You are spell bound by the smell of kebabs and tikkas being barbequed right in front of you on your table. These starters are the best you can ask for. I have been going to this place regularly and will continue to do so. A decent main course with an amazing collection of desserts. An absolute delight for Non Veg lovers. A absolute treat for your taste buds!
Good Experience, Nice Concept
Overall Experience: 4
Having heard a lot about this restaurant from many, we decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, they do reserve a table even on Sundays, which is quite a task in South Mumbai.
At the appointed time, we were very courteously escorted to the table.
The skewers were placed on the coal and the starters were placed on it for you to grill and eat. Paneer, Assorted Vegetables, Pineapple were placed on our tables.
Specially prepared Cajun Potatoes and Peanut Rolls were served on the table itself.
The starters were good, and they even made it a bit more spicy for us on request. Kudos..!! But Cajun Potatoes was a clear winner.
Since all the kids on the table were finding the food spicy, they got them special non spicy Paneer. Kudos once again to the courteous service..!!
After being satisfied with the starters, we shifted out focus to the Main Course, which by the way is a buffet, except for the Rotis. Rotis they serve you fresh and hot on the table.
There was no room left for the Main Course, but we tasted a bit of everything. The Food was hot and tasty. Veg. Biryani was highly passable.
Then comes the Desserts. Less options in Egg-less desserts. Gulab Jamun were yummylicious, Firni was good. On request they prepared a special coffee dessert for us, which was delicious. Coffee lovers would love it to the hilt.
We were lucky to enter the restaurant before 7.30 pm, so we got early birds discount. Lucky us..!!!
Overall a good experience and nice concept. However, since you are yourself grilling the food on the table, it tends to get hot a lot, and once the restaurant gets full the heat is unbearable due to all the grills emitting heat.
Prior reservation for large groups is recommended.
Total bill between 6 of us was 4,600/-, including drinks and taxes, which according to me is quite reasonable for the food they serve.
A send off party to a senior colleague brought me here. Located in a near empty Atria Mall, Worli is a branch of Barbeque Nation.
There was an African food festival going on here when we arrived hence the decor was like an African jungle with faux creepers hung from the lights and some African twist to the menu.
The skewers were placed on the coal and the starters started to flow. Paneer, Mushroom, Assorted veggie, pineapple [ewww] were placed on our tables. For the meat lovers, there was chicken, prawns and fish.
Some specially prepared starters were served crisp potato in cajun sauce was my favourite. Potatoes were fried with their skin and then tossed in a creamy tangy sauce with chopped onions, yummalicious. Other items were ok.
Dinner was laid out on the buffet table. I tried the Moroccan Harira soup, it has a peanut base to it and was cooked with cabbage, it looked like manchow soup.
The other African dishes on the menu were African Rice which yellow in colour with lots of raisins in it, African Peanut stew, Veg Bobotis. I did try a bit of it and was nothing was worth a mention.
So the focus shifted to the desserts, mini Gulab Jamuns, Phirni [yummy], brownie and cheese cake.
Not an experience worth remembering, food wise.
Had a Decently Satisfying Experience
Had been here for a buffet lunch with my team. The best part out here are the starters. Man they are awesome.
However the main course was dull and not hot. The deserts were also ok and not out of the box.
They serve the starters hot and nicely on your table.
Please do not forget to order corn (Butta) as a starter or a Crispy Corn. Thats awesome and surprisingly not there on the menu anywhere there.
Overall a pleasant and nice experience.
I will review this place only basis my experience with its buffet course as I haven't yet tried the a la carte menu.
Barbeque Nation stays true to its word (of mouth) of offering the finest unlimited buffet in the city. The starters are to die for. They range from mutton, chicken to prawn and ofcourse paneer, corn and mushrooms for the vegetarians.
The system of heating the kebabs right on your dining table is unique and keeps the food warm and fresh. However, the chicken kebabs were a bit chewy but I would pass it off as a one time as I have never heard complaints as such before.
The main course as would be with any buffet is average - good in taste but does not offer many options. The desserts are decent.
This is a place you visit with your friends and family atleast once in your stay here.
Please would request them to provide better birthday cakes for special occasions! the one we received was quite disastrous
Awesome Eid Lunch !
Worli outlet is far from where we stay, but decided to try it since friends recommended this outlet ! The first expression was wow ! Sat next to the window overlooking the Worli Sea Face.
And off the service starts after ordering the mocktails and soft drinks.
We informed that we would skip the seafood. Started with spicy chicken tikka and Zaffrani tangdi. Next up was Thai Veggies, Lasooni Paneer, Pesto Mushrooms, Mutton Sheekh Kabab.
Since we skipped the seafood, they got us additional green marinated chicken which was delicious and Mutton chops ( which I dint enjoy much )
Since my 5 yr old was finding the chicken too spicy, they got her special less spicy ones :) Kudos to the courteous service !
Main course - well, there was no room for it frankly. Just had a little biryani , haleem, dal panchratna and salad !
And the main part, desserts - wow ! we loved them totally. Phirnee - good, chocolate walnut brownie - amazing, angoori gulab jamun - clear winner ! Sevaiya - good, Butterscotch pastry - very good !
So overall, great food and service ! worth the price. We had a small billing issue which was taken care without asking questions !
I live next door but not a very big fan of buffets also am asmall eater.
Still went after listening to ppl rave abt it all the time. Below expectation food was tasteless. Kababs were just abt ok. Only the roasted pineapple was different and tasty. Of course we don't have the appetite to have the main course so we jumped to deserts straight. Good variety but looked stale. The worst was they charge u 1000 bucks for the entire thing but can't offer you 10 bucks coke with it. So u pay an additional 75 for a glass of coke. No buffet places charge u for drinks. Doubt I would go again. Ambience and staff courteousness is not what we pay for.
To celebrate my fathers birthday we decided to go to BBQ Nation Atria mall Worli for lunch on Sat 15th June. This was my first vist to BBQ Nation as I had tried going to the Bandra one twice but due to the long waiting I decided to skip it.
When I reached the mall entrance the valet from BBQ Nation immediately took my car and what I noticed was they had badges on them saying no tip please. Now this is a first which I have seen and I expected it to be restricted to the valet parking. At the restaurant we had to wait a fair bit because of some reservation confusion and also due a big group which had taken most of the tables. For a moment I thought of just leaving and crossing across the floor to the Chinese restaurant but better sense prevailed and I got the table. I think not going for Chinese was the best culinary decision taken as after that the experience kept getting better.
Its a huge restaurant and I was told that there is capacity for 150 which is huge for a city like Mumbai. I checked out the buffet layout and it seemed pretty interesting and mentally I made a note of the items which I was going to try but that never happened once the barbeque grill was kept and the food skewers started. What a spread. Prawns, Chicken, 2 types of melt in the mouth fish, Lucknowi sheekh, baby potatoes which were yum, pineapple, baby corn, paneer. We kept on eating and it kept on coming. Drinks are also a part of the buffet and u had a choice between ice tea, mocktails and soft drinks. Normally when there is so much variety in the starters the quality tends to suffer but here all of them were very good. Especially the fish, prawns, potatoes, paneer, chicken. What I think makes a difference is that the bbq food stays nice and hot unlike other restaurants. My family made a trip to the buffet table where I was told that the biryani was nice and also some other items but I could not resist leaving the bbq items. Straight after the bbq I went for the desert where the variety was good but the taste was ok. It was standard desert like other restaurants but why one feels let down is that the bbq items set a very high standard. May be that is why it is called BBQ Nation. I think my advice to all bbq lovers would be please visit this place if you have not done so and stick to the bbq items.
Being my dads birthday we were given a complimentary cake, which was freshly baked and they played Happy Birthday on the music system where everybody including the waiters and also other guests joined in. After such exceptional service I tried giving tips to the staff but to my surprise they refused showing me the badge which said no tips. Now this is something which no other restaurant in Mumbai does. BBQ charges a 5% service charge which is worth it for the fantastic service one gets. All in all a great experience. BBQ Nation please take a bow you will be seeing me again soon. The damages were 573 per head including food, drinks and desert which is absolute VFM.
Food Is Good. Bad Hygienie Of The Restaurant
This is the 4th time I went to Barbeque Nation at Worli and I must admit that their grills are really nice and the restaurant itself is pretty well laid out and much bigger than their Bandra cousin. But if you take a closer look in terms of the cleanliness of their restuarant its pretty bad. Starting from their buffet counter ( plates are stained) ; tables are dirty and occasionally i see a cockroach running on the floor! Their loos are stinking and the area where you sit and eat near the loo area stinks too! I mentioned this to the manager at Worli outlet when I was there last time and he just simply gave me a nod!
I think they need to really look at this aspect since its connected to the health factor! Hope they are listening.
All You Can Eat Meat
Barbeque Nation, Worli, is a quiet and simple place as compared to its Bandra counterpart. The reason I choose to go to Worli is because the waiting there is less, usually about 15 minutes. The decor is nothing to boast about. It is simple and pleasant.
The service here is brilliant , just like all other BBQ nation outlets. They have recently introduced a 4% service tax policy, but its all worth it considering the efficient service of the place. The waiters and managers all have smiley faces and ever present to serve you what you need.
The food is magnificent, as always. I was served Asian prawns, BBQ pineapple, green mushrooms, chicken angaar, tangdi kebab and fish for starters. Everything was up to the mark, except the tangdi kebab, which was kinda tasteless. The main course had mutton dum biryani with tender meat, a super tasty fish curry, the infamous laal maas and the humble daal, rice and butter naan. Although I had stuffed myself with starters, I managed to have a bit of the main course. The dessert section is something I always look forward to. Walnut brownies, banana cakes, mango falooda, angoori gulab jamun and ice cream with kiwi sauce made the perfect punctuation for my dinner.
Whats more? The prices are easy on the pocket too, compared to other buffets. Dinner for two will cost you around 2000 bucks, with a beer each. All in all, a fantastic foodie experience.
Disgusting Customer Service
I wanted to try out their newly opened restaurant at Atria Mall, and I reached the place at abt 2.55 pm however I wasn't attended to till 3.00 pm and the guy taking the reservations says sorry sir it's 3.10pm whereas the fact is that the time then was 3.02 pm. He didn't attend to me as he himself was busy over the phone n then he has the audacity to refuse reservation to me !! Sorry to say but it was poor
Awesome dining experience
Location : in the top floor of Atria Mall. Apart from China Gate, only good place worth eating.
Food - very wide spread and variety. mouth watering dishes and the barbeque starters are enough to fill your tummy. The main course was also awesome and desserts were lovely.
Service was very prompt and with smiling faces.
