Royal Falooda!

True to its name, Badshah is the real emperor when it comes to faloodas. This establishment is more than 100 years and still stands strong with no signs of slowing down. Not that we would ever want it to!

Situated bang opposite Crawford market, Badshah is a landmark in itself. Fabulously located, it is THE place for all the tired shoppers wanting to grab a bite or a drink. The ground floor itself has a decent seating capacity and the real mini-mango trees on every table make a pretty sight. There is a mezzanine floor with AC seating which is equally big, but slightly cramped.

They have a huge menu of faloodas, sherbets, ice-creams, milk shakes, cold coffee, lassi and so many other drinks. What varieties and flavours! If you like a particular flavour, they give you an option to buy their syrups as well, prices of which are listed on their menu. Inspite of their vast menu, for me it has always been the Royal Falooda which takes Number One position while ordering! Right from childhood, there must have been rare occasions when I have ordered anything other than Royal Falooda. The combination of ice cream, milk, vermicelli and tapioca pearls along with rose syrup makes Royal falooda a super refreshing delight! It is also the cheapest falooda in the menu. Not to mention, the most popular one too! For those who do not like rose syrup, there are plenty of other options such as Kesar Falooda, Chocolate, Strawberry, Butter scotch and so on.

Catering to the need of the hour and location, Badshah started serving snacks around 30 years back. Very rarely have I snacked at Badshah, so cannot comment much on the same. But yes, I have never been disappointed. The food section is also equally popular as the drinks one. The service at Badshah has generally been good. I can understand it must be such a task to handle the increasing crowds which comprise mainly of shoppers with huge shopping bags. During peak hours, they do not serve snacks in the main restaurant. There is a person standing at the entrance guiding customers to their second establishment right next door if they want to have snacks along with the drinks. A good gesture to save their as well as their customers time.

Long live Badshah. A minimum 100 years more will do.

Triggered my love for falooda

I'm not much of a sweets fan so the falooda never held a soft spot in my heart. But I'm always willing to give things another shot. My friend and I were in the Crawford Market area to run a few errands, and so we stopped at Badshah (because it has a special place in my friend's heart). He loves faloodas with a passion.

I asked him for a reco and he suggested the shirazi falooda. I ordered it completely prepared to come out unsatisfied.
Turns out, I loved it. The khus flavors of the shirazi are so wonderfully refreshing. Indeed, all the textures that I dislike are present in the falooda, and yet it made me happy.

Lot of happiness for a 100 bucks. I'll be back.

Falooda!

This place is famous for its faloodas and this is what we went for here. Tried the rose falooda and the special falooda and the were both above average. The drinks are generously laden with dry fruits and ice cream, and its a task finishing one glass itself. Definitely dessert material! My personal favorite would be rose, in comparison to the special falooda as I'm not a mega dry-fruit fan.

Head Here For The Falooda

The name Badshah is synonymous with the word falooda, for that's whats its legendary for. Its without much debate one of the best faloodas one can get in this metropolis. They have a variety of falooda versions and you will be spoilt for choice while deciding which one to have. This place is clean and neat with very brisk and prompt service and usually frequented by famished and parched shoppers. They also have an A/C section which is appropriate during the blazing summer heat. Would rate it 10/10.

Try it yourself!

In a desperate want to quench our thirst after shopping for four long hours, we decided to stop by Badshah Snacks. The restaurant is always crowded and yet the service is prompt. The ambiance is very roadside with noises of people talking on other tables bothering your conversations. This place is worth a visit while shopping around the also the hygiene is what concerns me. We had a few juices, sandwiches and dosa's and the prices wont pinch your pockets

Fast service amazing fast food & faloodas

They have 2 shops side by side, one for snacks and one for cold drinks, juices etc. Their pav bhaji , royal falooda and chaats are really yummm and very reasonably priced, though lately they have increased their prices. The service is really quick, and is the best place to stop after you are tired and hungry after shopping in that area. South Indian cuisine is worth trying too!

Amazing Faloodas and Icecreams!!!

It is a very nice snacking place. The simple pizzas are good. All the faloodas, ice cream soda pops are a must try.

The sandwiches are OK and the burger is overly prized.

Overall, it has good ambience, good food quality and tasty food. Although it is a bit overly prized.

Badshah’s famous falooda was our next stop. Let me be honest, I have heard about this place about a million times from a million people but I hadn’t tried it out. Khus falooda was our pick although the Badshah special falooda seemed very tempting too. Nonetheless, we weren’t in the mood for dry fruits after heavy lunch so we went for the sweet, refreshing khus. I was conflicted, when I had the first bite, it was tasteless. Then I realised how to mix it up and eat and bring out the refreshing sweetness in a sunny afternoon.

extremely rude staff!!

Badshah cold drink staff is really rude while taking orders over the phone.

They are extremely unprofessional and mean.My order was of Rs 268 even though their minimum take home limit is Rs 250.Extremely inefficient while taking address of a customer.Hung up the phone midway. They need personnel who have better listening skills and have some amount of basic customer service attitude.

Will never recommend it for home delivery.

Melba's

Had been there, to try their most famous Falooda's, but somehow , was not that appealing as what the "Junta" goes Gaa gaa gaa , infact I had ordered a Kesar Pista Falooda, and it turned out to be a total Flopp... was tasting only water , in marathi a typical word for that is " Panchat" !!! was quite furious too and returned that, but in replacement ordered for a Strawberry Melba, and it was just Awesome. I can recommend a Strawberry Melba, is a must try for Strawberry Loverz... it had almost a whole complete bowl of Strawberries, with the best strawberry Icecream, ever I had and Vanila Icecream !!
Their Pav Bhaji is also great !!!!

Falooda King - Soda pop

Just gotten back from the States, I've been addicted to Soda pops.
Badshah has one of the best Ice cream Soda pops I've had in India with very unique ice cream flavors. from Lychee, berry's to lime.

Falooda's are what they've been famous for, and its worth all the hype.

Pav Bhaji perfecto!

Thats all there is to it. Pav Bhaji nirvana can be attained in the sinful place of Badshah's, bang opposite Crawford Market. Washed down with a glass of cold falooda. I overdose normally on the cheese pav bhaji, but those counting calories are better off with the normal one.

Worth a late night drive to slurp on a glass of traditional Falooda and some hand churched ice creams with parents [helps them recall the good old days when they used to frequent Crawford Market for shopping & make a stopover at this joint for what else but Falooda ] & kids { to expose them to what a Falooda look like & tastes like in today's Smoothie age }.

Good Fast Food

After a long hard shopping trip at the neighbouring stores on DhobiTalao, one can drop into this little fast food joint which gained its notoriety in the area for its Faloodas.

Undoubtedly the Faloodas are no longer as great as they used to be, but they are still good, resonably priced. Well worth the money. The best thing on the menu are their (Indi)Pizzas. as well as the Pav Bhaji.

worth a visit for a quick bite. service is good, take out is better.
