Memorable Experience ever
Visited kabab factory on 20July along with my cousin and my family to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Had a great lunch with variety of kababs and then deserts took a good place with its own uniqueness. During this I lost my brand new gold bracelet there and I returned back home and found the next day that I lost it. I checked my car and also my home and then called the restaurant. They responded and informed that they found it the previous day in wash room and asked to collect it. I was really happy to see people returning precious yellow metal now a days. Thanks again for returning me my memorable bracelet and also for the memorable lunch restaurant has provided.
Went to this place with my mom, sister, cousin and her husband with their kid [my nephew :)]. Must say, the people working were courteous. The buffet was reasonable after applying coupons through snapdeal (although their actual price of rs.800 change is heavy!! The discounted price should have been the MRP). Food was yummy!! The only improvement need to be done by the chef is the fried fish provided was having oil taste on the external layer. otherwise, the other kebabs were delicious ! :-) Service was really quick! Had to say them to wait for sometime and get back to us :D
Worth trying! This was my experience. It may vary from person to person so, enjoy the place, meal and gupshup :)
Recent Visit to the Kabab Factory
I wanted to try out the kababas at this place for quite sometime. I got a chance last night.I must admit, the service is top notch, they will start delivering the kababas at a very fast speed as soon as you place the order and keep checking back with you. You need to tell them to slow down if you are in a more relaxed mood, they will themselves ask you about the speed, and the quality of kababs, adjust the serving speed as per your requirements.Kabaab BarietyChicken sheekh Kabab, Fish Kabab, Chicken Lahori Kabab, Gulati Meat Kabab,Mutton Chops with little gravy. I had already read and did my homework on what to eat and what not, so i tried all the kababas, veg curries, gravies- Bhendi burgi is good, Paneer gravy was also nice, the Dal makhni was also quite good. You have the options of selecting all the rotis-I went with Butter Naan.Skipped the chicken birayani. In Dessserts, The Paan Ice cream has very different and a unique state, kulfi was quite ok.
The main thing that stood out for me was the Gulati Kabab with the Utlaa Tavva Paratha, they are very delicate. The waiter told me put them in the paratha and put onions and the mint chutney with them..Simply irressistable !!!
Price tag Rs 756 ( incl all taxes) is a little too high.... A must visit place for kabab lovers.
Pretty Good !! Classy
So first thing that comes into your mind is Barbecue Nation vs. The Great Kabab Factory. This review is more of a comparison than a TGKF review. So keeping you posted in advance.
I have been to TGKF 2 times in last 2 weeks. Both the weekends. Now Hyderabad is pretty use to the Barbecue style of serving after Barbecue Nation intorduced it in Hyderabad few years ago and Hyderabadi people have been queing outside BBQ Nation. Its always Full. Then came TGKF few years ago. I heard about it so many times but never dared to visit because of its high pricing. Which they still dare to maintain.
TGKF is all about serving your meal on the table be it anything from kebabs to desserts to the main course.
Variety is very less @ TGKF but as a human being we cannot taste more than that. Think practically, when we go for buffet, we hardly eat anything. The mindset of eating from a big cheffing dish is different. @TGKF you get eveything at your table. Which makes the overall experience much better than BBQ nation.
After eating barbecue on table (like BBQ nation style) so many times, this is my conclusion. BBQ on Table concept is good only for sometime. If you think that by brushing your kebab with fat on the coal on your table will make your kebab more tasty then you are wrong. We are still amateurs. All will always be amateurs when it comes to kebab making. A real kebab is only made in an TANDOOR and tastes best when made by a CHEF. Not by an amateur like you and me. So next time while brushing your kebab at BBQ nation remember that you are not making the kebab better, you are actually spoiling it. If experience is all that matters to you then you should try TGKF as well. Taste is much much better than other Kebab Places and the set Menu dishes are very well chosen by the Chef. TO ADD - All the dishes (3-4 Main courses) 3-4 desserts taste mindblowing. You see, the word - Mindblowing. That word never came out whenever I treated myself at any Kebab Place.
To conclude above, Taste is much much better at TGKF. Kebabs are served at your table right out of Tandoor and are perfect as they are made by a Chef. You mind does not deviated by the coal on your table, but remains focused one thing - TASTE of the Kebabs.
Coming to Main courses, there are fewer main course, 1 dal, 2-3 sabzis, 1-2 Non Veg Gravies. But let me tell you all of them taste fabulous.
Desserts again are fewer, but all of them taste nice. Try out the paan flavoured ice cream. Very unique.
For overall conclusion,
You might complain that the variety is less when compared to other places, but let me tell you, the taste, Ambience is much better than any other Kebab/ BBQ place in Hyderabad. BBQ Nation is more on the casual side with getting up again and again is something which does not qualify in my list of fine dining.
Pricing is around 750 Bucks for dinner buffet, which is smilar to BBQ nation's pricing for weekend dinner.
Good kababs, bad main course
We decided to check out their 750 buck buffet, inclusive of unlimited servings of kababs, a couple of main course entrees and bread. The kababs were fine but nowhere compared to Lucknow. Most of it was either Tandoori or fried. We asked for daal, chicken and garlic nan in the main course. Average to poor.
Overall, not value for money if all you get is a platter of kababs. Not highly recommended.
Authentic Taste and a Lavish spread
Firstly, I would like to say that in this city of Nawabs, very few restaurants live upto the name of serving food fit for a king. But TGKF has proved that there are still a few that can serve up a great platter of Kebabs. We were a group of four but we ate like ten. Loved the food and my friends and me are definitely coming back for more. Beware TGKF, Stock up!
Horrible food. Cannot believe people go here
Well I want to say a lot of things but first things first. The moment I came out from this place after eating the single most worst meal I have ever eaten in any restaurant , I thought to myself - How is this place getting customers with such horrible food. We went for dinner , 6 of us. went for the RS 600 per head buffet. the only kabab which was worth eating was the galouti kabab. rest all tasted bad with no salt and overall no real quality. people who know their food, trust a fellow foodie like me and please dont go there. it is horrendous food. the biryani is the worst i ever tasted. i doubt it can be even called biryani. it is blasphemy to city of hyderabad that a biryani like this is being served in a restaurant in hyderabad. this is a buffet but the service is not as efficient as barbq nation. in barbq nation they keep getting the food continuosly. here we have to wait for the kababs to arrive. and when they arrive they taste horrible. the biryani tasted like i was eating uncooked rice which turned into flour in my mouth while i was chewing.
by the end , i felt double depressed that now I have to actually pay for this!
damage - 3600 + 14.5 % VAT + 10 % = 4500 change
I never felt so robbed in a restaurant before
the only thing good about this place is the ambience
if u want to look at the ambience and lie to yourself that the food is OK/ Not bad etc etc go here.
if u want to eat food - AVOID
Taste to adore
The overall experience of enjoying good food is ryt here.. The taste of each recipe was delicious. Its worth having food even though the pricing is lil higher. But, i suggest all the non veg lovers to enjoy ur buffet at the max.. You'll get a good food which is worth the price and also the masala stuffed kebabs would definetely blow you out.. It has got all the starters you wud love to hav..
Indeed a FACTORY of Great Kababs!
If you are crazyly hungry and do have some good amount of money in ur pocket! do visit this factory of kababs! its Unlimited lip smacking collection! truely royal rich taste! after you are done hogging on the kababs they serve u the main course which is also a heavy affair on ur poor tummies. the DAL MAKHANI is a surprise package. its finger lickin stuff. then comes the sweet. the innovative "PAN ice cream" which tastes like deep frozen pan. overall from antre' to dessert its worth the money!
Finally a place for Authentic Kababs
After Lucknow and Peshawar, if one is looking for Kababs that melt in your mouth then it is The Great Kabab Factory. True to the name the Kababs are simply great especially their Galouti Kabab. Only piece of advice is skip a meal before you go as they stuff y
Probably the worst restaurant I had visited in Hyderabad. We went there as part of team outing and the both the food and service were abysmal. The prawns were undercooked and all the kebabs had a strong smoky taste. There are better alternatives for the price they're charging
Just not worth it
My rating for the place based on my experience is pretty abysmal.Far too many questions asked by the staff rather than serving the kebabs. The unlimited fare is a farce. They do the 1st rounds and then keep asking you if you want more(with a statement written on their faces which implores you to say NO i dont want anything more:) ) they serve you around 8kebabs or so and then expect you to remember the names during their q&a session.Rates are way too expensive and with both the veg & non veg "packages being charged the same(a princely INR 675) and something that I found funny is that if you opt for the non veg,you are "denied" the veg kebabs.Service is pathetic in terms of efficiency & courteousness. All in all definitely not a pleasant experience.I think Bbq Nation wins the competition hands down in this category:).One more place added to my list of "Do Not Visit Again" :).Heard rave reviews of the place in other cities, but if this is the standards they set,I have my own doubts.Definitely not recommended in Hyd atleast.
Overprised, pathetic and awful food.
It was a monday evening, therefore the place was empty.
As it is a prefixed menu the kababs were served and to my suprise it was terrible.
They were burnt, overcooked and tasteless. The lamb chops were a complete dismal.
Everything from the welcome drink ( which was a terrible cough syrup cloured green sharbat) to the main course( it was the first time in my fine dining expierence to be have been served bhindi fry) everthing was a complete flop. The only breather was the pan flavoured ice cream. You do not pay 600+ and expect such terrible food. The place is a complete over hype and never would i dare to go again or recommend anyone.
With the same money
one can have a sumptuous buffet spread in a place like Novotel or Westin. Please improve.
It is an awful place
We went there to celebrate my Hubby's B'day... N wat a disaster it was....!!!! I can never forgive/forget this place for its pathetic food n service & stupidly overpriced buffet which has nothing to offer except for dal makhani n bhendi for main course... I mean I dint pay 600/person for bhendi in main course.....!!!!!!!!!
The service is terrible, the management is poor & the food is rubbish.....
I have written this review only so tht ppl who wish to visit the restaurant save their money n go some place else or better still donate tht much amount to a charity..!!!!
NOT ALWAYS THINGS ARE BAD
Its intresting in Hyderabad that Guests always want beyond expectations. Been a gourmet myself, ate almost at every place, a guest must go with an open mind to eat and just enjoy and not as a critique. If the things are not right in restaurant, one may ask to change the dish, Iam sure every good hotel does that, in case if they do not do then evry one has right to comment.
Expectaions are good but enjoying is more important.
There are many kebab places in Hyderabad but the worst is "The Great Kebab Factory". The ambiance of the restaurant is very good but the kebabs themselves are smothered in spices that you cannot taste the meat at all. The spices overwhelm every dish (who ever thought that any spicy is attractive for Indian palate?) The only good food in this restaurant is the Paan. If you want to have good grilled food head for 'The Barbecue Nation'.
Great Kababs..don't miss it!
Great Kabab factory as the name suggests is a great place for Kababs. Lots of varieties of Veg and Non veg kababs..never expected this unique range for veg kababs. The chicken kababs, panner tikka were very soft and tasty but the mushroom kabab was just superb. We had it on their staff's suggestion and believe me we just Loved it. It just melted in our mouth..had never had such a tasty kabab earlier! The concept of serving on your table is different and usually causes delay (agreed) but the positive side of it is that the kababs we get are fresh and hot, right from the kitchen, and thats what we want..hence definitely worth the wait!
The buffet main course is ordinary and can be surely missed...
The desserts are great, specially the pan ice cream, do save a little space for it..the kulfi is great too! Bit expensive but the food is worth all the penny spent!
Food was worst.
I'm a Hyderabadi. I love food in Hyderabad. The food here(Kabab Factory) is really bad. The kebabs are really bad to taste. Too bland and tasteless (Not really Hyderabad style). Its really confusing what you are having as they are serving the food even its a buffet. Moctails and kulfi was good and doublekaMeeta was horrible in taste. Its expensive and not worth it.
Bad and very expensive affair
I went to this place on Valentine's Day and it was a Sunday so obviously the place was over crowded and the experience was one of the worst in recent times. They serve buffet on the table, and the service is very very slow and poor. Once we were seated for every thing to arrive at our table it would take a minimum of 15 mins time. We were not sure what is in the buffet and the waiter was serving one piece at a time. The taste was also nothing extraordinary. The dinner costed us 1700/-, with buffet for two and 2 mocktails, wouldn't mind spending that much if the experience is worth it. I would never recommend anyone to visit this place.
THIS FACTORY RUNS ON THE SAME CONCEPT OF 'BARBEQUE NATION' WITH ABSENCE OF LIVE BARBEQUE.....
THE KABABS REALLY TASTED DIVINE AND THEIR KABABS ARE UNUSUAL....
HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT KABAB MADE WITH BETEL LEAF...BROCCOLI?
I WENT TO THIS RESTAURANT ALONG WITH MY COUSIN'S FAMILY AND WE ENJOYED THE LIP SMACKING KABAB FEST ON ON OUR PLATTER..
THE SERVICE WAS AWESOME ...MY COUSIN WHO HATES ICE CREAMS REQUESTED FOR A 2ND SERVING OF THEIR MALAI KULFI....
THE MAIN COURSE WAS NOTHING GREAT....CHOICE OF ROTIS,PANNER CURRY ,DAL AND BIRYANI FORMED THE MAIN COURSE AND NOTHING ELSE...BUT NO COMPLAINTS AS OUR STOMACH FILLED WITH THEIR DELICIOUS KABABS...
BUT IT IS HIGHLY EXPENSIVE...SHEDDING 700 BUCKS PER PERSON JUSS TO HAVE KABABS IS TOO MUCH...
YOU CAN VISIT IF PRICE IS NOT AN ISSUE AND YOU WILL WALK OUT WITH UTMOST SATISFACTION...
The concept is new and will take time for first timers to get the hang of it....its definitely an awesome place to have kebabs...the place has good decors except for the orange and blue colored ceilings which are a little confusing...the service gets kinda slow with pouring customers...overall the restaurant is amazing!!!
Not really all that great
I agree with Mxxds's review. The service was really lackluster and we had to ask quite a few times for getting water refilled. The kabab's were also not really all that good, you could hardly tell the difference between one kabab and another. It felt like chewing rubber. So definitely not a fan!
Hmm.... i don't know.!
I agree with mxxds's review and would advise drvamsired to get his tongue replaced. TGKF has kabab's with potential in their taste and preparation and on the other hand there are things which make one think before rating this place. If TGKF puts in major efforts to cater to details mentioned in the previous review , I happily believe it is going to be a great place for Kabab and food lovers.
Abysmal Service Quality - Operationally Challenged
Following is the mail I had sent to the only email ID available on their site:
I just thought of mailing in to let you know of the disappointing experience I had at your Banjara Hills Rd. 12 outlet, Hyderabad last night. Even after the menu was "explained" to us with great panache and we were specifically told to ask for any kabab that we liked after the initial serving, your personnel simply could not get it right. No matter which kabab we asked for, we were served something else. In the middle there was some confusion between the non-veg and the veg server for which my vegetarian guests had to go without food for 15 mins and even after asking for 'Paneer kababs' atleast 4 times, when the server finally arrived - he served them with an Aloo Kabab. The service levels were abysmally low and even after I called one of the so-called managers (the one with the long hair and goatee) - he kept smiling all the time while I was trying to explain to him that something was going horribly wrong. Going by your rates, I had expected this to be a top-notch restaurant and that is the only reason why I had brought over my business colleagues who were visiting Hyderabad for the first time. Needless to say, in future I will think really hard before I even consider conducting any of my office dinners or lunches over there.
Other small things:
- You have a girl who stands inside the entrance of the restaurant. When we reached the top floor we were not too sure of the directions and were a little lost for a while. Is is too much to ask a lady who has been recruited be an usher to to open the door and guide the guests in?
- Every time the onion salad got over, I had to ask for more. Every time the water got over, I had to ask for more. I have been given better attention and felt better taken care of at restaurants that charge half-your-price
- The sizes of the first servings of the paneer kabab and the subsequent ones were very different. The surest way to be rude to a customer is to serve him a full piece first and then a half-piece for the second helping
Overall, your restaurant did not give me a lavish and sumptuous feel that I was hoping for and am used to. Also, it is very unexpected that something that is promoted by the Radisson Hospitality group, would give me an experience where I feel that every morsel of food that was served to me was being measured, weighed - and not to mention, delayed.
kababs are tasty. service is quick.
they dint let me take away the buffet.. so i wasnt so happy! :(
curries are good. Biryani is excellent; the desserts are awesome. KULFI, maal pua, paan ice are just great. the maal pua tasted a lil stale. i had 6 KULFI'S.. non veg buffet was also very good. meat is minced thorougly. ... er thats all for now.!
The Great Kebab Factory started on November 10th, 2008 in Hyderabad. TGKF is a classy restaurant chain (Noida, UAE) branded and managed by the Radisson Hospitality Group.
It follows the concept of ''Serving an Unlimited Dining Experience'' through a unique and brand synonymous ''sit in buffet'' concept. They serve veg and non veg meals. Usually kebabs are associated with non-vegetarian food but surprisingly there are quite a lot of choices for vegetarians too here. The lunch, incidentally lays emphasis on an endless supply of kebabs as main course rather than as starters, in unlimited quantities with a mouth-watering ulte tawa ka paratha. The paratha is a special one, and is cooked on the reverse side of a tawah. This is followed by a host of breads, two kinds of dal and a mixed veg curry, rice and accompaniments, followed by a generous array of dessert. What is interesing is that they serve 4 varieties of desserts. Dont miss the Pan flavoured ice cream which is a mix of vanilla ice cream with sweet paan chunks in a fragrant blend.
The rates vary on weekdays and weekends but this restaurant is a total value for money. Superb food and very good service.
Definetly worth a try.
i am a food freak,i travelled all around india and tasted differnt varieties of kababs in places like patiala, jalandhar.amristar, delhi, and lucknow......but this place GREAT KABAB FACTORY served most horrible kababs...they r not marinated properly, could not appreciate the taste....never felt like eating one more..............only the raddison tag is pulling people to it
