Urvasi Bar & Restaurant, Amogh - Hotel Urvasi Reviews

Urvasi has been a Hyderabad landmark for years. Used to go there during college a decade ago for the cheap alcohol. Decided to go again recently just to see what it was like. The Bar & Restaurant is on two levels, the ground floor is the place where the hardcore drinkers go. The booze is still cheap, the snacks are spicy and the service (if the waiter figures out you're likely to be a decent tipper) is good and fast. This place is meant for the men only - there's no ladies rest room! No music, no distractions - just the dark decor, the freezing AC and the clink of glasses. Don't be surprised to see a solitary drinker in the corner. And also do not be surprised to see men sit side by side instead of opposite each other - I have seen this only in the South and still find it funny :-)

Urvashi! Old times changed for better.

Yes change is good. Once known as a bar restaurant place, it has undergone a complete makeover. The crowd visiting the place is much more sophisticated now than it used to be. Surprisingly, affordable considering the ambiance and services offered. Buffet for breakfast was just so lavish. A lazy sunday morning buffet breakfast at Urvashi is a great idea! Or even a lunch after a tiresome shopping at Hyderabad Central, i loved the spread here!

Kudos to the makeover!

good place to eat

Here i tried all the 3 meals..
i found breakfast to be the best with jus priced at Rs.60
so much of variety and gud food.
but i found manager to be quite arrogant....
"bt ye sab chalta hai bhai"

yet another remastering

Yes, Urvasi, once upon a dingy bar cum restaurant people visited to quench their thirst have reworked under the Amogh administration to become a star hotel.

After a long search went in vain to find Harah's (which does not exist anymore) we finally made up our mind to try this do which has been glittering with its white finishing outside everytime we passed Punjagutta.

They have been offering buffet and À la carte for various Indian and Chinese foods. Buffets for all times are served Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and the Midnight Biriyani Buffet for the night mongers.

We had a wrm welcome to the beautiful aromatic smell which was so Amogh. We seated ourself comfortable at one of the corner. We were utterly pleased with the decor and the presentation of the buffet.

They had a huge spread for the dinner buffet, ranging from Chicken clear soup (indeed as the chicken went missing) to a regional chicken starter to deserts.

my special favorites where the hot Aloo Paratha with the Mutton curry. We hogged and hogged and hogged and ended with a pleased stomach. The mango delight icecream was delight topped with chocolate rolls as the desert. Hot Glanjamun weren't as tasty as Almond House though.

Overall the presentation of the food and the ambiance helped us enjoy the food and the wonderful evening.

Breakfast - Just out of my mind
Lunch - Rs. 178 (approx)
Dinner - Rs. 199
Midnight Biriyani - Rs. 220 (mostly)
