Kebabs and Grilled food...
Visited this place as part of anniversary celebrations of a couple very dear to me. This is a restaurant near Kothaguda X Roads modeled on the lines of Flame and Grill and Great Kebab factory.
The interiors are no frill nice and clean. We had a big gang of about 40-50 people and in an environment where the skewers of kababs are served on the table I was pretty apprehensive of the service. However I would give the restaurant staff full marks on this aspect. The service was very prompt.
Talking about the food, there were 5 starters. In veg there was Aloo in green marinade as well as the Paneer Skewer. Personally I did not like the green aloo much, but the paneer was marinated the right amount and went well with the capsicum and tomatos which alternated on the same skewer. The non-veg starters were Fried Chicken Wings in a honey sauce, Chicken Tikka, and Fish Kebabs. The chicken wings were much sought after, and the restaurant served refill after refill. Since it was a big bad bong group we possible ate all the Fish Kababs cooked for the day. The Chicken Tikka was succulent and melted in the mouth.
I was nearly full after a huge dose of starters, so the propensity to try out everything on the main course was low. I must say that the main buffet spread was also pretty large. Tried out the Fish in Burmese Sauce with Fried Rice, Chat Pata Anda, and the mutton (forgot the name of the dish) with naans. Each tasted good. Was too full to try the balance.
The staff is courteous and helpful. Overall a good placed to visit when you have a big appetite.

Failed copy of Barbeque nation
Visited quite some time back. Ordered for vegetarian food.
Since the name is grillz and they have a mini grill at the table (like Barbeque nation), we were expecting some roasted/grilled starters. But, except the paneer tikka, all other starters were fried ones (veg crispy, manchurian etc. etc.). Tried explaining it to the waiter/manager. Got a sheepish smile which conveyed the message "We are thoroughly dumb and clueless ". Went for main course. The chef makes up in cleverness which the waiter/manager lost by dumbness.
There is one green coloured gravy. It was served up in three ways--Palak Paneer, Hariyali veg...and mixed with rice to form some hariyali or something pulav. The only things that didn't have green colour in them were steam rice and yellow dal.
Bottomline: Half an hour drive and half litre petrol is worth spending to go to barbeque nation from Kondapur.
We came here for team lunch on Thursday.we were 17 people and booked the table one day before. The seating arrangement was not all good..It is very congested...The food was not that great....There are very limited dishes for both veg and non-veg....Deserts were not that great..service is very slow..Overall experience was bad...very disappointed with the food...the Buffet is not at all Worth...Disgusting restaurant
Good Food and Desserts
I came to know about place from Facebook, pictures and reviews looked fine ...so i thought I will try the place... the non-veg food was good ..and I specially loved the desserts .. though cant say the same for Veg food and choices . Overall I would give this place a 4/5 for the ambience and awesome desserts
I went along with my wife expecting a good sizzler. But it was pathetic.. Overly priced without many choices. Infact in veg they had 1/2 choices only. When we finally got one, it was more like south indian meal than sizzler.
It was such a pathetic exp that we left before eating it and decided not to visit this place ever again.
Great food but overpriced
Hi, my first review on Burrp. This is the third time I had dined in Sizzling Grillz, Kondapur, Hyderabad and thought of writing a review.
First, the food was awesome. The starters were too good, Chicken and mutton were soft enough to be melted in mouth. The welcome drink served was bit sweet but blended well with the spicy kababs. We did not try much of veg-kababs, but paneer and babycorn were good again.
Main course was good (as expected from this kind of buffet). Spread was quite homogenous (that means, you need not to have roti with chicken manchurian like some other buffet restaurants). All three cuisines-- north Indian, south Indian and Chinese were there in main course-- and not just one or two varieties.
Deserts were awesome, just awesome. Most of them are European deserts and lip-smacking. Overall 8 to 10 types of desert were there.
Service was prompt and good.
The only issue was price-- it seems they charge almost double on Friday night and weekends. So my request, go there on weekdays.
After seeing numerous advertisements of the restaurant, finally got a chance to visit the same last month. The place was pretty much empty, except for one other table being occupied. The ambience was good, however the seating arrangement is not comfortable. They have a lunch/diner buffet and only (pastas, sizzlers) on the Ala-Carte menu. The starter portions were small and exorbitantly priced for the quantity served. Coming to the taste it looked like some spices were sprinkled on the starter and served. We had ordered for a chicken based sizzler, there was very little chicken in it and more of boiled vegetables. The chicken was tasteless and insipid.
On the whole, it was an upsetting experience.
Well after seeing the other all positive reviews, I thought it was a nice place. Well now I consider these as fake reviews. Though the menu for buffet looked good, the starters were awful. Bad service, had to repeat order so many times. Never got the roti that was ordered.
Worst was to come. In evening few of us had stomach problems and I had allergy, when consulted doctor told me that it happens due to usage of adulterated oil.
Now I leave the decision to the viewers. Don't get carried away by the online positive reviews.
Pretty Good, Value for Money
After seeing so much publicity I finally decided to visit this place, I got 20% discount coupon as a part of SodexO vouchers that I get in office.
I already read the reviews about this place that its in the terms of BBQ nation etc etc.
I think this place is worth it, the best part about this place which sets it apart from BBQ nation is the croud and rush.
Although the concept is same, but this restaurent has limited covers, I think there about 15 tables of 4-6 ppl each. So this place does not get crowded on the Buffet. As in BBQ nation, where its gets messy on weekends because of large number of covers and housefull.
The Barbecue is on the table and let me tell you, the starters are really good. I found them really tasty.. Achari Prawns and Schezwan Mutton was something unique and different. Best part about the prawns was that they were de-veined properly. Because of this I enjoyed the Prawns otherwise I usually avoind prawns in restaurents.
Total of 10 starters 5 veg 5 non veg. All of them tasted pretty good. Although I focused on Non Veg starters more :))
Another good point about this place is its service. Whenever I asked for something it was fulfilled in less than 2 mins. Be it starters or ice in my drink. Waiter served the soup on the table.
Soup was really tasty, just the right texture and thickness. Buffet had good choice, I really liked the noodles. Other gravies were 7/10. Biryani 9/10
Desserts - 6/10 (same choice of what we get in any good buffet in city including star hotels.)
So I think its worth going to this place for a good evening and being in Kondapur this is pretty close to ppl living in this side of Hyd. Which had to go till Banjara Hills to enjoy such BBQ grillz.
So visit this place for:
- Less crowded, no Q at Buffet, which I hate in BBQ nation
- Tables are big enough
- Good Service
- Starters and Soups
Overall experience - 9/10 - Good job..
Good but not the Best
Went on a Friday afternoon for Lunch Buffet....If you have already tried BBQ Nation, its exactly on similar lines....the starters were alright....the main course had many veg options which was a delight for veggies...the sweets were okay but cakes were totally delicious...
Ambience was mesmerising and we got a table which was secluded n less noisy....we enjoyed the food....some of the stuff was not that spicy...however, it caters to both spicy n non spicy customers....
Cost was 400 including taxes which was a little over the board....ideally BBQ offers a better non-veg buffet with kebabs at 300(this was 6 months back toh)....also sizzling grillz has very few main course options for non veggies...which was a dissapointment...
the fish in the starter was amazing...while the main course fish was smelly n totally in bad taste...the chicken was good...both in starters n main course...
all in all, a place to try for sure since it saves so much of your time n energy....located at a very easy to park n move location....
I do my grocery shopping at the supermarket one floor below, and wandered in to this restaurant on a whim. Not sure why, but my expectations were kinda low: anyways was very pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, service and taste.
I was blown away by the quality and quantity of the starters (great kebabs!) and desserts. Did n't even try any of the main courses this time, but I'll definitely be going back there pretty soon.
Great food, really had a delicious evening
The Restaurant has got a amazing interiors, the moment I entered, was surprised to see the beautifully maintained interiors, hope they maintain the same throughout.
The bbq kebabs are excellent since I could have really hot kebabs grilled by myself.
The buffet spread has got a variety of cuisines like italian, continental, chinese, Thai, Indian, South Indian, etc., not to forget the mouthwatering desserts and Gulab Jamun, Phirni, to complete a full delicious meal.
Certainly not value for money
This restaurant is exactly on the lines of Barbeque Nation and a lot other 'also-rans' which have sprouted across the city. I got a call 30 minutes after having reached the restaurant that I had booked a table and that they were waiting for me. On informing that I was already there 30 minutes back, the lady did not believe and actually came checking to the table to reconfirm!
While the staff recommended that we take a buffet barbeque lunch, I was surprised to note that on asking the charges, I was informed that it would be approx Rs 500 incl taxes per head including for a 6 year old child! Now, I have been to all kinds of places from dhabas to 7 star restautrants but have never heard of a buffet costing the same for a child as for an adult - and all the more for a place like Sizzling Grillz which has no history or reputation to bask in.
Anyhow, we ended up ordering a-la-carte where the menu was very very limited. The 2 sizzlers that we ordered were obscenely small in portion size and and certainly not matching the price that was charged for it. The service was poor and it took almost 45 minutes for the food to come that too when there were only 3 more tables occupied besides ours and 2 of those tables were going for a buffet! The food quality was ok though.
No where was it informed in the Menu Card that they were charging 10% of the invoice as 'service charges' and had I known that, I would not have added additional tip AT ALL.
The ambience and interiors are very well done but the owners needs to certainly pull up the socks on all the other aspects. A good restaurant does not run just by spending loads of money on it. It needs a lot more attention to detail.......
Sumptuous hot grills on charcoal
Since I am keen sizzelers lover, decided to visit this not-so-far restaurant.
It's an easy to locate place with good parking place. Just take the first U turn after you cross the kothaguda signal.
The ambience of the restaurant was simply impressive. They did a good job in managing nice decor in a relatively small place. Initially we thought of having sizzlers, however was insisted on trying the regular buffet and what a buffet that was !
We simply loved the starters (both veg. and non veg.)on the charcoal grill right in middle of our table. The kebab's were fresh and delicious. The buffet serve was a regular mix of indian and continental food. The dessers were yummy.
On the service part, we enjoyed the personal touch by them. They recommended us to try various dishes on the buffet.
Simply a must try (for their finger licking kebab's and prompt service)
