Contrary to Reviews Had Unpleasent Experience
Had visited the place on an afternoon some 6-7 months back. Ambiance was good, however had a not so good experience with food. Tandoori rotis served were cold. It appeared like they were made 20--30 min before being served. On pointing this, they put the same rotis in the tandoor to make it warm and in the process burned the rotis and served burnt rotis .It was in the third attempt that they were able to get it right and served warm rotis. Now you don't expect paying huge sums of money and be served cold food .
Also ,I noticed the restroom inside the restaurant was filthy. Not something you find in a good restaurant
If you love North Indian food then do not give Kaafila a miss.
Starting from the friendly ambience to the delicious food, you'll love everything about it.
We were 2 of us dining and the bill came upto Rs.1200(without taxes) which is decent.
Its also offers a whole range of drinks but sadly we were not in a mood to drink which leaves scope for us to visit again :)
Best for North-West Frontier Cuisine in Salt Lake
Nice place with good ambiance... authentic "N-W frontier cuisine"..prices are on the higher side though...portions are just sufficient..service is friendly and helpful...but slightly indifferent at peak hours. Strongly recommended to people looking for authentic North-West Frontier food in Salt Lake.
North West Frontier sets high standards
This place is the best theme restaurant in City Center if not in kolkata. The Peshawari ambiance and lavish North Indian cuisine makes this place set standards in the city of delicacies even for the Vegetarians. Its a bit hot on the pocket (though I would not say its very expensive) but one would real not mind for the delicious food and service that doesn't push you and lets you enjoy the meal. Its a family restaurant if I may say but that doesn't stop it from offering a wide range of drinks to please your thirsty buds.
One must book a table in advance on weekends to avoid hours of waiting.
a great place to go
the food quality here is very very good..though you might get a chance to complain a bit about the kebabs..but that doesn not happen every time..the decor is quite amazing..especially the centre of the area..the staff are very courteous thought the food takes quite a bit of time to be served..
the only problem is getting a seat here if its crowded..and it is very crowded in general..they tend to push in tables where you just cannot sit and they fit you in..which is irritating when you are paying a fair bit..it is on the expensive side..but contrary to what most people say..it wont blow a hole in your pocket..and you can go home satisfied..
U will wish to come back
Yesterday evening I visited this place for 1st time and my experience is more satisfying than I expected. The 1st thing I liked is it's ambiance and decor. As it's a North-West Frontier cuisine specialist the whole environment is decorated with lanterns, carpets and even guns to have a Afgani look and feel and that looks almost real. Food is just awsome. We 1st took a refreshment drink "Pink Panther" which was large enough to serve two and it was really refreshing. Then in main course we ordered "Ghost Biriyani" and "Sunehra Chicken". Both items were very delicious. Service is also good. Price is a bit on the costlier side but the taste of the food will make u forget that. U can also try some items like "Khandani Naan" , "Nawabi Jalpari"(prawn item), "Bhetki ki nazakat"(Bhetki fish), "Laham ..."(Meat), "Gost ka Sekua"(Meat) etc. I will definitely love to visit this place again.
Excellent - If you manage a seat
It is extremely difficult to get a place at this eatery on weekend evenings. They have excellent food on the menu and offer an excellent ambiance too. The service though is not the best of the lot.
The service staff is not the most courteous, but this might be probably an instance or two I have come across. Frankly, this is quite a common situation all over Kolkata, I would say
