Hotel Transylvania is frightfully fun

If you've spent the last decade thinking that only Pixar is capable of producing animated movies that are as touching as they are fun, then wake up and smell the coffin. Sony's new offering 'Hotel Transylvania' is a 2012's freshest take on the undead and we'll be damned if you don't break out into a Count Dracula accent at least once in the week after you've seen the film.Cast:Hotel Transylvania is frightfully fun

After the death of his wife, Count Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler, unrecognisable) creates Hotel Transylvania, a resort where monsters can let their hair down and where his daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez) can be safe from the 'evil humans'. On her 118th birthday, Dracula plans a grand party for Mavis and invites all his old friends over, that include a werewolf (Steve Buscemi), Frankenstein (Kevin James) and Griffin the Invisible Man (David Spade). Mavis, however, longs to see the world and so her father sets up a fictional village, where zombies dressed like mortals attack her. She swears to never leave the castle again to Dracula's relief but trouble comes calling, when a human backpacker Jonathan (Andy Samberg) finds his way to the hotel. Dracula tries his best to keep Jonathan from meeting the monsters, but soon he is forced to disguise the human as Frankenstein's cousin and introduce him as the party planner for Mavis' birthday bash.

Making monsters look adorable comes easy to director Genndy Tartakovsky (Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory) and his feature film debut is full of lovable oddballs. It doesn't quite pull on your heartstrings as much as an 'Up' did, but there are more than a few aww moments between Dracula and Mavis. There's a priceless jab at the Twilight series that'll make even Robsten fans laugh out loud. 'Hotel Transylvania' is let down slightly by a corny climax, that includes a song - a stunt that's been unsuccessfully attempted by everyone since the first 'Shrek' movie.

'Hotel Transylvania' is one of the year's better animated movies and is frightfully fun for adults and children alike. Go watch it.

At first I thought the same thing, that this movie was gonna be lame. This was beausce I saw that Adam Sandler would be playing Dracula. I was scared to death that he’d keep his American accent. Boy was I wrong! He’s? done an awesome voice acting job so far! I think this movie may actually have potential. But I do want to know one thing:Where’s Selena Gomez’s character????
