Paradise in mumbai...sans the food

Before i visited beachcomber Gadda Da Vida was one of the best beach facing joints i found around Juhu however beachcomber really makes the cut.

Its essentially a set of 6 recliners and 5 tables besides the Pool at Sun n Sand Hotel. The recliners face the sea and due to the height of the hotel the view of the beach is uninterrupted and cuts out the clutter on the beach. The amazing part of the view is that you are just around 100 feet of the sea with no fencing etc to block the view.

The cocktails are amazing especially their version of the long island iced tea.The only dampener is that they serve only limited starters and no main course at the place. We ordered the veg platter and the kebabs were really tasty and well cooked. However would have really liked more variety of food.

One definite mention is about the service which is very pleasant. There isnt much customization or flexibility that you get but the sincere effort to make the experience good is worth mentioning .

forget the beach & comb the bar

Enterance just off the lobby of Hotel Sun-n-Sand, was a small, cosy clubby furnishing bar with plush sofas. The main bar is at the end with stools placed. The place is full always from 8pm and is priced like a five star bar. But the good part is that it serves snacks/ freebies which average out your bill. They serve a round bowl with three compartments filled with black grams (kabuli chana), peanuts and wafers, not chips, but real warm wafers as if made on the premised. Then a variety of veg/non-veg started keep doing the rounds. If you have ordered a couple of rounds by then they do not mind leaving it in a plate behind for you along with the salad & papads. After renovation the only thing that has changed is the furniture, everything else is the same. The crowd is mostly business people and atmosphere is casual.
