of size 3 inch. a few french fries.... taste was ok... but absolutely not worth 195.
the mushroom rissotto was very very dry and tasted as if it was re heated in the microwave and given.
a sad meal for two with softdrinks costs 650. better options around.
drop dwn here 4 their pan pizzas

V ordered for a thin crust chicken brbq pizza...infact crust was ultra thin...taste was gud but @ 295 Rs...an iced lemon tea...and a nut based ice cream which was decent and again highly priced..gotta mention abt da chairs..very hugeeee...and comfotbl...ambience makes it nice place 2 be with decent fud @ very premium cost...
Food and service both quite pedestrian ...
Late lunch today with a friend - the vegetable broth has quite a simmer of oil, but otherwise just about passable - the pasta of the pasta chicken alfredo was undercooked, chicken pieces unmarinated, and too little sauce making it dry, disappointing. The pizza mediterranean though was quite good. The service was extremely inattentive. The prices high considering the very mediocre quality of both food and service. The soup and pasta were not even served with a side order of a roll / garlic bread.
Overall just about average, if one throws in the newness and the concept - else below average.... 3 stars here because I am in a generous mood ...
well i am very surprised at the comment below...maybe you got lucky harbinger... i that way was very unlucky... my husband and i had gone there in the evening, to their bistro in banjara hills... and my god it was horrible... the place is very expensive for the kind of nonsense they serve... fancy names and no more... thats all there is to their bistro... that was our first and last visit there...
maybe its a lottery... best o luck to their next customer :)
