When you open up a place and put the word Cocktail in the name itself, you would expect said place to be worthy of the cocktails. Now take that and add cocktail deals to the mix and you are left with Asado. A slightly cheaper neighbor to The Daily, we see Asado to be a place that is not a lot crowded, even during the Deal hours.
Naturally we landed up at 7.10 on a Wednesday evening, when there was literally nobody else. The unlimited cocktail deals that we looked for had a limited selection and the only whiskey based one was the Whiskey Sour (without egg whites). I settled for that while the other patrons at my table settled for Caprioska and Sangria respectively. They let us have one Watermelon Caprioska as part of the deal, while the rest of the subsequent caprioskas were to be the traditional limes. Bummer. 2 hour 800 deal is decent though.
The service was excellent, with them replenishing our drinks quickly.
Among the things to eat, the tacos were not that great, while the Sweet potato gnocci and Aglio olio passed the mark.
The place picked up steam in terms of music after a couple of hours. They only have one unisex washroom, which is a big negative for a bar. There's almost always a line.
Would I rate it too high? Probably not too much but is an option to consider for the area.
