Blue Waters Reviews

I have been to Blue waters for a long time but never thought they need good reviews. I happened to always find the best place to sit, the best food and fantastic service. I have recommended this place to a lot of my friends and family and no one as yet has been disappointed. I am yet to find a buffet lunch or dinner that offers such variety and ambiance for the price, incase anyone knows please let me know.they serve lunch buffet in the a/c area so incase any one was inconvenienced at dinner, try their lunch its equally good and with the air conditioning. the buffet lunch i believe its worth 325/- and dinner is at 375/-.
I had recently been to the restaurant in the weekday(Monday) for dinner. I opted for the a-la-carte and as we were getting ready for order. suddenly live ghazal was being performed. It was breath taking. to actually tell you I do not quite remember what I had but the service was exemplary. I believe being courteous to the staff also helps builds that rapport. but nevertheless I must admit I have been to a few restaurants but none match "Blue waters". Thank you....

nice place!!!

good place, great ambiance and very friendly staff
the food cud get a little better though, nevertheless a good place to go!!!

1.veg creamy soup wich was good
2.veg seekh kebabs wich were decent
3.paneer tikka masala wich was ok ok
4. dal fry was very average-watery kind
i wudnt say a value for money meal for d taste

Good Food. Bad Sevice

I recently visited Blue Waters at Andheri West. My first disappointment was that there is no A/C in the buffet area. If you want to go for A la carte then you can sit in the A/c else ou need in the hot non a/c area. Within an hour everyone started sweating.
i wont say the quality of food was delicious but it was good for the price you are paying especially you get fish which was above average.
Another major disappointment was the service. The starters were not being served till you ask them atleast 3 times or sometimes even 4- 5 times especially if you need the fish to be served. In a buffet this is the major expectation.
Main course was good where variety & taste goes.

The management needs to improve the service and get the place airconditioned else sitting there for 3 hours could be a torture..

disappointing food

the ambiance is good and so is the food quantity for the price but the food doesnt compliment the place... the starters were better but u just could not eat the main course... barbecue chicken was awful and that being one of my favorite dishes made the place a big turn off for me
besides the mocktails were horrible... they were simply made by adding coloured syrups where as the mango mocktail i ordered strangely tasted exactly like slice
although the indian food was great with the naans and kulchas.. probably a better place for those who enjoy indian cuisine

It's my local adda.... I've been to this place 9 times since October..... watch the entire world cup on their rooftop large screens.... their roof top ambiance is is their seating...for a rooftop lounge its not very expensive...i just love this place

Pathetic place

I was at blue waters few days back. we had gone for sheesha on a weekend so it was crowded. as we entered, we were shocked to see kids aged between 10-12 years having hooka. the management had no problems with it. worse, the small children had come with their family and no one was stopping them. this goes on to show how low people can get for profits. the hooka is also not good and the service sucks !

Good place !!

I been there with my wife 4buffet dinner but it ws in open place !!! It ws Saturday night but still not much crowded so it ws good 4us 2start…food ws awesome & staff is always @ur service…it ws 1time when v been there but over all experience is really good…only what they need 2improve is make buffet dinner in air conditioner then it would b much better 2enjoy

I was regular at the earstwhile Pappilon Park - but ever since it was called Blue Waters - I never walked in - assuming it to be a place only for seafood lovers! (its the name that made me think so). Moreover - its owned by a tv star - making my doubts about this place even surer. However - decided to visit this place finally after reading that they served sheesha - something I like.

The place has 4 sections in all. The open air garden, the ground floor AC section, banquets on first floor and a rooftop. The ac section was good and the ambience was perfect for a family dinner. The rooftop was good too with diwans that offered more of a traditional seating. Even though its bang on Link Road - the place is peaceful.

The sheesha menu is extensive and impressive. I haven't seen so many flavours. They are priced from 200-400. The starters are good - we tried a chinese veg starter and the quantity was also quite good to suffice us. We just ordered for Biryani to eat and it was served in the traditional matka - and was tasty too.

Service was nice - the waiters were friendly and quick - just the check took sometime - but alright - no probs...

Now that my misconception about this place has cleared up - I'd definitely go again and try out more.

Exotically peaceful :)

Awesome place ! If u are looking on for a nice dinner in an exotic location but not too far, Blue waters has it all, No doubt the food is good, although I happen to go on with starters ofcourse 3 varieties of that to make me stuffed :), The fish tikka and chicken tikka is not to be a missed kinda of thing, although the dessert was a disappointing one as I ordered the gulab jamun thinking would be staying to the expectations of what I ate earlier, it wasnt so much good to end the meal. :), but otherwise considering all the aspects its not a bad deal at all...

Good place to chill out with friends..quiet dinner

I must say I am surprised at few reviews I read on this joint.

I personally njoyed my experience at Blue Waters and infact have recommended it to people who seem to agree with me,

The roof top is really peaceful despite being located on link road. Its very quiet place with waiters being friendly. The service is quick and efficient.

The food is good too with large portions. Reminds me of Five Spice when I look at portions; for those who have been to 5 Spice know what i mean.
Little disappointing is the variety in the menu but overall the food taste and quantity is Goood.

Drink menu is pretty traditional. Like they do not have Long Island Ice Tea as a cocktail. Tried few other cocktails and they seem avoidable. Again one of few places that serve hukka and liquor. The prices for drinks is very good and almost unbelievable.

Hukka variety is good and is smooth as well.

Ambience is great.. suits both family types as well as youngsters.

Value for Money is awesome.

One advice - there are often parties on the rooftop; so call and check before dropping in....

Gud one

i am regular customer -bluewater...its simple & sweet... they have wonderful starters... but maincourse ...little shuld visit for welcome drink and starters/desserts..(not for main course)..tats all i can say.. everytime i visit for starters/dessert..

Nothing BAD was awaiting!!!

Just 3 days back me decided to be there to experience the "BLUE WATERS" after long sessions of argument with my gurl(obviously me wanting to try) to visit that place....
Add to my luck as soon as I entered this place it was a filthy experience from the entrance itself...though the Ambience looks good (with a dash of Traffic Noise) we decided to take the upstair terrace for Hukka & Kebab...but again were disastered by finding no-one there with a few waiters (behaving as though were PIMPS and we were thier PREY for the evening) and a gang of typi-uncles snorting on the hukka with glasses of liquor....finally we gathered some courage and sat on the diwans and called for the menu(which hardly has anything more than Biryanis & Kebabs)....and not able to bear the degraded ouselves we got off and ran out of that place like it was on flames.....So ultimately guyz truz me on dis n be thr only if you want to experience some dirty eyes, feel like a street side getting treated royally and insult yourselves....

AND yeah forgot to mention this..... they have a mezzanine floor with a Banquet Hall...and during my unfortunate catastrophic visit there was some kinda "Mahurat" or a "Lauch Party" for some B-Grade Hindi Movie called "MISSION" with those typical aspiring MODELS and AUNTS with all the Cosmetic Appearance with Fags in thier fingers thronging the way upstairs to the Hukka & Kebab Section!!!!!!!

God Bless who all still dare to visit this BLue Waters to get thier nerves turn BLUE!!!!!

Blue makes you see Red

Lovely location, ambiance but extremely disappointing in terms of food. The chinese is below par. Moghlai a little better. The only saving grace was the chef's recommendation for the day. The papads came burnt & the staff threw major attitude.

Goan Festival!

Well, I read about the Goan food festival in a few papers; and since blue waters was so close to home; I decided to check it out.

The total area of the restaurant is huge; it has an outdoor area with an open kitchen for the tandoor dishes. It has an indoor restaurant, and also a terrace area (which was so dimly lit, I couldn’t see my plate). The second floor has a party/banquet hall for parties and conferences. After checking out the terrace, we decided to sit in the indoor restaurant. Initially, what was disappointing was the lack of people in the restaurant (all three floors combined). It looked that there were three tables in the entire restaurant, so the place looked gloomy. A lot of effort had been put in to make people get the ‘Goan’ feed (hawaian shirts, fishing nets on the wall, big plastic fish.. the works), but that didn’t help much. To sum up the interiors and atmosphere in one word, gloomy.

Anyways, we ordered the crab special for starters and chicken vindaloo and rice for the main course. Let me vent out my anger over the bad food in as few words as possible. The crab: it wasn’t goan, it was crab cooked in schewan sauce; the waiter then says that ya.. the goan crab is made in schewan sauce.. wtf $%#^???. The quantity of rice would have sufficed a sparrow, and the chicken vindaloo was soo bad, that we actually couldn’t eat beyond the first two spoons (by which time the rice got over :) ).

Restaurants like blue waters should stick to making Indian food, the common dishes that are popularly ordered. If they decide to do a theme for a month; they should atleast hire a good chef first. I don’t think I am going back to blue waters again..
